These guys went above and beyond. They picked up my lawnmower from my back yard when I was at work, fixed it within a couple days, and returned it to my back yard. They also mowed my back yard because it was so long. They absolutely did not have to do this. They were very nice and very professional to deal with. Very helpful. Great attitude.

The individual answering the phone stated that Adam would be contacting me. Adam is a separate contractor - Discount Appliance Repair (also in Angie's List)). I appreciate the fact that Appliance Fix-it referred me to a GOOD contractor. I did notice that Adam was written up in several of the reports for Appliance Fix-it!!!! Knowing what I know now I would not have bothered calling Appliance Fix-it I would have called DAR directly.

As I was about to bake cupcakes on a Friday afternoon at 4:00 pm for a birthday party that evening, I realized that my oven wouldn't heat up. Facing a dinner party two days later, I feared that I wouldn't be able to get my oven fixed in time. I called Discount Appliances Repair after 4:00 pm on a Friday and spoke to a very helpful technician within 15 minutes of my call. The technician (Adam) came the next morning (a Saturday); diagnosed the problem very quickly; replaced the igniter with one in his truck; and successfully completed the repair within 20 minutes. Adam was prompt, courteous, and skilled -- I would definitely use DAR's services again.

I brought in the vacuum cleaner because it was not working properly. I was told that once they checked it out, either way it would cost me a minimum of $80.00, with a $20.00 deposit to leave it. If the repair is over $80.00, they would tell me it isn't worth the cost of fixing it. I received a call early the next morning, telling me the vacuum was fixed and ready to be picked up. I arrived and found out the nozzle was clogged and I paid the remaining $60.00, since I had already paid the $20.00 deposit fee the day before. I used it a few days later and discovered a rattling sound, once I started vacuuming. So I returned again and told them my problem. I left it overnight. Got a call the next morning, telling me it was ready. I arrived to pick it up and there was something in the motor that they removed. No charge. Everyone was very friendly there, and I definitely would return. Oh and I also had some keys made, since they do that too.

They were absolutely terrific at Appliance Fix-It Inc. I will make the trip to them again the next time I need that help. They explained what they were doing. They answered my questions. They were helpful and courteous. They were a little pricey, but I didn t mind. I got what I paid for.

I called appliance fix-it. They sent Adam from one of their subcontractors, DAR. Adam arrived on time, performed the dishwasher repair quickly and effectively. He was very responsive and impressive in his knowledge of the problem. I will call appliance fix-it again and I will ask for Adam.

Very pleased with work and technician. When you call them, try to get Adam to come out and do the work. He is punctual, friendly and has good information about both new and old appliances. I was glad their warehouse had on hand the part I needed. I feared having to replace the 30-yr.-old stove for lack of existing replacement parts. I could not locate model number of part or appliance (if you can, have that info ready), so it necessitated an appointment to have him come out to check the unit, order the part, then another to bring it back and install. Did not result in excessively high fees, so didn't mind the two service calls. Very pleased with Adam's work, and the company overall.

They were really great. I had driven kind of a long way to get there; they were very accommodating and sharpened the knives while I waited. I brought a book to read, thinking it would take awhile, and I was done in approximately 20 minutes; he was actually helping another customer when I came in.

Our Miehle cannister vacuum suddenly stopped working and my husband, who is handy with most machines, was unable to determine the problem. We dropped it it off at Appliance Fix-It and they had it fixed and ready to go the next day. It has worked perfectly for the three months since. We thought the price was a little high, but we don't have any basis for comparison and the results were excellent. We'd definitely go back.

Excellent Job. Very professional and had parts on hand and did service right on spot as a walk-in.

They all work, fixed within a week. Even though they are older machines they now start on first or second pull. Very professional. Advised me as above to drain gas tanks before storage and keep a rag in the tank to prevent fumes from accumulating, or run at least once a month. Price is reasonable, if not cheap. About $200 to fix chipper, $150 for lawn mower. I dropped off the equipment, don't know if they charge more when they pick it up. Only disappointment is for a small aquarium chiller that's basically a small refrigerator which they wouldn't service. They won't do freon recharges since it's considered a hazardous material.

They were very good. I was very pleased with their service. They were prompt and thorough. When they repaired it, I accidentally left it outside. Water leaked into the gas tank, making it unusable. They replaced the gas tank, and did not charge me for it, even though it was my fault. They were very courteous and I would definitely use them again!

I took a sewing machine in for repair because the thread from the bobbin bunched up. The motor worked and the bobbin was in the machine when I left it with them. They charged me a deposit of $20 on an anticipated $79.95 service charge. They charged me an additional $2.25 to get it back. When I got the machine back, they told me the motor seized up and it was unrepairable, no good. I thought that was very strange so I took it to another shop who said only the bobbin was missing; the machine / motor was fine. I wrote Appliance Fix-it and asked them to reimburse me for the $22.25 and the cost of a $15.00 cost of a new bobbin and they did not respond. This the second such bad experience I have had with them. The first was with a vacuum. I will never EVER go to them again. They are dishonest. ($37.50)

A real person answered the phone on a Saturday afternoon! I was told that the subcontractor would contact me within an hour. He did. He was there that afternoon. Ordered the parts while there; came back the following Tuesday to finish the repair. Neat, pleasant, educated men, one doing the repairs. We had a nice talk about politics (we have a campaign bumper sticker in our window). I will contact the company and the subcontractor if I have any further need for large appliance repair, or anything else on their list.

They did a great job. The lawnmower looked as good as new and runs great.

They did no make it out to pick up the lawn mower the night they promised but they called me the next day, picked it up and returned it to me in 24 hours.

I was very happy with the service. I called from work and was surprised that they could do the repair the same day. My daughter was home so she oversaw the work. She said they were very professional and knew what they were doing. They explained what had broken and the repairs that were needed before they did the work. They cleaned up everything afterward and even checked for any lint buildup in the exhaust hose. Since I hadn't expected same day service I arraigned to send them the payment the next day. Very nice to work with.

I called Appliance-fix-it to help me with my dryer when I was going on an extended trip. I called them at about 3:00pm, and their fix-it guy arrived at about 6:30pm and took about an hour to clean out my dryer and associated pipes of 28 years worth of accumulated lint. Appliance fix-it uses a "sub-contractor" called "A-plus" and the man (David Jackson) is WONDERFUL. I've used Appliance-Fix-it for a number of things and I have never been disappointed. This is a small but EXCELLENT business.

It went very well! After checking the list, and making a few calls, I brought it to Appliance Fix-It, located near Carlin Springs and Rt 7. They said they would take a look and get back to me. They called back with an estimate the next day, and I approved the work, to be picked up about a week later. They called back to let me know when it was ready. When I arrived, the fella at the counter definitely knew who I was--and let me know that no one was allowed to touch the Ferris wheel while it was drying! They appeared to have as much concern for my Mom's decoration as I did, which I appreciated. The repair was very professionally done, and it works perfectly now. Understandably, I was careful with it delivering it home, and it was in a spot where it could be seen, but would not be touched by the kids. The repair is barely noticeable to the eye. They did an excellent job setting the arms so that the wheel spins correctly. Thanks, for obvious pride in workmanship!!
