They arrived on time, were very professional and completed the paint job in a reasonable amount of time. I was a little surprised that they didn't bring/have something to cover areas that paint could have gotten on. There was a little bit of paint on one area of my carpet. Luckily, I covered my TV. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service performed.

I bought the services of the painters - 2 painters for 4 hours. I figured they could knock out a great deal of the remaining painting that needed to be done in my home. In the four hours they were here, they managed to paint one 18 X 15 foot room, with an maximum wall height of 8 feet. There are two large floor to ceiling windows in this room, as well as a walk-through opening of 8 feet wide which leads to the dining room and another of 4 feet wide which leads to the library. One side of the room had the front door and side lights, and a door way to the bathroom. Another wall had a 6 foot hall closet. Needless to say, there was not that much wall to be painted. They used almost one gallon of paint. I specifically asked if they would make certain the patched walls were smooth, and that all holes had been repaired. They assured me that they always do that. I signed off on the completion of their job, not that I was satisfied, just that they had been here the required amount of time. On examining the wall, they were huge areas that had not been painted at all, and none of the patchwork had been sanded smooth. We had to repaint the entire room the following day. I would NOT hire this service again! They were friendly and polite, but did a very poor job. A side note: this room was entirely repainted in an hour and a half

We have been using this company for a few recent visits to replace wood rot in the pool house, build a plywood ceiling in the pool house, move and install a small ceiling light fixture, and door handle in the pool house and install new pest screens for both the pool house and the nearby sun room. The work is finished, they are paid in full, and they did a great job. The price was very fair! looking to now get a quote for a bathroom remodel. No problem at all giving a strong recommendation for this company!
Description of Work: finished rescreening sun room at house!
Everything went extremely well. Scott and his crew did a great job. We had some difficulty with scheduling at first, but that is to be expected with all contractors. Once the schedule was made, they showed up and installed the backsplash and under-counter lighting just as we had hoped. The quality of their work was excellent, and the individuals who came were very professional. We are thrilled with the job. We did have a minor issue with one of the lights, but Scott came back the next morning and corrected it. I highly recommend HCC remodeling.

The workers from HCC Remodeling were fantastic. They sent two workers who showed up on time, and completed all the work on our "to-do" list. They were friendly and courteous. Gave us a quote for another job we were considering getting done, and even gave us some great suggestions. They worked quickly and efficiently and completed the work in the allotted time. They really were great and we would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: The provider completed some small repair work around our house. The repaired the door frame to the front door of the house, repaired the dry wall in our walk in closet, hung new shelving in the walk in closet in the master bedroom, and in another room. repaired the shower door in the master bathroom, and replaced the molding around a closet in the basement.

It was hard to get a response back from the company. The guys showed up and I told them the the door was at Lowe?s. They went to Lowe?s and said the door was wrong size and then they left. I got a hold of the owner. I gave him the Lowe's SKU for the door, a picture of the existing door measurement and the replacement door measurement He said he would reschedule. Had to recontact him several time, his excuse was that he got busy and forgot about scheduling the work. I never heard back from him to schedule and they just showed up on Saturday. Fortunately somebody was there so they could do the work.

I am sorry you feel this way but you were told that we would be back the next Saturday to complete the install. I spoke to you on the phone about the door and did get the SKU from you to ensure Lowe's pulled the right door on our second attempt. The deal by itself was for one visit, out of a courtesy to Angie's list and their members we came back to complete the work. The biggest issue is the fact you are in North Carolina and we were doing this for a rental property. So there was no documentation when my technicians showed up and no one other than you whom knew what was going on. My Technicians called me about the door situation and since you could not be reached. I would not authorize them to do something that would incur additional charges to you without approval. We require that the homeowner is present and any additional charges be authorized before being done. In your situation this was not possible. If I remember correctly, I was the one whom called you that afternoon, to get the situation straight with the door and I told you that if you email me the information on the door we would ensure we got the correct one next Saturday and install it.

Scott Haley, manager, was excellent to work with, he has a great crew especially Greg, his Team lead. He did a thorough review of the work I wanted to get done, and provided an estimate to my kitchen designer's specifications. The work involved removing a soffitt to allow for longer cabinets based on my designer's drawings which involved moving my gas stove from next to a wall to meet new county codes and moving the fridge and water line to the other side of the kitchen. Moving the sink was also involved. He replaced my vinyl floors and installed hard wood and painted kitchen. Scoot coordinate the delivery of my cabinets with the manufacturer to keep his estimated schedule. Scott and his crew are punctual and concerns are addressed in a timely manner. I am sure I'll use them again for other jobs.

Am sorry you feel that way as discussed there were very few if not no options to redesign your kitchen as you wanted. we did try to do some designs for you but they all were very similar to what you had. Due to the concrete slab construction of your home and the hot water heater in the only closet space in the kitchen, there was little to no option for change. We did discuss the electric on demand hot water heater which I recommended against and after speaking with VAMAC and Ferguson was still a poor alternative for you whole house. I did understand it is just you and your husband but I always like to consider your resale value for the future. If you have contacted AL I am more than willing to let the refund you the cost of the visit but we have not been contacted to do so.

Two employees worked for hours each and completed most of the listed projects. Their work was very good. The personnel were very friendly and very capable. Since there was project work unfinished, I asked the two employees how to arrange for HHC to complete the work. They said I should call the number on the business card they provided me. Instead, I sent an email to HHC with an attachment listing the remaining work and asking for a schedule and cost estimate. After not getting a response in some ten days, I sent another email asking HHC to tell me if the remaining work was too small a job for their interest or not. I still have not heard from HHC. My mixed ratings are my attempt to reflect both the good work done and the lack of a response for the follow-up work. I have now contracted with another firm via Angie's List for the remaining work.
Description of Work: I provided a prioritized list of 10 "projects" for the 8 hours of service I purchased. The projects ranged from patching dry wall, replacing attic vents, weatherizing outer doors, and painting.

I will start by saying that the owner and the administrative staff were polite and responsive. I contacted the company prior to purchasing the deal and made sure they understood the scope of the requested work, and whether it would fit in the timeline of 8 hours. From there, the customer service did not meet my expectation. The workers showed up without all the necessary tools (I let them borrow some), they left my house with only one of the jobs nearly completed, and never communicated to me, until I called, the reasons they did not start the second job. Also, the gas to my stove was not turned back on, so I had to pull the stove out to open the valve, there was a mess everywhere, the vent had a huge leak in it, and they left my front door unlocked. I spoke with the Scott, the owner, and he was responsive. They returned the following day to complete the vinyl siding repair, and I am happy overall with the quality of work, but again there was a mess in the front of my house. I would use them again but please have the understanding that they are on a set, time limitation and will not spend the time to clean up properly. It is an overall good value, and again their craftsmanship was decent.

Overall the two carpenters were courteous and did a decent job. There was some wood filing that I asked them to complete and they were quick to do that job. They lacked done material for replacing a wood rot piece, so they weren't able to get to painting the repair spot in time.
Description of Work: Replace fascia board and wood rot.
I have been a member of Angie's List for going on 2 years and to be quite honest this is my first negative experience. I gave this service provider an "A" for punctuality because the two painters showed up within the scheduled time frame (7-9 AM; arrived approx. 8:30AM). I also scored them high in overall responsiveness. However, the overall result of the painting efforts is quite dismal. I had two rooms to be painted but the painters only managed to "complete" 1 living room space (22'L X 13'W X 8'H) and by "complete" I mean barely finished walls and some trim=no doors and I had instructed no ceiling. 8 hours of combined labor resulted in an "unfinished" product. I understand that my space was painted a darker color and I could readily forgive the time that it took away from getting to the other room since the walls required more than a single coat of paint, however, it is the several other issues that result in the low ranking. The trim work looks like an amateur tackled it, a single coat but with trim color bleeding all over the wall color and some areas completely missed; there is this thing called painters tape that should have been used as it was supposed to have been included in the package. Minor nail holes were not spackled; also supposed to have been included. They didn't even paint any doors, or trim around the doors, etc. They left an unfinished edge around several of the wall outlets that was way too large, leaving more painting fixes for me to correct. I have never seen such poor workmanship---I am just floored really. To put this in comparison, I hired a similar job from Angie's List a few weeks ago and a single painter completed (3) rooms, doors, trim, AND ceilings in the same amount of time and the job was professional and of the highest caliber. I was hoping that HCC Remodeling would be equivalent. I have already received comments that the job looks like a child painted the walls. I don't think the owner could come over here and look at the result and then look me in the eye and say this was quality work. Oh, and to top things off, when I went downstairs after the painters had departed, I noticed that they had plugged in my wall oil diffuser upside down--half a bottle of scented oil had spilled into my carpet.

Brent and TJ from HCC Remodeling were wonderful. I had missed one of their emails to provide pictures of the jobs that needed to be complete and was only able to mail it the day before they came. They were able to come earlier than our scheduled time after calling ahead and helped us get the rotting wood around our door replaced. They helped us purchase the materials for the rotting wood replacement and the boards for our back fence. Both Brent and TJ were very professional and friendly. My husband felt really comfortable around them and we both think that the quality of their work was amazing. We have several other projects we need done around the house and plan to call them for those as well. Thanks so much!
Description of Work: The provider replaced the rotting wood around my door way and helped us nail in two missing boards from our fence.
Is it possible to not like these guys? They arrived on time with a can-do attitude. They worked smart and hard for the time allotted, cranking out almost all the projects I had queued up for the day. The only things that didn't get finished were due to environmental factors (today's rain made the drywall mud slow to dry) or because their (informed and appreciated) advice and suggestions made me re-think a few tasks. They were personable, shared pointers, and best part, they're skilled at a few other jobs I need done (tiling and wood rot repair) so I know exactly who I'm going to call for those jobs based on this positive experience.
Description of Work: Replaced existing attic stairs with a new unit, re-balanced exterior French doors to open and close easily repaired deteriorating drywall, and installed a Soffit vent.

I contacted this company a couple times in January to come out and look at a door. They sent someone out to look at it, but after that, they became very hard to get a hold of. A month and a half later, I emailed them asking for a quote, and was told they'd get back to me the next day. I didn't hear from them. They blamed Angie's List for not properly notifying them, but this was after I had already spoken to the company myself. His excuse was that, because of the Big Deal, they had become very busy. I was able to cut them some slack during the colder months as this was an outdoor job, but why post an outdoor Big Deal if they are unwilling to do it? I looked later and saw that they had posted yet another Big Deal but had still not done the job for me. I have asked Angie's List for my money back.

I am sorry you fee,l we neglected you. The techs whom arrived at your home to repair the rotted wood, were told you had decided that you wanted a new door instead. So we awaited you to contact us, that you had purchased a new door and for us to come and install it. I once again apologize for any confusion but we were awaiting you to contact us when you had purchased a new door. The big deal you purchase was scheduled for the trim to be replaced on your door. Via emails on the Angie's list page. Since we were never contacted about you having a new door there was no reason to reschedule you. We have already expended gas, time and money but having out tech's told to leave on your scheduled day. We were more than willing to come back and take care of your wood rot and install of the door but were never contact in any way by you letting us know you had purchased the door to be installed.

The work was done in a professional manner. The two contractors were neat and efficient. They arrived on time and completed the work as described in the Statement of Work.
Description of Work: Paint a family room and kitchen
We paid extra because of materials and that makes sense. It went fine. We had weather issues at first that were overcome in the spring HCC Found the wood rot and then figured out what was needed and purchased material and then installed new material as needed. Some areas were very large and they did a fantastic job with the side of the garage. They discovered another area that they did not have time to repair. We were having painters come who were able to replace the window piece and make the repair before painting.

It was okay. It was average. I was not really happy with the company. I do not think we are going to bring them back again.
