Description of Work: We subscribed. Afyer installation they called and said that we had to pay the previos tenants bill or they would cancel our service. I told them i would not pay for someone elses serbice and to cancel it. We returned all the equipment within 3days. They turned the account over for collection even though it wad not padt due. We paid them approximately 100$for the installation.we ate srnipr citizens and I believe they were trying to scam us. I will NEVER use tjem again!!!!!

Description of Work: They require a credit check before giving me any information. I merely wanted to find out what kind of various TV channel packages they were offering but they would not give me such info with doing a credit check first. Going with Cox -- I can get info on their services without a credit check.

Comcast came to my house and told me that they would give us $300 credit if we switched to their company. So I did. Then the company starts calling me and telling me the bill is behind. So I ask what happened to the $300, the first thing they tell me is that the credit doesn't take effect until October or November. So I waited until November and it still didn't occur. So I called them back and they had me in touch with this person and she say well you know, you have to send us a copy of the contract, fax it to us and then I will give you the credit. So I did that and then I called back and they said no credit. And then finally these people that I called again they said that they will refer me, put in my complaint and take care of it. They never do. It never gets taken care of. So finally I said give me somebody who makes the decisions so I can talk to them and so that's where I am at now. There are a few things I like about them though, they bundle cable, telephone and internet packages at a fairly decent price. They respond and send repair men to fix their equipment.

Absolutely no resolution after calling in several times. Their recommendation...take my box into a local office to have it switched. Of course this means taking time off from work to do so. This probably wouldn't bother me as much if it was only one box. On Demand doesn't work on any of my boxes. Go figure!
Description of Work: Please do not waste your time! Comcast is a rip off! For approximately $183 a month, the most consistent thing about my service is On Demand is always unavailable, the TV guide is consistently blank and you can always count on the scripted and very condescending diatribe from the service reps when calling in to report service issues. If you are a Direct TV customer, save yourself the headache. Don't change to Comcast; you will definitely regret it.

From the beginning, we had a very negative experience with Comcast. We were moving and wanted to transfer services, but different representatives quoted us different prices. We finally found a cable and internet plan that was a bit beyond our price range but seemed fairly reasonable, so we signed up. The technician came on time and installed both the cable and internet, but said our signal was very weak so he would send out a maintenance person to fix it within one day. We were excited to try the digital cable, but the box seemed very old and the interface was terrible! Comcast uses a very outdated guide and you have to scroll through ads when you scroll through the channels. If you want to watch channels in HD, there's no easy way. Channel 8, for example, might be channel 813 in HD. We were so disappointed and did not feel that the experience was remotely worth the price (approximately $90 for digital preferred cable, HD, and the DVR.) I called to cancel my service, and after being on hold for a very long time, was told that they could not cancel it yet because it had just been installed that day and was still listed as "pending." They said they would call me back in 30 minutes and instead called back 2 hours later and did not leave a message. Later that night, both our cable and internet stopped working. I called and the problem seemed to be resolved, but it stopped working again moments later. I called again, and could not get through. (The system simply told me to try my call again later.) Finally, I got through and was told my service had been intermittent all day, but to give it some time and see if it would resolve itself. About an hour later, the cable stopped working again. I called, and they said they would send a refresh signal to the box and that it would be working again within twenty minutes. It never came back on. I also reiterated that I wanted to cancel effective at the end of the week and they said that the account was still pending but they would make a note. The next morning, the cable still didn't work, and when I called, they said the account had been cancelled (three days before it was supposed to be cancelled.) Comcast is a horrible company. Their customer service was terrible (numerous times the associate said that they "understood my problem" while clearly not understanding it at all. I was also transferred many times, and often told just to basically wait it out.) The digital cable is VERY outdated and not worth the money they charge for it. They also constantly increase the prices, and when you call and complain they sometimes have deals, sometimes not. I'm just fed up with it and am dropping my cable service with them. They clearly do not care about their existing customers and I would never recommend them.

Description of Work: We have had repeated bad customer service with Comcast of Culpeper, VA. I have had many instances where the cable signal had to be resent in order for us to use one of our TV's...any time we used it. A Comcast representative (sales) stopped by our house and told me that I was spending way too much money. He told me to call Comcast and ask them to consider changing me over to a plan that was being offered to new customers in our area...and if need be, to ask to speak to the Retention Manager. He left his card. I called Comcast the next day, and the customer service rep kept me on hold for over 30 minutes. I feel like this was done to "get rid of me". I sent an email to Comcast. They sent me a canned response. I called again the following day and spoke to another CSR. He told me I could not speak to the Retention Manager. I cancelled part of my services at that point. He was rude and condenscending. I sent another email and filled out an online survey relating to my satisfaction with Comcast. You can imagine it was not good. I also called the sales person who left the business card. He did not answer his phone or return my call; I left a message. In the meantime I told my neighbors, who were considering Comcast about all of the issues and they elected to not use them. I have been a longtime customer of Comcast (15+ years) and feel like they have no desire to make me happy. Currently I am exploring options so that I can cancel the remainder of my services. My problem is that they have "cornered the market" in our area. We don't really have many choices, especially for internet options. My other two choices for TV are DISH and DirecTV, but they do not offer internet or phone in our area. I also have read many of the problems that both both of these companies seem to have, so I don't have much faith in their services either. I am considering going the way of one of your clients....cancelling TV and streaming, plus Netflix.

I've been using Comcast for about 8 years. I like the speed and the service that Comcast is offering us. I have never been a fan of their billing strategy, on how they try to force you to buy other services in order to get some more in pricing. I am not a huge fan of their customer support, they definitely do not give the best service. I will continue using them but I won't say that if I had another option that offers similar services for a better price, I would dump Comcast in a heartbeat.

They bought out our small cable company. The staff in the office are excellent but I don't like Comcast in general. It took two weeks to get someone to come out but the cable man was prompt and awesome.

Four installation calls later, with wires still strewn across our living room floor, we were told the reason we were not getting the "on demand" service was due to a software issue. By that time we had been promised phone calls that were never returned, we had been thouroghly confused by service associates who couldn't find our account or the correct equipment associated with our account. We had wasted many, many hours on the phone and on internet chats. It is obvious to us this company has many training issues and a lack of integrity at their management level.We finally cancelled the televison service and went with a clean install from Dish network.We still have internet and phone through Comcast. If we get an alternative to their service in our area I pledge to switch to another company.In short, they were a business nightmare.
Description of Work: We wanted the whole package, cable TV, internet and phone. The first install date was July 19th. Nobody showed. We called and found our entire account had been lost. We should have stopped then, but we are in an area where Comcast is the only option for true high speed internet.

I was bullied, accused of lying and treated very unfairly because I am a handicapped senior and they thought they could take advantage of me. I signed up for their service for which I did not get. The service I got was inadequate and defaulted. I was charged for services I did not get and overcharged. None of my phone calls were ever returned, and I was disconnected several times when I called for assistance.
Description of Work: I saw an ad for Comcasts in which they offered, Digital cable, high speed internet, and local/long distance phone service for $99.99 for 1 yr. 30 day money back gurantee. I signed up and on 7-2-11 a tech came to my home. He installed the digital cable (I didn't get the number of channels promised), he installed the high speed internet (it now takes me from 45 minutes to over an hour to open an e-mail message and the phone service was not connected because he wanted to change my number and I was promised I could keep the one I have had for 10 years. . I went to the Norton Comcast office and tried to get assistance, but because I am a serior citizen, partially handicapped the service rep in that office bullied me, accused me of lying and trying to get out of the serice. On 8-5 I got a bill from Comcast in the amount of $263.96. I tried to call Comcast's 1-800 number and was disconnected at least 12 to 15 times. I was denied assistance from their web techs. and I feel they are preying on me and other senior citizens by not honoring their advertisements, not honoring the advertised charges and by fixing and padding their bills. I tried 3 times to cancel this service in July by e-mail and was denied the right to cancel. I ask once to be disconnected from the new services and put back on my regular cable service for which I was paying $49.00 Plus, monthly and was told that service would now cost me $117.0 plus monthly. This practice is unfair and is down right illegal. I have since connected to a satellite service for far less that the Comcast charges, at least a hunderd seventy five more channels, and was offered a service insurance and the entire amount was less that the bill I got from Comcast. .

We live in the ?country? so I was amazed that I could even get Comcast. In fact, for years my husband told me that the cable ran right up to our house and I kept contacting the wrong company. Then one day, I saw a Comcast truck on our road. When he stopped me and asked for directions, I asked him if I could get Comcast. He followed me home and inspected the pole to make sure their service went that far. The next day I had cable and internet hooked up. We have had some problems with the HD because we are so far down the line, but they came out and fixed it promptly even added a booster to ensure my signal was strong enough. One guy that came out did not do the best job (left the wire hanging exposed and the cattle pulled it down on a Friday night- we had to wait until Wednesday to get it repaired, but were able to patch it ourselves for a temporary fix).
Description of Work: I have HD cable and high speed internet from Comcast. Compared to Satellite where you lose service when a thunderstorm comes through and dial up Comcast is the best! There are times when the signal is not super clear- but Comcast is happy to come look at it anytime it gets bad enough for me to call. Usually it is just for a few minutes.

worst ever! Took 4 initial visits to get it "right" then about every 6 weeks after that to unfuck the problems. Staff is clueless. Repair people are hit and miss; sometimes skillful and take initiative, sometimes give whatever excuse rolls of the tongue as to why things don't work.
