We first looked up bathroom remodelers in the northern Virginia area on Angie's List, then we learned from the Angie's List that GBK was favored by many customers and we also learned from the GBK website about "CAPS" certification which we never heard of before. Upon researching what CAPS meant, we were immediately knew that we found the right company to do our remodel because we are nearing retirement age and need to remodel our entire home for aging in place issues, since we have decided that the home we currently live in is the home we will retire in and live out our lives. We contacted GBK, and went to their warehouse. They have many different types of aging in place things and the really great thing is that these items don't really look like aging in place items. The seat folds up to provide max space in the shower, so we keep it up until the day we need to use it, the flex shower head is really great so we can move the shower head all around the body without having to move around as with a stationary shower head. And the items that help us stand up and sit down really don't look like assistance devices, they look like decorative items which is really appealing and makes the home look less like a hospital feel and more like a contemporary feeling. The removal of the cabinetry and leaving the bottom of the sink exposed really enhances the appearance of space. But the once thing, the one absolutely greatest thing about dealing with GBK is the honest;y of their workers. I am no builder but when the GBK workers starting removing the tiles from the old bathroom, they told me that the proper bathroom should have had waterproofing materials between the tile and drywall, our did not, the tiles and grout was applied directly onto the drywall which explains why I have wet spots down below on the ceiling on the floor below. It was things like that which really showed me the quality y of workmanship and honesty and integrity of GBK and their workers. They could have done exactly what the original builder did, but they did not and made my new shower waterproof and no more leaks. For that, I will not only continue to use them to remodel the rest of my home, but highly recommend them to my family, friends and anyone out there who is looking for a remodeling job. Based on the great reviews I called Globe Bath and Kitchen Remodeling. The owner came out to my home to see what needs to be done. He was punctual. He took the measurements on a Wednesday and told me to that he will e-mail me an estimate by Friday. I did not any estimate from him so I called on Monday. The owner answered the phone and said " look if you are in a hurry go somewhere else I don't have to give you an estimate you understand" He wasted my time and he was very rude.

Everything went well, from start to finish. No pressure and exceptional service and responsiveness. They always did what they said they were going to do. They were also receptive to changes. Finally, the workmanship was also "first-rate." Luis is a fine craftsman.

They guy who came out and said he ran the place treated me like an idiot. It took him over a week to send me his estimates. It wasn't a bad estimate but I just couldn't see myself working with him.

They were here last year. It was a pretty positive experience. They were always very timely and responsive. The workers were pleasant. They came in and they were very serious about what they were doing. They were very professional. They did a good job. We've been satisfied with the quality of their work.

The company rep (Adem) was prompt in meeting us to check out the job and provide an estimate. He turned the estimate around quickly. The estimate explained all work and materials - very complete. We met again to go over the estimate and to explain various options and provide suggestions. We scheduled the work to start within a week. The crew showed up promptly and completed all work quickly and with high quality. They also cleaned up thoroughly after each day of work. The job was completed on schedule and exactly as we had discussed. The price was also very competitive, and in consideration of all aspects of the work, was fair and very good. I was impressed with the outstanding service, exceptional quality, and high level of professionalism. If I needed additional renovation or remodeling, this company would be my first choice.

We did not receive an estimate back. The estimator was very busy and didn't spend a lot of time. I will not use them again in the future.

Globe was very easy to work with and extremely responsive before during and even after the remodel was complete, any issues that came up were immediately resolved by Adem and to our satisfaction. We made a couple of of adjustments to the original design during the remodeling process and Adem made sure these were made including some additions to the original spec without any additional cost to us. My wife and I really enjoyed the fact that Adem wanted to make sure we were happy with the end result and was not interested in trying to nickel and dime us on the adjustments we made.

He is a nice enough fellow. We chose another contractor because I don't feel he was listening to what we wanted. His estimate was so much below the others that we received that it was clear what we want was not going to be what we got.

it Is now mid-August and I have not heard aback from anyone.

My kitchen renovation went so much better than I had anticipated based on stories from friends and family who had undertaken a kitchen renovation before me. First, Adem was extremely responsive when I called for an estimate. He came out to my house listened to what I wanted, made some great suggestions, and took measurements. I did contact two other companies for estimates and one company never responded and the other wanted me to provide all the measurements and then they gave me an estimate that was "about xx $." Adem sent me a three page, detailed estimate of everything we discussed and I had told him I wanted. I visited his showroom and picked several different cabinets from a more expensive line. Adem priced out each cabinet and sent me a new estimate showing the total cost depending on the final cabinet I chose. The work started right on the date Adem told me. Luis and his crew did all the work. I can't say enough good things about Luis and his guys. They did an excellent job. They showed up every day and worked full days, 6 days a week. Some days they worked until almost 7 to finish up what they were doing. They were neat and cleaned up every day. They even vacuumed. I had a hardwood floor installed, replacing an old tile floor. I told Adem and Luis that the old sub floor was not level. Luis replaced the entire sub floor and I no longer have a dip in the floor in front of the refrigerator. Hurray. After installing the floor, the guys covered it with heavy paper to be sure it stayed clean and undamage. It took a little over 3 weeks to complete my kitchen. No one could believe that it went so fast. There were a few days when no work was done but by then the kitchen was functional and we were waiting on the tile for the backsplash and the pendant lights that I ordered to arrive. If I had picked the tile and lights sooner, there wouldn't have been an issue. Adem checked with me regularly, wanting to be sure everything was going well. When I needed Luis to change a work day so that he could be there to receive and install the new appliances, Adem made it happen. Everything came out beautifully. I am thrilled with the final results. The workmanship was first class.

Very strange interaction in trying to schedule a complete kitchen remodel. First he didn't answer the phone as Globe, just said "hello". I asked if he had done work specifically in my neighborhood, and asked about his estimate process. He said he'd come out and take measurements and they've done work in Arlington in general. When I asked if he had a designer he worked with he started getting agitated that I didn't understand the processes, he was a small company but could come with someone to help with design, and that all he could do was give me references and it was my decision. All I was asking was if he had specifically done work in my neighborhood because it is unique, and how he worked with designers. He just said, "sounds like you don't understand the process and shouldn't work with us" so I agreed.

We spoke to many contractors. Globe offered the service we wanted at a reasonable price. The work started on time and finished only a few days later than was estimated. The crew was respectful of our home and pleasant to be with. As very particular people, we found the the worksite was always cleaned up at the end of the day and the quality of the work was excellent. Any issues that arose, were quickly addressed, even one which arose after the bill was paid in full. They continued to pursue a solution to the problem until it was satisfactorily resolved. We highly recommend Globe Bath and Kitchen.

We are extremely pleased with the results of the job - the work was done well, the materials were of high quality and when we asked for changes during the course of the job, they were happy to accommodate us. Throughout the job, Adem's staff was professional, hard working, and they kept the site clean. He also brought some good ideas to our original plan that we hadn't thought of, such as replacing the existing hinge door with a pocket door, which not only looks better but allows for the more efficient use of space. We absolutely would use Globe again - and probably will to renovate another bathroom in the not too distant future - and recommend them to others.

This was an excellent remodeling experience. From the minute they contacted us until we delivered the last check, we could not have asked for it to go more smoothly. We contacted them and received an appointment within 2 days. Adem came and met with us. He listened to everything we wanted to do and provided an estimate well within our budget by the end of the week. One thing I really liked about this company was that they did not make you feel bad because you had limited money to spend and were more than willing to listen and offer suggestions based on your conversation. The workers arrived on schedule, left things neat and clean each evening and stayed until the job was finished. Luis and his crew were outstanding! They always did more than was asked and were just pleasant to be around. I cannot recommend this company enough. I wish I had more money to have them remodel our bathrooms too! In the future, I will definitely contact them! You will NOT be disappointed.

I called them and got a rough estimate over the phone for a bathroom remodel. Then, I was handed over to another salesman and things never really recovered from there. He came by and was professional and punctual, but I could never get a price breakdown for individual materials/labor. I tried email and phone to get estimates and just found it impossible to get actual numbers from them and to select individual elements. I really wanted to get the work done. I tried contacting the main organization, but kept getting an answering service and the salesman I talked to wouldn't return my calls asking about prices (I wanted to change a few items) and trying to set a date to get the work done.

We are very happy with our new bathrooms and with the work and service from Globe. They did a great job from start to finish, including initial consulting, installation and cleanup. We received three total estimates for all the work and they provided the best value overall (material, service + warranty). The crew was very skilled and cleaned up after themselves daily. They covered the entire path from the front door to the bathrooms with drop cloths, and enclosed the bathrooms with plastic to minimize the amount of dust. The job was completed within schedule and within budget. They were accommodating to changes that were required due to the situation. I would definitely use them and would recommend them to friends and folks on Angie's List. Ray

We asked for an estimate from a few people on Angieslist including GBK. GBK's estimate was much more affordable than the others and they were willing to work within our constraints. We got delayed when starting the job as we had to go out of town, and that set in motion a series of delays that ultimately cost us a whole month extra from the initially agreed time. But GBK was great in completing what they promised within the budget and took care of our needs.

Amin (who was our contact) was very professional, and helpful. The scope of the work and price was agreed in detail at the start, and they did the work they said, for the price they promised. Sometimes a little hard to get a hold of by phone, but this generally did not cause a problem. The sub-contractor they hired to do the work, Cornelio, did a very professional job.

It became very clear that once Adem set foot in our apartment, he had no intention of giving us his business. What is irritating is that he did not have the courtesy of telling us that he did not want to work with us, and it is clear reading other members' reviews of Globe Bath & Kitchen that they do not have interest in smaller projects and do not treat these customers with common courtesy. In my opinion, no matter how great of a job they have done with other customers' jobs, a contractor that treats other customers like the way we were treated does not deserve such a high rating on Angie's List.

Overall they did everything fine. The plumbing work was excellent. They were very clean when carrying demo debris out of the house. The only problem, but a big problem, was the finishing work on the drywall and also did not use the right type of vent when they moved it. To save money, Globe had the plumbers install and finish the drywall. It was supposed to be ready for paint and it was not even close. I had to spend about two days sanding and mudding the walls. Adem, the person I worked with was very responsive when I voiced my complaints and gave me a discount for it, but I went with an Angie's List company because I wanted stuff done right.

We are yet to decide on the quote. We looked at the reviews on Angie’s list and called them for a quote. They were actually fine. The person who came to give the quote was nice, and he had an iPad in which we could look at all the remodeling that they had done. He was nice and polite. The person was a little late and he did not call. He was very polite. They were very responsible. When we called they immediately called back and they tried to schedule an appointment within the next two or three days and they were at our house to quote me. We had a couple of questions which they answered.

We could not be more pleased. From beginning to end, the experience was very professional. We had contacted four remodeling companies and had received three estimates. (One company gave a cursory estimate over the phone and said to contact him if we wanted more information. We quickly dropped him from consideration.) The other three companies were very nice, came to the house, spent time with us and submitted their estimates. Globe, frankly, was the highest, which gave us pause because we had a fixed budget to work with. However, Globe was the only company with a showroom and that, for us, was key. After visiting the showroom and talking with Adem and seeing the samples and displays in person, we chose Globe and are thankful we did. Adem worked with us to meet our budget. (In the end we added some upgrades that bumped up the price, but we're pleased we did.) The process requires making choices and selections and we tried to have all the decisions in place well ahead of time. The work was started on time and finished on time. The workmanship of the crew Adem assigned to our remodel was exquisite -- showroom quality. At the end of each workday, the crew cleaned up and left no trace they had been there. As with any significant project, questions come up and Adem was always responsive getting back to us within a very reasonable amount of time, often that evening or the next day. Based upon our experience, Globe is a top-notch company and, in the end, you pay for quality.

Of the four top rated (by Angies List) bathroom remodelers Globe was the only one that showed up when scheduled and submitted a proposal as promised. Had the cost proposal been more responsive to my minimal requirements and been in the price ballpark I would have employed them.
