The operator was very friendly and knowledgeable when I called to set up an appointment. They were able to come to my house the next day. Although they arrived about a half hour late, my wife was very happy with the service and especially the technician's communication. They were unable to complete the job because of bad weather conditions, but scheduling another appointment was fast and easy. I purchased the Angie's List deal of 4 quarterly visits for $340.

He was very conscientious of what and where he put stuff down. They did a good job. I liked that he explained my options and gave me an understanding why we had mice and how to prevent it. It was a personalized service. He called me back the next day.

They've done good. I can depend on them.

We called several days prior to the appointment date of 4/29. The company seemed knowledgeable on the phone and I set up an appointment. I wanted to use a company that was somewhat local to me so as to make their service calls a bit closer and easier. I described to the company that I was sure of a termite problem and that wood on the deck was already being affected. The appointment time was given for between 2p-4p. I had read a couple other reveiws on Angies List saying that they were no shows but they had seemed professional on the phone and I thought they may find my problem important since this was their business and termites were already attacking the wood. At 4:30p after no one showed I called the company and the lady who answered the phone said she would look into it and call back. As of today (24 hrs. later), no call back has been received. I truly think this should weigh heavily negative on this company. After all, I wasted my time waiting when I could have had a reputable company come out and do the work. And....I think it shows a serious lack of concern for their customers to not even call back. Beware of this company....the customer is not their first priority.

We've had a good experience with Hughes for general pest control. We purchased the annual service from Angie's List for $340, which includes 4 quarterly treatments. My only complaint is that the repeatedly send us bills in the mail, even AFTER I have called AND emailed them the receipt from Angie's List showing that we paid for the full year up front.

They are very nice and professional. They make sure that they don't spray all around your home only the targeted areas. We are very happy with the service

Great! We needed help with ants in the kitchen and possible mice/rats under the front steps. They have taken care of both problems, and we have signed up for quarterly pest control service with them. Initially, the spraying did not take care of the ant problem completely, and when I called, they scheduled a return appointment free of charge. A very nice small family owned business.

Overall, the process went very well. Initially, we had a bit of a problem getting a response to our request to schedule the work, but once they responded, everything went well. It took two applications to control the odorous ants and Hughes came back out in a timely manner to provide the second treatment. I like the fact they are a small, locally-owned business.

The service was okay and the treatment took about 2 hours. The guy who came to my house did a good job but I expected them to take longer and do a more thorough job when they were here. I found a bug after they left but I did not call them back.

Before I purchased, I called to speak with them regarding my pest control issues and what the best package to purchase was. I described issues I was having with a beetle-type bug in my kitchen. Explained that I wanted to treat my kitchen (specifically cabinets) as well as the other areas described in their "general house" treatment. I was VERY specific and clear that the reason I was purchasing was to treat bugs in kitchen. The woman I spoke with assured me the service tech would come with a kid/pet friendly treatment option for my kitchen. So I purchased the "big deal." Service Tech arrived on time, very friendly and knowledgeable. I will admit it was difficult for him as these bugs tend to come out at night, or during times when no one is in the kitchen, and are easily spooked back behind the cabinets/countertop, etc. when people come in the kitchen. He immediately told me he couldn't treat the cabinets, and didn't have any kid/pet "safe" products. I was very disappointed considering those were the very reasons I purchased the deal. He treated what he could (around baseboards, edge of countertop against the wall, inside a "dead" cabinet above the microwave). He also did our laundry room, which tends to be where crickets migrate to, and the outside of our house. The treatment did a good job with the crickets, significantly less crickets than we have seen in past years, and we saw an improvement in the insect population immediately surrounding the house. However the problem in the kitchen only got worse. The company has a 30 day guarantee, so I had them come back out. Since then, we've seen a DRAMATIC increase in these kitchen beetles. Very disappointed, and a big waste of $. We plan to remodel the kitchen, and will tear out the walls to treat again before the new walls go up. No plans to call this company for a quote. The promised something they were unable to deliver.

Avoid this company! It seems like they have a serious problem. Like the other recent reviewers I wasted an entire day waiting around for these guys to show up. I scheduled an appointment nearly two weeks in advance and reconfirmed the day before. My wife and I proceeded to wait around all day on the day of the appointment. We left several messages with the company trying to find out what happened - sadly no one ever bothered to call us back from this company to either explain why they skipped our appointment or return at least one of my voicemails. I gave them a couple days to realize their mistake and call me back but sadly no luck - finally I called them again 3 days later and they didn't seem to know who i was. This is despite already paying them $340 through the angie's list deal for a year of services. They promised to call me back when they found out what happened but - of course - another empty promise from this company and no call. I called them to follow-up and asked for a full refund of the money I had paid. Thankfully they at least had the courteous to refund the money.

Extremely disappointed in this company. We chose them due to their high Angie's List ratings and price. We were impressed by their original professionalism and willingness to schedule an appointment quickly. They scheduled for Saturday between 9 and 12, but failed to show. We called numerous times, left messages, but no one returned our calls. The following Monday, we called to see what happened. We were told the technician's car broke down and that he was supposed to call us. They were apologetic and told us the owner himself would be out the following Saturday at 9:00am to do our service.On Saturday, no one showed again. At 9:30 we spoke with someone and asked if the owner was still on his way. They checked the computer, paused and said, let me call you back. An hour later, no one called us back and no one showed to do the service. When we called back again, we got an answering machine. I understand that things happen, and I was willing to give them a chance; however, they ruined two Saturday mornings in a row for us. This was a waste of our time; I would have preferred for them to simply say they were too busy to accommodate so I could call another company. I would not recommend them to someone looking for professional service. I would have at least expected to receive an explanatory call. Again, extremely disappointed.

I waited all afternoon for a scheduled appointment and they never showed up . I called them to find out why and they never called me back with an explanation,

I was very pleased with them. I would use them again in the future.

Hughes treats our house quarterly for ants and our garage for the occasional mouse. They are extremely friendly and helpful whenever I've spoken to them on the phone and the guy who comes to treat the house couldn't be nicer. Their price is fair, and twice they've come back to re-treat problem areas free of charge. They are also punctual and reliable. I recommend them to everyone.

They did a great job. We’ve had very few problems with insects since using them. They are very polite and thorough.

Hughes has been servicing my home for many years. They are always on time, spray my home for bugs, and then go on their way. Very nice, people, professional, and will come anytime during the quarter if I need additional service at no charge.

The technician "Dan", arrived in the last 15 minutes of the 3 hour block. I had been given,No phone call prior to his arrival, he just showed up. The front and back of the house(exterior) was sprayed to keep the ants out. How long the ants remain gone will determine if I use Hughes in the future.

Just a home inspection needed for sale of home. He called and asked if he could come earlier (versus just showing up which was nice) and did the inspection quickly. Uneventful and no issues. He will provide the report to the real estate agent.

Well, we have been using Hughes for a long time and they are reliable and reasonably priced.

I never received a return call. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt after all of these glowing reviews but having no returned call left me no choice but to go with another company that not only answered their phone but came out the same day and took care of my problem.

The guy who came over was very good and helpful. He was very easy to talk with and he knew his stuff. I haven’t made a decision yet with the project.

The reap came on time. Very courteous, said exactly what he would do and did it. He added if we needed special attention to anything and answered any questions thoroughly. He was very pleasant.

It is a family-owned company and the original owner, Bobby Hughes father, died of cancer. It is a small company but they do quality work. I have not had a problem with ants even eight years after they did the treatment. They obviously did a great job of getting rid of the ants. They came the day they were supposed to. They did all the work outside and did not have to come inside the house. I was out at work at the time and they came and treated and sent the bill in the mail.
