The Plumbing Dr

This was the 4th time I've used them since Oct. 2015. When they were unable to meet their estimated, they kept me informed. They notified me when they were on the way. When they come through the house, they make sure to cover their feet with shoe coverings. When they left the house to go to their truck - they took off the booties and put them back on when they came into the house. They're careful to protect their surrounding work area. They are excellent at explaining the problem and their solution and the cost. Their staff are helpful and educate you on preventative measures to extend the life of the product. I've already hired them for another job and they are coming next week. They are going to replace the floor drain at an estimated cost $2500.00. I've had good service with them and they have been very helpful.

I was very happy with the work. I got quotes from 3 companies, and their price came in the middle of the three. However, they showed up on time, called on the way to confirm, and sounded most like they knew what they were doing. My house has gas heat, but no gas in the kitchen. The project involved splitting the existing gas line and running in from a utility room in the basement to the kitchen on the first floor. All contractors (including this one) originally said this would require putting holes in the ceiling and repairing the drywall. However, Larry and Jon were able to figure out a way to run the new line inbetween the floor joists and avoid any drywall work. The initial estimate took ~30 minutes, and the work was done in approximately one full day. They cleaned up the area when they were done, and the inspection went smoothly. I would use them again.

Excellent and very timely service. The Plumbing Doctor came shortly after I called. Jason did a terrific job. In addition to the repair work, he did several adjustments and now the shower runs better than it did when it was new.

I had another plumber I thought I loved, but when they didn''t answer and the Plumbing Dr. did, I decided if I liked the Plumbing Dr. I was switching. And I am switching to Plumbing Dr. for the future. If you have a plumbing emergency, you have an emergency. Plumbing Dr got to us quickly and fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. And, my husband had the nerve to ask if they would take the Angie's list coupon and they did!!! So I think we got a very good price for emergency service.

I went to install a new fixture on the kitchen sink, forgetting last time this was down there were problems due to 1) no shut off 2) 1947 piping structure very difficult to work around. The plumber came in and redid the pipes for easier access and shut off valves. Also found a small leak in additional pipes that I had been looking for for months.

I called at 7 pm with a plumbing emergency - a fairly serious leak. They fielded my call professionally and sent Jason (?) over within 2 hours. He spent 1.25 hours approximately and charged $309 I believe. GOOD - service was pretty quick and very personable. Jason is a pro and a pleasure to have at my house. I was very happy I called them. NOT SO GOOD - I was showed a book of four or five categories of "services" instead of being charged by the hour. I got the "BandAid" service for $219 and an extra $68, I think, for the emergency ( 2 hour response time is reasonable for $68). Their services go up to $700 or so. This is irritating. Charge by the hour like my other plumbers do. I don't want to pay a minimum of $200 for something that could take 15 minutes. This and the associated upselling that may be part of it (Jason did not subject me to this and was very cool to work with) is what Sears does and is why I do not call them anymore. Anyway, in this case, I was charged $309 for 1.25 hours. This is considerably more than my "normal" plumbers would have charged but it was sort of an emergency and I am happy. BOTTOM LINE - The Plumbing Dr. will be my #3 choice because of their pricing model. I will not hesitate to call them but as they are more expensive they will be the third on my list.

We had the polybutelene pipes there was a class action lawsuit over several years ago. We were told when we bought the house that we'd eventually have to get them replaced, but we were young and dumb and didn't know what we were getting into. 12 years later, we've had about a dozen leaks, more than half in the last two months, so we had to just bite the bullet and do it. I joined Angie's List to get some decent plumber estimates, and we got some wacky ones. One for about $10k, no drywall, one for $3k and two for about $6k. We went with The Plumbing Doctor, their estimate was $6200. We went with them because Manning, who came to do the estimate, wasn't afraid to tell us that there were things we ~didn't~ need to do, like replace the hot water heater. They've been great - they worked all day yesterday, finished up now. The technicians(Larry and David) have all been extraordinarily professional and gracious. There were two yesterday, the same two today,and they brought another (Marlon) today to help finish the job. They handle the permits and the inspection, when I called the office this morning, Jeanne (who does all the contracts and permits) said we'd probably have the inspection done tomorrow. They put us on the schedule for four days, quoted three and were done in two. There's nothing I love more than under promising and over delivering! They're bonded and insured and appropriately licensed. They have an overall "A" rating on Angie's List. Larry was outstanding; he took the time (twice) to go over things with me, made sure I understood, and kept me apprised of the status of the job the whole way through. I absolutely recommend The Plumbing Doctor, and if I ever need a plumber again, I'll call them directly.

The service was very prompt, professional, and courteous. Can't say enough about them. They researched every possible cause of the blockage before recommending the line replacement. They even had the county come and reevaluate the street drain to ensure that there were no blockages there causing the trouble with my drain line and flush it out, too. It was a cold windy day, but the technician was outside snaking my drain for a good 4 hours before recommending that a camera be used to locate the clog, which can be an expensive service. They were able to determine that my drain line was not straight to the street line as with most lines, but actually diagonally placed because I was at the end of the sewer line for my street. The foreman took the time to explain all the details with me regarding the line and how it would be replaced. They performed the replacement the very next morning early and by the time I was home from work, the job was finished. They recommended the PVC pipe instead of cast iron due to its durability, and ran a wire along the line so that the pipe can be easily located if future work needs to be done in the yard. They came back the next morning and raked the dirt to even it out, spread grass seed over the entire front yard, re-mulched my garden beds (even made sure to use the same type of mulch that had been in the beds), and spread hay around to keep the grass seed in place. They even watered the yard, too and cleaned the dirt off the carport. (It was done so immaculately that I'm thinking of hiring them for landscaping work!) I have had no trouble with the drain whatsoever since then. They waived the costs for the snaking and camera run in the drain. I'm very satisfied with the work done, the price, and the warranty included. I highly recommend them and will certainly be using them again.

The Plumbing Doctors are the best!! We were recently scammed by a plumbing company (Plumbing and Bath Blus, LLC f/k/a Acclaimed Plumbing, Inc. f/k/a Acclaimed Services) who used fraud and deception to rip us off - the company is corrupt top-down, do not go near! It was traumatizing and on top of it all, we still didn't have hot water. While still traumatized, i reached out to The Plumbing Doctors - they were very straightforward and professional (and sympathetic). They came in and immediately noticed that the "repair" the other company did left us with thermostats not even touching the tank and not getting any power at all - they had wired everything wrong and shorted the whole system! I honestly feel that was intentionally done by the other company so they'd have to come back and tell us to replace the whole thing - basically ripping us off again! The wiring diagram is on the thermostat packaging - there's no excuse!! The Plumbing Doctor replaced the thermostats, re-wired the system correctly and also fixed a shorted circuit breaker to get us up and running again quickly and easily - I can't thank them enough for their help and also for their general handling of us as sensitive customers after a recent traumatic experience. Thank you!

After a mistake in scheduling the appointment that resulted in service nearly 2 hours after I expected a technician to arrive, Talel eventually arrived at the house and was very courteous. He quickly identified the problem with the disposal and solved it within 10 minutes. He also provided useful advice on how to maintain the disposal regularly to avoid jamming the blades. Very professional - polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Also the front office did their best to rectify the situation by ensuring a technician arrived as soon as possible later in the morning.

Spoke to Manning and he recommended a couple things to help trouble shoot the problem. Performed those items and called him back. He recommended opening the wall up to be able to get a better picture of what is going on. He has been professional, responsive, and his trouble shooting recommendations have all been simple in nature and are saving us money. He could have easily said I'll send someone out, charged us for it and then still have been in the same spot. Eventually discovered problem was from a leaking window and duct sweat. We will definitely call them back next time we need a plumber.

Great service - for a second time using the Plumbing Dr. I had the guys out last week to get some other work taken care of, and asked for a quote to get this work done. Basically I had one of the soil stacks going down in an odd place in the basement, and there was an opportunity to tee it into one of the other stacks to have both a shorter run and a cleaner installation - opening up some space in the basement bedroom. As before, Larry and his assistant were great - both in the work and in the explanation of options and what they were doing along the way. They were great about cleaning up when they were done - taking care even though the basement is in unfinished/reconstruction mode. I have no complaints, and plan to use The Plumbing Dr for future plumbing needs as we continue our reconstruction work.

Great service. We (previously) had mold remediation in our basement, which involved gutting most of what was there. As we are taking advantage of the situation to reconfigure the laundry room and bathroom, we needed to get some of the existing plumbing capped off and removed so that we could move some walls around. Larry and his assistant were great - and gave good explanations of what they were doing as well as explaining options when there were more than one way of doing certain things. I have no complaints, and plan to use The Plumbing Dr for future plumbing needs as we continue our reconstruction work.

They provided a quick response. Dr. Matt arrived on time and worked very hard to get the job done right. We have used this company before and were very pleased with the results. We will definitely use them again, if/when needed.

Plumbing Dr. came out for a consultative visit and we agreed to the work that needed to be done and they quoted the work. We then worked to schedule the job and they were very proactive / responsive when doing so. The technician estimated that the work would take approx. 4 hours to complete and it took just about that long. Francisco the plumber / technician for Plumbing Dr. was very communicative, professional and competent. I was very pleased with Francisco's work and Plumbing Dr. and would use them in the future and recommend them to others for their plumbing needs.

The plumbing work seems OK. No plumbing problems now. But watch out for these guys. I've been a homeowner in this area for 35 years now, and dealt with a lot of plumbers. I called Plumbing Dr. because they were on this list, had reasonable ratings, and were the only ones of the 6 I called who actually answered the phone and said they could send someone that same day. I remain grateful for that. The work seems fine. But this is the first plumber in my experience who acts like a used-car salesman. He kept trying to sell those warranties. Finally my wife bought one, and so we wound up paying $500 for a job which should have cost $200. Go to these guys only if you like being gauged and buying used cars. If you do, you'll be in Heaven. Otherwise, stay clear.

Fabulous! Office staff were concise and knowledgeable, the estimator was timely and took the time to explain everything thoroughly, and the plumber was very polite and did great work, leaving the place better than when he started.

Used the same company and had the same plumber repair the split pipe when it burst in January. This time it was repaired. He was very professional and very competent and offered several options for putting in a valve and routing the pipe. He asked questions and found out what we wanted. In the end, he was fast and thorough, wrapped the pip in insulation whach was extra and gave us advice for it not to happen again.

Very pleased with the ability to go in and conduct major repair with good attention to detail at 3 locations in my house needed work on leaking pipes. The pipes are no longer leaking! The repairman provided various cost options and was able to explain the issues to me from afar as i was at work.

The experience was good. They came out within 24 hours and they did a very good job. I just thought they were very, very expensive. I appreciate the fact that they came out so quickly and they did a good job, but I thought it was a little bit more expensive, maybe because they advertise 24 hours availability.

They came on time. Completed the work to our satisfaction. Despite the cost would probably use them again.

The plumber arrived on time and went right to work. When he was done he cleaned up the whole area. I've used this company for other things too. They always provide good service at a reasonable cost. I will definitely call them again if the need arises.

We needed someone immediately and they showed up within the hour. The workers were fine. It was good except for the price. Everything was perfect. I would recommend them but be prepared to pay the price.

Everything went fine. As per other reviews, this outfit does not offer Time and Materials pricing. Perhaps they would for multiple jobs - but not for a single item to be fixed. However, It is unnecessary for them to pull out their price book and go over a complicated set of pre-set prices when the "Bronze" price option is to "fix what I asked you to come and fix". All the other up-sell items above that through "Platinum" are unneeded preventive maintenance that they should stop pushing on customers.

I have been using The Plumbing Dr. for years. As always, their work is efficient, of the highest quality, and is done in a timely manner. They are the best.
