I was quoted $15,000 to $17,000 to replace a whirlpool tub with a shower over the phone without even having "Two Poor Teachers" conduct a site visit to discuss the details and see what the work in my house would entail. I was told by Jeremiah they "have done similar work in the past and that amount is about a ball-park figure to do the work from their experience." He also mentioned something about "pre-qualifying the job" ... Really?!?! Never heard that one before. A well-known bath and kitchen remodeling company provided a proposal to do the same work for about 73% less of what "Two Poor Teachers" quoted. Yes, we live in McLean and that should not qualify for the prices to be unreasonable. Jeremiah was professional over the phone but "Two Poor Teachers" just pre-qualified themselves to never be called in the future by me, family and friends, and neighbors as well. What's even more amazing, I came to find out, is that "Two Poor Teachers" has one of their deals exactly what I want done but for $4,900 (ceramic tile shower replacement) not for the $15,000 to $17,000 I was quoted. Just amazing......

It is unfortunate that the reviewer above reacted so harshly to a simple and professional system. To begin with, I made several cautionary notes in my database after our phone call noting that the reviewer had been oddly aggressive throughout the call and had personally raised several red flags for me before I even gave pricing. To quote, "It seemed he wanted someone to bully and barter with." After listening to the client's requests I gave him an estimated ballpark assuming many upgraded materials that the client requested during our conversation. This included a high quality 60" double vanity with granite top, coordinating mirror, lights, tile, toilet, deletion of electrical and whirlpool tub, rerouting of drainage for new shower, and an expanded shower with a custom glass shower door. There was over $5,000 budgeted for materials in just the vanity items and shower door. To claim that one has received a price for equivalent work at 75% less price is simply impossible. You can get a $50 faucet or a $500 faucet. A low price does not make a quote apples to apples. After hearing the ballpark price ranges the client became almost openly hostile. At that point I knew that this was not a client we wanted to work with and did not give him more affordable options or attempt to pursue a working relationship with him. I informed him of the benefits of working with a company such as ours, (No-Subcontracting, Worker's Compensation, 10% Down with No money Due till then end of the project), and let him know to make sure he was getting apples to apples comparisons on materials. If we were in the ballpark at that point he was free to give me a call back and we'd be happy to give him a site visit and a detailed personalized quote.

This took two hours because he was good at his craft and wanted to make sure it was done right. He was prompt and on time and I would recommend him for any handyman work.
Description of Work: The projects performed were: re installing a cabinet that fell off the wall, fixing the track on a sliding mirror door, checking and repairing other cabinets in the kitchen. Repairing a rod for clothes in one of the closets. This took two hours because he was good at his craft and wanted to make sure it was done right.

We'd had difficulty finding someone to install an island in our existing kitchen, until we called Two Poor Teachers. They were very responsive, and even though it was a small job, they took it seriously. We put in a request online and received a call within a day to set up an appointment at our home. Jeremiah walked us through the whole process, making sure our vision matched what was practical for our space, helping us find vendors for cabinets and granite, and lining up labor to complete the installation. We had a minor electrical issue afterward, and Reggie (a project manager) was very prompt, thorough, and courteous in resolving it. We love our new island and we love Two Poor Teachers! We will call them again when we're ready to renovate our master bathroom.

Reggie arrived within the time specified and did a professional job under rough circumstances. The are where he had to work was very confined but he used his experience and imagination and did a professional job. A few days later the faucet began leaking again. He responded in a timely manner and located that it was a problem with the faucet and not the work that he performed, He was able to remedy the problem with no problem and no additional cost.

I was pleased with how smooth everything went. I really liked the mobile showroom. It saved me a lot of time and I actually enjoyed coffee with Jeremiah while he showed me everything and had some great ideas and suggestions. I will be recommending Two Poor Teachers to my friends and will probably call them again when I get ready to re-do both bathrooms.
Description of Work: Kitchen Remodel. Two Poor Teachers removed my old kitchen and put in a new one. This included moving the window and the plumbing, new cabinets and island with a wine cooler and rack under it. They put in a double oven, double stainless sink, and a cook top with Jenn Aire for grilling. The finished job looks great. The window is now a slider for service to my deck.

The spicket we had was probably the original spicket that came when the home was built. They promptly contacted me to set up a date for the work. Jeremiah was the technician who came out. He spent about two hours in total on the job. He felt that he could find the replacement parts at a local hardware store so that there would not be any additional costs for drywall and repairs needed. He spent about fifteen minutes calling around to find the part. He located the part, left to pick it up, and came back. He was able to install the part correctly. We paid just the $33 in additional costs for the parts that he picked up for us. He was able to save us costs by not having to complete additional repairs. Everything worked out very well.

Thanks for looking us up and providing a positive review... Would be nice to see an "A" on price seeing that we did travel to get parts to save some money :) .........But that's OK, as Long as you are Happy with the end results and would look to us for your larger projects..Please keep in mind that we do over 250 bathrooms a year from simple to completely custom and over 20 Kitchens a year!!!!! And we do this all with the best guarantee's in the business with a Great Reputation in the Northern Virginia area for over 15 years. Thank you for the business... Ken and the TPT team!!
My first contact was less than 24 hours after I'd submitted an online request for a quote. During the consultation a few days later my contact for sales (Jeremiah) answered every question and explained every detail of the contract. He had samples for me to review and said I could shop for my own items as well. I opted for the samples shown to me during the consult because I'd already done quite a bit of looking around and was familiar with some of the product samples available (vanity, tub, floor tile, shower tile). My project was scheduled to start on a Monday and wrap up that same week on Thursday or Friday. Due to weather delays, the project started on Tuesday and the crew worked Wed-Sat and completed the following Monday. Additional time was required due to some unforeseen requests (replacement of insulation determined during demolition). I had the same crew each day. They arrived on time, were courteous to me (and my cats) and answers all my questions when I checked in with them each day. Overall, a great experience and a month later I couldn't be happier.
Description of Work: 2 Poor Teachers did my bathroom remodel in early March of 2014 and provided outstanding service from beginning to end. Their services included new tile floor, bath tub, toilet, shower tile, insulation behind the shower, drywall, vanity and sink—everything but the ceiling was replaced.

Two Poor Teachers has completed four projects in our home over the last 4-5 years. They completely remodeled our upstairs and downstairs baths, created a second room in our basement, refinished the front part of the basement and staircase, and renovated the kitchen/dining room. We had a different team for each project. Without fail they were professional, eager to do the job to meet our specifications, punctual every day, and finished the project quickly. Our complete kitchen renovation took 2 weeks?everything was replaced including wall, flooring, electrical, and cabinetry. Our friends laughed when we told them it would be done in two weeks, but we had no doubts TPT would complete the job on time and they did. They have a large enough team on site to get the work done quickly. Most importantly, they have people who work for them that have the needed skills (plumbers, electricians, tile work, etc.) so there is absolutely NO SUBCONTRACTING. I recommend them highly and hope you will talk to them before doing any home repairs/renovations. They are an excellent company.
Description of Work: This project was a renovation of the basement and the staircase downstairs. Flimsy wood paneling was replaced by dry wall, insulation was added to the walls, ceiling was repaired and new light fixtures installed, electrical repaired where needed and all painted.

My condo unit is about 16 years old, and the kitchen and both bathrooms were in need of an upgrade. I was very pleased with Two Poor Teachers throughout the entire process (from estimate to completion). The workers were punctual and professional, and were excellent about soliciting input on design options (as they would arise) throughout the project. The Project Manager (Reggie) was great to work with, and was always responsive. The work was completed on time, and on budget.

Initially we visited a few other retail remodeling stores but were receiving estimates in the $20,000 range and a time estimate of around 3 weeks. We have only a single, relatively small full bath and this seemed outrageous to us, not to mention we could not manage to be without any bathroom for that long. Then we saw TPT's package deal for a full bathroom remodel and it turned out to be the best deal BY FAR! Additionally, they promised it would take only 5-6 days and put the work dates into the contract. I do want to point out that we were less concerned with having full control over every minuscule detail of our bathroom and more focused on simply updating it to the point where it feels clean, new and comfortable. The old room had a LOT of weird issues including carpet in the "powder area" (why the previous owner would do that is completely beyond me!) and just an overall feeling of being really old. I bring this up simply because the package deal has limited options with regards to tiles, fixtures, etc. and the base price covers more basic options. I say this not as a negative, simply something to be aware of. You can certainly make upgrades, though there will be some additional cost. With that said, we were extremely happy with every choice we made and how it came out in the final product having made only a few hundred dollars extra in upgrades. Additionally, we paid extra to have a door frame removed and entryway widened (the bathroom was unnecessarily split into two rooms beforehand). Lastly, the package deal unfortunately did not include painting, which we paid the crew directly to do separately and was not included in the final cost provided in my review. The crew was originally supposed to start on a Monday but a major snowstorm hit the area, which quite understandably delayed product deliveries and the team. The crew started promptly at 7:00 AM the following day and WORKED THEIR A**** OFF to make up the time. Amazingly, they finished the entire job in just 4 days and everything looked gorgeous! I was out of town for work during most of the week, but Jeremiah and Reggie kept in regular contact and provided me with all relevant updates, including photos. After arriving home to find my beautiful new bathroom I noticed two minor issues - a slight leak from the sink and that the shower temperature was not as hot as it had been previously. Impressively, TPT had their guys back within 24 hours to rectify both issues - just required a quick tightening of the p-trap and temperature adjustment within the shower handle fixture. Everything was working perfectly afterwards and it truly showed me that TPT is dedicated to customer satisfaction. Overall I was extremely impressed with TPT from start to finish. You will not find a better deal in this area. TPT manages to keep project costs much lower than competitors by removing a physical showroom from equation, which is no doubt why we were getting estimates at nearly 3 times the price from others.

I had a leak in my master bath and my homeowner's insurance was covering the cost to replace the wall tile, so I took that opportunity to upgrade the entire master bath. I retained Two Poor Teachers for the remodel. There were issues from the start. First, my bathtub needed to be reframed and the project manager was ready to increase the cost. However, the salesman, Jeremiah Klein, had approved the tub I purchased and told me that it would be better for me to buy it than him. (I wanted the exact same tub that I had - just without the Jacuzzi.) I was not charged for the additional work. The TPT crew told me that Jeremiah had not measured the tub properly. Next, Jeremiah estimated the cost of the granite vanity top to be $600.00. I had selected granite that was priced at $50.00 per square foot. The actual cost for the granite was $900.00. I did have to pay the extra $300.00 and was told by the granite subcontractor that Jeremiah's measurements were off. The project was to be completed in one week. It was, except there was no glass enclosure on the shower. Jeremiah didn't tell me that would take an additional 3 weeks. I was told by the glass subcontractor that I was not the first TPT customer who was not informed about the glass timing. Although I told Jeremiah that I was not replacing the bath accessories (towel bars, etc.), the crew removed and discarded them. They replaced them, but the charges did appear on my bill (they were deducted). I was under the impression that when the work was done, Jeremiah would review the invoice with me. He did not. I was emailed a 6 page invoice with mostly indecipherable Home Depot abbreviations. When I questioned the items on the invoice, I was sent a revised invoice which included Home Depot SKU numbers so that I could look up all of the products online. I found many items that either should not have been charged or were questionable. These items were deducted. Finally, Jeremiah also told me that the bathroom would be "paint ready" when they finished. As it had been professionally painted last year, I was expecting to touch-up the paint. Unfortunately, it needed to be repainted. I hired painters and when they finished, the walls looked terrible. The painter told me that the contractor had not properly prepared the walls. After many emails with Jeremiah, TPT came back twice to "fix" the paint job. Unfortunately, they only did touch-up work and eventually, I just gave up. In summary, the bathroom (with the exception of the paint job) looks beautiful. However, the process was not pleasant and I would not retain TPT again. UPDATE Subsequent to posting what I felt was a fair assessment of TPT on Angie's List, I received an email from Jeremiah Klein. His email acknowledged the problems I had encountered and concluded by asking that I remove my review because it was adversely affecting their business. When I did not respond to his email, he called me. I contacted Angie's List as I thought this was inappropriate - his response should be on Angie's List; he was not trying to work anything out with me, and acknowledging the shortcomings I encountered was properly included in the providers' response. While I assumed his response on Angie's List would reflect the acknowledgments contained in his email, he obviously took a different approach - questioning my veracity and intelligence. For example, suggesting that I did not want to pay for "higher end" granite is simply false. The granite I chose was $50 per square foot - his measurements were off, so his price was off. In fact, I had the granite subcontractor install a granite vanity top in my powder room when he came to install the vanity top in the master bath. That granite was also $50 per square foot. The only difference was that this time the measurements were correct and the estimate was on point. As a result of the manner in which TPT chose to respond to my Angie's List review, I have downgraded the "professionalism" grade.

Our company has scores of highly satisfied clients who have all had positive experiences. Unfortunately this was an insurance job that was outside of the client's budget and that has influenced the severity of the client's review and cooperation. Throughout the process we worked with the client on every issue where there was a discrepancy in the interest of providing high quality Customer Satisfaction. We don't have X-Ray vision and sometimes when we take out a tub or demo existing structures we find that there is additional labor that is required. All clients are advised of this possibility in advance, as was this client. Again in the interest of Custom Service we worked with the client to resolve this issue at no additional cost. We gave the client a specific range of Granite costs which included price ranges between $40-$60sq/ft plus cost of the bowl, which did not include the backsplash. The client selected the higher end Granite and only wanted to pay the price for the lower end. The client also said that we never informed them that the Custom Glass shower door took three weeks to manufacture. There is no way that any custom door could be finished earlier than two weeks after measurement and all client's are advised of this. Regarding the clients painting issue, we did tell the client the walls would be paint ready. We also elaborated to her exactly what that meant. "The estimate does include drywall repair. We will spackle the walls and sand them. By the time we leave they will be ready to be primed and painted." What is Drywall Point Up? Drywall point up, also known as drywall touch up, is a very important phase in the drywall finishing process. The trade term “point up” is typically used in the building industry by professionals, although many homeowners may use the term “touch up” instead. This critical phase happens right after the walls and ceilings are primed and the trim is installed. Experienced Painters will patch holes, repair nail pops, settlement cracks and any other imperfections they may see. After this phase is complete, the final painting is done. This is standard practice for the 300 jobs we do every year where our crews paint. We Spackle and Sand any obvious holes or imperfections in the wall to be ready for the Paint process. The person responsible for painting also understands that the majority of tiny imperfections in the wall are not even visible until after the walls are primed. Had our crew painted the bathroom, this would never have been an issue as we would have done 1 point up after prime. Instead the client hired painters who likely used a primer/paint combo in a single step and then denied responsibility when the inevitable imperfections in the wall became apparent. When the client came to us with this and we explained the situation, they used our previous loose general language of "paint ready" to imply that we were responsible now for the Touch Up work on the paint, even though we never charged them for painting and agreed that they would handle that through a separate entity. Even after all of this we told the client that we wanted her to be happy. We sent our crew back to her job and spent 5 hours touching up the walls, the majority of which were on her walls that had been previously painted and we had no dealings with whatsoever, all at no additional cost to the client. It's not often but when an issue comes up what's important is how a company resolves it. In every possible opportunity we have gone above and beyond to work with this client throughout the process. We've reached out personally to try and resolve this with the client and have been met with continued resistance. We feel as a company that there is nothing more that we can possibly do.

They aren't quite finished but they did a great job. It's awesome! The only thing left is they have to hang a mirror, but the mirror hasn't come in yet. They came in and they never stopped. One of the things I liked was that I could leave like go grocery shopping or something, and I didn't have to worry about things missing. They are very honest and very open. They checked everything and made sure that they did it the way I wanted it. It is just a super company. Basically they said they could do it for $22,000 but I don't have the total bill yet. It might be a little less because I ordered my own tiles. They arrived on time every morning, they said they would be here at 7, and they were here at 7. The first day, they were here for 10 hours. To do a total bathroom from top to bottom in 5 days, I just can't believe that! They are friendly, competent, and professional. I thought the cost is reasonable. I am recommending them to a few friends that are going to do their bathrooms. I am very pleased.

Two Poor Teachers is an excellent company! I requested an appointment for an estimate via email and got a response within 24 hours. Jeremiah came on Monday Jan 6, looked over all the needed work, and sat down with me to go over my budget and concerns. Everything was decided that day, work started on the 13th, and everything was finished by the 17th. The crew showed up on time every day and were professional and courteous. I was called in several times to give my opinion on how I wanted some things (location of soap dish, towel rack, etc.). Reggie was the project manager and Pete was the manager of the crew. I think Pete is a true craftsman, because my bathroom is beautiful! I did have to call them back with two very minor issues. They came back with no complaint and dealt with them immediately. TPT did a beautiful job, were on time and stayed within my budget. I would use them again in a New York minute!

Reggie came to my home to give me an estimate for 3 hall sized full bathrooms. He was polite, professional and punctual. 2 baths were straight pull and replace, the third replaced the tub with a shower. The verbal estimate was a little higher than some of the others. They were able to start the next week . The main reason I didn't choose them is that the estimate didn't include painting. I thought the estimate was reasonable and will contact them for my next project. I initially gave the price a "C" rating because it was in the ballpark with the other quotes. It was about average. I have since changed the price rating to a "B and the overall to an "A" to better reflect my experience with this company.

Response from TWO POOR TEACHERS INC
Two Poor Teachers would like to thank the member for writing a review and quoting the professionalism of our company. Two Poor Teachers provided a verbal estimate of the entire "3 bathroom remodeling" project on the spot including all materials, granite, porcelain, glass shower doors and upgraded fixtures for $25,200. We guaranteed the start and completion dates, buy all of the installation items, and only ask for only10% down (in this case $2500) with nothing else due for at least 1 week after we are completed with the project. Two Poor Teachers can Paint the bathrooms for $380 per bathroom, but we know that our painting costs are not competitive as our employees are skilled plumbers, tile setters etc.. I the owner contacted the member who graded us with a "C" in price to ask if the individual they selected was licensed and carried workers compensation insurance and Liability Insurance, Member was also asked if the contractor was pulling permits which will be required in the scope of remodeling the one bathroom. This member has yet to respond. To allow Angies List Members decide if our price deserves a "C: I would state that the requests and Materials we were going to provide for the install were calculated over $9500, disposal fee's and delivery fee's of $375 thus leaving the balance of $15k in labor for 3 bathrooms, one being a shower from tub conversion. The reason we were "a little higher" is because we believe in playing by the rules and have been doing so since 1999. We wish the member luck and hope that the individual treats them fairly.
Everything went well. Quick response when we requested estimate. Appointment scheduled and project manager was thorough and efficient with the estimate. We liked the estimate and then requested they bring the mobile showroom so we could select our materials. As we were wanting a very basic upgrade ("pull and replace") for all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen it was nice to be able to choose from the pre-set packages and then make minor adjustments. For example, for one bathroom we wanted a little more decorative vanity and tile so we were able to work with the samples in the showroom to put together a different combination. This will change the base price but project manager is very good at working to stay in your budget. For the kitchen we were directed to contact a local kitchen/cabinet company who routinely works with TPT's. We did have to go there to select our cabinets but it was not a problem. We then paid for the cabinets separately. (Approximate cost of service in this review does not include the cost of the cabinets). The other option is to find your own cabinet place and TPT will work with them to coordinate. Most, if not all of the materials came from Home Depot and were included in the estimate. If you prefer to go out and find your own tile and toilets, vanities, etc then the price will be lower. Each bathroom renovation was scheduled to take 1 week and the kitchen about 10 days. They were able to work on 2 bathrooms at a time and then ended up starting the kitchen while the last bathroom was being renovated. This worked well for us as total renovation time was just about a month and was completed on time. (All the other companies we consulted gave us a minimum of 6 weeks completion estimate.) As with any renovation there are always unexpected expenses. In our case there were 2 minor issues in 2 of the bathrooms. But the team was very good at explaining the issue and the solution and giving us an accurate estimate of the additional cost before going any further. In both cases the possibility of the particular issue had been discussed during the estimate so it was not so unexpected. The work crews were excellent. I cannot say enough about how professional they were. They obviously knew what they were doing and were very patient at explaining things to me and keeping me in the loop with all stages of the project. This was very important to me because I did not see the project manager as much as I expected. (This was not the same project manager we met during the estimate phase which was disappointing). The PM did respond to my messages and he did keep in touch with his crew leaders but I guess I expected to see him a little more often than the handful of times he stopped by after the initial walk-through at the beginning of the project start. However, his trust in his crew leaders is well-deserved and overall the project went very smoothly and within budget.

We were very happy with the result. The workmanship was excellent due to the experience of the employees of Two Poor Teachers who did substantially all of the work. The team that worked on our house was always on time and did a quality job. They were very competent and trustworthy. All of the companies we worked with for the bathroom fixtures, cabinets, etc., that were suggested to us from Two Poor Teachers, were very helpful in helping to plan out our needs and to provide materials as needed. Overall, the quality of workmanship was very good.
Description of Work: The provider was tasked with totally remodeling a master bath and doing a "swap out" of a small bath. The provider suggested other companies who we worked with to get specific items (i.e. plumbing company, cabinet and granite company, etc.) Everything in the master bath was removed and walls and plumbing relocated. In the small bath, we had a small wall moved and then just replaced the existing stall shower, sink, vanity and commode.

We Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Two Poor Teachers does not sub contract any work. TPT uses it own employee's for everything accept Granite, and shower doors so to suggest anything else is disingenuous . We allow our customers to work directly with those vendors as to cut out the middle man for the best pricing. I am glad that you recognize our companies "Employee's" as being the most skilled in the industry. We use our own employees and we can control our quality issues, and the time it takes to complete a project. We would like to point out that your project started on time, finished on time, and hit the budget we set on the onset. Our Crew Leader who yourself praised, was in constent contact throughout the project with Reggie our main project coordinator and Jeff the general manager. Its unfortunate you would not consider us in the future seeing that your project turned out exceptional . While it is unfortunate to think installers can by themselves pull off a kitchen/bathroom remodel, 70% of a projects expectations lie in the coordination of design materials and making sure those materials are on the job site for a Quality Crew to install.
The work is still good. after 7 years. TPT were up on current styles and involved me in the decisions. I selected the tiles and vanities at Home Depot, but at the time, Ken sat down and we ordered much of the material via the internet which saved a lot of time and effort and then he picked them up. Two Poor Teachers does a lot of work in my neighborhood because neighbors know of their work. They have had the same stable staff for years and years. Ken the owner spends a lot of time in Florida, but directs the company and his supervisory staff via internet - Ken is quite current immediate used of technology and his staff is accustomed to effective use of IT.
Description of Work: I had Two Poor Teachers years ago. They gutted and redid 2 bathrooms, including removal of plaster walls, re-tile walls and floors, removing one tub and putting in a shower, painting and installing new toilets and vanities. They did the work in about two weeks.

It's difficult to get a project perfect when the project manager leaves mid-project. At a competitive quote, they hit the target price near enough, finished one part on time, another late, and were better than average to work with. Had the project manager remained, I think job completion would have been closer to the mark. They will be on our short list for any future work.

Two Poor Teachers has been in business in the Northern Va area for 15 yearsThe Project Manager was with our company for 7 years. We apologize for any inconvenience but would also like to thank you for recognizing the quality , price and value we provide to you on this project, the project may have taken a little longer, but we never would sacrifice quality for time. We have since hired on 3 different individuals so that if this were to happen again, we would have immediate coverage. We also note that our bid was significantly lower than two others per members comments. Thank you for using Two Poor Teachers :)

I was stopped at a traffic light when I noticed the car next to mine was a Two Poor Teachers vehicle. I honked and asked the two gentlemen inside if they had time to follow me home (four blocks) and give me an estimate for installing a basement bathroom in a townhouse. They did, and within an hour I had a written estimate in hand for labor only. The next day, my project chief, Jeremy came out with some tile and hardware samples. I was at work that day so my husband chose the vanity, the mandatory porcelain, and beautiful tiles for the floor and shower. My only complaint is that the crew failed to show up on the agreed upon start date. I called Jeremy, who was profoundly apologetic, explaining that he was moving and forgotten to let me know about the delay. The crew started work on my bathroom the next morning, cleaning the work area every evening before departing. The crew chief took great care to explain every step of the process along the way, and was truly a perfectionist. Even though the project started a day later than planned, it was completed on time! I've already recommended Two Poor Teachers to a coworker who is having her kitchen remodeled after she closes on her new house.
Description of Work: Designed and installed a full bath in a room that had been partially roughed in.

Working with Two Poor Teachers was great. Jeremiah was professional and always responsive, answering any and all questions we had. Once the actual work began, we were very impressed with the crew. They were on time every single day, they worked diligently, and they were professional, courteous, and neat. The quality of their work was excellent. The work on each bathroom began on a Monday and was completed by Friday. Reggie, the crew chief, was informative and helpful, explaining things every step of the way. Both bathrooms turned out beautifully. They are much more aesthetically pleasing and have more functional space than before. We highly recommend Two Poor Teachers. We feel that they did a great job, were reasonably priced, and were easy to work with.

Met with us to review overall project; arranged for cabinet supplier to visit and discuss our options. Helped answer our questions as we chose and purchased our appliances, sink, faucet, and cabinet hardware. Gave us a timeframe of 2 weeks from start to finish of our entire project. Excellent quality workmanship. Friendly, competent, very professional work crew. Started and ended on time. Hadn't planned to stay home throughout the project, but found that it was very helpful in answering questions immediately, clarifying our desires, and avoiding delays. Extremely pleased with the finished product and the fact that it was completely done in less than two weeks.
Description of Work: Removed old kitchen appliances, floor and cabinets, and installed new floor, cabinets and appliances. Rewired several outlets and overhead/undercabinet lights, and installed water connection for new refrigerator. Coordinated separate purchase of cabinets and countertop.

Thank you again for taking time out of your busy schedule to write us a review. We enjoyed working with you as well. Have a great 2014!
We just moved from Troy Michigan a few months ago and didn't know who to hire. We contacted Two Poor Teachers in the Connection newspapers where Jeremiah came out offered us several selections and we were allowed to bring or items to mix. The crews were excellent, clean, and a joy having in the house. They finished both bathrooms in just 9 days! I couldn't believe how organized everything was. We will be doing a kitchen next year and I will be calling if they are not too busy! I highly recommend Two Poor Teachers :)

TPT took care of my project quickly and effectively. From the initial consultation to the final day on the job. Clean, quick, on-time, knowledgeable advice, quality workmanship, and a professional staff. Easy selection of options. They exceeded my expectations. Best of all, they finished 2 full bathrooms, including needed repairs caused by water damage, in less than 2 weeks!
