Both the owner, Bill, and the technician, Bob, were wonderful to deal with. They were very prompt to contact us and schedule the appointment. The work was done quickly and very neatly. I would not hesitate to use them again and recommend their company without reservation. I wish more businesses had the same work ethic!

I received excellent service from time I called to inquire their services to the day of service. I plan to use this company on a reoccurring basis and would highly recommend them to my friends and family. Not only did I receive excellent service but the technician, Bob, educated me on the process and provided a quick overview how my fireplace worked which I was unaware. I can now use a remote to operate my fireplace! You will not go wrong selecting this company.

Bill Yeager arrived at our home Thursday evening as planned, and proceeded to cover the carpeting around the fireplace to prevent anything from getting dirty or stained. We have an unusual gas line connection size, enabling Bill to apply is skill, ingenuity and adequate supply of connectors to solve the problem. He was meticulous in ensuring that all gas log components were installed properly; took the time to carefully explain how to ignite the pilot light as necessary; and hauled away all the old parts. Being an extrovert, Bill made us feel as if we have known him for years. We are very happy with the Texas Stack gas log that he installed. It's comforting to know that we can call him anytime to obtain authoritative advice and assistance if needed. We have a great deal of trust in Bill as a technical expert in his field and in his enviable work ethic. I can understand why he has received about 100 outstanding reviews on Angie's List. Very quick to respond and were able to come to the property within 3 days, assess the situation and order and install new gas fireplace logs.

I messaged several providers - Bill was by far and away the most responsive. He initially responded that he had received my message and would be able to call me in about an hour. When he called, we discussed what I needed done - basic check up and tuning of gas fireplace, plus I was concerned I might have a small gas leak. His schedule was pretty tight but he really worked with me to find a time to come out. Because of jobs already committed to, his associate Bob came out - on Saturday early evening. They understood my concern about a possible leak, and that my work schedule didn't allow me to have flexibility during the week. Bob let me know in advance that he might be able to squeeze me in end of the day on Saturday on his way back from another job, but wouldn't know until the last minute. I had been so pleased with the level of communication that I decided that I would work with these guys. Bob called late afternoon and said his other job had taken a bit longer, but if I was still interested he would come by ... about 5:30pm. Bob was great. He was very professional, very direct, he did find a small leak and tightened a bolt ... no attempt to make it more than it was. He replaced the embers and cleaned the glass - the fireplace looked new. I had some friends over while he was here - he was genuinely polite and considerate of the folks around. I was extremely pleased with the service and appreciated the extra effort to find a way to get out when it would work with my schedule.

I called Yeager on Dec. 31 and told them I needed a repairman to look at my gas fireplace. I often could not get it lit and it would not stay lit when I did. They said that someone would call me and set up a time and day to come out. I then received a call later that day and Bill said that he had a cancellation and could stop in and look at my fireplace on his way home. He came over and determined that my pilot needed a good cleaning and after he did that, the fireplace worked great. He also cleaned the glass panels in my fireplace door. He took precautions to keep everything clean and was very professional and pleasant to work with. I would definitely call them again and would recommend them highly. You can tell they take pride in their company and their work.

They were very responsive, reasonable and professional. I was more then pleased with how good the fireplace looked/worked when Bob was done servicing it. Definitely would will use them again and suggest to anyone who needs service on their gas FP, use Yeager!

The provider came to my house quickly. Fixed items that I didn't even see were wrong with no additional charge. He was polite and very neat and thoroughly cleaned the area where he worked.

I would give them a very high rating.They checked out the remote and said we really didn't need to replace it. They put in new batteries. They were very reasonable. That visit was $159. They came the next day because the fireplace wasn't working. I talked to the owner. They were real busy the first time because it was right before Thanksgiving and the second time was right at Christmas. He didn't charge for the service call because we had wanted to buy a new remote the first time. The owner's name was Bill. He personally came himself. We bought the fireplace 7 or 8 years ago from another company. The total charge was $280 and the company that put in the fireplace wanted $890 for the same service.

The technician, Bill, was outstanding. He scheduled my visit on short notice, consistently communicated to let me know when he would arrive, worked late just a few hours before Christmas Eve, and did superior work. A+.

We had had a slight smell of gas but after a thorough cleaning, the fireplace looked and smelled great.

After being told by my HVAC company, about a year ago, that it looks like we needed a new gas valve which may be close to $2,000 for this particular valve because it's an older valve, it's not in stock anymore, etc, and not wanting to pay $165 just for a fireplace company to come out and inspect/provide a diagnostic, I decided to wait a year before addressing this situation (our other fireplace had an issue with the receiver for the remote, the only way to start that one without opening it up and playing around with the wiring). Upon reading the great reviews on Angie's List for Yeager Gas which included a situation similar to ours, I contacted Bill Yeager the second week of November and he was able to meet me at our house just a few nights later ("nights", as in he works nights as well - beyond 7pm I might add). When I mentioned the situation to him on the phone he mentioned he has heard that before and wanted to come out to have a look himself and that it sounded like he'd be able to get it going without replacing the gas valve. Bill arrived on time, was very professional, and sure enough, got it going in less than an hour. The issue was a melted gas valve which Bill replaced practically free of charge. He also threw in some rockwool and cleaned it up. Bill then replaced the entire remote control unit on the upstairs fireplace (for a reasonable fee), cleaned it up, and went the extra mile again by taking the glass door off a 2nd time because he noticed a very visible, small piece of debris on the base of the fireplace just inside the glass door. He then put the glass door back on and cleaned up everything before leaving of course. As to price, very reasonable - in fact, considerably more affordable than three other reputable places I contacted from Angie's List. $159 for 1st fireplace (safety inspection, cleaning, basic repairs) & 69 for 2nd fireplace. I would absolutely call Bill again for any and all fireplace needs.

I found him through Angie's List. He was the most reasonably priced. He was a great guy, great service and a great company. I recommend him highly.

Didn't go smoothly. Part of the problem was the tenant in the property was apparently having difficulty receiving calls on his phone(s), when the contractor tried to contact him to service the fireplace. Once the fireplace was repaired - a problem with the pilot light - the tenant stated that the pilot light still was not adjusted properly and asked if the contractor could return. I understand that the tenant isn't an expert on fireplaces. What was disappointing was the way the contractor handled the situation. He was defensive, though his repairman initially caused confusion by going to the wrong address, and, once paid, he was less than excited about returning to the property to check out the fireplace pilot light. The tenant eventually told the contractor not to bother with returning. We are property managers and thus deal with numerous contractors. We like for our contractors to be responsive, do quality work, and stand behind their work. We don't want to argue with a contractor over standing behind his work. In those situations we'll find another contractor.

I emailed the company to see if they might be in my area in the next few weeks. They replied to my email the same day and said they might be in my area later in the week and might be able to fit me in. They came on a Friday, late afternoon. Communication with the company was excellent, and so was the tech they sent. He was competent and cleaned up after himself, and answered all my questions. I was extremely pleased as I had a different outfit put it in for me and do a check after the first year. I will definitely stay with Yeager, in fact I plan to do the yearly service agreement with them. Highly recommend!

Bob (the serviceman) came out in early November and cleaned our fireplace, including the glass doors. However, he advised that we should replace the existing gas logs. His recommendation had been expected by us. They were 19 years old and operation had become problematic. Bob was timely, friendly and knowledgeable. We contacted Bill, the owner, who gave us a quote of $1200 for a new fireplace set (vs $1600 from another company). Our fireplace is small (24" logs), so a larger one would likely cost more. He gave us a choice of different sets to consider, and we chose one from the internet which was an upgrade from the basic set. We established a date for installation. Bill called us twice that day to keep us posted on his schedule, and when he arrived he accomplished the installation in less than 2 hours. In addition, he was both friendly and very professional, and he left us feeling very good about the whole transaction. We will use his maintenance and cleaning services again in the future, and I highly recommend him and his company.

It's hard to find a business nowadays that has a work ethic. I highly recommend his services.

About a year and a half ago we were told during our home inspection that the gas fireplace was likely not working. My husband and I decided that we should have it checked out this year to see if we could use it or whether we needed to replace it. I called Yeager Gas Fireplace Service and left a message. Within a few hours I received a call back in which all my information was taken. A couple hours after that I received another call from Bill to discuss scheduling an appointment, which was only 4 days later. Bob was the technician who came out and he called me in the morning to confirm I was on his schedule and then called me when he was on his way to my appointment later that day. Bob was very polite, professional and worked calmly even though it was late in the day; he was not rushed. He placed paper over the hearth area and pulled out everything that was in the way of the pilot light so that he could carefully examine it's function. He cleaned the thermal coupling, the pilot line and removed excessive rock wool. Once he lit the pilot he took the time to ensure that it was working properly and that when turned on all the way it lit the logs and wool rock well and naturally. He showed us how to use the unit as well as the blower which is on a separate switch. At one point I was even a little confused by his instructions so he opened the screen and showed me step by step, again very patiently. (I am very nervous around gas units) He left the area perfectly clean, took his time, and was very patient and kind. We genuinely appreciate his honesty and hard work and will definitely use them for our annual check up next year!

The person from Yeager arrived exactly at the scheduled time. He cleaned the entire fireplace including all the logs and the glass screen which was really really dirty. The logs are an older set and he could have attempted to sell us new ones, but instead got ours in good working order, assuring us we would be good to go this season as is. Very professional.

I had recently moved to a new house and the gas fireplace was not working. I'm new to gas fireplaces (only had a wood burner before) so after some fiddling myself decided to call a professional. I called several other companies and they didn't have appointments for over a month or were priced much higher. I initially called and left a message with the receptionist for an appointment. After not hearing back for several days, I figured this was another small operation too busy to respond to customers. However, I ended up receiving a call from the owner who let me know that his receptionist had quit a few days before and he ended up going to through great effort (including calling Verizon) to get the phone numbers of all customers who had called to return their calls and schedule appointments. Impressive! I was able to get an appointment the following week and the owner was very flexible with scheduling around my travel schedule. On the day of the appointment, the technician Bob called me in the morning to let me know when he would be at my house. He showed up according to schedule and performed the service. He was good about explaining what he was doing and answering all my questions. Although this was not a complicated assignment, I was impressed with the tenacity of the owner in making sure my call was returned and the professionalism of the technician.

Prior to the appointment day, I got a call to confirm and inform me that the tech would contact me when it was close to my appointment time. Sure enough, the day of, the tech called me to say he was about 10 minutes out. When he arrived, I brought him down to my fireplace. As he set up his equipment and paper (to protect the floor), he asked me to explain what problems I was having. The entire time he was servicing my fireplace, he walked me through everything he was doing - from how to open up the glass to get access to the logs & pilot light; testing the read-outs; cleaning out the pilot light & explaining how it can get dirty; replacing the insulation that was used for the "embers"; locating the problem that was causing the sudden shut-off (malfunctioning emergency shut-off lever that should be pushed in by the glass door; and how to properly clean the glass without getting permanent streaks (no Windex!!). He also even told me how, come next spring when I was done using the fireplace, I could repaint the interior to spruce it up (I don't think the fireplace had ever been inspected or cleaned in its 15 years); and how to close off the large opening where the gas pipe ran in to prevent mice from coming in. He was completely professional and efficient, and very informative. He was even completely honest when I asked for his opinion on whether it's better to leave the pilot light on or off once winter was over (his opinion, if you're gonna get it serviced every year, you can shut it off; if not, leave the light on...the additional gas cost is minimal). Overall, I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing any type of service or repair to their gas fireplace.

It took 2 weeks to get an appointment and then they didn't show up the day we were scheduled. They claimed they were overbooked. They came another day and it was overpriced.They cleaned the fireplace and left smears all over the glass. Now my gas fireplace has a slight 30 second delay beore it comes on. They had great rating on this site but I didn't see it. Very disappointed in the service,

Great/First Rate!! Had a little trouble at first with a call back. Tech was very professional, courtious, and answered all our questions. Would recommend to all. Will call them again when needed.

The technician arrived on time. He explained everything that he would be doing to perform the check-up which included making sure all parts were working properly, replacing old batteries with new ones, and cleaning entire fireplace. He was quite professional. The price for this service was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Yeager Gas Fireplace.
