Herndon Plumbing has performed several plumbing repairs for me over the years. John has always done an excellent job at a reasonable price. He goes out of his way to come up with cost-effective solutions. As a pathological do-it-yourselfer, I especially appreciate the times he has rescued me after I have botched a repair job and the way he has patiently shown me how to be a better amateur plumber.

The drain was backed up with a gray sludge that could not be snaked out. Jon was able to clear the drain with a pressure washer pushed down the vent. Nora the dispatcher kept me apprised of Jon's availability and of all charges through out the job. Although the cost may seem expensive for a backed up drain, relative to alternative methods of clearing the drain, it good price. Now the drain flows free, for the first time since I moved in.

John and Nora are great. Nora runs the office and John services their customers. Nora is very responsive to customer's needs and the timing of appointments. If it's an emergency she will fit you in. If they are all booked up, Nora will schedule an appointment, but call if they get a cancellation with an earlier time. John is always on time and always congenial. This time he replaced my kitchen faucet. He removed the old one, installed the new one and cleaned up. He also looked at my dishwasher which had standing water in it. He explained how the drain works and recommended buying a new dishwasher. Afterward, we were talking about other work I need to have done and he recommended another contractor to me. I would definitely recommend Herndon Plumbing to Angies List members.

A+++ on every aspect. Nora in the office makes things happened. Had a team out to look at it immediately, and they were back the same day to fix it. Not simple, as had to dig down outside to replace a cracked pipe. Great because all water to house had been turned off. A few weeks later garbage disposer died, and they replaced it promptly. My go-to plumber from here on out.

They preformed satisfactory work for me. The technicians were good and professional.

The price is a bit high. They need to check the price of installation from other companies. They were responsive, helpful and that was appreciated.

I was very pleased with Herndon Plumbing. Nora on the phone was friendly and helped schedule the appointment. John was the plumber who arrived to do the work. John was very friendly, let me shoulder surf while he worked and explained everything he was doing and why. While he was working, a PVC joint near the mixing valve cracked which he fixed. Total cost was $239 for the work and I have hot water pressure again! Very reasonable. I would use them again.

They came quickly, did the work with little fuss, and left. Cost seemed high to me but not much to guage on. They gave me an actual quote over the phone instead of vague T&M rates which made them a good choice for me.

I would never use this provider again and warn anyone else from using them. We had them install a new gas based heater for our pool. The initial bid that they gave us for the work was not honored - -they ended up charging us $500 or so more for the work than their bid estimate said. The installation it turns out was done incorrectly, with the heater propped up on wooden boards that would have rotted over the next few years. The quality of workmanship was really poor. Additionally, when we tried to contact them to rectify the situation they refused and said that the person who had done the install for them was leaving anyway. We told them that he had promised us a free "adjustment" inspection within the first year and they told us that they would not honor what he told us. They then refused to take anymore phone calls from us and they would not be willing to schedule other appointments for other plumbing or heating work. This is a dishonest, unethical provider and I would warn you away from any work with them.

The plumbing professional was very knowledgeable but felt I had gotten gauged on the price. Asked him to install a flapper on an upstairs toilet that was not working currently and charged me $65.00. Felt they were a rip-off and will never reccomend or use them in the future.

Nora and John were great to work with and if I ever need work again, they will be the first people I call.

Came right on time, worked with great care to find and fix all plumbing problems in our new condo.

I liked them very much. I believed the plumber was very knowledgeable and very responsive. They were a little pricey. I had numerous plumbers come in and they would charge me money and the problem was not fixed. They finally diagnosed it after going through many plumbers and they fixed it.

We had a leaking garbage disposal. I contacted several providers on Angie's List, and Herndon Plumbing and Heating was quick to respond and could schedule an appointment in a few days. They had good reviews and were located only about 15 minutes away from my home, so I went with them. Ahead of the appointment, I'd gone to Home Depot and bought a replacement disposal unit just in case it needed replaced. So I had that on hand, just sitting in the living room. It was about $75 for the disposal unit I bought. Dave arrived on time and was quite friendly. He quickly tested the unit (about 5 minutes) and said the whole thing needed to be replaced. I asked how much this would cost, and he said it would be about $300 total to replace for parts + labor and could be done quickly. This seemed pretty expensive to me, so I mentioned that I already had a replacement unit and showed him. He said it would work fine and could do the replacement right now. About 40 minutes later he was finished, showing me the unit functioning as good as new. He'd gotten one part from his truck, but other than that it was a simple and quick replacement. Imagine my surprise when the bill was $215, minus my $25 "new customer" discount, for a total of $190 for less than an hour of labor. Did Herndon Plumbing and Heating do good work? Yes. Did they overcharge? Probably. Will I use them again? Probably not.

Service man was very professional. He explained exactly what was happening and how to fix it. He spent some extra time to fix what he could and said he would apply cost of this visit if we wanted him to do a more thorough job later. (It would require a separate appointment because of the time and materials required to do the job.)

The experience was very good. Satisfied.

We bought the parts because we at first planned to do the fixes ourselves, but my husband couldn't get the first part loose so we decided to call a plumber rather than breaking something. I gave an "A" for price because I don't know how long the plumber, David, was here, and I don't know what the going rate is. I was out of the house part of the time, and my husband was here but we didn't watch the clock. We are both pretty sure it was at least 2 hours. The price seemed reasonable to us. I appreciated David's efforts to fix the leak so we wouldn't have to buy a new faucet and pay for that as well as the installation.

DONE IN ABOUT 5 DAYS, TAUGHT ME HOW TO TURN ON MAIN LINE WHEN I NEEDED WATER. RIGHTY TIGHTY LEFTY LOOSEY.

They had originally installed it and honor the existing warranty that I was not aware of. I only paid for the labor and there was no charge for the part. I appreciated his honestly.

They were quick to respond to my request for an estimate and the technicians (I'll call them technicians because they did not appear to be 'seasoned' enough to experienced plumbers) were very prompt and courteous. Their estimate came in $3300 higher than the next estimate. I get their 'marketing' that they use only quality material and follow German-style training practices, but not for that kind of premium!

They were at the house within 90 minutes of my call, and the problem was fixed in about an hour. Efficient, clean, and focused. An all around excellent experience.

They were efficient and did a good job. We will use them again in the future.
