Yeager Gas Fireplace Service

Great. Bill came out, diagnosed the problem, gave me the part number to buy, and came back to install. Very pleasant experience.

Very well. I've sued Yeager Gas Fireplace since it's birth as a company. Experienced, dependable and honest.

Bill knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. Cleaned it up, tuned it up and it is working perfectly! He even replaced the control knob.

I will not hesitate to call them next year for my check-up!

I had previously used Yeager a few years ago, but I couldn't recall the name. When I found the receipt, I emailed on a Monday evening. I got a response that evening, and Bill was able to fit me in the next evening. He seems to work late afternoon into the evening, so I didn't have to take off work to meet him. Was prompt and knew what he was doing. He's a little quirky, but that's OK. he did a good job, for a reasonable price, and cleaned up after himself. I will likely have him back when the weather is better to paint part of the fireplace per his suggestions.

Bill was very friendly and worked quickly to complete the job.

It took a few phone calls to reach a woman on a cell phone (not sure what her name was but she was driving in a car). She said a technician would call me back to schedule the service. Around 8pm the technician (Chris) called me and said he would be at the house "in the morning" and would call when he was on his way. Around 11am I had not heard back so I called him, and he said he was on a job, but I was next on the list and he would call me when he was on his way. At 12:30pm, still no call so I called him to find out what was going on. This time Chris told me he had several jobs in front of me that were delayed from the day before. No apology. I informed him that I was heading to the airport at 2pm, and then he asked whether he could show up at 2pm for the job. You get the idea. Don't waste your time on this company.

The appointment was easy to schedule--the office had one of their technicians, Christopher, call to set a time. At his request, we scheduled for a Sunday afternoon, and he agreed to call me the day before to specify a time. I had not heard from him by Saturday evening, despite sending a text message and leaving a voicemail. I called again on Sunday morning, and Christopher called me back shortly thereafter to say that his phone was damaged, and that he had to cancel the service call because all of his customer information was on the phone. While this was frustrating, things happen and we rescheduled for the next evening. On Monday evening, he was supposed to arrive at 7pm--he even called earlier in the day to confirm the time. I called him at 7:10pm, and he said he was 10 minutes away. I called again at 7:25, and he told me that he put our address in his GPS incorrectly, and would be at least 15 minutes away. I cancelled the service call at that time. I emailed the owner of the company, Bill Yeager, about what had happened and he called me almost immediately. While he had been apologetic for the Sunday cancellation, he became very defensive about his technician being late. While I understand that jobs can go longer than expected, at no time was Christopher proactive in telling me he was running late--or why. And when he did say he was 10 minutes away, it turned out to be untrue. The owner continued to insist that the technician was still willing to do the job, but after missing two service appointments, I was not comfortable with the level of service. Mr. Yeager also went on at great length about how hard it is to find good, reliable technicians. I had a good experience with Yeager in the past, but this really turned me off. We are taking our business elsewhere in the future.

The service was excellent. Our pilot light was clogged and the service man cleaned the pilot light as well as all other parts of the firplace. Very pleased with the service!

Technician was very good and clearly explained all issues of operation. Worth the money and hard to find specialists like this. Would use them again.

Tech was on time and courteous, and was willing to answer questions. Kept everything clean, and finished quickly.

The service guy was courteous, efficient, and technically sound. He gladly answered questions. I would recommend these guys without reservation.

We needed our fireplace cleaned. At first, Chris came to the house on time, was courteous and polite and cleaned the fireplace. However, the flame was no more than what appeared as red ambers. I called Bill and he offered to come over that day (which we couldn't do). Bill came around and cleaned out one part that Chris had overlooked. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our fireplace has NEVER looked this good. We are extremely pleased. If I could, I would give them an A+.

9/15/15 update: I am happy to report that the fireplace has been fixed and is fully functional. Thank you! ======== I am not sure how to rate them. Their service responsiveness was excellent but their follow through was non-existent. Yeager was very prompt - calling me on a Sunday (Nov 30th) as soon as I made the online appointment (through Angies). They were on time the very next day to inspect and troubleshoot my fireplace. The technician found that my gas fireplace required a remote receiver. I paid for their visit and diagnosis. The technician said he would order the part through their dealer. He did caution me that it could take a couple of weeks. I was ok with it as long as I could get my gas fireplace fixed before the holidays. Unfortunately, I did not get the tech's name or contact info. That's where their 'service' ended. After a few weeks and calls to their office, my calls were not returned and I got no feedback on the status of the remote receiver that was ordered. I was even told that I would get an email notification from the company as soon as the part was available (when the tech left on Dec 1st). To this day - 4+ months after their initial visit, I have not received any word from their office. I was holding off writing a review as I was not wanting to ding them. May be my experience is an exception and since it involved buying additional parts it has taken them so long... Would have at least appreciated a call back to let me know of the status. We had to go through a harsh winter without using our fireplace as we were waiting... I hope they see this review and call me back - please refer to your tech's visit on Dec 1st.

It was good. They were prompt and got the job done. They were very professional.

Everything went fine. They removed the old logs and took them away.

It went well. The owner, Bill came out. He took pride in his work and did a good job. I was extra pleased he was willing to come out to Ashburn as he's all the way out in Stafford/Fredericksburg area. He got our fireplace working again and cleaned it well so it looks much nicer. We are new to gas fireplaces and he gave me helpful answers to all of my questions. Personable guy.

After several phone calls, I finally gave up. My Technician never called me back. I called the company and they said he would call and I never heard from them again. I really wanted to like this company but I can say I got better service from the company that I did go with. The tech actually called me and showed up on time. Yeager did nothing.

Technician did a great job but I got a curious message today on my phone that this guy no longer worked for the company and they wanted to know if the work was done or not. I wrote a check to the company so why they called was a bit weird. I found out that the technician was no longer with the company effective the date he came to my house, when I pointed that out, I was told it happened that evening. Very strange but no complaints with work done. The tech seemed a very nice man.

We emailed Yeager Gas Fireplace over the weekend looking for a second opinion after another highly rated Angie's List contractor failed to impress us. That other contractor, who didn't seem to know what he was doing, quoted us $800 to repair our fireplace's pilot assembly (including $100 to add some extra "embers"). Bill responded to my email quickly and guessed that only the thermocouple needed replacement; he quoted $329 for the parts and labor, and said he'd have his Mendota specialist, Andrew, get in touch. Andrew replaced the thermocouple, did a really nice job cleaning the fireplace, and even added some new embers, all for the promised $329. Great customer service and very, very pleased with the price and the work done. Trust me, these are the guys you want to call.

After a slight issue trying to schedule the appointment, everything went well. The technician was able to service the fireplace and ended up having to replace my remote control. He cleaned the windows and the fireplace never looked so good.

The technician arrived early and had to wait for us to get home. He was a pleasure to deal with. We are new to this house and it did not come with any instructions regarding the gas fireplace. He inspected it thoroughly, gave it a very good cleaning, and explained to us what to expect from its performance and how to shut off and restart the pilot light. This will be our go-to company for future service.

Technician arrived at scheduled time, knew his stuff and made sure the fireplaces and the area around them were spotless before he left. Diagnosed the problem with the one non-working fireplace, explained what the repair involved, and fixed it the first time. I will use Yeager Gas Fireplace Service without hesitation the next time my fireplaces need service.

The person that they sent was not able to do the job correctly. The owner came out and fixed everything and made it right. He did not charge me again, he told me that he was going to email the company for the part that I needed. The other company called me this morning to tell me that the part was available. Right now I am very pleased with this company. I will update the review once the part is received and installed.

Our gas fireplace was clean but wasn't working when we turned the switch on. The service provider was friendly, efficient, and walked me through his repair. Thanks! We highly recommend this company and will use them again in the future.
