Description of Work: I had a leak in the basement and they did that. It was a water pipe leak. I also had frozen pipes one year.

Description of Work: Very professional both on the phone and in person. Very responsive. Repaired a pin hole leak in an exposed copper pipe. Didn't take long and wasn't cheap, but about what I expected. They'll be the ones we call in the future.

Description of Work: They installed a garbage disposal for me in a condo. They took out the old unit and had to fit the new unit which was larger. I was glad I had professionals of H&S do the job, for it would have taken considerable time, effort, and research for me to get the job done. They were in and out in about an hour. They cleaned up behind themselves and you would have known they had been there.

Description of Work: Top notch "old-fashioned" plumbers, who really know what they're doing, have many years of experience, and do an excellent job. We have used other plumbers, but it's like comparing cubic zirconia to diamonds.

Description of Work: H & S installed a pull down faucet in my kitchen sink. The serviceman arrived on time, was very polite and professional, fully answering any questions I had. The job was completed satisfactorily and the faucet worked perfectly. I recommend them highly.

Description of Work: The plumber insected my leaky kitchen faucet. He fixed the problem, but said that ultimately a Glacier Bay cartridge was needed, which he said is next to impossible to come by. He called the office and they confirmed that they had not been able to find Glacier Bay parts.He encouraged me to look online, which I did - nothing. He also adviced me on some sweating on a basement pipe. He did not try to sell me a new faucet or do a fix that i could easily do myself. I appreciated this very much. I have always found H and S to be fair and reasonable as well as skilled and knowledgable.

Description of Work: Cracked pipes behind walls--had to cut open walls to get to pipes on one floor, repair open pipe in basement on another floor. Little space to work in and did excellent job. I have used them for years and they are expert and always do a quality job.

Description of Work: I had two leaky outside faucets. Ronnie showed up on time and had parts to fix one faucet. The other faucet still had some life in it after adjustment so it was not replaced. Ronnie told me where I could get parts for the other faucet. He also provided advice for fixing a couple of troublesome upstairs toilets. Repairs were on time and on budget.

Description of Work: This is an old-time company in Herndon. To my knowledge, I believe they have been here over 25 years and I used them for all types of plumbing services over the years. Originally, they were in what looked like one of the original buildings in Herndon, a rather rundown farm store type of structure. That did not mean their work was run-down. On the contrary, many times I would bring a problem to them and they would tell me what had to be done, get the exact parts and instruct me in how to do the repairs myself. Over the years they really only earned good will, since the parts were inexpensive. When I did need them, I also received good service. That would be for common home problems such as poorly draining or clogged pipes and leaking pipes. The last time, the pipe feeding water into the house leaked and the plumber replaced the valves, stopping the leak. My own worst mistakes were using other, nationally or area-wide well-known plumbing companies for seriously explensive repairs. For whatever reason, I did not call H&S and paid a high price for my mistakes. That is another story, however.
