I thought the estimate was reasonable. They charge $60 for an estimate and then it took a few follow up phonecalls to get the estimate from them. The guy seemed very knowledgeable and prices seemed fair. They seem like a smaller company. The woman who answered the phone said there was a family emergency, but still had to call again for the quote.

They were very helpful in tracking down the specific faucet that I needed.

They were wonderful. I think he has a personal touch because during that time, my husband was very ill and he knew but he came by the way and I think he goes out of his way if he knows you have a particular issue. He tried his best to get to you just quickly as possible and does a fine job. His prices are fair and even in a regular basis he always does the work fine. He's not cheap but no more expensive than the other plumber. He's very professional.

The guy arrived on time for the appointment and was very professional. The guy did a great job, and I would not hesitate to call upon them again for any plumbing issues. I will say, however, I felt the company was on the expensive side since it took the guy only about 20 minutes to fix the problem for a total charge of about $250. But, I never like to pay for these types of repairs. Unfortunately, they have to be done!

They arrived promptly and did a good job. We've used them 2-3 times and have always thought they did a good job. A little pricier than some others though.

Excellent overall experience with Herndon Plumbing and Heating

Service person arrived as scheduled. Polite. Professional. I hadn't scheduled the valve installation but added that when he got there. No problem.

First today's experience: While I first checked Angie's list for plumbers, we decided to have the repair done by Herndon Plumbing and Heating Incorporated based on our previous experiences with the company. We are extremely that we did this! The valve in the tub/shower in one our bathrooms was leaking so severely that it was damaging the ceiling of the bathroom directly below it in our family room. I telephoned the office on Tuesday afternoon as was able to arrange an appointment 9:00 AM Wednesday morning. When John was running a few minutes late the office telephoned us to apologize for the delay as he was running a little late and would be at our house at 9:30 AM instead. John arrived promptly at that time. He examined the faucet and diagnosed it precisely as a broken valve. After turning off the water in the home, John removed broken cartridge and aligned the hot and cold. He then performed several tests to insure that it was operating properly. John was professional, efficient., and friendly. In February 2006, we awoke and discovered that the lower level of our home was flooded. We determined that the water was coming from somewhere in the crawl space under our house. We have no basement. My husband turned off the water to the house and we contacted our homeowner's insurance company. A septic company came to pump out the water. There was 12,000 gallons of water in the crawl space! The break was in the in the water pipe that connects our home to the city's water supply was under the house in the crawl space. Herndon Plumbing replaced the plastic tubing with copper tubing. We have a small forest with many 70 or higher oak trees on our property in front of our house. We were extremely concerned as to how the piping could be installed without damaging the trees. Unlike most companies that dig up the yard to install new water piping, Herndon plumbing carefully installs it underground without disturbing the surface at all. The workmen consciously avoided the tree roots during installation. This was six years ago and all of the trees are healthy. The crew who did this work were professional and efficient.

Looked up on Angie's List after hearing good word of mouth recommendation. Told them what we wanted to do, change valves to easy on/off because our washer inlet valve was leaking, and it was an expensive repair. We also read that you are supposed to turn off the water after using the washer, we never have, and have been going through washer inlet valves over the years, due to the pressure, I suppose. We wanted lever style valves, but after consulting with them and sending photos by email, and consulting with them, it was determined we could only put in quarter turn ball valves. During the consultation by email and phone over how they would do it, my wife found the access panels at Home Depot, bought two styles, and the plumber selected the one that would work best, we returned the other one. The valves they put in were very high quality, much better than you can get at Home Depot. We were very happy with their work and would definitely use them again. Price could have been an A or a B....we have nothing much to compare them to, but it was worth it to us to have them do the work.

They had it fixed in no time. Everything went great. They were very accommodating. They came out the same day within an hour of the call.

I prefer not to disclose the amount that I spent on their services. They're just a very good company. They do good work. Their price was comparable with the other estimates and so I guess it was good. I think they were here when they said they would be. Their professionalism was very good.

Pool was leaking water due to a supply pipe being incorrectly left slightly open. We had no idea why until the service call was made. He diagnosed problem within 15 min and showed us how to correct it in the future. Same day service.

Overall, the job went just fine. The crew arrived at the appointed time. First of all, they put down tarps to cover the floor and various items of furniture. The work was well thought out in advance, and each of the three people knew what to do and when. The crew did the minimum amount of cutting sheetrock, drilling holes, and removing appliances to get the job done. The crew was finished and had cleaned up the work area by 5 p.m. They came back on 6/4/2012 to finish the drywall work.

They were excellent! My neighbor had a water leak, and they were in my yard fixing that. Mr. Herndon fixed my yard back to the condition that it was in. That's why I decided to go with him for this problem! He fixed a problem that at least three other plumbers had attempted to fix (and charged me a fortune for it, without fixing it!). The owner, John, was honest, very professional and knowledgeable. I'd recommend him to others!

Our water tank went bad. The tech fixed everything, but the part went bad just a few days later. He replaced the part again and didn't charge me for the parts or service. Very nice guy. Will use this company for all my plumbing needs.

This company is not reputable, shysterism at its highest level. Called on weekend to fix gas leak. Had to wait until Monday for "emergency service.". Charged me 550$ for repair that took 45 minutes to do! Plumber brought an apprentice to work on leak and he used my time for training session. He said it was a two man job-not true! Paid for double the labor. Gas company came the next day and had trouble aligning pipes because they were not done properly. My meter is on an angle now. Gas company couldn't get furnace going(1 of the leaks came from pipe leading to furnace-apprentice was working on.). Plumber from same company came to fix. Replaced two dollar fuse and charged me an additional $250 for return visit. Called owner about this and it took him 6days to get back to me. Did not think they were in the wrong. In fact, he had the audacity to try to sell me a water heater for 4x the actual cost when we were discussing price gauging techniques. DO NOT TRUST Herndon Plumbing and Heating--out to take you to the cleaners-liars and thieves! Response to response: I did not trust company to align gas pipes properly and waste two more days of work(1for plumbing and 1 for gas co)The plumber told me not to call the gas company(bad sign) to turn on gas, he'd do it himself the first time. I told him that this was not satisfactory. The plumber made the job seem like it was going to take all day when he quoted me a price and that he would need assistance. I find it quite curious that the owner was trying to sell me more plumbing work when I was not comfortable with the work they did. I was thinking about how much mark-up would be included in this sales pitch. The problem is that he charged $550+ for essentially an hour labor, sealant, and$9 pipe not aligned properly. This to me is price gauging-not sympathetic, his resolution was to "give me a break" on more work sold. After, the first terrible experience this seemed preposterous to me. BUYER BEWARE! The furnace was working for 2yrs without an issue, until this apprentice got his hands on it to fix a gas pipe leading into it-very strange timing.

They were prompt, wore booties in the house, protected the hard wood floors during the repair and were polite.

Herndon Plumbing has always comeout ont eh day I called, with professional and courteous people. They work is done as expected. I would recommend their services anytime.

They are very professional. They are not the cheapest. I have never had any problem with anything they have done. The people they send are always very professional.

My heater was not working. The blower would come on, but there was no hot air. Given the ignitor switch failed about seven years ago, I guessed it was the same problem. Mario explained how the part worked and had the needed part in his truck. Job was quick and well done. He is great to talk to as well.

I spent $250 on that work. The job was great. They were very professional and they even patched up the part on the drywall. They came back because we were not sure if it was leaking again and they did not charge us.

They stuck to their quote and were done within 2 days. Did a nice job getting our yard back in shape as well. Most competitive price around. Also had them come out to diagnose a potential "water hammer". They came out and did not charge, but gave recommendations to determine what it could be. Had been referred to them by other folks in the past and so far they have not disappointed. Highly recommend.

My husband was very pleased. I wasn't home at the time. He said they did a very good job and he was very impressed. My husband is an engineer himself so the guy was able to explain everything he was doing and my husband loved that. I guess they provided good service and they were competent. They were responsive. They came quickly. I don't think we had to wait for a day. The guy may have called the evening before or that morning, but I am not exactly sure. The job went well. My husband was pretty satisfied. We are always looking for a better price.
