HCC Remodeling is an excellent service. I contacted them on a Thursday and they began work the next day. Upon inspection of our home, there were several areas of rotted and deteriorated wood. They replaced and repainted all the problem areas and also repainted additional areas on the exterior that were showing some wear and tear. The two gentlemen, Herb and Mike, were extremely nice and professional. The quality of the work was outstanding and I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Replaced and repainted dry rot and deteriorated wood on the exterior of our home. Also replaced missing grout in the master shower.

Fantastic work! The work was done quickly & efficiently. The gentleman that did the work was super professional and very friendly. I felt at complete ease while he was in my home. It has been a few months and there have been no issues with the work that he completed. Will definitely keep them in mind for the next time I have a home improvement project!

After a bit of rescheduling the date and time of the work (only item I down graded on). The workers that came out were very professional and they made my long long "honey do list" into nothing in the first three hours! I had to come up with another list of work for the remaining 10 hours. During this time my fireplace started leaking. I was so GRATEFUL to have 10 hours of work remaining. The gentlemen that arrived quickly found the problem and were able to get most of the issue fixed that day. We left a few hours for after the next rain to be sure everything was good. They workers were awesome and really took the time to do a quality job. I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: The contractor provided workers to do a multitude of odd jobs around the house I just didn't have time to do myself. The promotion was 16 hours of general contracting work.

Because of all of our schedules, we delayed the job for some time. When the agreed upon arrived, the guys arrived on time and began the work outside first. All went well, and the work was completed. However, inside was a different story. The dry wall and baseboard was replaced, muded, and the ceiling patched. They were to get back to us the next week to tell us when they would return to finish...in a few days. Six week later, I called, we had been forgotten... We were told the work would be done by the "holidays"...well, it's Jan., and we heard nothing yet... As far as the closet, it is at the same stage...unfinished... (I do not remember the work date)
Description of Work: It was a contractor for a day...or two for 4 hours. It was decided to go for the 2. We had outside repairs to siding, sofit, and house trim. All were completed successfully. Inside, we had part of a sheet of drywall replaced, as well as the baseboard, and a crack in the ceiling muded. We decided to extend the job and had a closet dry walled, and light fixture installed. The special deal was $299 with $375 added...
We purchased the Big Deal for this one. After some back and forth emails, we scheduled the service. Two men came out to do the work. They measured the window, punched out a small section to check the rot, and then pulled out the rotten beam. They then went to get materials from Home Depot and returned fairly shortly thereafter. I did have to point out to them that there was further rot under the board they pulled out. I suspect the hesitation to do that part was because they had to cut into the drywall under the window and patch it up, which I'm guessing some homeowners wouldn't be happy about. Nevertheless, they took care of that once I agreed to the additional patching. The window of course took the longest; the drywall behind the dryer and the hole in the corner were taken care of quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up after themselves well. One major plus was that they were very tolerant and friendly of my 4 year old son, who was extremely interested in the whole process and asked many questions. This was much appreciated. All in all, the experience was quite good and I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Repair rotted wood under window Fix medium size hole in drywall behind dryer Fix small hole in corner of bedroom
In the master bedroom there was an alcove area that had a door to the only bathroom on the second level(walk through bath); ideal for a master bath. HCC closed off the door, drywall, installed including plumbing and electrical for the new bath with toilet, stand up shower and vanity. Tiled shower and floor. Then in the old bathroom, replaced bathtub, and surround tile. Retiled the floor, installed a new toilet and vanity. The three bedrooms had closet doors that went from floor to ceiling. HCC removed and installed headers so and more attractive bi-fold doors could be installed. The kitchen had disgusting cabinets and counters. HCC installed new cabinets and granite counter. They also installed the toilet and pedestal sink in the lavatory on the first floor. During installations, they found faulty wiring and worked to replace. They also installed pot-lights in the kitchen. At one time, the upstairs worked and the downstairs did not so they had to troubleshoot the issue. We purchased the tile for the bathrooms, vanities, toilets, kitchen sink, kitchen cabinets, hood range, and closet doors. HCC provided the rough material, granite counter, plumbing, electrical material. The workers were very skilled and the workmanship very good. We didn't have a clue who to hire as we are in Michigan and were helping our son with his first home. Angie's list help us find a really great company who were able to get into the job right away and work with the other companies we had coming in to do floor installations.

Workmen were great. Arrived on time went right to work . Knew what they were doing and completed the task. My only issue was that it took several weeks to get on the schedule. I found that owner dealt with emails only through Angie's list and I was looking in my email. That caused. Delays.

Very good! No complaints. Very pleased and have used again!
It was a pleasure to have Greg and Billy perform the work in our home. They arrived by 8:15am and quickly reviewed the work I wanted done. They performed the work efficiently and to my satisfaction. I was actually quite happy with the amount of work that they got done in the 4 hours. They completed everything I had hoped. They were both personable and professional. Both seemed quite trustworthy. I'm very happy with the repairs and the installation of the shadow boxes. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to a friend. In fact, I've already asked them for an estimate to redo my powder room.
Description of Work: I purchased the Angie's List Deal for $300 for 8 hours of Handyman services. HCC remodeling sent 2 men for 4 hours. In the 4 hours, they replaced base boards and window casing that my puppies chewed in our Dining Room and installed Shadow boxes (faux wainscoting) in the same room.
Since I commute 40+ miles to work, I was not at home when the 2painters arrived. Owner had explained his hiring practices, told me he was bonded and made me comfortable allowing the contractors access to my home. I was advised that they had arrived and later when they left a nice message where they hoped I liked my "new " stairwells. The work was absolutely top drawer! The walls are old and trim lines not plumb due to age and settling. The cut ins to ceiling and stair trim were exceptionally clean and well done. 2 coats of paint and not a drop on stair carpet. Wishing I could afford a whole house re-paint! Highly recommend the company, HCC, and these painters!
Description of Work: Painted central staircase walls of 3 story townhome.
Overall very pleased with the service. They were timely and I am happy with the work completed. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Given 3 tasks: repair outside fence gate, patch ceiling drywall and check leaky faucet. The gate was fixed on the first visit, the patching was started and we were notified we should replace our ceiling fixture due to its weight. The sink faucet needed to be replaced. They came out on another visit and finished the patching, installed a new light fixture and replaced the faucet with a new one we purchased.

I have reviewed this contractor before for a wood rot replacement. This time I was in a pinch I had a pipe burst in my house which damaged the drywall and carpet. I called them to come help and sure enough they came and repaired the leak, removed the water damaged carpet, and repaired the drywall. I was amazed at the quick response, I got to do, the work. I was informed by the office personal it may cost a little more due to it having to be schedule immediately but they would do their best to get it fit in. I then received a call directly from Scott whom happened to be in the area. He stopped by and repaired the leak and said he would have a crew over that afternoon to take care of removing the water damaged drywall and carpet. Sure enough Greg and Herb showed up with a laborer and removed the trash and patched the drywall. They have now got me scheduled to do the final painting and trim repair. I have been very pleased with HCC and will continue to use them.

Customer, Some facts for you 1) There was no access available when the job was looked at to the interior which was needed (at least no one answered the door or phone number provided) 2) You requested a patch job per the recommendation of replacing or at least removing the door to completely access the job. 3) You sir are the one whom keep delaying the job by wanting us to be there on a Sunday when you could come into town (WE DO NOT WORK SUNDAYS) 4) The technicians on site were never given paint by your tenant he was in a rush to leave town. 5) When the job was complete you wanted to negotiate for a lesser charge. Asking if it took as long and if the materials cost as much as estimated. 6) Never received any payment from you for anything. After 3 weeks, only photos were sent asking for HCC to waste more time and money with no comment as to whether or not you intended to pay or not. 7) There was never any mention “IF THE LEAK” had been corrected? The reason we were called in the first place. 8) There was never a second set of photos sent just the originals on 9/22/14 the job was done on 9/5/14 and invoiced on 9/7/14 9) You sir just do not want to pay to have the job done, like recommended and are disappointed you cannot get it done for what you think it should cost. 10) The only reason you decided to post a review is because the unpaid invoice was sent again 3 days ago. 11) I do not see how the work can be completed if no payment was made and due to lack of payment or thought there would be a payment why should we entertain doing anything else?

1. Willetta and Eddie were awesome. 2. They did take smoke breaks but were rinsing out equipment at the same time. 3.They did take a 45 minute lunch break which really did not get deducted from my total hours as they got here around 8:15 and left by 5:30 but if they had deducted that extra 45 minutes I would have given it to them as a tip. SO all good there too. 4. Two not so good things: a. The lady's car is leaking oil and she parked in my driveway so I have significant oil drips now that I need to get cleaned off. b. They only used tape in one tiny space along trim at ceiling level in a very tight spot. As a result, I have speckeled paint on everything that I now need to try to clean off. I did mention this to them because I saw it first in the bedroom before they left. She said they were not used to painting just the walls - and she tried to "wipe" the baseboards. Now I'm going to have to paint the baseboards on all walls where the darker paints were painted to get rid of these and I wasn't planing on doing that. There are also speckles on every surface that was not covered - outlets, light switches, fan panels, thermostat, etc. Pain in the butt but not horrendous. All in all for what I paid, I felt like it was a good job. The paint job was fantastic (other than the speckles) and they got done everything I had expected them to. I would use your service again, but would ask or do the taping of items myself next time.

I had a one day job for this voucher at my rental property in Leesburg, but I wound up having further problems than I thought and could not get the work done before the expiration. The problems are still not worked out. I later contacted HCC and tried to have them do a smaller job at my house, but they could not do it within a time frame that worked for me. It sounded like it was going to cost a lot more and it is in Fairfax county

I am selling my home and had an urgent requirement to get the existing set of pull down stairs to the attic replaced. I contacted Scott late on Friday afternoon and advised of my requirement and he advised that he was going out of town but would look into it and might be able to do it as soon as Monday. Monday came and I contacted Scott and he advised that 2 fellows would be out to do the job. At approximately 2:00 PM the guys were here and began the job. They had no prior knowledge of the job so they needed some materials to do the job. They said they would be back the next morning to finish the job and they showed up right on time. they completed the job and solved my crisis and I am very greatful to Scott and his team at HCC. He was responsive and sensitive to my need, his team was professional, courteous and very competent. I highly recommend HCC Remodelling for your needs.

I purchased an Angie's List Deal a few weeks ago for 3 hours of Handyman services from HCC Remodeling. Some deal! When booking the appointment, I was asked multiple times if I could shift my dates around. I wasn't fond of being asked to rearrange my time, but we managed to find a date that was mutually agreeable. The "Angie's List" deal stated that I would get 3 hours worth of handyman services. However, I was informed at the time of scheduling (after I had already paid for the coupon) that I would either get 1.5 hours w/ 2 men or 3 hours of 1 man. I really believe that should put things like this in the "fine print". Also during scheduling I informed HCC Remodeling that I wanted my gutters cleaned and my 10 new shutters (2 on each window) hung. The date of the service arrived and the 2 men showed up as scheduled. And that's about all they did right. When they were told what we requested (by my husband, not their scheduler that I had told what I wanted done. I have the emails to prove it) they informed him that they would not have enough time to clean the gutters AND hang the shutters. Again, I should not have been given the impression that this would be possible when I was scheduling the appointment. When my husband argued with the workmen, they gave him a smart answer. I then called the company's office and left a message complaining about the problem. As the workers began cleaning the gutters, they got a call. My husband overheard them talking to someone from the office saying we were complaining about what they could accomplish and that they "didn't know what these people expected." Not only that, but then the job they did on the gutters was poor; they threw the debris from the gutters down to the ground and left it there, no clean up. I just paid thousands of dollars for a new patio and these guys threw all sorts of dead leaves a muck on it. It has stained my pavers a bit. POOR JOB! After the phone call they received, the workmen "finished" their task and left...a full 1/2 hour before the allotted 1.5 hours promised. And without even consulting my husband that they were done. I placed yet another phone call to the office and sent HCC an email via Angie's List. I wrote these exact words "I just left a voicemail at the office number. I am extremely disappointed that I am not receiving the service that I requested. If I had been told I could not get my request completed then I would have scheduled more time." Scott from the office called me multiple times from a "restricted" number (I don't answer calls from restricted numbers). He then called me from the office number. When I answered, he provided excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't do the job I requested. He even went so far to say that in order to even pull the 40ft ladder off the truck he typically charges an additional $200. He also said that his company does not clean gutters. NEWS TO ME! I informed Scott that his crew didn't even clean up the debris from the job they did. I requested compensation for the 1/2 hour of service that I did not get. Scott continued to argue with me and give me excuses, so I decided to stop the talk and end the conversation. I will never use this company again. I will bad-mouth them to anyone I know that is a homeowner. And I hope this review reaches anyone out there looking for at HCC Remodeling when doing work in their home. There was absolutely NO customer service from HCC Remodeling and the job they did was not worth the money I spent.

HCC Remodeling 10/1/2014 Okay...no problem. We will stay as planned. Thank you. ----------------------- 10/1/2014 Thank you. I appreciate it! ------------------- 10/10/2014 I just left a voicemail at the office number. I am extremely disappointed that I am not receiving the service that I requested. If I had been told I could not get my request completed then I would have scheduled more time. I also have the emails and voicemails left. Our techs always offer to do more work and quote a charge on the job there is no mention of how many shutters. We do not clean gutters but did so because it was requested and you were not informed. That was the only miscommunication. There was no mention of how may shutters in the emails above. Only a 3 story town home which requires a 40 foot ladder, which requires 2 men to move. It would be an irresponsibility for us to send one man to move the 40’ ladder by himself, which can cause serious damage if dropped. Our Technicians our required to get a signature at the completion of the job. Your husband left before they were done. I am sorry you feel you were scammed by HCC that was not the intent. I believe we did everything possible to accommodate you and are very sorry, you feel we did not. “Safety first”

I am extremely disappointed with HCC. Due to water damage, my laundry room needed to be repaired. It has been over three months since the drywall and flooring were removed by a water mitigation team. I have contacted several companies and had high hopes that HCC could do the repairs for a reasonable cost. However, after they came to examine the damage, they were supposed to provide an estimate for replacing and painting the drywall, replacing the insulation and flooring and a few other minor repairs in my home. They have not provided the estimate nor responded to my emails. It is now October and the temperature is dropping-- air is coming through the concrete and my home is freezing. What a horrible way to do business!

Please read your own response. “It has been over three months since the drywall and flooring were removed by a water mitigation team.” It had only be 7 business days since your Project was looked at, before you posted a review. Mr. (removed member name) did respond to your email and the estimate was on the top of the list to get written up on the 8th but due to your review we have no interest in doing business with you at this point. Your procrastination, on having the work done, does not create a sense of urgency on our part. Your original contact email was on the 25th of September and we estimated on that Saturday. So, before the review it had been a total of 10 business days. We made special arrangements for someone to come look at your job on Saturday the 27th , due to the fact that our main estimator was off that day, we believe we were very proactive in attempting to get you a quote. Yes our rates are very reasonable and will stay that way. We will not hire additional office personnel so you can get a quote faster and our rates go up.

They arrived on time, took the time to do everything extremely well, including scraping off material used when tub/shower enclosure was originally installed. A few days after the jobs were completed, we were having a problem with the door handle on the front door coming out when turned, and the back storm door not locking. Notied HCC remodeling and within the week they had sent someone out to make the adjustments. Overall they did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone.

HCC sent a two-man crew; they arrived on time, asked what we wanted done, and made some useful suggestions before starting in. They removed and replaced damaged trim from the roof line to the second story, caulked and puttied the seams and nail holes, and cleaned up. We feel we got a bargain ... and finally got work done that others didn't want to do because the job was fairly small. I will be putting their number on my conacts list, and will refer them to our neighbors.A+!

The service went well. They were very busy so it did take a bit to get the deal scheduled. I think they received a large response from the deal offer. I had them replace rotten wood around a deck door. Two technicians came out and completed the job in about 4 hours. They knew what they were doing and did a nice job at explaining what it would take to make the repairs. There was some trim work that was not cut evenly, but I am not overly concerned about it.
Description of Work: I purchased a deal for wood rot restoration and repair.
