Amanuel did an excellent design for our kitchen and the crews (demo, new kitchen install, rebuilding some walls, new wiring and plumbing as work was done in a 1931 home) were all excellent. We are pleased with our kitchen (one year out since remodel) and very happy we went with Globe Bath and Kitchen. We highly recommend them and would use them again for any future bath or kitchen remodeling.

When I decided to do a renovation in my kitchen, I requested proposals from 3 companies. I am over moon that I selected Globe. This was the same contractor that renovated my bathroom 10 years ago. Amanuel's design and the team he selected to implement the plans were exceptional. Victor and his team arrived every morning before 8:30am and paid close attention to all details. Their work far exceeded my expectations. Victor oversaw each detail and made improvements on areas that they were not replacing. In the 10 years since my bathroom was finished, Globe Bath & Kitchen has remained extremely high quality. I would hire Globe again without hesitation. What a pleasure it was to work with all of them.

This is our second time working with the team at Globe Bath & Kitchen and we couldn’t say better things about them. They first did our guest bathroom prior to the pandemic. Even before signing a contract we had renders and estimates in hand. The project turned out exactly to specs, on budget and time. The major renovation of our entire lower level - kitchen, floors, lighting, and fireplace refacing - was delayed by years due to our family’s schedules, but recently completed. We got the same team as in early 2020. The team was clean, fast, efficient, and treated our community with the utmost respect. Our neighbors noticed and went out of their way to let us know the team was quiet (as possible), clean and didn’t leave gates propped open. The project finished three weeks ahead of time, and about 2% over budget. We did move out to allow the team to work quickly, but still were pleasantly surprised at the outcome. We look forward to working with Globe again to redo our second bath.

UPDATE: After my original review, the company contact me and made the case that I should rescind/revise my review because: 1) they no longer use the subcontractor they hired for my project; 2) the project manager did everything he could to remedy the problems; and 3) they did not test for asbestos because they knew there was none in my apartment building. Based on the factual information, I changed my rating on the basis of the following scoring: FOUR stars for the final result; THREE stars for pricing; ONE start for communications and overall experience. I'd reiterate that the project manager was indeed a very nice person and he returned our calls and texts when we needed to fix things. But the lack of communication and respect to our home during the reno process left a long-lasting scar that cannot be remedied easily. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We had a bathroom in our 1bd condo remodeled by BGK in fall 2020 after requesting quotes from six companies, on the basis that a) the designer/project manager, Daniel, was very friendly and easy to work with, and b) the pricing was just about right (not the cheapest). The nightmare began when the subcontractor showed up. We could not communicate with the person in English so we had to use Google Translate - which should have been an immediate red flag. The guy started hacking away the tiles as soon as he arrived in our apartment, without any communication or protection of our furniture, flooring, and belongings. We had to run away from home because of the cloud of dust, only to discover later that everything in the living room and kitchen was covered in dust and had to throw away our couch, books, and other person items that could not be properly cleaned. I should also mention that the condo was built in the 1940s, so it is quite possible that there're asbestos in the walls, but the worker couldn't have cared less. The designer/project manager rarely showed up on the site and on some days, he didn't even know that the subcontractor didn't show up. The actual project took a week longer to finish than initially quoted, then we had a series of issues with low quality materials that took even longer to resolve. Under budget and on schedule. Seriously. GBK was an absolute pleasure to work with, and we investigated a lot of different options before landing on them.

The estimate process was virtual and fine and pricing was just little more than what we wanted to spend.

Perfect! They worked with us from day one. Several changes were requested along the way and they accommodated our requests with a smile. No delays. Showed up when they said they would and finished on schedule. I wish all contractors were as reliable as they were. Best part? The finished bathroom! Just as we envisioned.

Working with Daniel was truly a pleasure. He was the first to respond with suggested layouts via C.A.D. drawings and mock ups. His ideas were creative and fit it nicely with what we had envisioned. He was always responsive to any issue I had as the work continued. The crew came every weekday like clockwork, and were professional and friendly. Gabriel, the crew leader, was great to work with and made changes that we asked for quickly and cost effectively. Osmar was on the job nearly every day and was also a pleasure to work with. I would definitely not hesitate to use Global's services again if/when the need arises! We are very happy with how the bathroom turned out!

These guy are superstars. It was our 2nd major project with them, (the first being a kitchen remodel) and we got them to go out of their comfort zone (bathrooms and kitchens) to do our basement. Amanuel is extremely thoughtful, conscientious, and a pleasure to work with from the design process through construction and finish. His contractors are genuine craftsmen with very high standards for quality and workmanship. Still, prices were about middle of the road - not bargain basement but not gourmet. Would recommend them without hesitation.

First things first- you can stop your search for a contractor and reach out to GBK. We had a great experience and three weeks post-project, I walk into my new kitchen every day and fall more in love with it. We hired GBK for a kitchen remodel and to add a bathroom to our 1920s DC townhouse. I was impressed with GBK from our initial consultation, and was happy with their initial estimate. I really liked that we were able to go and choose materials and finalize the design before we signed a contract. Amanuel was always very responsive and I was impressed with Victor, his foreman. The crew was always respectful and explained what they were doing. The project finished on time and on budget. We did discover about a week after the project ended that there was a plumbing issue that no one could have anticipated, but Amanuel stood by his work and the crew fixed it promptly. We did wish there was a little more transparency with regards to pricing- a line by line budget would've been nice- but we were still happy with the price we paid and that we did not go over the budget we signed on. Overall, highly recommend GBK!

From the estimate, design and installation all went well. Damaged cabinet door was replaced quickly. Water leakage problem solved. However, I have 4 boxes of flooring left over so that says to me it was over estimated. It appeared to be enough to do the floor twice. This is my second time using this company and do it again if needed.

Waste of time, never received quote. They scheduled a time to come out and look at our bathroom. After meeting and proposing ideas they never actually sent a quote. We reached out and they said they would get one written up for us within a couple of days, but we still never got a quote.

They were very prompt and responsive. Amanuel was always available if we had questions.

Excellent. We received first-class advise during the design process. The works were carried out professionally and on schedule. The workmen were friendly and almost became art of the family. Some minor modifications that arose during construction were handled efficiently and at now extra cost. The GBKR manager mentioned repeatedly that their main objective was to keep the client (i.e. us) satisfied, and acted accordingly.

The quality and timeliness of the work was outstanding. We are very satisfied with the work.

We hired Globe Bath & Kitchen to do a complete remodel of our master bathroom and guest bathroom. Daniel came out to our house for a consultation, and the following week provided a very detailed cost estimate for the project. They were able to schedule the work to begin at a time that worked for our needs. The workers that performed the work took great care to protect our floors and walls between the entrance and the upstairs bathrooms during demolition and cleaned up the work area every day before they left. We ordered most of the materials ourselves but for the items we couldn't find, Daniel was happy to make a recommendation and order the products for us. We are extremely happy with the quality of the work that was performed and plan to use them again in the future for a kitchen renovation.

We had an excellent experience working with Daniel and his crew. Daniel was highly responsive from the design stage through to completion. He had great ideas and an excellent design sense. Our new bathroom looks like it belongs in a spa--it's gorgeous -- but was very reasonable in price. Whenever we had an issue or didn't like something (a few floor tiles with abnormalities), Daniel fixed it right away-- he even said many times, "this is your bathroom, I want you to be happy". I highly recommend Daniel at Globe Bath and Kitchen.

GBK remodeled a bathroom for me from ceiling to floor- new lighting, new tub, fixtures, wall and floor tile, vanity and sink. They did a wonderful job. I was impressed by the design and price point initially but the construction team turned out to be amazing too. They were careful about their work and shielded the rest of the house from noise an dust as much as it was possible. They restored the house to order before they left each day. And the results are beautiful. I couldn't be more pleased. Would love to have them back to do my kitchen.

We have used Amanuel/ Globe twice for renovations: first we remodeled our kitchen (knocked down walls, installed a support beam in the ceiling, ripped out floors and reworked the floor plan), and then, 18 months later, we brought them back to remodel two of our bathrooms. I can't speak highly enough to Amanuel's professionalism, attention to detail, diligence, bedside manner, and good work-- and the good work of his team. Remodels are personal and stressful. And I'm also a perfectionist. The good thing is: Amanuel is too. Our jobs stayed within budget and were done EARLY. Who can ever say that? We've been so impressed both times and got just what we wanted. The kitchen and bathrooms are unique and picture-perfect. We get ample compliments on them-- and we have referred Amanuel to a number of our friends.

We received 3 estimates from 3 contractors for our Bathroom remodeling job in DC, and finally chose Globe Bath and Kitchen for our project of a 3-bathroom complete remodel job. The designer (Daniel) went over all the details, materials and costs in the beginning. We then meet with Daniel at his office, went over design choices and received his helpful input along the way. The contractors (Gabriel and his crew) were punctual, pleasant and conscience of protecting all areas of the house from dust, bumps and scraps. Daniel then gave us a detailed breakdown of the cost for our project and stayed within our planned budget. All bathrooms were completely gutted out down to the studs. The crew prepared all “construction zone” areas with a plastic wall (it worked very well) and covered all floors to minimize any damages. However, with any renovation, there are always a few issues along the way, but the designer addressed them immediately and made every effort to correct the issue or offered other solutions to make us happy. They finished the job ahead of schedule!! Overall, we must say that we are very pleased with our New Bathrooms. Many Thanks to Daniel and his Team!! We worked with Daniel to completely redo our master bathroom. The project was completed on schedule and turned out great with very little hassle or inconvenience. The design experience with Daniel was excellent. The workers showed up every day and cleaned up after the day's work was complete. We had evaluated three different companies to do the project and Globe was priced the best.

GBK did a great job. The work and materials were very high quality, and Daniel (project manager) and Gabriel (work supervisor) were pleasant and easy to work with. Daniel was very patient with me during the design and materials selection process. He developed a good understanding of my design preferences and struck a balance of providing helpful advice while respecting my wishes. When the inevitable requests and fixes came up, Daniel and Gabriel were always reasonable in their responses to my requests, and there were no surprise charges - the only increases to their initial estimate were because of increases to the scope of the work (totally fair

After considering three seperate vendors for a small/full bathroom renovation, I chose Globe Bath & Kitchen and am incredibly pleased with the results. First of all, Daniel, the customer service manager was beyond professional, responsive, and accommodating. Due to budget constraints I provided all of my own materials, and Daniel took the time, pre-construction, to confirm that I had what was needed. Design, research and procurement of the materials took me about 2 months, so knowing what I know now, if I had a few extra thousand to spend, I would have just paid GBK to design and supply the materials (they get wholesale pricing anyway). The actual construction was lead by Santos, with help from Michael, and both were very competent, professional and efficient. They cleaned up at the end of every day and even grabbed a few plumbing components which I had forgotten, from Home Depot. In the end, this was a really great renovation experience. I'm writing this review about 3 months post-renovation, and have had no issues at all resulting from the work. I'll definitely hire GBK again if I do anything like this in the future!
