+ 2 moreMAC of Va. did a great job with replacing our roof, (replaced damaged plywood, installing new shingles, etc), replaced the siding and installing larger gutters. They explained in detail what we would be getting and how they would do it and everything was spot on. They performed the work on time, cleaned up afterwards, and did a wonderful job. We had more damage then expected on the roof plywood which they fixed. They even came back a year later to replace a piece of siding that was hit by a rock and got a hole in it. I would use them again.

+ 0 moreWe needed a reputable company to conduct an unbiased 3rd party follow-on siding and roof inspection for water intrusion to support our Home Inspection Report. The property had already received an extremely thorough Home Inspection (conducted by a separate company). But we still had questions after the home inspection and decided it would be in our best interest to perform our due diligence before signing on the dotted line at closing. After vetting 3 companies we decided on MAC. We were able to secure an appointment the next business day at 1pm. Colleen, one of the office assistants was very prompt and professional not only during our initial call but for subsequent calls as well. Kalib, our initial representative who we first spoke to about our needs did drop the ball. Although we provided the address, our contact information and outlined our requirements for a 3rd party follow-on siding and roofing inspection during our initial call, he failed to confirm our appointment on the morning of our inspection. I reached out to Kalib instead. One hour before the appointed time we learned that our appointment was not on his book for the day. He was very apologetically and immediately worked to resolve the oversight by escalating the matter to his supervisor, Jonathan Dorosh, who as luck would have it was already in the area and could make our appointment at the scheduled time. Words pale in comparison to our in person interaction with Jonathan Dorosh. Talk about professionalism....What ever concern we had regarding our vendor choice for this task quickly subsided. Jonathan stepped in and provided us with the dogged due diligence and industry experience we needed; answered every question which was put to him and responded in a way that was easily comprehended. At no point at all did we feel rushed or slighted in any. My I also add that it was a bit crowded to have the Seller, his Listing Agent and two of the seller's contractors onsite at the same time as we were conducting our reinspection. Jonathan was not flustered at all. He remained present at all times, listening to and responding to our inquiries throughout our inspection. Making a new home purchase is very stressful in and of itself, but having vendors such as MAC who are very customer centric-focused helped TREMENDOUSLY to make this process that more worthwhile. I would absolutely recommend MAC for all your roofing and siding needs. Signed a Client for Life

+ 0 moreThe the roof and siding replacement was done very professionally and in a timely manner! They took away all the old roofing and siding and did an excellent job of cleaning up afterwards. The initial home inspection and contracting process was friendly, efficient, and responsive. The only difficulty I had was in coordinating their administrative office with my insurance. Final settlement was delayed but I did not have to pay the final payment until my insurance finally paid me.
Description of Work: Replaced Roofing and all the siding on 3 sides of the house and garage due to hail damage. 4th side is brick facade.

+ 0 moreI was very impressed with the salesperson who first pitched the idea of the replacement. He had ready answers to all of my questions. The contract I was asked to sign seemed perfectly reasonable. He worked with my insurance company to get an estimate, and then MAC followed the estimate to get the job done. MAC did the roof in one day and the siding over the course of two subsequent days a bit later one. The end result is great: the siding looks very good, and is of good quality. The roof is likewise very attractive and of good quality. The siding crew even went out of their way to fix a damaged component under the rim of my roof (which required a long drive to find a replacement part). MAC was very flexible about payment, which I appreciated, since I needed to get a check from my insurance company, arriving in two installments, co-signed with the bank. MAC just did the work without any downpayment and was happy for me to pay by credit card afterward, once the check was cashed. The final price seemed reasonable given the little that I know of this area, but a telling sign is that my insurance company was happy to pay the cost; i.e., MAC went with their estimate. One hiccup was that a sub-contractor damaged my driveway while delivering materials. MAC worked with me to get in touch with that sub-contractor, and ultimately the sub-contractor paid a settlement to me to fix the driveway. This process was a little slow going; I wish MAC had been a little more responsive in making it happen, but it may not have been their fault. Another hiccup was that we delayed the siding installation in order to discuss replacement windows. However, it took quite a long time for MAC to get someone out to us to discuss windows. When they did, the guy brought no samples and hardly talked about the windows at all, other than to provide the brand name. We were underwhelmed and ended up getting windows from Thompson Creek. Overall, the experience with the roof and siding was excellent, and I would recommend MAC to friends looking to complete similar work.

+ -1 moreWe decided to give MAC another chance after they did not show for a scheduled appointment for an estimate. We are glad we gave them a second chance! The estimate was very close to another company's estimate which made us comfortable with the estimate. Matt from MAC did not try to sell us anything that we didn't need which was so refreshing! James and the other installers did an excellent job installing the siding! They were very attentive to our requests and wanted to make sure we were happy with their work. We also had gutters installed and they did a great job with that as well. We would definitely recommend them for the installation of siding and gutters!

+ 0 moreMy sales representative, Lucas Jackson, was on top of the entire process from start to finish. He explained what the process would involve and it happened exactly as promised. He was polite, patient and always prompt. He even stopped by the day of the install to check on the crew and ask if we had any questions or concerns. The crew was very hard-working and efficient. It was obvious by watching the work that they were capable and experienced. They completed the job in one day from about 7:30am until 7pm. They cleaned up my yard and left it exactly how they found it. The roof looks great. I would recommend these guys.

+ 2 moreMid Atlantic completed the work in the timeframe and within the insurance estimate that we received. When the work was completed, we were overall happy with how it had been done. However, a few months after the work was completed, our insurance came out to inspect the work that was done. At that time, they notified us of an error with the type of gutter guard that had been installed. Once the owner of Mid Atlantic was made aware of what happened, he not only replaced our gutter guards, but he also gave us new gutters (not covered under initial insurance claim) for no charge.
Description of Work: Last summer, our roof, siding and gutter guards damaged in a hail storm were replaced. Cost of replacement was 100% covered by insurance.

They did a lot of good stuff working directly with the insurance company getting everything approved so it was great. They made the process easy for us in working with the insurance company. The communication was good as far as them letting us know when they were going to come and their follow up. They did good work. They completed the work quickly and seemed to be reasonably priced.

They quoted $7,000 for just the labor. They were very timely in replying by email. They were very quick on the quote. They did a great job on the estimate. A lot of the delays have been my fault.

+ 1 moreMid Atlantic Construction (MAC) did an outstanding job for us. Nathan, the project lead, inspected our house and found hail damage on the roof and siding. He helped us with our insurance claim from start to finish, interceding on our behalf twice which resulted in better response from the insurance company. Nathan was a pleasure to work with. The MAC roofing crew and the MAC siding crew schedules were coordinated with each other and with a separate company that was doing trim work. The MAC crews showed up on time, were VERY efficient, and their work was superb. Even our neighbors said that the new roof and siding look terrific. The area around the house was effectively swept for nails and debris after the jobs were completed. MAC gets our highest rating and we would recommend them for roof and siding work.

+ 1 moreThese guys were great. They performed all of the paperwork on the insurance, they performed good work and they followed up and fixed the little things that weren't quite right. Our sales lead was outstanding, and guided us through the entire process end to end.
Description of Work: They installed new siding and put a new roof on the house. The completed the entire project in 4 days, and left a very minor footprint for the work that they performed. We think the job was of high quality, the price fair, and the responsiveness was great.

+ 1 moreThe only concern I had was the time between the date the contract was signed until the work actually started, which was about two weeks. They drew up the plan and obtained a building permit from the county. The workmen came over early the first day and completely demolished the old deck. They had to dig seven holes for the support beams. The building inspector came over and approved all but two, which had to be dug a little deeper. Several times a supervisor came by to see how things were going and if I had any concerns. They hauled all the old lumber away and cleaned up the yard. They went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. The work was completed in about five days. My new deck is beautiful and the workmen were very professional and did an excellent job. I recommend them highly!

+ 1 moreMid Atlantic of VA contacted me after a terrible hail storm. They indicated that the storm that we had experienced was capable of severely damaging roofs and siding in our area. They asked for permission to check our house for damage. They discovered significant damage to the roof (front and back) and all gutters. They found no siding damage. We agreed to have them do the work and they quickly worked directly with my insurance company for permission and all financial details. The roof and gutter replacement was totally covered by insurance. At all times the company's representatives were polite, responsive, punctual and professional. They made a potentially stressful situation much better by guiding the entire process. Our roof and gutters look great! Not only would I recommend them to others, I have already done so. Mid Atlantic did a great job!

+ -1 moreWorking with MAC was a challenge as soon as we had signed the contract. Their business model is that they will work with insurance companies after a damaging event and coordinate all the paperwork and all the replacement work and then will charge the customer whatever the insurance company allows for the claim. In our case, they would not do the gutter cover work because it was subject to an earlier warranty and had to be replaced by that company. They did not submit the paperwork correctly on this part of the job to the insurance company until after they sent in the wrong estimate and we corrected it. We offered them the chance to assume this part of the job and subcontract with the gutter company, but they refused. They said they would not charge for that part of the job, but they did not change the contract prepared earlier and when the work was done, they demanded to be paid the entire amount including the portion for the gutter cover company that we had arranged to replace those items. Their salesman did not return phone calls or emails, and their billing staff would say one thing on the phone about not billing for the work they did not perform, and then repeatedly sent documents claiming the full amount of the insurance payment. We had to contact the company manager and the central office in New Jersey, and they said we would only be billed for the work they performed, but they still submitted documents claiming the entire insurance payment. Even after we paid them the amount we agreed we owed, and they said that was payment in full in an email, they still submitted a conditional lien waiver document that claimed the entire insurance amount was still owed to them. This required far more processing work on our part than if we had worked the insurance claim process entirely on our own and just hired a roofing company. While the roofing crew did fine work, all the rest of the dealings with this company were frustrating and lacking in basic business skills. I do not recommend they be used for any job.
Description of Work: Replaced roof and related trim that was damaged by hail. MAC was supposed to assist with coordination with our insuror and with the gutter cover company, but they failed to carry out that work at all. The actual roofing crew was very neat and they cleaned up the surrounding area very well.

+ 1 moreThere was a hail storm in my area on August 18th, 2011 and luckily I knew that Mid Atlantic Construction was a stand up company and they had done other houses in my area. The customer service representative was fantastic, he scheduled the siding installation around my family's schedule. He also made sure that we knew that the roof was not installed in frigid temperatures so that the sealant would work correctly. They took care of us greatly and they were punctual, professional and I'm just overly excited that they were able to help me save 27,000 dollars on the replacement of our siding and roofing when we were going to do it anyway. I am ecstatic about the fact that we got all of our siding and roofing replaced so easily by the MAC representative. We talk about how great of a job it was even now months later as we pull into our driveway. Our representative took such great care of us that we call him and refer him to others to this day.

Description of Work: I had a really bad hail storm hit my area last summer. One day shortly after a guy knocked on my door and said he could get my roof replaced through my insurance company and that all I had to do was let one of their inspectors come out and take a look at the damage. They sent an inspector by the name of Danny and this guy was great. He took a look at my house and informed me what I could expect to receive from my insurance company if I used him. I later made a claim and Danny came out to meet with my insurance adjuster to discuss the damages. I was shocked that not only did the insurance company pay for all my damages but, I also didn't have to pay a single cent out of my pocket. Truly this company was a blessing. Danny was very professional and seamed to handle dealing with my insurance company with ease. I recommended this company to many of my neighbors and I would recommend them to everyone. I am very pleased with their work and way they handled my insurance. Mid Atlantic Construction of Virginia thank you for everything. If I ever receive anymore storm damage to any of my property's you will be the first company I call. Thank you so very much.

+ 0 moreMAC's representative, Jason Elmer, was great and worked with my insurance company to get my roof and the trim around the dormers all replaced. He met the insurance adjuster at my house and walked the roof with him as they inspected the house for hail damage. (If you think you might have hail damage, I recommend speaking to Jason before calling your insurance company.) Jason was also helpful when we were deciding which shingles to use and patient while we asked a ton of questions! The MAC installers were very courteous and did a good job. They made extra effort to protect the garden and deck from the falling materials when they removed the old shingles. Once the shingles were off, they found several rotten plywood boards, but they pointed them out and discussed them with us before replacing them. After the job was done, we discovered one or two small items that needed to be re-visited, and the company was very responsive and came right back and fixed them with no argument at all. I was a bit nervous hiring a company that had knocked our door to suggest that we might have hail damage, but they were very professional and I have already recommended them to some of my neighbors.

+ -1 moreWe had someone come to measure. Then had a personal meeting to discuss style and types of windows. After making our choice the windows were promplty ordered. This took a week or so and then the installation was scheduled. The install team arrived exactly when scheduled and the work was completed in one day and they cleaned up all mess. I might also say the main installer was nothing less than and artist! He worked really hard to get each window in perfectly even though we discovered my house was not built so perfectly. He even came back and fixed a piece of the child lock that our maid broke...free of charge.

+ -1 morePlease read the entry above. I think the company is on the borderline of being crooked. They appear to have a racket going where they "find" hail damage and then hope an insurance adjuster agrees with them. If, in fact, the adjuster does approve a repair, I'll wager that you will find out then that the paper you signed obligates you to have the work done by M.A.C. I wonder what quality of work and material you will receive.
Description of Work: Storm Chasers? A representative of this company called me and asked if I wanted to accept a free service. The service is looking at the siding of a house and determining if there has been hail damage. This individual seemed on the up-and-up so a decided to accept an appointment to have their person come over and look at my siding. Previously, I should note, I never allowed any of the many guys who showed up at my door, to do any surveying or estimating on my siding or windows. They come by often. In a few days the person, who had to look at the siding, came by and did his "survey." This consisted of shining a bright flashlight along the siding, in different spots and nearly parallel to the siding. (By the way, I have original aluminum siding.) When he finished his own work, he had me look at what he had found. Guess what? Hail Damage! By following his directions, I guess I could see a few dents in a few spots on one side and the back of the house. However, they did not appear to be anything that would damage the integrity of the aluminum siding and are not visible in the normal light of day. After this the representative asked me to sign some papers (unread) and he said that his company would contact my insurance company. He added that when the insurance adjuster came out to the house he would explain to him what damage was found and solutions to the problem. Since aluminum siding to match all sides of the old siding could not be obtained, the company would ask to have the insurance company approve complete siding around the house and it would be fibreglass instead of aluminum. To sum up, I told him that I would like to consult with my brother about this and see what he said. There was some effort by the representative to have me sign that night, but he finally left. He did not leave any of the paperwork, although I asked for it and expected to receive copies. That is standard in most estimates, if you ask. That was my entire contact with this company. I never heard from them again. Well, now I was concerned and maybe a little too greedy. What if there really is damage and it is as bad as the guy said? Will my home suffer real damage? Would having all new siding put up make the house look better? A neighbor did have siding put up and their home looked much nicer. This actually was a hail damage claim, I was told, but with a different company. What I did was to contact several other companies with or without good reputations for putting up siding. The two best companies, told me that their is NO damage to the siding and it is unlikely that an insurance adjuster would find any. Also, they NEVER come out and confer with an adjuster under these circumstances. They will do so after a claim is approved and they have been selected by the home owner to do the restoration. Usually, this would happen after a fire or storm did extensive damage to a home. Two other companies seemed suspicious to me and I would not hire them if the insurance paid. In my neighborhood and beyond I have seen numerous houses having their siding put up. Some by M.A.C. and others by an assortment of companies, including a few with excellent ratings on Angies List. I would say to anyone asking, that if a company wants to estimate repairing hail damage on your house, be careful, very careful.
