We contracted this company over the summer to remodel two bathrooms. After all the paper work was signed we set a date to start. Two guys came out and tore down both bathrooms leaving us with one working bathroom in the house. The work was supposed to take two weeks. From the beginning it looked like it would take longer. After the initial tear down, which took a day, the two guys came a total of maybe 6 hours in the next two weeks. We were in a hurry because of a planned vacation and they kept promising it would be done. Finally on the second Saturday after they started a new crew of people came in and started the tile work. They worked hard and long hours. In the end, most of the work was done by one guy, Gabriel. The two initial guys announced they no longer worked for the company and left things hanging at the end of the job, right when we left for our vacation. We found out after the work was almost done that Gabriel, the guy who did most of the work, was subcontracted by the two that Adem sent out to do the job. They had gone to home depot and hired him there. Gabriel did a great job and he was an honest hard working man, but he could have been anyone. We felt violated because we had a contract with Adem and his company and they brought someone in that could have been a thief . The two that started the work apparently did not know how to do tile work. Adem was oblivious that the work was done by someone else. Adem only came out to check on things at the very end. By then things had escalated. The work that Gabriel did was good. We could have saved ourselves a bunch of money by just hiring him. If you do decide to use this company, make sure you ask questions about who will actually be coming to do the work. Make sure they know what they are doing.

For this job we tried working with a new crew. Our business continues to grow from all of the positive reviews we receive. Unfortunately the crew did not meet our standards and were quickly fired. The job was completed correctly and to our standards, however there were delays as a result. The good news is we did end up finding an additional crew through this job. The foreman is Gabriel and he has since done over 8 jobs for us doing a great job on all. We welcome the chance to compete for your business.

Positives So Adem definitely provided the best price out of the other competitors we met with on Angi's List. Adem is nice guy and although not always the most responsive, he ended up giving us nice discount at the end because of the issues we had, we were very thankful for the way he handled things at the end of the work and was willing to admit some of the mistakes along the way. Unfortunately he did not show the same professionalism during the follow up repairs process. The kitchen especially is beautiful, and the bathrooms also look great. Overall, I think the quality of the way it looks at the end was very good. We are very happy with that. Negatives There were a lot of mistakes in the process and it was dragged out. Wrong things were ordered, pieces took weeks to get in, some of the work at first looked pretty cheap (but those were repaired before we paid). We had and issue with some drywall in our downstairs living room as a result of some of the work was done that needed to be replaced. The subcontractor he was using at first did some work that was pretty low quality and Adem then brought in a new guy half way through to finish the work (Luis was great). It took months longer than we were told it would take mostly due to ordering wrong pieces. There were some scratches on the cabinets that we needed to get repaired (Adem took care of it, but it took some time) to get those guys out. The biggest problem was calling a few months after everything was done and we had paid. There were some small things that were defects of their work. I spent 3 months trying to get him to send someone out. I completely understand that a contractor hates the post work punch list, but I sent him a bunch of emails and phone calls and we finally worked it out. When the sub-contractor got here there were only a few things that he was told to do even though I had emailed Adem with pictures of the work that needed to be done. This led to an unpleasant phone conversation in which I was yelled at and told that he was done with me. I completely understand that he didn't want to have to deal with us after the work was done, but this last encounter left a bitter taste in our mouth. But without that encounter I would have not posted this Angie's List posting, so I guess for you it is a good thing. When all is said and done, we love the way the bathrooms and kitchen look and we are happy with our price. We just hope that more things don't break within the year, because I think we are up the creek without a paddle when it comes getting those repaired. Adem had moments of being an amazing guy and moments of being non-responsive and somewhat aggressive. I still think he is a good guy at heart. We would not use Globe again, but we would use his subcontractors (particularly Luis) if we needed work done in the future.

Description of Work: Contacted Globe (date is approximate) to arrange for an estimate for a bathroom remodel. Was told that they did not do work in Centreville (out of their service area) which I thought was odd because they are located in Falls Church VA (less than 20 miles away). When asked why they did not service Centreville I was told that most of their employees came from DC and Maryland and it was too far. It was clear from the discussion that there was absolutely no interest in this project.

At the time of inquiry we were not servicing Centreville. We recently added to our staff and are able to serve Centreville again. We take great care in consideration with each new inquiry received and project that we take on. For us it's not always about volume or number of jobs. We want to be sure we do each job right to the fullest of our capabilities.

Representatives from Globe were punctual and responsive throughout all phases of the project. I worked primarily with Eric and Luis. Eric consulted with me on the design and layout of the kitchen, providing several design options. He amended the designs to meet my requirements. He provided a project bid that identified the costs of the project line by line. He met with me multiple times at my residence, at the Globe showroom, and at a local granite supplier. The price that Globe offered was one of the most competitive, and I did a lot of research comparing bids from four contractors. Luis was responsible for overseeing the actual onsite work. He met with me regarding any questions he had regarding the design (location of outlets, lighting, cabinet hardware, and storage/shelving units) to ensure I was satisfied with the final product. The crew cleaned the worksite each day. Luis and Eric notified me of the work schedule and timing of the project when there were any changes. From start to finish, Globe representatives acted professionally. The quality of the finished product is great. I have no regrets whatsoever about selecting them for my kitchen remodel. I would highly recommend them. My project involved saving and reusing my existing range and dishwasher, while purchasing and installing a new built in refrigerator and microwave. The cabinets were not custom built, but the Globe crew measured and installed them to fit seamlessly in the space available.

We contacted three separate kitchen design firms before we selected Globe. Their pricing was good, but not the lowest bid. We selected them because of their professionalism and responsiveness through the bidding process. I read all of the reviews on Angie's List and and was impressed with the consistency in the responses. Like everyone, we were trying to maximize the price/quality relationship for this remodel, More importantly, we wanted to avoid some of the nightmare scenarios we have heard regarding less reputable contractors. Globe lived up to all of our expectations - in many ways they exceeded our expectations. Their workers were always on time, professional, and polite. Their site supervisor was an outright perfectionist which is a wonderful quality to have in a contractor. On more than one occasion we ran into a situation that involved dealing with an unexpected an obstacle/problem (get used to this if you are doing a remodel of this extent BTW). I would propose a solution for dealing with the problem and he would instead argue for more costly and time consuming option - without an up charge to us. The reason for this was clearly that he took great pride in his work and did not want to be associated with anything he considered to be substandard. I can't speak highly enough about this company. We absolutely love our new kitchen. I would recommend Gobe Bath without a single reservation.

Overall, Globe did a decent job, but initially it took a while to get a return phone call and then they did not come to the job site as prepared to perform as I expected given that I'd sent them photographs of the job and given that I had the replacement tiles. If they'd had the right grout mix they couuld have gotten started right away. Instead, they had to go to Home Depot to buy materials. Maybe there was no way to be prepared without seeing the job first, but they could have told me I was going to have to give them time to come back and performt the work rather than letting me think they'd come in and knock it all out right away. Also, the tiles didn't line up perfectly. It's a rental condo that probably needs a comprehensive bathroom upgrade anyway, but it wouldn't have been acceptable for my personal residence. Lastly, I thought the cost was a little high. Maybe instead of sending my son to college I'll encourage him to become a tile contractor at over $100 an hour.

Thank you for the feedback. Globe is not a company that does repair work under $1,000 such as replacing a faucet, replacing a few tiles, or redoing grouting. It is not how we are structured. Each crew at Globe is dedicated to 1 to 3 jobs at a time. This allows us to focus on the details while completing major remodeling projects in a timely fashion. After receiving several phone calls from the customer and coordinating his and his tenants schedule we worked out a time to meet and do the work. The reason this job was considered was because the property was located around the corner from a large bathroom remodeling project we were working on. Also, the customer said he had all of the tile and supplies on hand. When we arrived that was not the case. Our foreman had to make a trip to home depot to pick everything up making the job twice as long as originally planned. The customer was advised by us that the tile and grout would not match up to the existing tile. It was recommended by us to remodel the entire shower, however the customer did not want to due to budget and this being a rental property. On average, our bathroom remodeling projects range in price from $10,000 to $40,0000, while kitchens range in price from $15,000 to $75,000. To receive a C rating for a $425 job the likes of which we typically avoid seems out of place considering the previous review was for a multiple week $50,000 kitchen remodeling project where A ratings were received across the board. Nevertheless, we move on. As a company, Globe Bath & Kitchen Remodeling has maintained an A rating on Angie's List for 10 years running. During that time Globe has ranked at or near the top of all kitchen and bath remodeling companies in the DC Metro area. That is not an easy accomplishment. Quite simply our crews are the best of the best. They impress us each day with what they are capable of getting accomplished. Each crew has been with us for 5 + years. They are very dedicated to their work. Other reasons for our reputation is our expertise, design ideas, professionalism, and competitive pricing. Further, the brands and materials we supply are of high quality. As recent as two weeks ago we opened a second showroom at 2775 A Hartland Rd Falls Church, VA 22043. There we display cabinetry, countertops, flooring, etc to provide a one-stop shop. Please contact us if you'd like to visit our our showroom or have us come out and take a look at your potential remodeling project. We look forward to hearing from you. -- Eric Shipe Director of Operations Globe Bath and Kitchen Remodeling 2775A Hartland Rd Falls Church, VA m. 703-755-0479 eric@gbkremodeling.com www.gbkremodeling.com

Overall I was very pleased with the service. I am happy with this company for two reasons. First, the quality of their work is flawless, particularly the tile work in the bathroom, which included tile on the ceiling to accommodate the steam shower. Second, due to the unusual shape and size constraints of the bathroom, I thought they offered some good ideas for the layout of the bathroom to maximize space and make it functional (which it was not before the remodel). The kitchen came out great too but the greatest benefit of this remodel was having a functional bathroom.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen and bathroom remodeling, which included combing two small bathroom that shared a common wall into one bathroom.
I feel very luck to have found (through Angie's List) Globe Bath and Kitchen. With all the horror stories that abound about contractors, I was nervous, especially since this was my first experience with a home remodeling project. Adem, the owner, was always professional, straightforward, and responsive (by phone, email, and text), from his prompt initial estimate until the end of the three-month project. Because I had pretty clear ideas about what I wanted, I primarily relied on Adem and the designer to tell me if my ideas were feasible. His designer worked with me to ensure that all my "wants" were incorporated in the design. Adem provided excellent recommendations regarding suppliers for the cabinets, tiles, granite, and faucets. His work crew, led by Luis, was superb, providing skilled workmanship and demonstrating considerable patience, even when faced with a difficulties related to the condo building. The crew left the apartment clean at the end of each work day. When there were the inevitable glitches, Adem ensured that my concerns were addressed and problems resolved to my satisfaction. I know that Adem was short-staffed during the period of my remodeling project, so there were delays because materials were not ready when needed. I understand that Adem has added staff to improve coordination. Overall, I am thrilled with the results and highly recommend Globe Bath and Kitchen.
Description of Work: The contractor remodeled the kitchen and two bathrooms. The kitchen remodeling involved the removal of a wall, the gutting of the old kitchen, and the installation of a new floor, cabinets, under cabinet lighting, and a granite countertop. In one bathroom, the contractor removed the bathtub and replaced it with a walk-in shower, and installed new tiles, a new floor, and a new vanity. In the second bathroom, he re-tiled the floor, installed decorative tiles, and replaced the vanity. In addition, the contractor installed new closet doors throughout the apartment, put crown molding in the living room, and painted all the rooms.

They were on time with their estimate. They were pretty professional. Adem, of Globe Bath & Kitchen, is a good contractor but also a great designer. I wanted a stall shower installed in my small cinder-block-wall basement half-bath (toilet and sink), which not only had various exposed sewage, vent, and water pipes but also a heating duct that ran across the room below the ceiling. Another complication was a small slider window just above ground level on the outside wall. How to fit a shower in? I had three other companies come out and none had a good idea. One wanted to put the shower under the heating duct, which was not high enough to allow a shower of standard height. One wanted to put it in the corner overlapping the window, telling me that as the window was vinyl the splashing water would not be a problem (but the window is also recessed which would have allowed water to splash out thru the opening). Another wanted to do some other crazy thing and said he could do the whole job for $9,000, which I knew had to be off because another estimate was more than 3X that. Adem was the only one who had a workable plan that also turned out to be gorgeous. It's the best bath in the house and I wish it was in the master bedroom. He was also invaluable in helping me select each of the design elements (and I have a hard time visualizing these things and also making a decision). I went to his showroom and he was totally patient, made many good suggestions of floor and shower wall tile, as well as of fixtures. Most wonderfully, he knew when I was deciding on something out of fatigue that I really wasn't crazy about and would gently suggest that we keep looking. We did and it was well worth it. The bathroom is a dream and he saved me at least $10,000. He provided a detailed estimate with most elements having a URL so I could look at each again before signing the contract. His main installation workers are his own and are true craftsmen. They were sticklers for having it done right and the nicest guys. The project went so well that I am thinking of having the other baths in the house done as well. Is there an A+ rating?
Description of Work: Turned an awful basement half bath (just toilet and sink) into a beautiful full bath with gorgeous stall shower.
This was the second bathroom done by Globe. Obviously, I was happy with the first job. I am even happier with the second bathroom. It is exactly as I imagined it would be and I could spend hours just sitting in the tub and looking at the fabulous designer tiles with their Southwest tones or luxuriating in the massage given by a shower head that just came on the market. I also really like the heated floor. The 1950's style bathroom was gutted to wood studs. The floor was fit with heating elements. Sound proofing was put in between walls of adjoining bathrooms. A new bathtub with state-of-the art faucets -- both shower and tub -- were installed. A new sink with a specially ordered banjo arm counter was installed. A ceiling heating and venting system was installed and a vent redirected. The bathtub walls were tiled. A Kohler toilet was installed. Roburn mirrored cabinets were installed. New ceiling lights were installed. The bathroom was primed and painted. I really like Globe's workmen, headed by its owner, Adem. They were prompt, worked very long hours, and had pride in their work. I would not hesitate to work with the company again. So what went wrong? Only one thing. I've decided I'm not a fan of Norcraft cabinetry. The first cabinet they sent had a cracked drawer. The replacement they sent was the wrong size. This delayed final completion of the project. Nonetheless, it was worth waiting for. A big thumbs up for Globe.

We had a great experience with Globe Bath and Kitchen (GBK). We hired them to fully renovate two of our bathrooms and our kitchen. The price was very competitive and we are very satisfied with the craftsmanship. Importantly for us, GBK's bid included nearly all materials (tile, fixtures, cabinetry/vanities, handles/knobs, sinks, counter tops). We spent a few hours with GBK owner Adem at his showroom (and one of his nearby suppliers) to select tile, marble, cabinetry finishes in one afternoon and that worked really well for our busy schedules. Most of the materials arrived at our house before the work began so there were very few delays due to waiting on supplies. (The only minor delays we had were due to scheduling with sub-contractors on shower door installation and counter top installation). The work was completed roughly in the time frame estimated (only a few days over). We had one change work order and GBK was very accommodating in dealing with the issue. There were really no surprises with the price at the end - they stayed on budget. The crew showed up everyday or at least when they were supposed to (unless there was a reason not to - like they had painted the day before and they were waiting for everything to dry); was always courteous and left our house clean every day of the renovation -- they always put up plastic sheeting, drop cloths and vacuumed at the end of each day. GBK converted one bathroom from an old cast iron soaking tub with 1940s pink tile to a modern shower stall with bench. They took the bathroom down to the studs, installed insulation, put in radiant floor heat, re-wired and plumbed, and installed a ceiling fan and new lighting. The second bathroom project involved re-tiling floors and walls, tub-reglazing and new vanity, sink and toilet. For our kitchen, GBK installed a new sink, fixtures, back splash, under-cabinet lighting, gas cooktop, wall oven, and a counter top. One note for folks looking for a reasonably priced alternative to complete kitchen cabinetry overhaul: GBK is good at what they do and they are honest about what they are not experts on too: they do not do "cabinet re-facing." When we bought our house, the kitchen had great cabinets but we just wanted to change the color and look of the cabinet doors. We got quotes for re-facing from Home Depot and another competitor for "re-facing" (where they sand down the cabinet frames and apply a stick-on veneer and then install all new doors). Instead, we worked with a carpenter and GBK to order new (paint-ready) doors and drawer front from a third-party vendor (in PA). GBK sanded down the cabinet frames, and painted the doors and frames (using oil-based paint) then installed new hardware. The price was about 1/4 of the quotes from the re-facing companies. We think the outcome looks great (photo attached) though of course, the re-facing companies strongly advise against painting cabinets. Finally, we were impressed with the level of contact and constant communication between GKB owner Adem and his crew. Any request we made through Adem was immediately passed onto and implemented by the crew. We recommend staying in close communication with Adem and the crew throughout the process, as it is helpful to keep informed of the day to day process. They are a small company with a lot of jobs, and it's always a good idea to stay on top of your communication with them, and Adem is very responsive, particularly by email.

After contacting GBK to obtain an estimate on the remodel of the two bathrooms in our 1800 sq/ft townhouse, Adem responded immediately and the next day he and Eric arrived to take a look out our house. My wife and I were impressed by their knowledge and more importantly, their vision of what could be done with our limited, unique space (we have a Jack and Jill bathroom on the top level, and 3/4 bath in the basement). While we discussed possibilities with Adem, Eric measured the space, drawing up notes and plans for the estimate. We received a comprehensive estimate of the work, which thoughtfully included hyperlinks to all the vendor products so we could see exactly what tub, sink, toilet... even towel bar, would be used in the remodel. GBK's estimate was the benchmark we used to evaluate the other two proposals we eventually received. My wife and I always felt like we'd be getting the very highest levels of service and professionalism if we chose GBK. We selected a different vendor however due to timing issues. GBK's expertise is in demand and we have a very tight timeline for our installation. While we couldn't make this project work, we would certainly contact them again in the future when we look to update our kitchen.

We apologize for the initial appointments that did not meet our high standards. As a company we have a commitment to quality work. We do not compromise on any part of our bathroom or kitchen remodeling jobs. Our veteran crews get the job done right. Whenever we take on a new remodeling project we are sure the job will go as planned as we strive to WOW each customer. Feel free to take a look at our reviews from work completed to see for yourself. Lately we've seen our business grow. Thanks in large part to the large number of A rated reviews our customers have posted on Angie's List. To meet demand we've added two remodeling experts to the fold, Eric and Italo. We’ve also added another experienced crew to the company. Eric comes to us from the remodeling and residential property management industries. He has seen and managed a multitude of remodeling projects. Italo joined the team earlier this year and has quickly learned the business. Italo is officially our in-house designer capable of completing the most complex designs. Eric or Italo are happy to meet with you in gaining an understanding of your remodeling needs. The hiring of Eric and Italo with the addition of another experienced crew to an already outstanding organization is impactful. What this means to you is quicker turnaround on proposals and designs, excellent customer service, and completing your remodeling project just the way you want them done (or even better than you thought they could be). Behind the scenes we’ve positioned ourselves to meet demand. We look forward to serving you!

Mr. Adem came to the scheduled appointment to gather information for a quote. He took no notes on anything we were asking for or measurements of the rooms we needed redone. He spent a very short time in the house, approximately 30 minutes, and we haven't seen or heard from him since despite multiple attempts to contact him by phone and email. If he can't even be bothered to get back to us with a quote, we weren't about to give him a cent. This contractor is unreliable and shouldn't be hired.

I contacted Globe based on all of the wonderful reviews that I read here on Angie's list. I called the company and my phone call was returned by a gentleman (whose name I can't seem to recall and no business card was ever left.) An appointment was made, but then later canceled (the night before) due to an out of town emergency. No problem. We rescheduled for May 16th. When the representative of Globe arrived, he took a look at our kitchen and we discussed the design plans. I provided a sketch of the kitchen dimensions, from which he made note and took video of the space. No design ideas were given or suggestions were made. He nodded and answered any questions I asked. We moved upstairs and he proceeded to measure the bathrooms. I then mentioned that I would be purchasing my own materials (bathtub, cabinets, tile) and I would only like a quote on the labor and simple construction materials (nails, drywall, joint compound). He then said that he didn't have to measure. The "appointment" lasted 15-20 minutes and he only left us with the Norcraft design book (cabinets). He promised that we would receive an estimate in less than a week. Globe was the third company that we received a bid from. Overall, they finished the appointment the quickest, were the least responsive (yes, I did e-mail the company to ask about my estimate) and did not seem at all interested in the job. All of the other companies spent 45-60 minutes with us. It is disappointing that they were not willing to work with us on our job. Most of all, their lack of professionalism is shocking with so many highly satisfied customers. I only hope that they are able to treat other homeowners with respect when bidding their work.
Description of Work: Contacted the company for an estimate to remodel our kitchen and two bathrooms.

I have to be honest, this company really seemed like a complete joke. The fella who showed up, I believe his last name was Amad, could not have seemed any less interested to be in my home and doing this estimate. We were looking for an entire kitchen remodel and he was not interested in doing a portion of the floor which was to be wood. He had never heard of Carrara marble or white supreme granite which was an immediate put off since, you know, he's in the kitchen remodeling business. There was also a definite look of concern on his face as I discussed having them install countertops and I never really understood what was said about them. He proceeded to take measurements, albeit in a rather sloppy fashion and scribbling briefly into a binder. He then left the house and said the estimate would take a couple of days. I did give him a D for punctuality because he showed up on time, but it really would have been nice to receive the estimate rather than waste a half day of leave on someone who is incapable of doing anything. It's been about a month and I never heard another word, via e-mail or phone and I'm frankly relieved. I have no idea how they're getting the marks that they are on this site, makes me wonder about the effectiveness of Angies List in it's entirety.
Description of Work: Not much. He showed up to measure so that he could provide an estimate. Never heard from him again.

Based on Angie's customers recommendations I signed up for an estimate for a kitchen and bathroon remodel for my newly purchased Condo in Dc. Adem and his employee showed up on time but from the very start he did not seem interested in the job. He seemed rushed and uninterested in taking measurement let alone trying to ask questions finding out what I am trying to accomplish. He said he is too busy and he CAN NOT TAKE ANY JOBS because he already has TOO many Customers. The job seemed overwhelming to him and he said he will not be able to start the job till Sept. He could have easily told me that when I was making the appointment so I didn't have to take the afternoon off from my job to meet with this unpleasant and rude contractor. I showed him the bathroom and he looked around and he said the job is not whorthwhile to him... I was not sure what he meant because he had not given me a price. He said the job is too big and he was not interested and rudely walked out the door without saying goodbye. I give this contractor F rating for his Attitude, F rating for his communication, and F rating for his professionalism. SAVE yourself time and DO NOT CALL THIS company. Obviously all the success from Angie's list has gotton to his head and he thinks he is a big shot and that iis why he can be rude and obnoxious. I am still puzzled if he is uninterested in any new job, why does he bother with making the appointments in the first place.

Response from Globe Bath & Kitchen Remodeling LLC
The job, while it did have its individual complexities, was not too big for us to complete. We take on large and small kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects on a daily basis. At the appointment the prospective customer was picking and choosing what she wanted us to do. There was a wall she wanted to remove. We were not sure if it was load bearing without first breaking into it. She said she could get a handyman to tear down the wall. She also mentioned hiring a handyman to move the gas line and tear out the cabinets. Typically, when we take on remodeling projects, we do all of the demolition and any movement or installation of gas, plumbing, or electric lines before installing flooring, cabinets, counter tops, appliances, etc. Additionally we do a complete kitchen design. All work completed is described in detail in our proposals, which the customer reviews and signs before work is started. The bathroom was a bigger job then made out to be. She wanted to install a washer and dryer as well as move plumbing. In a condo this is not always quickly or easily done as changes in plumbing, electric, gas, etc has to be coordinated between unit owners and or the association. Unfortunately, her time frame did not match up with ours as she was looking to have the work completed ASAP to put on the market for rent. Not every person we meet with is looking to start work immediately and complete within a compressed timeframe. For most jobs we typically book six to eight weeks out. We value Angie’s List greatly and give priority to those who contact us from Angie’s List. We are very thankful for Angie’s List and all of the positive reviews we've received over the years. We look forward to establishing more positive relationships and remodeling experiences through Angie’s List.

This is my second remodeling experience and this was a very positive one. I interviewed several contractors before settling on Globe. The estimates I got ranged from $18000 to $45,000 and I cannot imagine that the $45K would have turned out any better. Some contractors balked at putting in a pocket door and in floor heating. Adem, the owner, had no issues but I quickly understood why..his foreman Luis is top notch. I have never seen a crew work so hard and so many hours. We had a timeframe for getting this done and it went over by only three days which is pretty good in my book. Adem was fair and honorable and so were his employees. They were professional and they cleaned up at the end of each day.

I would use this company when I am able to continue with my kitchen remodel.
Description of Work: I asked for an estimate on a kitchen remodel and replacing carpet with hard wood flooring. The employee who came out for the estimate was honest and fair. He gave his opinion on what would be the most cost effective remodel and was realistic about what could and could not be done (did not just agree with all of my ideas and say he could do it). Due to finances, I have to delay the remodel on the kitchen but would definitely consider using this company.
Our home was built in 1986, and the bathrooms had been remodeled 20 years ago. We opted to do both a master and a hall bath at the same time. The work began on November 1, 2013 and, as promised, both bathrooms were completed (97%) and fully functional in 3 weeks. Adem's employees were very detailed oriented and cleaned up after themselves each day. They were able to solve any problems that arose and when they completed the last little bit of work, they worked as hard as they did in the beginning....meaning they didn't have one foot out the door before they were finished. We would highly recommend Globe and will use them, again, when it's time to do our kitchen.
Description of Work: Two complete bathroom remodels, including design, tile work, plumbing, electrical, and painting. The first bathroom was a large master shower with a glass tile wall design. This bathroom included a shower bench, shower shelving and a frameless glass door. Outside of the shower, mirrored shelves/wall were installed over a cabinet in a small cubby area. The second bathroom was a hall bath that had tiled walls capped with a marble crown molding at the ceiling. Again, the back wall had an intricate tile design. Globe's employees were professional, prompt and always provide quality results. They are highly recommended for discerning customers. Their customer service is like no other's!

Initial response was prompt and I based my decision to go with this contractor on the fact I was working with a tight schedule. Initial POC/salesman promised the world and convinced us GBK could meet our requirements. We needed a new kitchen and powder room, but in 8 weeks or less because we were expecting. After reassuring us that they could work with our timeline and budget, we submitted a deposit but had to wait over 2 weeks for any real progress. The initial POC/salesman was to act as the Project Manager, but was consistently late and non-responsive. After growing frustration with the lack of progress and communication, we reached out to the owner Adem and he personally took our calls on his vacation. He was brought up to speed on the contract and our need and came to visit our home to evaluate the project for himself the following Monday. At that point, he personally assumed the Project Manager role for us and made sure things progressed. We were forced to choose all of our cabinets, floors, materials, etc again but in an effort to meet our time requirements, he even substituted a higher quality and cost materials that were more readily and easily available. Even though the project lasted a little longer than planned, we are very happy with the final work and appreciate the time and effort Adem put into honoring the commitments of his employees. His contractor crew, lead by Calixo, is excellent! Despite the rough start, I would definitely recommend GBK and plan to use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Kitchen and powder room remodel. Older home and kitchen required updates. Added dishwasher and cabinet space. New appliances and lighting installed. Minor plumbing and vent work necessary. Tile floors installed and paint in both rooms.
