Description of Work: Purchased several "higher end" appliances... a frig, ice maker and wine cooler for my kitchen. I hesitated to review because we have been trying to get warranty issues resolved now for years. Problems with either the appliances or installation related since the beginning. Has been devasting emotionally for family members because after years of dealing with fualty appliances and never getting sustainable repairs from repeated service calls, HODGES & BRYANT sued for the balance owed. Terrible to put a customer through this to begin with but then to sue because they had reached their end? Crazy. They avoid confrontation, do not track service calls well and pretend to not know why you are calling and have to go through the same issues every time. HORRIBLE! The service manager, Danny, has been there for 20 years or more and is a fixture. Very dissappointing that he compromises is own moral character in the process of doing his job. Bottom Line!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY THEY DONT HAVE SITTING ON THERE SHOWROOM FLOOR! THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT HAVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH NICER MANUFACTURERS LIKE SUB-ZERO. THEREFORE IT IS THE CUSTOMERS PROBLEM WHEN THINGS GO BAD. A BRAND NEW 8000.00 FRIG SHOULD & DOES HAVE A WARRANTY, BUT NOT ONLY WERE THEY UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS AFTER 5 YEARS, THEY WOULDNT CONSIDER REPLACING IT. Our family is stuck with a SUB zero frig that we cannot store anything in other than jams/butter/fruiit.. it wont go below 45 degrees... WHAT A SHAME. Sub zero shouldnt sell to companies that are not qualified to service their products and Hodges & Bryant is most certainly not. THe way to handle issues is to do it quickly and right the first time... dragging it for years has caused extreme problems for both them and their customer, well FORMER, LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS. They should be ashamed. The frig doesnot work! Why not make it right? As a side note, they also never asked for payment on the balance until the last year, when they also decide to sue. They must have a very broken internal structure. The service manager, Danny, must not be able to be truthful with accounting or the owners and without modern day service schduling and computer aided complaint handling, there is no trail of misery to be found... just his word against the customer. VERY SAD SITUATION. There are so few independent, small local companies like this one anymore.. I support small biz exclusively, but unfortunately, service is all they have going for them and when the service doesnt matter anymore, htese small companies cannot possibly compete with price, so they loose and go out of business. I will continue to support small biz in my area, just not this one!
