I love this company. Everyone one I came into contact with from the gentleman who came to give me an estimate, the woman who helped me with the designs and spent a super long time with me on picking out the materials I wanted (not her fault- it was mine- I couldn’t make up my mind), to the men who came out to complete the work- were all wonderful/nice/respectful. Every part of the job was gone over with me. They put up with my crazy dog and were very nice about it. Very responsive to any questions. I love the shower it is so nice to stand and move around in it and not hear creaking noises. The toilet installed is just the right height. I know I picked the paint color- but it looks fabulous. They were kind enough to also let me know about some other issues I needed to fix in the attic that I would have never known I needed to repair. Excellent workmanship. I would and have recommended this company to others.

Their plumber was very knowledgeable, make all of the repairs in a very timely manner and cleaned up after the job was completed. Great company. I will definitely use them again.

Everything they do is an "A". It took him a couple hours because he had to go back and get a piece he didn't have on his truck. He was professional and did what he had to do. I was very satisfied.

From the very beginning, their GM, Steven Kern, suggested options for the cabinetry that would be more aligned with my budget; so, rather than replacing or refinishing cabinets, we discussed adding crown molding instead. They had molding that matched my "spice maple" cabinets perfectly...including a corner section that was slightly darker than the rest. In addition, their designer and reviewed a wide range of flooring, glass front and backsplash options, and she gave me a few samples to take home so I could see them at home under different lighting...she even found a few medallions left over from another job that she thought could be great focal points behind the stove. In addition, the installation crew was friendly, on time, and efficient as well. In the end, my project came in on time and WELL UNDER budget...and it's gorgeous!

The plumber was on time, cleaned up behind himself, fixed the problem (leak) and gave suggestions. I don't have a lot of experience with plumbers but I suppose the price was reasonable. I was very pleased with the service provided and his professionalism. I will most likely be contacting them for drywall repair in the near future.

The pipe under the house was a weekend call and the provider provided a quick fix to keep costs down. We then scheduled a regular visit for the long term fix. He was very quick and professional.

great! It's an old house, with lots of old-house issues, and R.J. Tilley has been extremely responsive both with getting emergency issues fixed correctly and in a timely manner, as well as with new installs/updating. Highly, highly recommend!

Worked like a charm. Only took a few minutes to complete the job. Only wish it didn't cost that much to do it.

They were excellent. They were professional and prompt.

On Sept 29 the garbage disposal job was completed very quickly. When bathroom sink job was started, they had to continue it over into the 30th because of the heavy rainfall. Worker needed to get on roof to run snake into pipe. Since he did not want to risk injury, we had to wait until then. Overall the worker was very efficient and professional. I would highly recommend this company for service.

I requested R. J. Tilley's services for a small leak on the main water line coming into the house and found it could not be corrected by tightening hardware. I placed the call at 4:30 PM, which is after normal service hours. Their plumber was on-site by 6:30 PM. He was able to correct the problem in less than an hour by turning off the water at the street then re-doing the plumbing connection with a new hardware piece and sealer. We've used R. J. Tilley several times in the past also with excellent results. While they may charge more for services than some other plumbers we have used, they are reliable and very professional.

I was very satisfied and I thought their prices were very reasonable.

We had our wires crossed as far as the type of bars. Had to reschedule so they could order the type of bars we wanted.

Arrived on time and was efficient in completing work. Took time to explain what happened and why, as well as to make helpful recommendation.

The service was very good. I called them and they came out immediately and fixed the problem. It was amazing of them to be able to do that. They had to leave the premises and get the parts. After the job was done, they left the area neat and clean.

Dropped part into wall, water would not shut off. Had to return.

I can't say enough about the professionalism of this company. They were knowledgeable and skilled. Their employees were very professional and friendly. They did a great job on the shower repair and were very thorough in cleaning up afterward. We will never use another plumbing company again. You can't do better than R.J. Tilley.

At the third visit they said the septic tank for the washing machine was the problem and advised hooking up the washing machine drainage to the main septic tank. They failed to get a permit and now, when we are trying to sell the house, we have found out that the work they did has put us in violation of the septic codes for Chesterfield County. The correction of the problem will cost $2100-2500 and they will not take any responsibility for this. A potential buyer signed a contract for my mother's house but is probably going to back out over this septic issue. So, not only will I be out the money to do the repairs but I have lost the sale of the house. Now I have lost the sale of the house as of 10/6/2014.

The bathroom was the first room to begin the transformation and the crews were always on time and very careful to lay down a nice almost carpet like padding from the front door, down the hall and into the bathroom. This protected flooring extremely well and was swept and rolled up by each crew each day so as to not interfere in our home anymore than necessary. We were asked which bathroom the crews might be instructed to use and they protected the floor in that room as well. We were very pleased with the constant attention to keeping the house as clean as possible the two months work was being done. When kitchen appliances were positioned in the living room masonite sheets were brought in to protect our hardwood floors. Each sub-contractor (tile/floor/electrical) were just as respectful and extremely skillful impressing us with attention to detail and desire to please. We were always asked for specific preferences whenever possible making the entire job custom made. One example was the grab bar placement when I was asked to stand in the shower and my hand/arm was measured for the proper height. We were glad we were here and could answer these questions since they would potentially delay progress. As we moved through the renovations we encountered issues like old pipes that leaked down to the basement ceiling. Once discovered R J Tilley had additional workman within the hour to open the ceiling locate the problem and replace the leaking pipe. The ceiling was left open for several days to fully dry and then patched so you couldn't even tell it was ever open. We also discovered the half bath toilet seal was leaking and the pipe badly aged and R J Tilley "fixed that" too. Whenever a issue came up we were notified and multiple solutions were presented. Once a decision was made corrective actions were taken. Our kitchen was a real challenge due to the quartz counter tops forcing the new design to match the counter tops. Ultimately the challenge was met and the outcome was extremely satisfying. The flooring personnel were quite impressive showing real attention to spending over an hour prior to laying the first 16 x 16 vinyl tile hoping to be able to lay a full tile the full length of the four areas. They successfully mastered the flooring and the diagonal placement looks extremely nice. We were duly impressed. The entire job was impressive and I could go on and on. From the very beginning R J Tilley's approach with prelimary in home visit, meeting with designer in their own showroom and working for approximately two months in our home was a positive experience. If I were to say anything negative it would be the kitchen cabinets not being of top quality. I know we should have researched those more thoroughly however; we asked for white and that does limit choices to some degree. Two cabinets arrive damaged and three doors were warped. All these issues were corrected at no additional expense to our full satisfaction. These issues were not caused by R J Tilley but they "can fix that" and they did. The reconciliation of funds afforded us a refund which we then applied to ordering additional shelves and an electrical outlet in the half bath with hopes of some day buying a second washlet toilet seat. If you want a company who cares and really works hard to make things right you should use R J Tilley. They hold true to their slogan "we can fix that".

The project was a difficult one. My upstairs shower leaked down through my kitchen ceiling. David came the first time and replaced the drain in the shower, which was an old plastic one that had the grooves covered in putty, with a new one. After installing the new drain, it still leaked and it was discovered that the base of the shower (don't know how old the one-piece shower was) by the drain was uneven causing the water to slowly drip under the drain cover, and a fiberglass serviceman was needed to fix it. R.J. Tilley made arrangements to have the fiberglass serviceman come out and, together with David, repaired the defective fiberglass making it even which stopped the leaking. Although it was a frustrating time, R.J. Tilley stuck with it, and made sure that the leak was fixed, and was very professional in their dealings with me. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Called RJ Tilley and they sent out someone same day. Repairman was friendly, knowledgable and professional. Fixed our water heater quickly and for a reasonable price. Our hot water is working better than it has in years! Highly recommended!
