It went well. The service technician was on time,professional, and did the job that was required. He offered good advice and worked in a timely fashion.

1. It took 3 estimates to get something even close to my budget. This ended up being whatever the mason could reach at ground level without use of ladder or scaffolding. Bottom line is that at their rates of $175/hr you can't get much done. 2. When we finally agreed on an estimate, I took a day off work and the mason never showed. Turns out the office had canceled my appointment. Would have been nice if they'd let me know. 3. More than 3 months later, I got the work done last week. Thomas the mason did a beautiful job. Clean fill, correct color mortar to match old mortar, and he jumped on a ladder to get some of the higher pieces. Bottom line is that the work was great, but the office is dysfunctional and the rates overpriced for a job at ground level. I really got nothing of a break by buying the Angies deal except an obligation not to lose my $100.

I ordered the deal on 23 August but was out of town until late September at which time i called and made an appointment for an estimate for 3 Oct - late morning or early afternoon - as i go the gym every morning. When I got home at @ 1030 am there was a message on my answering machine from @ 9:30 am that Leon was here and no one was home. I called to reschedule and was told that Leon would come back by later in the day. He never showed up and no one ever called. On 28 Oct, I called to make another appointment and was told someone would call back on 29th. No one called. On the 31st I called and scheduled an appointment for 7 Nov at 1015. At 8:15 Leon called and said he was on his way. My first request was the repair of a concrete "cap" of aproximately 2' for a brick wall in my yard and if any money was left (silly me!) replace a few disintegrating bricks in the wall. The estimate was $900 to repair the cap and an additional $1350 for the brick replacement.. That was a bit more than I wanted to pay at the time so I requested an estimate for a small step from the alley to my yard - I had 2 steps there already but the first one entering the yard was 12" high and difficult to maneuver. The step would be 4" high by 12" deep and 36" wide. He said he would get with their paver on Tuesday (the 12th) and send an e-mail with the estimate. On the 12th, I received the estimate: $425 - minus the $200 for the voucher - I would owe $225. I got two other estimates which each were $175 - so I had one of them do the work.

They were very professional and clean. They were also very informative. I was impressed. They did a good job and I was pleased.

My estimate was $1200 for fixing the front steps (needed to be re-mortared by the wall, 5 stairs), back steps that needed one brick fixed and to have two bricks reattached to the hearth in family room. I called and asked the cost for just the 2 bricks on the hearth and it was over $300. I asked what I could get done for the $200 of my coupon and, after a few days they agreed to do the hearth for the coupon amount. Took the man less that 2 hours to repair and repair was nicely done, matched the mortar from my sample. My problem was that I could have gotten a free estimate from others and then been able to choose. Since I had already spent $99 I was locked in with this business and I assumed, wrongly, that there would be something available for the coupon face value. I feel Angie's needs to make sure there is a service available for the coupon value before they offer a service.

They initially rescheduled due to bad weather, but when they came to the appointment, later in the month they were punctual and professional. I would recommend them to anyone who needed chimney work.

I live in an older home that sports a fireplace worthy of Cracker Barrel. It has double flues with a 6 ' wide firebox. Therefore, knowledge of fireplaces is a must. They rose to the challenge! The technician's name was Garrett, and he was excellent. The crew cleaned my chimney,photographed the interior, and provided a thorough write-up of the work. I was aware that repairs would be necessary, and their assessment was thorough and spot on. The price quoted for repairs was reasonable. I'll write another review after repairs are completed.

By the time I arrived from out of town the work had been completed and clean up done. Very pleasant to work with.

The chimney sweep was well done, and did not leave a mess in the living room. The two inspectors provided a detailed assessment of the condition of the chimney with pictures they had taken during the inspection.

Working with Chimney Saver Solutions was a great experience all around. There was always someone there to answer the phone. I never had to leave a message and wait for a call back. This was a pretty small job, but you couldn't tell from the way they treated me. A lengthy period of poor weather required Chimney Savers to reschedule a couple times. They were very good about letting me know ahead of time, and getting me back on the schedule with little delay. The mason took the time to try to color-match the to existing mortar. Good quality work. Friendly people. I definitely recommend Chimney Saver Solutions.

I first had contact with this company on the 26th of August and they gave me three available dates. We had decided to have them out on the 5th of September. They were very pleasant and the guy did the walk around with us. He gave us a bid electronically and we thought that the bid was way too high. We decided to get another estimate and learned about a licensed brick mason from a friend. That guy came and gave us a much lower bid and we had him do the work.

My experience with them went well. They came out and I described to them what I wanted. They gave me an estimate that was about twenty times more than the big deal that I purchased which was fine, but I told them that I could not afford to do the bigger job. I therefore just asked them for the big deal, and within a few days, the owner was gracious enough to come out and bring a technician. Then about two days later, the technician did the job. He did it well and professionally. He cleaned up afterwards. So, I was very happy with it.

Great. Garret was prompt and did the work as specified. He also pointed out something that requires a structural inspection that I would not have noticed or known... and is not something that brings more work to his company. It was simply pointed out for my information.

With the purchase, i provided contact phone number to set up an appointment for inspection and estimate. I called and left a message a few days later with contact information. a few days later he called when i was in the car on the interstate and i asked if he could call back in 20 minutes when I got home. after three hours I called him and he said "can I put you on hold", then the line went dead and the connection was cut. that was last week no word from him at all since then. Maybe he has a sick family member, or some other emergency, but he should get some type of good clerical help to set up the appointments at least.

After an initial delay in communication (when I purchased the Big Deal, I though the company was going to contact me instead of the other way around), from then on all communication and services were great. Technicians took care to be as clean as possible on the inside of the house, had a perfect cap (that was way overdue), and showed me photos of the cracks in my chimney's crown. I was offered two options to fix that problem. Called them back after I made my service decision for the crown seal, and, after Mother Nature gave us a dry day, they came and took care of it as promised. There was never one of those situations where you go in for one thing and they try to sell you another--like at a car repair: "Oh, by the way, you also need..." None of that with these folks.

Slow in responding and getting to the job.

I would recommend them! I didn’t like the job they did initially and I spoke with the owner. The owner came out this summer and redid the work correctly. It looks beautiful now! The owner was very polite to me and very concerned. He even agreed with me that the job didn’t look good and he didn’t want any of his work to look like that.

They were very professional, arrived on time, and went over the schedule of work they were to perform that day. The work was done to our satisfaction and we feel happy to be ready to use the woodburning fireplace this winter. I would recommend Chimney Saver Solutions without reservation.

THE TECH WAS ON TIME, EXPLAINED EVERYTHING HE WAS GOING TO DO AND THEN COVERED MY RUG SO SOOT WOULDN'T GET ON IT. THE BIRDS WERE NOT ALIVE SO HE WAS ABLE TO REMOVE WHAT WAS LEFT, CLEANED THE INSIDE AND TOOK PICTURES AND THEN WENT OUTSIDE AND INSPECTED THE EXTERIOR OF THE CHIMNEY AND AGAIN TOOK PICTURES. HE THEN CAME BACK INSIDE AND EXPLAINED WHAT HE FOUND AND SHOWED ME HIS PICTURES TO FURTHER HIS EXPLANATION. SEVERAL SUGGESTIONS WERE MADE AND WHEN WE DECIDE WHAT WE WANT TO DO, CHIMNEY SAVER SOLUTIONS WILL BE THE ONLY COMPANY WE WOULD CALL. THEY ARE COMING BACK NEXT WEEK TO DO THE SAME THING ON OUR SECOND CHIMNEY AND ARE GIVING A 15% DISCOUNT FOR ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERS.

absolutely great company to work with. They inspected the chimney after the fire, made recommendations on ways to fix it, and worked closely with the insurance company to get the best repairs. Work was done over three days, and the workers were polite, informative, and cleaned up well after themselves. The exterior brick needed was no longer standard, but the owner researched and found a supplier to match the size and color. Overall great work.

The job went well. I had initial reservations about the effectiveness of the proposed solution to my leaking problems. I spoke with the owner 2 or 3 times before committing. I'm glad i listened to him. The job took about 3 days to complete. I did have one minor leak several months later and they came right out, figured out where the problem was and fixed it. Haven't had any leaks even with all of the rain we've had in 2013.
