Description of Work: Replaced burnt-out power unit of desktop computer's CPU, transferred all files and select software from the restored "old" (5 yrs old) CPU to new one that runs latest MS operating systems (Windows 8, w/option to upgrade to Windows 10 for free). Excellent on-time repair and outstanding guidance in configuring new CPU and its unfamiliar OS.

Description of Work: They helped me replace a laptop battery. They did a good job at diagnosis but sold me a battery that didn't last long. I had to buy a real Toshiba battery to get the kind of recharging strength that I need. I felt they were a little misleading me about how things worked; too eager to appear that they knew everything.

Description of Work: I needed to have my wifi printer installed & to have some work done to make it connect across my network to all of my devices. I'd had an update that messed with printer settings & I could not figure it out. The tech, Brian, has been to my house two previous times. He is really good & gets a lot done in an hour. I don't recall the exact date. The one I gave is a guess, but they did do work for me last summer.

Description of Work: Friendly computers lived up to their name in providing friendly and helpful service to my mini acer laptop. They were responsive in completing diagnostics and a cost estimate. Unfortunately, my mini could not be fixed. I appreciated their open and honest communication about that rather than attempting multiple courses of action that would ultimately not work. I also bought a great travel computer bag from them and would use them again for other computer repair needs.

Description of Work: I took a very old CPU unit in to see if it could be updated. While there, I was bemoaning Windows 8. The guys were just terrific. They gave me wonderful advice: trash the old CPU (not worth fixing), where to buy an external disk drive for my new Dell, and how to get my PC back to a usable desktop. Very knowledgable, helpful and patient with me. A less reputable firm would have taken the CPU, pretended to work on it, then charged me for the diagnosis. My first experience with Friendly Computers was terrific! Will certainly use them again and would recommend them without hesitation.

Description of Work: I needed some help with my new computer since I have a physical problem with my knee (since replaced) and was not able to crawl around under the desk to gather up the various cables & connect everything back together with the new PC running. The tech, Brian, is great. He is very quick and very helpful. He found all the apps I had running & used a nifty tool to re-install them on the new computer. He put my power strips up on the desktop & tidied up my cable mess very neatly. This is not the first time I have used the company and the second time I've had a house call. They are very capable technically & friendly, as the name suggests.

Description of Work: My laptop started overheating and shutting itself down unexpectedly. The tech explained that it needed a thorough cleaning, which he did, and it took care of the problem completely. He also updated all my drivers and removed a virus that I didn't even realize I had. When I got it back, the next day, it worked like a brand new laptop. I was extremely satisfied with my experience and have recommended them several times. Excellent service.

Description of Work: I had problems with the display on my laptop screen. They assumed it to be a bad screen in need of replacing. After trouble shooting they determined it to be only the screen inverter. A much cheaper repair than a new screen.
