Best money ever spent! I had a wonderful time chatting with him while he worked and look forward to getting an estimate on my bathroom remodel. Greg showed up 5 minutes before the appointment time and was extremely knowledgable and professional. He loves what he does and was extremely pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend. I am a Realtor and look forward to passing on HCC's information to my clients as well as using him for all my home inspection punch out items!
Description of Work: Greg installed 3 new bath fixtures in the home.

They were punctual and professional. Told me it would be very expensive to do what I wanted to do and gave me alternatives if I wanted to reconsider my plan, which I did. It was a pleasure to have someone here who not only knew what they were doing, but took pride in it as well.

The guys arrived right on time. They told me what could be done in the time allotted (I bought a "big deal" and it had a fixed amount of time attached to it) and what could not. They went to Home Depot and bought the paint I needed, returned promptly and completed the work. I had an appointment and had to leave; when I returned they had finished and cleaned up and the work looked great. The rotten wood was gone and the new wood was in place and painted.
Description of Work: Replaced and painted rotten wood on the exterior of my home.
It went great. As a single homeowner that worked a lot. He was very courteous to my time restraints. He came over, looked at what needed done and told me he would get back with me on an estimate. I was surprised he got back to me the next day. We worked around my schedule. He showed up, I was alone. He went right to work. I felt comfortable with just the two of us there. He cleaned up everything. He was very professional and easy to communicate with. I was/am very pleased and will use him in the future.
Description of Work: The owner replaced drywall and painted two full interior walls.

The guys arrived very punctually at 9:00 am on a Saturday as previously scheduled. They discussed the project with me and got right to work. I only had a couple of 4' x 8' wood panels on hand and additional plywood sheets were needed to complete the job. They calculated what was required for me to purchase very precisely, resulting in very little left over. It took the two of them four hours to complete the job which worked out exactly to the eight hours of labor for which I paid. The job overall turned out quite well. I think they ended up hurrying a bit to finish the job in the allotted time as a couple of trim pieces were not nailed down completely. If I had to nit pick, there were also a couple of gaps where the wood was not cut just right but not really anything to complain about. The end result looks like wood paneling on all walls. I later painted the paneling bright white and it it looks great. The only real complaint is that one of the guys smoked while working inside the garage and the smell made its way into the house. It seemed odd that he didn't even ask if it was okay to smoke, especially inside the garage. I also found a couple of cigarette butts on the floor as I swept up later and this is the reason for the "C" in professionalism. Otherwise, I would have given them an "A" in this category.
Description of Work: I purchased 8 hours of labor via a special offer from HCC Remodeling on Angie's List to finish a project which consisted of installing thin outdoor plywood-type paneling on the inside walls of the garage to cover damaged unpainted drywall.

I called spoke to the owner of the company. A nice guy. Made the appointment. Asked me to send the list of potential projects, which I did. They came by, even though they were a half hour late, began work promptly. Did not mind answering question, while working. Had the correct tools with them for the job. Used up the time effectively allotted for the four man hours. They completed the original task in less then 3 hours. They also gave me some estimates on some other projects if I should decide to use them again, which I WOULD recommend them again. I forget the two men name, but they were nice guys.
Description of Work: The came by, put up attic steps, patched a hole in the wall, and replaced vanity sink.
They did a really good job! I did not contact them as part of a "Big Deal" but I had noticed they had a Big Deal offering up and that is what led me to check out their company reputation and web site. We had already purchased the doors and needed someone to install them. We had looked up some installation estimates available in a general sense, and so had some idea of the probable cost, but had not had any estimates done for this specific set of doors. I called the company and requested an estimate, and was given a date we could accommodate and that they could guarantee to come - but I was hopeful they might squeeze in an estimate two days earlier. I said I would understand if they could not, but encouraged them to try (okay, I begged)... and they did! My husband met them for the estimate and must have been positively impressed since he immediately requested them to return to do the job. This was not an easy nor conventional installation because the doors needed to go in between very old, large hand hewn upright beams so that the surfaces were not smooth nor entirely straight. On the top was an iron I beam and below was concrete and brick. The three spaces varied in size, too. The two gentlemen who showed up for this job were Mike and Scott, and they worked quickly and communicated with us to seek input as to our preferences, which I consider an especially important trait. In the final analysis, the doors work smoothly and line up and latch well, and we intend to request that they come back to do work for us again. We've finally found our "favorite handymen". I will try to post photos which will give some idea of the challenges. Please do not consider the finishing details of the final product as we told them we wanted to do those ourselves - after we'd given it some consideration as to exactly what we wanted. The frame, for instance, will be painted... Consider, instead, the peculiarity of the opening - which provided unusual challenges.
Description of Work: They framed in and installed three Anderson French doors and faced the surround with siding.

They replaced & painted the decorative molding above my 3rd floor window. They replaced & painted some molding above my front door. And, they caulked all around my kitchen bay window. And, they recommended what size and where to buy another frame piece to my front door - for next year if needed.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. When we finally got the date worked out, the work was done very well, very quickly and very easily. It all worked out. We had some scheduling issues. I had gone out and purchased the materials myself based on what I was told that we needed. Evidently I wasn't bright enough to figure out that wasn't what we needed; that was me saying that, not them. Everything went really well. They were great. I couldn't ask for better. The only extra cost was for the materials. Fortunately I could take the stuff back that I bought so that wasn't a big deal. The price was good.
Description of Work: I used HCC Remodeling to replace some rotting woodwork on the house.
We purchased a townhouse that needed quite a bit of work. HCC sent us two professionals who arrived exactly on time. They replaced a total of three vanity tops for the bathrooms and also installed three bathroom sink faucets. They installed a total of five overhead light fixtures which involved removing the old ones plus an old ceiling fan. They also removed the kitchen sink so that I can do a countertop project. They also installed a copper line for an icemaker. These jobs went slightly over the four hours and I had them stay for another hour. I was impressed with the amount of work they did in such a short time. When they arrived, they began working immediately. These men, along with one other person, have been working together for over 20 years. I would absolutely use them again. One thing that is important is that I was not aware of when I purchased the four hours, the clock did not start when they arrived at our home. The clock actually started when they got in their van so the travel time was applied to the four hours. I feel that this is something that should be included in the fine print of the deal.
Description of Work: Several jobs for a townhouse we own. I purchased an Angie's special of $299 General Contractor for a Day.

When I emailed him some suggestions for dates to do the work he informed us that those dates would not work. He also told us we would have to supply the materials ourselves. It seemed like he wasn’t willing to work with us.

The project went very well. The duct work was triangular and went up the basement wall in the back corner through the dining room back corner. Walling it in would be a challenge. They arrived on time, measured the job area, ran off to get the materials and returned quickly. Their measurements and cuts were accurate. They used the leftover materials to replace some rotten drywall that concealed the duct work running along the floor. They finished on time and did more work than expected. Overall, a very deal for the price.

The whole process was dream come true. Before I had a carport open to the weather and so were my motorcycle's. A neighbor told me about HCC Remodeling. She had them work on her house and highly recommended them. So I called them. Well she was right they came to my home surveyed my project and gave me a bid that fit my budget. They made it look so easy. Plans, permits and turning my once wet an windy carport into a dry an organized garage. I thought it would take longer to do,but once the permits were pulled they rocked my world. material showed on the due day an WOW I had walls. they framed the walls built the doors and built the shelving so I could organize all my stuff for easy access. Found the siding to match my existing. Now my motorcycle's are in a dry clean space not exposed to the weather and they did it all on time and for the price they quoted. No surprises no hidden fees. they showed up on time every day. they were vary friendly an polite. They were vary professional they had a job to do and they actually finished a day early to my surprise and joy. Now I have a speed dial setting for HCC Remodeling due to the fact they also have a handyman service within their company. Take it from me I have used other contractors in the past and have been burned and abused, but HCC Remodeling was painless and worth the call. I wished I knew of them years ago I'd have more hair now if I did.
Description of Work: HCC drew the plans for permits, pulled permits and supplied all materials an labor to close my carport in and turn it into a garage with shelving so I can organize my clutter.
I highly recommend HCC Remodeling and their team of experts for any home improvement projects to anyone who needs quality professional work at reasonable rates that can be trusted. HCC made it easy for me as an investor due to their extensive construction experience. They were able to complete the entire project without the need of hiring a 2nd or 3rd contractor. Teardown and removal, framing, wiring, plumbing, drywall, painting and cabinet installation was completed to perfection!!!!!!!! It was refreshing to be able to discuss design ideas with Scott and receive his recommendations on how to improve my vision. I will continue to contract with HCC for all my future home improvement needs. I give them a thumbs up. Their work is beautiful.
They went above and beyond! When HCC discovered quest pipe behind my walls they removed it all and replaced with new PVC pipe. It was also discovered that the diverter had not been framed in behind the shower wall and had compromised the shower and also caused it to leak. They framed in the diverter, installed a new showerhead, poured new concrete, laid thick plastic halfway up the walls, and then created a custom design for the tile shower. There was enough tile that they took it all the way to the ceiling. They were pleasant, informative, cooperative and in general a pleasure with which to work. I would definitely use them again!
Description of Work: HCC Remodeling tore out my master shower enclosure that was leaking into my basement laundry room and built a new, custom tile shower.
