Green Hill Landscaping

Within 4 weeks of the tree planting it became obvious that the tree had major portions that were not blooming and appeared to be dead. I first called on 5/5 to their representative to come and look at the tree. It took a month before my calls to address this problem were even answered. It then took another 2 weeks (and again my repeated calls) before I was finally told a replacement was scheduled and should occur "soon." After another 2 weeks without anything happening, I called again and was told that the tree would be replaced the following week (week of 7/7). On 7/10, again with no communication from Green Hill, I called to find out when they were coming. I was then told we were taken off the week's schedule because of "rain." At that point we were of the opinion that their unreasonable delay (2 months from our first call) had put the re-planting into the summer period when a newly planted tree might not thrive. So when their rep called to suggest a further delay until the start of October we agreed. Last Thursday (9/25), I called the rep to ask about the scheduling of the replacement. He stated he didn't know when that might be and that I'd have to call the "office." I call the office and spoke with Ashley who, after a text exchange with the manager, advised that the replacement would occur next Tuesday or Wednesday (9/30 or 10/1). After again hearing nothing by this morning (10/1), I called and was told they "couldn't find the tree." I expressed my displeasure while acknowledging that the young lady on the phone wasn't really responsible for the circumstances but that her firm was. I specifically advised that I would immediately have to report this unfortunate set of circumstances on Angie's list because, after their now three misrepresentations, I felt that others needed to know about their unreliability. Within 20 minutes their rep called to say he was going to go and "find' the tree and that it would be scheduled "soon." But, of course, he didn't know when exactly. After all, it appears they had a truck breakdown and they're backed-up, thing happen, etc.

Purchased a home and needed short term yard service. Called and they came for three weeks with quality service and cleaned up after themselves.

They come out and give a free estimate of what they can offer for your property. I selected the lawn maintenance, fertilizing the trees and bushes as well as the lawn, adding flowers in the spring and fall and spring and fall mulching and clean up. They offer lots of other services as well, and they tailor their services to your needs. They have a manager stop by the property periodically to ensure the work is satisfactory. They are always friendly and professional.

I cantracted with Green Hill Landscaping primarily based on its top rating on Angie's List. i contracted for not only a complete menu of regularly sceduled services, but also additional work beyond the scope of the general maintenace. the general maitenance has be done on time with the usual amount of care other companies have used (i.e. in and out as quickly as possible and on to the next house) which is to be expected, however my main complaint is that the additionly contracted for work has never been completed. I signed the contract for this work the first week of April and have been told on three separate occasions since then that "the work is on the schedule for the next two weeks" the exact same words with no action 6 weeks later. I have since cancelled the extra work contract and will be cancelling the maintenace as soon as i can get another company going.

They're doing the lawn now and it took them a long time to show up. They're cost-effective.

Avoid at all cost. REALLY wish I had not been suckered into using these guys. Had a great presentation of the services they provided and were sure to send out a manager to review the details. Then they just failed to execute literally any of what I had requested. WANTED to spend nearly $12,000 on their services for annual landscaping, pruning, yard maintenance, pre-emergent, fertilizer, etc. What I got was a HORRIBLE lawn mowing job literally the morning after the heaviest rain in two years and the THINNEST mulching job ever. (Half of it has already washed away.) They tried to charge me double for the first mowing job because they weren't able to finish in one day. (Um, so then you come back and finish the work you quoted, that doesn't mean you charge me double.) In the process of firing them now. If you can avoid working with Brittany, maybe you'll have better luck, but these guys are TERRIBLE...

Used Green Hill for over a year. Found them often to be sloppy and careless: 1. They mowed over grass seed only a few days after putting it down, removing most of it). 2. They cut deep gouges into the lawn when removing snow from the driveway, and on at least one occasion forgot to shovel the walkway to the front door) 3. Grass was cut and edged too quickly (spots missed, grass clippings from edging everywhere. 4. herbicide was severely oversprayed, damaging shrub borders Green Hill was very communicative about opportunities to sell additional services, but less so in responding to questions or concerns (one e-mail was ignored for nearly a month before I contacted them a second time and finally received a response). Price for lawn mowing was competitive with others used in my neighborhood, but additional services (mulching, leaf clean up, etc.) seem higher on average.

We have used this service for a couple years. They do a good job cutting grass and their pricing is very reasonable. The team, however, can occasionally injure branches of bushes by driving the machines too close. They do a good job mulching, but in the past have pulled out good plants by mistake. They could pay more attention to detail sometimes.

So, after three to four weeks in a row we were told that we were "on the schedule" in frustration, i reached out to my Chantilly Neighborhood website to ask for other referrals since GreenHill was a "no show" and not able to even return a call. Interestingly TWO days after posting, I got a call from the company saying they had seen my posting and would not do business with us. This is where the 250 rule comes in. Studies show that if you are either positively or negatively influenced by a sales experience, you will tell 250 people. Angie's List, Facebook friends and Twitter communities all are now hearing about the Green Hill customer service ethic. We will only call you if you dare to find alternative options....Hmmm, what a way to do business.

I honestly don't know how Green Hill stays in business. Their customer service is poor and they may or may not show up on any given day with no communication at all - even to customers who have been with them for years and have weekly service. I understand that weather can cause delays but when I call to ask when our lawn will be cut, we get a weary commitment at best. We were hosting a large family party at our home around Easter time and I called two weeks ahead of time, trying to plan for the worst (bad weather) and asked them to come out early for our mowing. They never came and each time in the following two weeks that I called, I basically got the same response, "well we might be there today, tomorrow, or at the latest, on Saturday". Needless to say, they never came until after the event. And more recently, they simply didn't show up for two full weeks. Our overgrown lawn was a mess. Again we called and were told they would be there that day and once again, they failed to show. If they are busy or backlogged due to bad weather, then at least give your customers a call (or give them an honest answer when they call), and let them know what is going on.

Greenhill does what they say. I have had their landscape services for several years. I have had to scale back the services because of my finances - not because of anything Greenhill has done. They provide full service lawn and landscape services. I believe they are competitively priced.

I was completely baffled. As a new customer, I chose the company who had good customer service and a list of services that I wanted to begin using as I aged in place much more than my mowing company could do. I was hoping that it would grown into a great relationship with a company that I could call for fall leaves, mulching, yard work etc....but they couldn't even get out here and mow once.

Ruined our grass. Would constantly mow while grass/ground was soggy and created muddy patched on our lawn.

I very rarely write reviews but I have used Green Hill for the past 5 years , I found Green Hill ( highly recommended by others) after contracting with 3 other area landscapers who all promised the world but didn't deliver- Green Hill DELIVERS ! The weekly mowing and trimming is very dependable , They show up on the schedule day , they don't tear up the lawn. We have a number of plant beds and they're trimmed perfectly after each mowing . Brendon is our area supervisor and he couldn't be more responsive to any issue - returns calls immediately and is very proactive. Bottom Line , you will very pleased with Green Hill Landscaping!!

I've had this service for nearly 6 years now and they've performed without a hitch. I've been absent from the property for 4 of those 6 years serving in the military and the quality of the yard work continues to be a strong point when I've needed to rent the property. Timely service and communication continue to be a business strong-suit.

Greenhill's pricing is competitive for maintaining 2 1/2 acres in McLean. However, the best part of the relationship is the level of communication. I receive periodic e-mail updates and heads-up notifications about major services to enable me to change the schedules or request modified or different services. They are responsive to special requests (downed trees or broken limbs, etc.). I recently called from FL during a trip and asked them to make sure my driveway and walk were cleared so I could get into my garage after a heavy snow storm. They responded and my driveway and walks were clear when I arrived home. The foreman checks my property routinely and informs me of it's condition from his professional perspective, with recommendations to improve it. I appreciate his attention to detail. The crews are courteous and open to requests when I ask. They are also receptive and responsive to situations needing attention when I ask them to correct a problem or complete something that was not done properly or inadvertently overlooked. That is infrequent, but the responsiveness is welcome. Communication between the supervising professionals and office staff and homeowner is the key to success. That is why I let my previous providers go and why I am sticking with Greenhill!

Green Hill does an effective job marketing their services throughout our neighborhood and in this particular case, I'm glad we did not dismiss their flyers. They are thoroughly professional in their communication, services, and customer follow-up. Many companies (and individuals) can do yard work, but we like Green Hill for their professionalism and will continue using them.

They do great work at a fair price. They are easy to work with and provide tailored services. I've used them for three years now after trying other lawn care service companies.

Terrific service. They're reliable and consistent. They show up when they're supposed to and go the extra mile till the job is done. If you have a special circumstance or project, they come over to discuss, and their expertise and know how usually come up with a solution that's both smart and affordable. Have used them for the past three years and still going strong.

Green Hill has been doing the Spring Cleanup and yearly mowing and maintenance on our yard for 3 years. Their crews are very hardworking and professional.

Excellent job. Greenhill was prompt and very responsive. Corrected small problem immediately. Highly recommended.

It went great..............The big thing is i am busy and have no time to watch over the landscape and i can count on Greenhill to perform services timely and make it look good. I dont think i called them once to come back because of an isue, they are very consistent and perform services as contracted. I would recommend them to anybody.
