Basement Masters Waterproofing

We had tons of mud and water in our basement and called Basement Masters for an assessment. The person who came out was extremely professional, friendly, and spent a lot of time with us answering all of our questions, and continued the follow up via email after the visit. His bid was by far the easiest to read and seemed to provide the best quality materials. As an independent company, they do not force particular products on you - they choose what they think is best. We ultimately did not use this company because a recommended repair resolved most of our water issues. If we had chosen to do a complete waterproofing I would have chosen this company. We interviewed at least 5 different companies for this type of work.

Very well. We've used Basement Masters many times for our waterproofing needs- I am a GC that finishes basements and in need of waterproofing several times each year before we start the finishing.

Extremely hard working crew that did a great job digging some difficult trenches and estimating grade angles, installing french drains and channel drains. Basement Masters provided the best pricing and best work by far of the 6 companies I interviewed. Randall was very knowledgeable and courteous and his crew was A++ Diligent, very very hard working

The drainage improvement work went extremely well. Basement Maters was the best of three quotes I got for the work. Their plan considered all rain water run off sources including gutter down spouts, rain run off from the neighbor’s yard, and where my water would drain. All work was completed as expected and the work crew consulted with me on details such as the location of the drain pot in the back yard and length of trenches to collect water. Areas of the yard that were dug up were returned to their previous condition. The improvement drained the heavy rains during the summer. I now can grow grass in my lower back yard. Excellent work!

The work was performed in a professional and conscientious manner. From the initial estimate to the completed work, Randall and his crew were courteous, responsive and performed a messy task with the utmost care and skill.

As a real estate investor, wet basements are a common problem. I have used Basement Masters Waterproofing on 3 separate projects. They are punctual, knowledgable, professional and their prices are very competitive. They are always accurate in determining and solving the water issues. I am confident in their advice and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They were quick to come out and assess the issue and gave us an estimate very quickly. The estimate was a bit higher than other competitors but they were the most prompt in their response. They were able to fix the crack in one day and the leak is fixed!

Sharif was thorough, honest, informative and polite. He looked at all the different areas and elements that could have caused the problem. All the while showing me and explaining to me the dynamics involved in the water intrusion. He concluded the slight moisture problem would be solved by a new sump pump. That no other work was needed. Since they do bigger jobs he wrote down the pump I would need and advised me to have a plumber do it. How honest. I would definitely hire them if I need their services.

Took a little bit of time to get the consult and then work done (this was also in the middle of the huge rains we had in the DC area in July) but it was worth the wait! Out of three estimates Basement Masters was the only one to keep the work outside, which I preferred over water coming in and then being pushed out of the basement. Sharif was also prompt with the consultation appointment, not pushy with the sales, and informative and detailed about the planned work. The planned work was middle of the road in terms of costs. Overall really happy with Basement Masters Waterproofing and would recommend to anyone looking for waterproofing services!

Our sump pump was installed earlier than the original appointment date, and work was done quickly, professionally, and well. When there was residual dampness found at the follow up, the crew came back, assessed, and fixed the problem within a week. All communication during the hiring and work process was clear and professional. This is a solid company and crew with an excellent work ethic that knows their business.

I found a foundation crack and leak that was on one wall in our storage room of the basement. Basement Masters came out and took a look, explained what needed to be done and after things thawed out a bit in the spring, works was performed. Foundation by house was excavated, sealed and a drain put in. Guys were as neat as you can be with six feet of muddy earth to deal with. WE are time and very professional. Leak was mostly cleared up but still had some seepage as spring wore on, so they came back out and epoxyed the inside wall where the leak was. I was told this should have been done at the time the original work was completed but was overlooked. But they handled it promptly and so far no water since (fingers crossed). It's been a fairly dry summer so we will see how the fall goes. Communication was primarily by email and left messages for Basement Masters. I had read other reviews that the communication with BM needed to be better and I'd have to agree after my experience. Actual work and professionalism was great, but communication still needs to be better, which is the only reason I did not give a 5 for Responsiveness.

They excavated the exterior of the foundation by hand, identified the problem, reparired the leak and replaced the excavated material.

Our basement flooded in May of 2018 so we were looking for a solution to prevent that from happening again. We contacted 3 companies for quotes. Basement Masters visited our home, evaluated our needs and provided a quote. Basement Masters explained the source of our problem and the solution they proposed in detail. They then emailed us a detailed plan and a quote. Basement Masters provided the best price plus we were the most comfortable with their plan. We were responsible for moving everything away from the walls to make room for them to work. But Basement Masters took great care in covering everything and sealing off the area to limit the spread of dust. Basement Masters communicated very well letting us know when they would arrive, and one day when they would be late. The crew was very proficient and professional. They kept everything neat, cleaned up every day and hauled away all the debris. We were very happy with our experience with Basement Masters, and would definitely recommend them.

I contracted Basement Master’s Waterproofing to fill two cracks that started near the bottom of my basement window. I also asked them to install a new sump pump basin (jackhammering foundation floor needed) and installing a new sump pump. The crew showed up at 3 pm and I was worried they would be done by 5:30 when my wife got home. They got all the work done. Even re-routed my sump pump exit line closer to the wall. The price was higher than another company that got me a quote, but the work was completed extremely fast and they took the time to do the extras (smoothing concrete perfectly, re-running the sump pump line) without me asking. They were out the door by 5 pm. I highly recommend anyone to use them.

The project went perfectly from estimate until completion. The service level was really high and Basement Masters delivered on the solution they promised. They were also one of the best priced alternatives. I would highly recommend them.

All went well. The foreman and the owner were both pleasant people to real with. And I called the company several times and they were easy to contact.

Great experience. The previous reviews were spot-on. This company is great at helping with unique situations and considering your specific needs, rather than try to fit a standard solution to your problem. Of all the companies from which I requested a proposal, Sharif from Basement Masters Waterproofing was the only one who took the time to measure and actually listen to my concerns and suggestions. This is entirely unlike the other highly-rated Angie's List big business from which I requested an estimate, who sent a young marketing guy out who produced a fancy folder, did not really listen (just kept saying "yeah, we can do that, and we'll throw in some other things at no additional cost"), took no measurements and provided an outrageous quote. Our water entry problem was unique, and included an exterior basement stairwell landing that was slightly higher than the basement floor. I wanted the landing lowered with a new drain that would go through our stairwell wall directly into our existing sump pump. After much thought and another trip back Sharif said the space was too small for tools to get under the footer through the wall but they could route it through the doorway and around for no extra cost. They were very sensitive to budget and worked within my previous perimeter trenching system, while moving our sump pit away from an electrical panel and enlarging it to fit our pump and battery back-up better. They were prompt, arrived on time and finished in one day as expected. Extremely satisfied!

Basement masters did well. First they carefully moved the shrubs & mulch near the foundation a few feet away onto a tarp. Then dug down to the foundation footer. The next day they resealed the foundation wall and returned the bushes and mulch to their original positions. Done on time and on price. Clean professional job and no worries about the leaky basement anymore.
