Arrived at appointment time. Performed job in very professional manner. Answered willingly any questions I had.

Since we were pressed for time the subcontracter showed up each on time with his helper and worked into the evening hours to get the job done in time for guests we were going to be with us after the x-mas season. They the subcontracter was very professional and friendly and diclosed all the work he had to do before hand.

Do call when you need a plumber. If it's after hours, they'll be there the next day.

Our HVAC unit died during a summer heat wave. We shopped out replacement cost with several companies & Guirkin helped us find the most affordable unit that would qualify for the tax rebate. We agreed to use them & them were told it would be TWO WEEKS until it would be installed!!! This was during a heat wave & we had a 4 month old baby in the house. We felt trapped because they gave us the best price, I just wish they has been a little more accommodating given our situation. Once it was installed, the unit works great & we have had no problems with it. They performed the first years maintenance free of charge. My only complaint is that Tommy Guirkin & his estimator often referred to me as "sweetheart" & "little lady." They should be careful using such sexist terms these days!

They were very prompt, courteous, and efficient. When I called back a week later to report a problem with the fireplace, they came out immediately, at no charge and resolved the problem quickly. Very impressed.

Overall it went great. Once the service technician arrived he investigated and eliminated each possible source of the leak. Ultimately he found that an attachment was leaking onto the wall and spout which was causing minor leakage. He removed the faulty attachment and calked around the spout where he expected it was leaking. He tested they system for several minutes to make sure nothing was leaking. He also fixed out toilet while he was there. He made sure he was thorough in his work and communicated what he was doing the entire time. The only problem I had was with the scheduling. I had made an appointment a week in advance and had to call to make sure they were still coming when they were supposed to. They were apparently backed up from the previous week due to a holiday. I would have appreciated a phone call letting me know of the delay rather than having to call them wondering what was going on. Especially since I had taken personal time away from work to meet the service technician. That being said, i still would hire them again. The service technician was very professional, knowledgeable the work was excellent.

Called out on a Saturday morning due to a blocked bath tub drain. Technician responded promptly and went straight to work. He was unable to manually unblock the drain. Upon further diagnosis, a blocked drain line from the tub to the main sewer line was discovered. We were then given an estimate of $650.00 and were invited to obtain estimates from other businesses. We chose to stay with Guirkin plumbing and would be repaired on Monday since the necessary material would have to be gotten. They also did not charge us for the after hours weekend call out. Drain now runs cleanly and fast after the repair was made.

Called on a Saturday morning because my tiolet would not stop running. I left a message with Gurkin's anserwing service and received a call back from Mr. Gurkin within 5 mins. Mr Gurkin told me someone would be there within an hour. An hour later Marty arrived and made the repairs within 30 mins. I would highly recommend Gurkin for any of your plumbing needs.

Very pleasant experience from the phone call for service to the completed job. I called Guirkin to report the odor, technician arrived in about an hour, so pleased and appreciative for such quick service as this was not an emergency. He checked sink drains, identified source of odor, cleaned pop up assembly under the sink and checked sinks in all bathrooms. Very efficient and professional technician. And I think very reasonable. I used the Angie's List $25 coupon.

I awoke to find no hot water and a flooded converted garage/rec room. At 6:20am I called Guirkin and was told someone would call me at 7:30am when the office opened. Sure, I thought. At 7am Kathy Guirkin called to confirm they received my call, told me to hang in there, and that Pam would call at 7:30am when she opened the office. (Wow, didn't see that coming! A call from an owner? At that hour?! Wow.) At 7:40am Pam called (okay, they proved me wrong, happily) and walked me through flipping the breakers to the flooded room, where to find the tank capacity, how to turn off the water main, etc., and told me Marty would be there in 45 minutes. At 8:20am, Marty appeared, managed to turn off the water (the faucet was broken requiring tools and he-man strength) and then left to drop equipment off at another job. (He did not have to stop by first and get the water off. That was an inconvenience to him and his other job, I'm sure, but I'm so glad he took the time to do it.) By 9am, Marty returned with a new water heater and began work. He was conscientious enough to tell me that his shop vac was not going to get up all this water and that I needed to call my homeowner's insurance and a restoration company. He took the time to explain to me why that was necessary and what I risked by not calling them. Guirkin has nothing to gain by that. And he was 100% correct. Once I got State Farm on the phone, after speaking with Marty directly, they told me the same things Marty did and contacted ServPro who arrived shortly after he was through. I would recommend Guirkin to anyone. The customer service exceeded expectations and Marty was professional, efficient, and extremely helpful.

Just moved to Chesterfield a year ago. Called Guirkin to replace one of the 2 A/C units outside in a new home purchased from the bank. During installation I had numerous issues with their apathy on where they placed items that were inappropriately placed and unappealing to the home. When I tried to get them to place the unit where it belonged and not where it was the easiest for them, I actually had to argue with them. When I spoke to the owner (The Son who I understand just took over for his Father), he was not concerned at all about my concerns. The entire installation was a hassle. The unit has been in for 1 year and 4 weeks. I have already had one repair of their poor work on installation. Then today we had them return because the Compressor burned up from a power surge. It is a top of the line Trane Unit which has a 10 year parts guarantee. However, the labor is $1200. I just happened to see another Heating and Air Company in a house being built next door. He stated that a good company (Unlike Guirkin) becomes authorized and encourages their customers to purchase the extended warranty to include free labor for 10 years. I contacted Trane, and they state that Guirkin is one of only a few companies who install their product "that choose not to provide or recommend the Trane extended Warranty" They gave me a list of Dealers in town that do offer this. Also, both the other A/C Company and Trane themselves gasped when I told them of the price i paid for the original installation. Lastly, my wife had asked if there wasn't a breaker that prevented such a problem. The Guirkin Vendor stated there was not. However, the A/C Installer I spoke to next door and the other companies i called stated that there is such a Breaker that that they routinely install for $100. Moral of the Guirkin Story:1) Rude and Apathetic to your concerns. 2) Not concerned with offering their clients a safety net, assurance, guarantee or extended warranties that won't crush them financially over the years.3) Overpriced4) Ill-informed on their products, such as they $100 breaker that could have saved us this heartache. I highly recommend making certain you use someone other than Guirkin. Someone that is a reputable Trane Dealer that offers Extended Warranties. As I said, the Trane Representatives were amazed that very few of dealers who install their products choose not to participate in offering and extended warranty.

Called for service. Technician arrived within a day and discovered blockage in the system and old shower head that was not operating properly,along with debris in water tank. Suggested that we purchase a shower head that we liked and he would install it when he returned to replace the inefficient and 17 year old water heater. We did and he did. A very smooth and professional job.

Had a couple of leaks. Service was prompt, professional.

they called us right away after we called them even though it was a Saturday. They were right on time. Job took about ten minutes.

He hasn’t done any work in this house for a while, but he’s done some work for me in one of my other houses.

They did the job fine. They were bit pricey, they did not quote a price.

My experience with Guirkin Plumbing & Heating was bad. I would not recommend their services. I would never call them again. They did the work. They said that it will take a whole day, and then they took a couple of hours, but at the end they charged us for the whole day. My husband ended up calling them and challenged them because they did not have any price per hour, labor cost, or material cost. They had nothing to validate. They just sent us a bill for a whole day's worth of work, and the guy was only there for a couple of hours, and so they actually ended up cutting a couple of hundred dollars. I would not use them again in the future.

They were good plumbers, but the price was a little too high.

Here is what really sets this company in a class above all others. In the midst of the Great Recession he gave each of his customers a $25 discount on our semi-annual maintenance service. They did this even though they too were experiencing a slowdown. They have solidified my loyalty.

They seem to have some familiarity with the product that we have. Some plumbing companies don't know anything about it because they seem to have limited knowledge of things. Guirkins were very knowledgeable. The job overall went fine. They were reliable because basically I had a concern and they took care of it. They were efficient and prompt. Professional wasn't great but alright.

Water into the house stopped altogether. I found the gusher under the house in the crawl space. It was filling the crawlspace with water. Called several plumbers. All were too busy and/or didn't want to deal with it. Guirkin worked with me and although they didn't couldn't send anyone as fast as I (or the family without flushing toilets) would have liked, they sent a man the following day. He quickly ascertained the problem and fixed it. Water and flushing toilets returned. The wife was happy. Life was good again.

As usual my service provider (Guirkin Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Co) arrived within the time frame expected. The technician was professional, friendly and diagnosed and completed repair promptly. Service man indicated that the office had reduced the cost of the repair from regular cost by $100 because of recent spring tune up visit. The cost was reasonable for the service I received and which I have been able to count on. I continue to be pleased with the service and cost provided.

Guirkin is my regular HVAC service company. Service person arrived within time slot he was suppose to come to my home. Professional and personable technician. Completed work, provided check list and written notes about the functioning of my AC. System operated as it was suppose to at the conclusion of service. Bill paid when presented at the conclusion of service.

The people from Guirkin Plumbing & Heating are extremely considerate. They always ask my permission to walk through my yard, or use my water. They also explain exactly what they are doing or what needs to be done very well. The just do a very good job. It would be nice if they offered coupons, but we are very satisfied with their services.
