Brought quality components, worked in crawl space and outside to remove old ones and replace with new. Been a few years, no leaks and still easy to turn on and off

The two plumbers were proofessional and completed the tasks quickly.

Over the course of several months, we had continued sewage backup problems. In the first instance, the downstairs toilet and sink were gurgling indicating a blockage. Further investigation revealed that the 100 yr old cast iron pipes were damaged by the washing machine water trying to drain and that water caused a minor flood in the basement. Additionally, the backup caused the iron pipes to have numerous cracks. This occurred on a Saturday. We called the technician on duty. He advised us of the extra expense due to the weekend hours but we had no choice since we could not use water again without having the problem cleared. He arrived shortly after and spent several hours in the front yard working to clear the blockage. He finally succeeded enough for us to be able to use our water and advised that his company would return on Monday to give an estimate for replacing the iron pipes. They arrived on schedule and gave us an estimate for pipe replacement. They stated that the problem could be in the pipes in the yard but advised us to wait to see if we had further problems before replacing them. We appreciated this conservative approach. While we were on vacation, the person who was housesitting called us stating that water was leaking into the house from underneath the downstairs toilet while the washer was draining. We new immediately that there was another blockage and that, after having the new pipes installed, there was no where for the water to go but inside the house. We gave her RJ Tilley's contact info, she called, they came that afternoon and unclogged the pipes in the front yard again. We appreciated that since we were on vacation, they later sent us a bill, rather than requiring our housesitter to pay or for us to take time out of vacation to do so over the phone. Long story short, we had suspected all along that this problem was being caused by a City of Richmond problem under the street. Ultimately, that was the problem and we are in the process of filing a claim with the city to be reimbursed for our money. Bottom line, RJ Tilley was there when we needed them, the repair costs were reasonable and they did not talk us in to doing more than we needed to do to fix the problem. Also, when we mentioned the city problems, the supervisor called the city to make them aware of the problem. We believe that is going to help us with our claim. They were professional and treated us as regular customers. They are now our plumbers! ,

I love RJ Tilley and, based on this work, plan to use them when I redo my kitchen.

They were wonderful. The supervisor was here at least a part of the time every day. There were a couple of little minor issues I found as they went through the process. I had them retile the floor which they already put down. I know the guys who did it, did not want to do that. The owner came out the very next day and I showed him. He said I was right and it had to be redone. They completely redid without any questions. I would definitely recommend them. I had gotten quotes from other ones and their pricing was right in mid range but the products that they used were higher quality than other ones were offering me. I'm very happy with their quality. I've already recommended them to other people.

They arrived , quickly assessed the problem, cleared the drain with a plumbers snake. There were a few problems in the drain that required several attempts but the plumber persisted and finally cleared the drain., cleaned up the site, billed me and was gone. We've not had that problem again.

I contacted RJ Tilley after the Home Show in Richmond to do an estimate for a bathroom remodel and install of a counter in the kitchen. I also had the gentleman measure three additional bathrooms to move the shower heads up 6 inches, but for no other work in these bathrooms. The gentleman indicated that the showerhead moves in the bathrooms and the countertop estimates were simple but that the designers at the store would need time to work on a mock up of the bathroom. I met with the gentleman on Thursday March 15th. I was told to expect a call from someone in the showroom to set up a time to meet at the showroom for the next step in the process sometime the following week. I was assured I would hear from someone no later than the following Friday, which would have been 3/23. When I did not hear from someone, my husband called to check on the status of our situation the following Tuesday, 3/27. He was told that since we had multiple items on our list to have done, we should not expect to hear from anyone for another week or two, potentially making that a full month from the time the measure was taken. He asked why I had been told to expect a call within a week and was not given an answer, but berated for not understanding that we wanted things done in multiple rooms and this was going to create a lot of work for them. As of 4/4, a day short of three weeks after the measurements were taken I had not heard from the company. I called and informed them that I would not be using their services.

Found someone with a better deal. But they were good.

I don't know if they considered my problem to be an emergency in their eyes, but I did at least expect the courtesy of a return call. It is now Sunday evening; noone from R. J. Tilley has called, and my problem has been fixed (VERY REASONABLY) by another plumber.

They were very nice. We did have to have the work performed again. The company has a good reputation. I think the young man that did the work just didn't get the whole thing. If I couldn't use another company then I might use this company again.

They are a great company. They subcontract everything. If I had known that, I would have done something else. They were very personable. The spokesmen in the office are wonderful. The plumbers and electrician are great. The cabinet, counter top, and stone work on my back splash was all subcontracted. They sent a foreman, so that I had somebody to talk to talk to. He was attentive to me when he got the job, pretty much after that it was always relayed to the subcontractors. I never talked to him again. They did great design and picking up the stuff. They exactly did what they were going to do and they did it on time. One of the electrician noted that the cook top was cracked. He could have put it on and I would have not known the difference. He let me know that. The oven was also too big. They extended the part of the cabinet to fit it.

.They gave me a price quite a lot more than the company I hired. They were a professional company but were priced higher.

.I thought they were good. They were reliable and I felt like they were being honest with me.

Very disappointed, I had a minor emergency. My water heater was dripping water in my garage and I wanted a technician to come look at it. I called their office number and was told a technician would call me back. No one returned my call. After about an hour I called a smaller business that was able to help immediately.

Immediate response. Plumber came the day we called. Showed us problem, offered immediate replacement. Very friendly. Didn't feel taken advantage of.

They are very responsive when you call. They send someone out really quickly. If you are not satisfied with how it turned out, they take of it immediately. They always follow up with problems, no questions asked. If they tell you they are going to be at your house at a certain time, they are there at that time and ready to do. You can always count on them being a dependable, reliable job done.

I had a small job for this company to do, and I got the impression that they did not take the job seriously, and I ended up going with a smaller, local plumber. They never followed up with me or sent referrals like they said they would.

Over the years, I have had Tilley do several plumbing jobs, all experiences have been positive. Don't plan to try anyone else.

We've used them before and are planning to use them again. We've never had trouble getting hold of them and when we've called, they are always out the next day. They do a really good job. The people they send over seem to have been in the business for a really long time. It is obvious that they are really competent.

It took two hours to replace this valve. This is about twice what I expected to pay since it was a pretty simple job and I had already purchased the new valve and handles. No estimate was given except for the first hour of labor. In the future I will insist on a estimate and that it be stuck to. Jan 12 - I just noticed that the tile under the tub spout was cracked and broken. Now I have holes in my tile. It looks like the plumber actually stuck the little broken pieces back into place and they just fell back inside the wall...

We had toilet that needed a new stopper..old one did not seal, so it kept running. Easy fix with trip to Home Depot, but I accidentally got wrong size part. I did not realize until had taken toilet apart on Sunday night and was leaving town Monday morning on business trip. My wife was too impatient to wait until I got back on Thursday, so I said just call a plumber...thinking they probably would not charge much beyond the truck roll fee and the $10 part. Plumber tells my wife 1) you have odd size toilet, so I can't find right size part, 2) I would need to completely replace your toilet, 3) I would need to rip up some of your bathroom tile to replace toilet. I can fix your problem for $800. After asking him if he was smoking crack, my wife said no thanks. She calls my dad in KY. He walks her through finding part at Home Depot and fixing toilet over the phone, so my wife (yes, my wife) fixes problem for $780 less than the professional plumber.

Because the property is a rental we have had numerous services done in between tenants. I trusted that the job would be done correctly the first time, when I paid for the service. I do not have the time to schedule come back appointments. I should not have to pay for service which was not done correctly. RJ Tilley refused to refund my money.

Sprang a leak in some awful plastic piping that was used by jack to build our house. Had to turn the water main off to keep it from flooding our home. Since the water main was off, decided to call for emergency plumbing services. Called RJ Tilley at 4:55 pm. A repairman was at our house by 6:00pm. He was professional, efficient, courteous, knowledgable, clean and neat. Can't ask for much more.
