Chuck and Maria were a joy to deal with. Chuck is a consummate professional and met all requirements for a neat, timely and complete installation. Chuck is very experienced, highly knowledgeable,and was honest in his dealings with me. I would certainly buy from Aspen Green or Bison Plumbing again.

Maria and Chuck did a wonderful job. We purchased the fireplace insert after viewing the models that they carry in their Herndon Virginia showroom. Maria explained all the features and options of the units that they carry. I had concerns about the install process and getting the right size of fireplace insert. So Chuck arranged to meet me at my home to measure and discuss options for the installation. I felt comfortable with the process so I proceeded to purchase the fireplace insert. We opted for a custom faceplate for the insert which fits the fireplace opening exactly. After a few weeks everything arrived and Maria arranged for a date for installation. The unit was installed as promised. Chuck explained all the features of the insert once again and showed me how to operate it for optimal performance. After he left I noticed that the unit was not exactly centered in the fireplace opening. Chuck sent his crew to my home while in the area doing another installation to center the insert. It looks and works great. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a gas fireplace insert. They are very professional and go out of their way to make sure that everything comes out great.

Maria was very helpful in log selection. I had an old set of logs that malfunctioned, and she helped me select a new set with features I didn't know existed, but am thrilled with. Steve installed them 3 days later. He was thorough in his explanation of how it all worked. If I had known how much better new log sets are I would have bought them sooner.

Too long of a story and details to go into but I would never recommend them to anyone, ever, period. They are unorganized, unprofessional and not competent based on the minimal service they provided.

Chuck tried to get info from mfgr. and could not. Took it upon himself to test area and find the problem and then to modify the device so that it would stay lit.

The install couldn't have gone better. Experienced tech quickly installed the logs, ran the gas line and lit the fireplace. He provided excellent info for operating the FP and it's remote control, and caring for them. Also, as it turned out, the grill had a nonstandard LP connection. The installer created a "custom" part for connecting to the tank. Both logs and grill work great and are safe to use. The installer cleaned up his materials and "dust" before he left. The whole thing went very well. There is one caveat. I don't know how it is now, but scheduling the install took awhile due to the work schedule of the installers. Bison Plumbling, a plumbing company in Great Falls, VA, did the install for Aspen Green. Very capable folks in my opinion, but they do get busy at certain times of the year. Overall, it was a great experience. It's good to have professionals who know what they are doing working on your house.

I have never dealt with a more responsible, responsive and professional company since moving to northern virginia 18 years ago. I have put hundreds of thousands of dollars into my home and I felt as though I have had to babysit every contractor except Aspen Green in all of our projects. they will soon be outfitting our new home

Everything went fine except we had a misunderstanding about the scope of the job. They do not do electrical work, so I had to hire my own electrician to wire the unit. The internal fan requires electricity, so the unit is virtually useless without power.

Never got a proposal/quote. If a company is not interested in doing the work, or is otherwise too busy, then let the customer know. We're not mind readers. Frustrating experience.

Install, testing, instruction on remote was all very professional. They also carted away my old gas insert that was in my garage. I'd recommend Aspen and their new showroom is very nice.

Our gas fireplace was not operational. Some months ago, we noticed that the on/off wall switch didn't work. Our workaround was to use the inconvenient on/off toggle behind the grillwork at floor level. Since we thought the issue related to the wall switch, we consulted an electrician who was unable to resolve the situation. We first met Maria at the Fall 2010 home show in Chantilly, VA, who indicated Aspen Green Gasworks could help. Due to a variety of other time constraints, we didn't follow up until early February. We called Maria in early February. Initially, we asked about replacing the unit. After Maria explained the amount of work involved, we chose not to pursue that option. A far more budget friendly option was repairing the unit and adding a remote control. Chuck arrived exactly at the (re)scheduled 3:00pm time and got to work right away. Throughout the appointment, he explained very clearly what he was doing and why. When the pilot did not relight easily, he removed the glass front. He warned us that sometimes the glass can shatter and we were relieved when that didn't happen. It took some time, but he had success in relighting the pilot and bringing the unit back to life. He simplified some of the wiring, installed the remote control. After assuring himself that everything was fully functional, He restacked the logs and cleaned the glass before putting everything back in place. After making the magic happen, he gave us clear instructions on the use of the remote control. We declared that he is our newest Best Friend Forever.

After two failed attempts at getting other contractors to come, and one who didn't have an opening until end of January/early February (it's currently mid-December), this contractor was able to come by within days of my call, and just in time for a big holiday party, so I was grateful for that alone. Chuck gave me a call before he was coming to make sure someone was home. He explained in detail what the issues could be and then proceeded to troubleshoot. He figured out that it was a bad generator, and replaced the current one with a new one. Chuck was very courteous and professional. And the price was much lower than I had expected (the place that only had availability over a month from now charged over $200 just to show up!). So we couldn't be more pleased with the service we received. We'd definitely use this company again in the future.

Chuck came to do maintenance on a gas fireplace. Showed me how to keep it clean from dust and was able to get the fireplace working that day. Unfortunately after he left we have not been able to get it to work again. Called him to see what he would recommend to try and get it working again, but he did not return calls. When you call Aspen Green office it goes to voice mail no matter what time of day you call. Even though Chuck has a cell phone he doesn't answer that phone either.

I reviewed several gas fireplace companies and after speaking with several chose Chuck Lagoe to istall a direct vent fireplace into my (cold) living room, in my 1965 town house. He ran a new gas line, installed the vent and fireplace unit, including surround to my specifications on a very tight schedule, as promised. When a problem arose with the original carpenter he immediately found a new carpenter, who completed the job on schedule with no additional cost. I was extremely pleased with both Chuck and Maria's personnel commitment to customer satisfaction, quality products and turn-key installation. They completed the job on a very tight schedule and the fireplace is beautiful and looks like it was originally designed in the home. I would definitely use and recommend their services in the future!
