We?ve been planning the kitchen remodeling for months. I?ve had few contractors give me estimates, and it came down to who can better manage the project for us. It is a very disruptive undertaking, as you have to be prepared for 3-4 weeks of major inconvenience. We have selected The Globe Bath and Kitchen Inc, even though not the cheapest contractor (but not the most expensive out of all queried) primarily because of good responses and high rating on Angie?s List. We were worried initially, as expected. I recommend you have a pretty good idea of what you want your kitchen to look like upfront, before you start the project. I have not received a great deal of design advice from Globe Bath and Kitchen though. Pretty quickly we were able to schedule an appointment with the owner/manager ?Adem to get estimates. He walked us through the project and explained what is involved. He took time to hear our concerns and worries. He was very understanding. Afterwards, we met with his designer, who provided some guidance and took all the measurements. Later in the week we came out to company?s showroom and granite supplier place, made our selections for the cabinets, hardware and countertop. Adem has suggested a start date and helped me coordinate the schedule for the appliances delivery. He had lined up the main construction crew, floor guy and the counter top guy, to make sure there is no stoppage or schedule slippage. On the project start date, he came to my house with the construction crew to kick off the project. Everything was going as expected. We were mostly communicating with the construction crew. The guys were very professional and highly qualified. They provided some good advice as well. They have done a very good job and were very receptive to some of the adjustments I found necessary. What gave me sense of comfort as the fact that I was home every day and was able to oversee their progress occasionally popping up to check, not that they needed me looking over their shoulders? The only time we had to involve the manager was when we had an issue with the countertop being misaligned with the cabinets. We noticed that later in evening and were really concerned that it was obvious. I contacted Adem the same evening to complain. The issue was addressed by the management and the crew the next day and was corrected to our satisfaction. Another setback was when one of the cabinets arrived damaged. The crew immediately alerted me and Adem has ordered the replacement. Because of the defective cabinet, the schedule slipped by few days. Throughout the project, the crew took a great care of making sure the floors/walls/furniture are protected and nothing in the house is damaged that should not be as a result of the job. Even though I covered all the floors in adjacent rooms, they have put another layer of protection and installed the screens leading in and out of the kitchen and breakfast room areas, to trap all the construction dust. During 3 and half weeks the construction crew came always on time and always had everything they needed to do the job or would run to Home Depot to get what they needed in advance, so that they don?t lose time. They have alerted me to few potential problems and suggested different options to resolve, before proceeding.
Description of Work: We’ve been planning the kitchen remodeling for months. We needed full kitchen remodeling. Removing the old 30 some year old cabinets, refinishing the hard wood floors, installing new lights, repainting, getting and installing new cabinets and counter-top. And also installing new appliances.

We interviewed multiple contractors for this job, and felt that Globe Kitchen and Bath gave us the best combination of a high quality final product for a competitive price. We worked with Adem to select the materials and he worked with us to help design the final layout of our kitchen. We were able to settle relatively easily on a price because Adem was willing to work with our budget. Once our materials were ordered, we were scheduled to begin work in three weeks. Prior to the work being started, Adem brought his main workers over to our house for a walk through and to meet us, the homeowners. We thought this was a nice gesture to be sure all of the work plans were set and ask any final questions before work started. Adem gave us a start date, but this date had to be pushed back by a few days due to scheduling conflicts with the workers. Once the work began, we had two main workers in our house every day - Calixo and his partner. We can't speak highly enough about them. They did excellent work everyday and were extremely neat and were sure to clean up at the end of every workday. We did not have a dust problem in our home thanks to their extra effort. Work moved along swiftly for just under three weeks. We only ran into two unexpected discoveries during the project, and Adem communicated with us as soon as the issues arose and work was not delayed. We felt very comfortable having Calixo and his partner in our home during the day while we were at work. The entire project finished on time and on budget. We have been very happy with the quality of work done and the final outcome looks excellent. We would absolutely use Globe Kitchen and Bath again for more projects in our home. After hearing many horror stories of kitchen renovations, we were relieved everything went so smoothly and without major problems.
Description of Work: We worked with Globe Kitchen and Bath for our complete kitchen makeover. This included the demolition of a wall between our kitchen and what was the dining room, the installation of hardwood floors, all new cabinets and countertops, installation of new lighting, and the addition of an island. The construction workers built a 5'x3' island with an electrical outlet and breakfast bar. The lighting included ten recessed lights, two pendant lights installed on two separate circuits and under cabinet lighting.

Overall, the project went very well. The work was done carefully, at a reasonably high level of quality, and the workers took pains to keep the house clean despite the messy nature of what they were doing. They worked very hard, over long hours, and on weekends, to keep the project moving forward on schedule. Communications were generally good. Adem, the owner, is responsive and generally available by email or phone. Calixto, who led the work, was always checking to see if they were doing things the way we wanted, and would consistently seek out guidance on how things should be laid out or where fixtures should be installed. When unexpected things occurred, they dealt with them as a matter of course and didn't try to add cost. For example, upon removing an existing exhaust fan, it became clear the the fan had never been properly vented to the outside, and it would require additional work and material to do so - they simply did what was required. The project was started on time and finished roughly on time. Adem offered good, helpful suggestions on design and product selection, but the responsibility was on us to select tile, fixtures, and work out the design. That was fine with us, but something to be aware of. We are very pleased with the result.
Description of Work: The project involved complete renovation of two bathrooms in a 1930's home. One was was very old, with original plumbing and fixtures. The other had been updated about 25 years ago. In both bathrooms, the existing wall and floor tile were removed and replaced, and much of the old galvanized steel plumbing was replaced. The shower in one bathroom was rebuilt completely, and the original tub in the other was refinished. All of the fixtures were replaced, and new lighting and exhaust fans were installed.

Remodel went well. there were a few glitches, but Adem and his employees were accommodating. UPDATE: The experience was great. The technician were very cheerful and helpful getting everything just right. They did just as high a quality job before, I would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Adem with Globe Kitchen and Bath Remodel specializes in adapting rooms for disabled clients. He remodeled our bathrooms so my wheelchair bound wife can roll into the shower and has grab bars to assist her and has a raised toilet and a lowered sink to use. The work looked good and works and was done at the price agreed upon. UPDATE: They came back to make some adjustments to the remodel that they had just done for me.

Our results are fabulous! GBK was easy to work with, extremely careful and clean, and really cared about doing the best job for us. Before we started our project, we had done a lot of research on some of the products we wanted to use. Adem worked with us to order them and make sure we got what we wanted. He also put us in touch with local vendors for the other things we hadn't selected. Part of our original plan was to re-finish and update our existing vanity, but when that became too difficult due to parts availability and other problems (no fault of GBK), Adem quickly worked with us to order a replacement vanity. And we love it. We love everything about our new bathroom and would highly recommend Adem and his team. We are absolutely thrilled with the results and feel like we got the best value for our money. And most importantly, we would not hesitate to contact Adem and his team again when the time comes for another renovation project.
Description of Work: Complete demolition and renovation of our master bathroom. Demolition included removing and discarding all existing fixtures down to the drywall and original floorboards. Renovation included reframing and expanding the shower and building new mud pan; installing radiant in-floor heating throughout the bathroom; installing custom marble tile floor, pillow-top marble subway tiles in shower and bathtub area, and frameless glass shower doors; installing a free standing soaking tub with floor mounted tub filler; completing the vanity area with a double-sink vanity with marble countertop, self-rimming sinks, double wall-mounted medicine cabinets and lighting; installing a hard-wired, wall-mounted towel warmer; new faucets and fixtures throughout; installing the toilet; and painting the entire bathroom.

First, I really liked the quality of the work and very much enjoyed the workmen, who were always polite and accommodating. It says something that I am using the firm again. Adem, the owner, provided a detailed proposal with links to specific websites where we could look at the products he was recommending. We really liked that. When we wanted to make some changes, this was not a problem and did not result in any major change in the cost of the project. The project was started on time. But it did not end on time, which I blame on myself and not the firm. My wife and I were not as organized as we should have been and the project took longer than expected. Make sure you know what you want ahead of time or it will slow things down. We have contracted with the firm for a second bathroom and I have laid out everything in advance and expect there will be no delays, like last time. There were some minor problems along the way, but they were always fixed and never a hassle. And these workmen really, really worked hard. They earned their money! I felt the price for the project was competitive for the area. Most important is that the bathroom really looks good and functions the way we expected! Where we were uncertain about what to do, both the owner and the workmen provided useful advice. It is a small bathroom but really looks quite amazing right now and should improve the resale value of the house should we move.
Description of Work: The master bath was gutted. New tile was installed on floor and walls. Heating coils were place in floor. Bathtub was removed and tiled shower area installed. Heating fan and lights installed in ceiling. New sink and toilet installed.

We have a 1 bedroom condo with original floors/fixtures/tiling in the kitchen and bathroom. We just purchased a house, and we wanted to fix up the condo for sale. After meeting with Adem at our condo and in Adem's Falls Church showroom, we signed a contract with Globe to perform this work. Our expectatations were vastly exceeded in any number of ways: (1) the quality of the work all-around was outstanding. At the condo's showing last week, we received many comments on how beautiful the the kitchen and bathroom are; (2) the work was done in a timely fashion. We were interested in getting the condo on the market quickly in order to avoid paying two mortgages, and Globe was able to do outstanding work in a very short period; (3) Adem and his team were very responsive. They contacted us whenever anything came up that was unexpected (which obviously will happen a lot in a project like this). And whenever we had questions, Adem would get back to us in short order; (4) Ultimate impact: we were able to sell our condo for the highest price in the building's history - we attribute this in large part to the fine work of Globe. Our only regret with Globe is that we didn't use them earlier, so we could have enjoyed their outstanding bathroom and kitchen remodeling when we were actually living there. That said, we hope and intend to use Globe again for our new house. We highly recommend the experience. With so many of our friends, their contractor situations turn into nightmares. With Globe, it was a dream come true. We are still amazed that Globe was able to do such outstanding work in a short timeframe and for a reasonable price.

Globe did an excellent job. In 2010, they remodeled our kitchen - that was a great experience, too. Before signing the contract, Adem spent a lot of time with us to help choose what we wanted. He offered many traditional and creative options. We would highly recommend Globe to anyone looking for quality and value.

GBK?s final result speaks for itself!! Adem and his team did a fantastic job and came in exactly at the price quoted. We had work done in the kitchen and bathroom. Adem?s team lead by Luis, arrived on time, was very professional, respectful of the interior of our home, exercised care in their work and cleaned up each day before departing. Despite a real challenging kitchen job to repair a granite countertop breakfast bar, Luis identified the cause for the leaning top, deconstructed the entire knee wall , fixed original construction errors and returned the entire area to better than new! The shower remodel is marvelous!! Adem?s experience and professional judgment were invaluable in weighing the various shower remodeling option and then making a decision on the final plan. We visited the showroom and discussed the different alternatives and the pros and cons for the wall tile, shower floor and bench materials. When we did not see exactly what we wanted; Adem contacted all the local vendors and found what we wanted. If we have remodeling work in the future, you can bet we will call GBK!!!

The team from Globe Kitchen and Bath was top notch. They completed the job on time and within budget. Their crew was extremely courteous and extremely clean. They arrived when they said they would arrive and usually spent 8-10 hours on the project before finishing up for the day and returning the next. They were all easy to reach via cell phone as well. We had a complete master bathroom remodel. The team from Globe Kitchen and Bath re-set our existing tub, did plumbing work, electrical work, tiled the new bathroom, installed a new granite floor and new granite counter tops. The quality of work was excellent. We would use this company again for future projects.

First of all, this company has two Angie's List profiles. One is under Globe Kitchen and Bath (as opposed to Globe Bath and Kitchen LLC) and has unfavorable reviews much closer to our actual experience (average on the other profile is C). Be sure to read both sets of comments and ratings before you consider working with them. As for our experience, everything was going quite well at first and we found them (Adem and Amin) to be easy to work with throughout the planning stage. When construction started, Corneleo and his crew did a quick job of demolition and seemed to be making quick work of installing the kitchen. However, we hit a snag when they moved the kitchen radiator, as we had specified in the contract, to a different location in the kitchen. After the move, heat was no longer making it to the top floor of the house. As they were investigating and trying to correct this issue, they accidentally broke our old boiler. Now, to be fair, the boiler was original to the house and 75+ years old, so it was not unreasonable or even particularly unlucky that this happened. Adem suggested the following fix - Globe would split the labor cost of replacement with us and get us the boiler at cost. This seemed reasonable, given the depreciated value of the old boiler, but was still a hassle we would rather not have had to deal with. The real trouble came when the boiler was replaced. First we were told we had to pay to run an extra line of electricity to the boiler because the old boiler did not have electricity. We agreed and paid the extra $225 to do this. Then it took forever to actually get the boiler delivered and installed, as communication was not as good once the subcontractor entered the mix. Still mostly understandable and annoying but not entirely infuriating. The ridiculous part comes next, when the boiler is installed and our thermostat flashes and smokes whenever we try to turn it on. This happens multiple times, and the thermostat is replaced twice before an electrician is sent to investigate the problem. When one does come, he finds that there was electricity going to the boiler from the start, so we had paid to install a second line that was overloading the boiler circuitry and causing the thermostat to spark. The unnecessary $225 is not important to me as it's dwarfed by the cost of the whole kitchen, but I felt this was unprofessional and indicated that some people were looking at the boiler and evaluating the situation who were in over their heads. Now, after the fact, we do have a mostly nice looking kitchen. I felt the price was reasonable. But I would not work with the company again. The boiler incident is the main reason. But I also felt they did not do a great job with some of the finer details. For example, they used grout between the tile backsplash and the granite counter, which deteriorated within 6 months of installation. I've heard from other sources that I trust that caulk would have been appropriate in that location instead of grout. Another example is that the wood floor that Globe installed already squeaks, which I think is due to them not taking care to level the subfloor before laying the pre-finished wood flooring. Again, I'm not the expert here, but I would just expect better quality results when you're paying good money for a kitchen. My final example is that they tore down three walls of the kitchen completely, but not the fourth. When the granite company brought the granite, they were not able to put the final piece of the granite against the wall because the wall was uneven. This last one is partly on me - if I had experience dealing with such a large scale project, I would have made sure the removal of all walls was specified in the contract. So, I've learned to be more specific in the future.

Response from Globe Bath & Kitchen Remodeling LLC
Customer, Happy New Year! As you know we have not worked together since May of 2012 and I hope you are doing alright. Here at Globe, we really appreciate customers commenting about their experience with us, so we can learn how we can improve our business. Unfortunately, your response came eight months later, and you have not contacted us since May so we apologize for not solving this issue for you (from our standpoint, we never knew there was an issue). As for your first claim about Globe have two Angies List accounts, I only came across the information recently and have been working with Angies List to resolve the issue. The duplicate account was created by Angies List accidently and currently the accounts have been combined into one account (this one), in hopes that customers will be able to read a holistic review about the work we do. When you found out that piece of information, I would have really appreciated it if you could have contacted me directly so I could have resolved the issue. The second account was not created by Globe and Angies List can attest to that fact. As for your second claim about the boiler, as you have stated the boiler was 75+ years old and there was no way for either of us to prevent it from breaking since it was in a fragile state. Our solution (that we came up with together) was to spilt the cost of the labor and get a new boiler. You mentioned this was an additional cost of $225 for yourself to get a new electricity line, but this was not in any way our doing. The boiler was old and could only last for so long, therefore a new line was needed for it to be replaced. What is really unfortunate is that throughout our encounter and even after, you never mentioned any of these claims. How are we supposed to grow if our customers do not even tell us what is wrong? As for Cornelius, you have claimed he completed your project in a hasty manner. I can only wish you told me that information sooner. If it is one thing Globe doesn’t tolerate, it’s our subcontractors not being respectful and responsible to our customers. Cornelius was working with us until recently when a customer confronted us (something you really should have done), and now he has been let go. See Michael, we are on YOUR side. We want you to not have to worry about the boiler or the way your kitchen will turn out, that is our worry. You mentioned in your last paragraph that you have a “nice-looking kitchen”, and that’s all we can hope for. We work tersely for our customers and we want you to be able to come home from a long day of work and be pleased with your home. Really Customer, I apologize for any inconvenience we put you in. I can assure you if you filed a report with our company of even allowed the lines of communication to be present and let me know how you felt; the situation would have had a completely different conclusion. Thank you again for taking your time to express your thoughts. Adem

Quality of work was good; very accomodating with adjusting schedule when mildew found in one bathroom. However, very messy, did not make any attempt to contain dust from renovation, did not put down dropcloth until requested. Did not do good job cleaning after work at end of day. Bags of debris left on lawn for three weeks, killing grass. Other bags of debris put into owners trash receptacles, leaving for the owners to deal with. Several times did not return when scheduled. Approximately two months later a small crack appeared in grout; after a month of corresponding (once hostile) and at least 5 emails, was finally repaired. Adem showned little interest in completeing the repair, in fact stated that this was a small problem. Found possible leaf after 6 months. called and talked to office persom, but did not even get a response from company.

Dear Member, I was pleased to know that you rated Globe a B on price and quality. Our slogan at GBK is, “Our mission is your satisfaction”, and it’s comforting to know that our customers appreciate the quality and pricing of our work. Let me begin by apologizing for any strain we might have caused. Here at Globe, we hold our subcontractors and all employees on a code of ethics and would never disrespect our customers. The fact that you took time to invest in our company means a lot to us, and for that we are responsible to provide you with the quality and professionalism you deserve. During our weeks of working on your project, you never mentioned any problem or even filed a report with us that would give us the impression that you were unhappy with our service. In fact, when we first began our work and I gave you an estimate, you seemed pleased with the way the new renovations were under way. As for the grout incident, we were constantly getting in contact with you, and were more than happy to take care of it for you. But due to the fact that it was during the holiday season, the majority of the subcontractors were not available and during the time you insisted. As soon as they returned I made sure you were the first person they saw. There was another reason why I could not take care of the grout incident as soon as you wanted, and that was because I was dealing with a family dilemma that required me to leave town for quite some time. I have always put my business above everything else, but now more than ever I needed to deal with a family issue. I hope you can understand that. Overall, you seemed very pleased with the way your new bathrooms turned out. Again thank you for considering Globe for you bathroom refinishing and we hope you have a wonderful New Year! Adem

They came out for an estimate, and gave me a verbal estimate. They didn't seem very interested in doing the job because it was smaller than they normally do. They said they would call me to let me know when they could do it. I never heard back. When I contacted them, they said they could do it some time the next week and they would let me know what day. I never heard back. I cleared my schedule to be available for them to do the repairs and they never showed up and never called.

Dear Member, Thank you for expressing your comments and concerns about Globe. It is customers like you that help Globe grow and learn. We take pride in our relationships with our customers and if I in any way confused you during our encounter I apologize. When I came to your house, I noticed that all you needed was a simple repair. Although it was a smaller job, I assured you that I could get a subcontractor on the job when they were in the area. In all honesty I believed that it would be better if you hired a handyman because their price would be cheaper than Globes since we are a remodeling company. I was not simply looking to make a profit, but I thought it would be a better decision financially. During our last conversation I explained that hiring a handyman would be better for you than hiring Globe but ultimately it was your choice to decide which option you preferred. Again, my sincerest apology Alan and I hope you got the renovation you needed. Have a blessed New Year! Adem

They were great. They constantly kept us up-to-date on all that they were doing. The worker was always on time. Adem, the owner, kept checking with us on how things were going. They were very accommodating. I would recommend them to anybody. The price was very reasonable.
Description of Work: They completely remodeled our master bath. They did the bath, the shower, the tile, the electrical and plumbing work, everything. This price was for both bathroom remodels.

From the original estimate through project completion was one of the best experience.
Description of Work: Adem and crew were great to work with. Had a small basement bathroom that required some custom work where they provided suggestions and the flexibility to in the end came out exactly the way we wanted. Plus the ability to go to their showroom and walk thru samples and ideas helped with the process.

The were responsive and stayed until the work was done for the day and then cleaned up. They stayed and did the work until it was done and did not "disappear" for days at a time like some contractors we've worked with in the past.
Description of Work: We had Adem and his team do the tear out and replacement of a previously remodeled bathroom that had not been done properly and had resulted in some water damage from shower seepage. The replace the whole shower enclosure, subwall tile on the walls, flooring and and floor tiles.

Adem was great to work with on our project. He did not try to upsell us on the materials used or the scope of the project. He was extremely respectful of the budget we set for the project and he helped us choose materials that were cost effective with out compromising quality. The crew that did the work was also fantastic. They were hardworking and punctual each day. We found them to be very conscientious and trustworthy. They left the worksite virtually spotless each night and were very careful to minimize the project's disruption to our household. We couldn't have been happier with the outcome of our master bathroom and dressing area. It has now been approximately 2 months since the completion of the work and we continue to be very pleased with the work that Globe Kitchen & Bath did. We would definitely use them again for renovation/remodeling projects.
Description of Work: We completely gutted and updated our master bathroom and dressing area.

We had looked for companies to do our kitchen renovation for several months, and received wide ranges of estimates and Doug (sales), Amin (designer), Adem (owner), and Luis (installer/foreman) were great to deal with. Globe doesn't provide you with the absolute full-service white-glove remodeling treatment, but if you are willing to take a few minutes each day, they are well worth it. They dealt with us through multiple iterations of designs, and accommodated us as we made additional requests during construction. The job was supposed to take 3 weeks (which I thought was optimistic), and it was just a few days longer, coming in just under 4. Luis and his guys were outstanding and efficient, and did a great job cleaning up day after day. The only issues that we had were some minor issues involving the wrong cabinets being ordered, and some communication issues about the progress of the day to day construction. But if you're a little proactive, these are no big deal. Adem does a good job of making sure you're satisfied before the job is totally done. Our house looks vastly different now, and we love our new kitchen.

Initially, I was very happy with the service provided by Adem and his team. Unfortunately, there were a few bumps along the way that in the end made me just happy when it was over. Initially, we were able to get the work started June 4, 2012, a week earlier than initially planned. I made sure I was home the day of the bathtub demolition, but was told that I didn't need to be home for the men to be working. I could give them a key and a lock box would be put at my door so that they could work while I was at the office. I gave them the key, but the lockbox never materialized. Fortunately, on day 4 I was working from home because otherwise I would have arrived home to discovery that the tile was installed vertically instead of horizontally. I was lucky to catch it in time while things were still easily fixable. The time from the demolition of the tub to the installation of the last tile was 5 days, with the last two days being long ones for the team. On day 4, the glass contractor came to take the measurements for the glass door, which would take two weeks to prepare and install. That Friday, I was told the team would be back the following week (June 11-15th) to do the last of the grouting and caulking. They could not continue until the first layer of grout and caulk were dry. Adem came out to see the work that Saturday and I was very happy with how things were progressing. I told him that his team worked very hard during they week and worked long hours on Thursday and Friday. I also told him that they said they would be coming back the following week to finish the grout and caulking, and mentioned that the knob was a difficult for me to reach to that enables me to switch from the showerhead to the handheld shower. Adem said he would sent the plumbers back to install a longer pipe the following Saturday. There was no sign of his tile team at all the following week, and I could not get an answer as to when they would be returning. The plumbers returned the following Saturday, June 16th as promised to install the longer pipe, adjust the hot/cold mixer and the grab bars for inside the shower. What should have been a 45 minute job took three and a half hours. They did not bring a strong enough drill or drill bit and were having problems drilling into the tile. They had to leave to get other equipment twice. They did replace the shower pipe, but instead of placing the knob on the left side of the shower head, as was done before, they had the knob facing the ceiling, which meant I still could not reach it.. They ran out of the condo so quickly, I didn't have time to see what they had done and had to call Adem to have them come back to fix it. When they came back they acted like they didn't understand what I was asking, which was just to have the knob on the left-hand side of the shower head. I though they finally understood and the proceeded to adjust it - and again bolted out of the condo. When I got to the bathroom I looked once again and this time they had the knob facing the shower floor and the hose sticking up in the air. I was furious. I again called Adem to have them return. The shower door was installed on June 20th - still no sign of the tile teams' return. Finally one of the tile team returned on June 29th to do the final grouting and he said he'd be back on Monday, July 1st for the caulking, which he couldn't do with the grout wet. Monday came and went with no sign of him. As I was walking out the door to go to work, he arrived. If I had left 5 minutes earlier, he would have made the trip for nothing because he didn't have my key. He quickly did the caulking and bolted out the door. I ran after him to ask about the caulking around the faucet, where there was a gap between the faucet and the tile. He came back and said it was done. While I was checking it out, he again bolted out the door. Then I looked around and saw that the existing caulk was a brownish caulk and what he just applied was white. I didn't know if this was an error, or if the caulk would dry clear and since he bolted, I couldn't ask him. I called up Adem furious because the contractors should give the customers time to look over their work and ask questions or voice concerns before they run out the door - especially at the end of the job. Fortunately, the caulk did dry clear and I could FINALLY, on July 3rd, consider the work complete. Overall, I am very happy with the shower and the quality of the tile and craftsmanship. However, the amount of aggravation and lack of follow-through that caused my one week job to take four weeks won't lead me to recommend the company unless you will be home through out the project and unless you have the ability to run after the contractors as they bolt out your front door.

Response from Globe Bath & Kitchen Remodeling LLC
Member, First of all, I would like to personally thank you for choosing Globe to help you install an aging in place shower conversion. We really appreciate the business and want to thank you on rating us A on price. You were very descriptive in your comments which is great for perspective customers to see your experience from working with Globe. It was upsetting to read the fact that you would not hire us again, but as long as you are happy with your new shower, that's all we can ask for. Member, Globe holds all our employees on a code of morals and ethics and we understand that our customers work 9-5 jobs or have responsibilities that require them to leave the house and that is why we tell them to give us the key and we can work while they are out. It is only out of connivance and respect for our customers, but if you wanted to stay and be a part of the installment process, by all means we would love that! As for the issue about timing, 95% of the project was completed by the first week. And as I explained to you, we were doing your renovations and another job in the same area during that same week. Due to that reason I gave you 25% off the initial price. In the contract, (which you signed) I explained all this information and told you that if you insisted we focus only on your home at the time, you would be required to wait 2 months for an opening. With that said, you insisted we start right away and gave us the impression you were comfortable with us doing both projects at one time. Lastly, I want to again apologize for the any exasperation we caused you and wanted to ensure that we are working on trying to build better relationships with our customers in terms of communication. Wishing you a blessed day. Adem

Our bathroom looks great! Globe was very thorough and professional. They stuck to the schedule, communicated well, and kept disruption to a bare minimum. A few minor issues popped up and they handled them well. One little story I'll share is I noticed a problem with one of the inlaid tiles and planned to talk to them about it. They actually noticed it themselves and fixed it before I had a chance to discuss it. That is a good symbol of their attention to detail and desire to do a quality job!The nicest thing I can say about them is that we have already used them for a small additional project since they completed our bathroom.
Description of Work: New tile, vanity, light fixtures, toilet, sink, fixtures, refinished tub, ventilation fan, painting, and tiled nook in the shower.

We set out to create a more usable bathroom in a fairly awkward basement space. Thanks to Adem's clever design and the terrific workmanship of his crew, we got a finished product that exceeded our expectations. Adem was very responsive and always available to answer questions. Cornelio and the crew were extremely hard-working and clearly knew what they were doing. I never saw any attempt to take shortcuts or force a solution for the sake of expediency. These guys did everything the right way and that really helped make this a pretty stress-free operation. They even came out on a Sunday when we experienced an issue with drainage in the new shower. As it turned out, the drain in our 70 year-old house just needed to be snaked, which they did for no charge. Very cool. They were also great about cleaning up each day and keeping the disturbance to a minimum. We had several scheduling and communication issues with the company's granite supplier, but Adem worked to make sure everything worked out well in the end. We will definitely be repeat customers if we ever decide to take on another bath or kitchen renovation.

Member, Thank you for taking the time to rate us on Angie's List! The fact that you had time to write about Globe tells us a lot about you as a customer, and we appreciate it. Although you're description was short, I wanted to personally apologize for any miscommunication we had with each other. Globe was founded in 2001, and thanks to our wonderful customers the business has grown! My team and I are always working on projects and sometimes we are over booked. But the fact that you called me and I was not able to respond back to you in a well enough manner is unacceptable. I hold myself accountable and can promise to you that if you gave us your business again, this would never happen. Since we never worked together "officially" I can promise you that you would be satisfied with our pricing and remodeling. (Just check our overall grade on Angie's List!) A more proactive way for me to handle this situation was to refer you to another remodeling agency that could give you a more immediate attention. In all honestly Member, you reminded me that communication whether a large or small amount has a huge affect on customers, and I am trying to correct my mistakes. Thank you again for taking the time to consider Globe. Wishing you a blessed day, Adem
