Dryer Vent Safety

Chris was very professional & informative. He was punctual, cleaned behind & under dryer, replace old plastic vent hose (no longer code), stabilized the wall vent & identified other issues. He spent a lot of time making sure I understood what he was doing & potential issues of dryer & venting. Would highly recommend!

Chris Birchall did an excellent job. Second floor dryer vented through the roof. He accessed the roof vent in the attic by removing the old dried duct tape. He then cleaned the roof vent by hand and cleaned the pipe using electric powered brushes. A special vacuum attached to the wall vent behind the dryer sucked the lint down the pipe and into the vacuum. Chris replaced the elbow piece of pipe attached to the roof vent using the proper aluminum tape (not cheap duct tape). He also vacuumed the back of the dryer and attached a new flexible hose after cutting a portion of the pipe sticking out from the wall so that the hose would fit better and have the proper "clearance" behind the dryer without squeezing the hose (and still be able to shut my laundry room door). All work was very clean and neat. Can't say enough about quality! He was at my house almost 4 hours.

When I connected a new dryer, it did not finish a work and gave information that duct was stuck 85%. I tried to clean it alone but it had a lot of curves so I searched internet for cleaning duct service. I found a few offers on groupon and made appointment with them. They came and worked something and took some money and left. When I connected dryer again, the dryer info was the same. I came to Angie's list and found Dryer Vent Safety as the best reviewed for that service. I called Chris and he came. Chris explained to me that the nest blocked the duct and he tried to remove it from outside. Then he tried the same from inside but the duct had a lot of curves vertically and horizontally. Then he tried again from outside, caught a nest and pull it out. The he used vacuum and pull out all other things even a brush which previous company left there. He changed dryer cup to prevent birds coming inside and make a nest there. Chris gave me a few advises for other works which I had. It was pleasure working with him. I investigated a company for duct cleaning from groupon and all these offers were from the same company (with more names) and same person replied on all calls.

Chris was recommended by the owner of an appliance repair company, so I felt comfortable using him since another service provider spoke highly of his work. Chris was very responsive, and I was very happy with how quickly he was able to get to us. I was most impressed, however, with his honesty about how frequently we needed to have our vent cleaned.

Dryer Vent Safety delivered great service and quality workmanship. Chris our technician was responsive and professional. My appliance repair company Appliance Doctor informed me my dryer vent needed cleaning after performing service on my dryer. Chris came to the house performed a thorough Diagnostic Inspection he found the dryer vent was clogged with lint, birds had started building a nest clogging the pipe. One of the plastic flaps had fallen off leaving the vent opening exposed. After cleaning my dryer vent Chris installed a metal powder coated vent outside that the birds or squirrels can't open. Dryer vent Safety contacted me immediately after I called, arrived on time for our appointment and their pricing was reasonable.

Chris showed up exactly at the time as he said he would. Before he got started, he took the time to review my current setup. I had him install a new dryer hose as my current hose was not highly UL rated. The one he installed was standard UL rated dryer hose (I believe it as UL 2158A). He also showed me the current roof vent which was restricting the air flow. Actually it was not a dryer vent at all, but rather a standard bathroom vent fan. The vent was clogged causing the vent flap from closing! The vent he recommended was an actual dryer vent with no air flow restriction. I had the guy who installed my roof to install the new dryer vent as it required removing and replacing a few tiles. When he cleaned the vent system, he started with hooking a large commercial vacuum cleaner to my vent hose behind the dryer. After letting the vacuum run for some time, he kept it running while he then went up into attic an disconnected a piece of the vent pipe and then ran a electric brush down the vent pipe to get the remaining dust that was clinging the inside vent walls. I just had Chris come out and clean my dryer vent system this year (it had been about 15 months since he was out the first time). He did the same thorough profession job! I recommended Chris to two of my neighbors and they were very pleased.

Chris was very knowledgeable and explained exactly what needed to be cleaned and repaired, and why. He explained how to keep the system in top shape and why its important both for efficiency and safety. I highly reccomend him and this service.

As stated above, everything went great. Our dryer works great and we probably could have died from a dryer fire if he did not do a great job.

Chris was great to work with. I explained that our clothes weren't drying as quickly as they usually had. Chris had a device that measured the airflow coming from the back of the dryer he compared it to the airflow coming from the outside vent there was a large drop in pressure. After Chris finished testing he explained that lint or a bird's nest could be slowing the airflow. He went into the attic to inspect the vent to make sure there wasn't a split at a joint connection. Chris exceeded by expectations, he completed the work timely he was organized and neat. I highly recommend Dryer Vent Safety.

Chris is an expert in his field. He has seen it all and fixed it all. Our particular case was challenging due to the location of the HVAC was very close to my exterior wall where the laundry was venting. Chris came up with a creative way to resolve it while maintaining the best operational airflow for my drier. Chris also went the extra mile on the interior of the house to install a really nice plate to hold the hose in place in my laundry room. Both experiences were great! The first service was very challenging as I had worked through multiple companies until I was referred to Dryer Vent Safety LLC. I was very happy with the amount of attention given to the issue we were having with our dryer which turned out not to be a problem with the dryer at all. As Chris was trying to trouble shoot the issue he was very thorough in explaining every step he took, and he was very transparent about what he thought we did or did not need. Not knowing exactly what was causing the problem, he easily could have taken advantage of my own lack of knowledge in this area and he did not. The second time he came back to replace an old dryer vent with a new, and better quality dryer vent. I experienced the same level of professionalism as the first visit. The work was done fully, on-time and Chris is very meticulous about ensuring the work area and your home is left in the same condition that he found it. On this most recent visit we had just had the house cleaned, and Chris was very sure that it looked exactly the same when he left as it did when he got there. Chris was amazing! He fit us into his schedule and was extremely professional. Chris was absolutely great. He was educational, patient, caring and seriously professional about the continued safety and performance of our home. Slow drying and cycles after cycles of repeated overuse wore down our dryer and cost us unknown amounts in energy bills, not to mention the cost of a new dryer and installation. Chris totally investigated every potential problem, including the hose behind the dryer, which was builder grade and actually flammable, and he replaced that, too.
