A very positive experience. Peter and Junior were the team that remodeled our bathroom. They had to move plumbing and electric, built a custom, tiled shower stall, installed floor tile, new toilet and vanity, mirror and cabinet. They consulted us on every decision that had to be made. They always arrived on time. And they always cleaned up. I never once had to clean up after them. The tile work is beautiful, and it was clear that they took pride in their work. Also, the initial process of planning and decision making was quick and easy. Jeremiah came to our house and we were able to pick out everything in our home; no trips to Home Depot. The entire process went smoothly and quickly, no surprises. And we love our new bathroom.

Two Poor Teachers did an incredible job on our master bathroom renovation. We contacted them to request a quote and within a week we had a signed contract and the crew had already begun work. I believe they had an unexpected opening in their schedule which allowed them to fit us in, but regardless we were amazed at how quickly they were able to begin. The project coordinator, Jeremiah, was extremely responsive and went above and beyond throughout the entire project to ensure that we were satisfied with the end result. The crew, led by Henri, was extremely prompt, arriving at 7am each day and staying until the early evening. Our renovation was a bit more complex as we had TPT move a toilet to the opposite side of the space which required moving the supply line and tying into a drainage line. They also converted a single faucet to a double and moved the plumbing for a new shower. They were able to come up with several options for the plumbing and it turned out perfect. We also had them put in floor to ceiling tile in the shower including a bench and recessed shampoo box, floor tile throughout the entire space, and install a door and lighting. At the end of the project we had an unexpected issue with our faucet in the kitchen - we initially weren't sure why this could have been affected by the renovation, but TPT investigated and found the issue (which was apparently caused when the water pressure was turned off and then on, causing sediment to be released into the kitchen faucet). Not only did they diagnose the issue, but they contacted the provider of the faucet to determine whether it was covered by warranty, and then secured a replacement faucet at no additional cost. All in all, the project finished well within the expected timeline and it was better then we had even hoped. TPT's quality of work, efficiency, punctuality and responsiveness set them apart from their competitors. We are extremely pleased with the end result and will most certainly seek them out for future work.

We found Two Poor Teachers on Angies List and decided to give it a try. We compared HD and Lowes prices and at that point, Two Poor Teachers gave the best deal. Only 10% down, no markup on materials. How can you beat this? This was a bid complex project, I would say. When the minor problems arose which are inevitable with a project as complex as a kitchen remodel and customers like us who insist on perfection, Two Poor Teachers handled the issues to our complete satisfaction. Thank you Jeremiah for being on top of this and so responsive to our needs.

Overall it was a very positive experience. Some materials came in damaged on the first delivery which set us back a little bit but they worked quickly to get replacements and still managed to get everything completed on time. We've been burned in the past so we did a lot of research and vetted thee other companies before going with them. They weren't the cheapest bid we got but we felt it was a very good value for our dollar and have already recommended them to a friend.

My husband and I just had Two Poor Teachers upgrade our entire bathroom. They pulled up with their mobile design center which was the coolest thing I had ever seen. They were able to offer incredible options right on the spot. Great experience. We didn?t have to drive around to multiple vendors to pick out items, it was all right in front of our house. We found them to be very honest, helpful and had great advice as to what would work in our master bathroom. Jeremiah took his time understanding what we wanted. We were so happy with the quote they gave us and within weeks their team had started. Henri and his crew were very conscientious about their work and especially their clean up after each day. The guys were on time every day, which worked nicely with our work schedules. They had to redo the foundation and floor, as it was very old and had to be rebuilt prior to the new shower tile and floor installation. It wasn?t an easy job and we knew that going in. The cabinets they installed were beautiful and all the hard surfaces looked amazing. They did expert work, very detailed and cleaned up daily and were so nice and pleasant to work with. We are so thrilled with this bathroom! We had no idea it would look so nice... I can't recommend this company enough. It is a one stop shop place - they provide everything that you will need for the job. If you are looking to upgrade or remodel your bath or kitchen, go with Two Poor Teachers.

Crew members were at work on time every day and worked diligently to finish on time. They were polite and responsive to all questions. Even though the job created havoc in our lives they contained the mess and made our living in the house during the work more passable. When asked the Project Manager helped talk through an idea to determine if it was something I wanted to do, ex. the glass tile inset on the back spash. When sunlight hits those small glass tiles it makes me happy. I was very pleased with the outcome and would recommend Two Poor Teachers to others.

I had a mystery issue arise with a three way light switch to the garage. Every time the light was turned on the breaker would trip. Two Poor Teachers sent out an electrician to investigate. When they opened the switch box in the garage, they discovered that the builder had not wired it to standard. They fixed the wiring and returned the lighting to a functional state. I was extremely thrilled with the speed at which they fixed the issue. They arrived right on time and completed the work in a timely manner. Thank you Two Poor Teachers!

After several companies provided estimates but then became unresponsive when asked for clarification, we found Two Poor Teachers. We have had a wonderful experience with them. Showed up at 7 am every morning for 9 days straight and did fantastic work. They were upfront and transparent with their pricing. Recommended the granite and glass companies we would also need and because of their recommendation we received great prices from those companies as well. I have already recommended them to many family members and co-workers.

The entire process went very well. I connected TPT based on the overall reviews from Angie's list; candidly i connected three contractors. TPT provided the price closest to my budget, offered more flexible financing and made the beginning process very smooth. Jeremiah came out to the house the first time and we discussed ideas, he took measurements, etc. Within a few days we had a quote and within a week we decided to go with TPT. Jeremiah came back out and spent about 3 hours going over the products, choices and answered all of our questions. This was our first bathroom remodel. It took approx. 3 weeks for everything to be completed; excluding the glass to the shower door that came from a third party that TPT recommended. Understanding that the glass for the MB would be the last thing and take a few more weeks. Godo was the crew leader and they were at my house exactly at 7AM everyday. Not 7:05, 7:00AM ... that was impressive. They communicated with me the entire way - any questions, issues, etc. Very professional and the crew did a very good job. TPT was cheaper than the other contractors we spoke too; but the others had sales people, design people, etc. etc. and wanted to sell us more of a custom bathroom. TPT came in with really good product offerings and we had the ability to purchase products on our own if we liked something that TPT didn't offer. Overall, excellent job and would definitely recommend to friends and use them again,

Excellent service. Contacted me prior to appointment date and told me exactly what they would do. Stated that if electrical materials were needed they would pick them up. They showed up on time, were professional, did the work, and the cost was appropriate.

I spoke with them over the phone and was told they could only work on one story homes. They stated they were not insured to work on two story homes. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the Big Deal. They were very forthcoming, knowledgeable and informative over the phone.

I was referred to Two Poor Teachers through a neighbor and I was able to schedule an estimate quickly and for a time that was convenient with my busy schedule. I already had good expectations from their Angies reviews and my neighbor's recommendation, TPT really came through on my project. They had great design ideas for my master bathroom and were very helpful in the process of selecting tiles and fixtures. Their crew showed up on time every single day and kept a surprisingly clean work area(important since we had to sleep adjacent to the construction zone). The talented craftsman from Two Poor Teachers did some amazing tile work, and the functionality of the finished bathroom was excellent. I would highly recommend Two Poor Teacher Inc to anyone in the northern Virginia area that wants a quality remodeling contractor.

Jeremiah made some good suggestions for the fixtures. The old cabinet was cut into the drywall because it was oversized. The crew was very tidy about removing, replacing and sanding the new drywall. Some of the tiles around the toilet were cracked as were a few others. These were replaced like new. They didn't charge me for the ring under the new toilet and did shimming to stop the shifting because the floor is uneven. The old one used to rock. They screwed on the handicapped rails and put up the new toilet paper holder and mirror. Did a great paint job and cleanup. Looks like a new bathroom. They tore up the old wooden walk leveled the ground and installed stepping stones and sod. It turned out really well!

They messaged me and told me I should have contacted them directly before paying! What is the point of advertising a coupon on Angie's List if you are not going to do the work or if members have to contact the business first?

.From the beginning the professionalism and obvious experience of the project manager helped make this project less stressful especially as it was just before the holidays. Getting the projects finished on time was a priority and the job came in on time and slightly under budget. HIs thougthful suggestions and guidance was a great help. The crew was a pleasure to work with. They arrived on time, were respecttful of my home and worked with my deadline in mind. They took great effort to keep the mess and stress to a minimum. They cleaned up each day and at the end of the projects. Again, this made having such work done just before the holidays less of a stress factor. My project turned out exactly as I had visualized, on time and under budget. I love it and will definitely use Two Poor Teachers for my next project.

We followed Angie's List advice and thoroughly examined all the A rated providers and made appointments for estimates from three companies. Two Poor Teachers was the second company to come. We were so impressed with their representative, Jeremiah Klein, that we knew that this was the company that we would contract with for the remodeling and cancelled the third company due for an estimate the next day. Jeremiah was absolutely amazing! We had ideas about how we wanted the bathroom to look, but Jeremiah assisted in drawing up a better plan. We purchased all the cabinets and other items ourselves, his suggestions were quite useful. He listened to us and we planned the remodeling together. We did have one snafu in that the bathtub was cracked upon delivery caused by the delivery company. Reggie, the job foreman called all the supply companies in the area to try to locate another one in the same color as our special order without success. Since the bathtub is the linchpin in the installation, the crew completed the demolition but we needed to reschedule the installation until the manufacturer could replace it. Unfortunately, it did take the projected month for the new tub to arrive. Mr. Klein was in frequent contact with us by phone and by email to give us reports as to when the tub would be was delivered to Poor Teachers, It was obvious that he wanted to reassure us that our project was of utmost importance to him and demonstrated to us that customers were important as people and not just as a source of income. When the bathtub was delivered, Jeremiah juggled jobs on the schedule to see that we did not need to wait any longer than we had already. This was now the high season as folks want their remodeling jobs completed in time for Thanksgiving. Arranging this was difficult but he succeeded! The crew of workmen were professional and experienced. They were polite and tried to be as unintrusive as possible. They checked with us to determine where we wanted items installed when necessary. They were immaculate and treated our home with great care. After each day of work they cleaned up the work area and material that had been removed was taken off the premises. It was obvious to us that these men were regular employees and not day hires. While all members of the crew were wonderful, I would like to give particular praise to Gordo and Al. We are thrilled that we chose Two Poor Teachers to do the renovation and plan to hire them again when we are ready remodel another bathroom. We would like to nominate this company to the highest level of commendation.

Two Poor Teachers are great!! We bought a home that needed over $100,000 in renovations from top to bottom! We have talked to many, many contractors and by far Two Poor Teachers were the best! They are professional, ethical, fun to work with, responsive, trust-worthy, quality craftsmanship, and competitive prices! Not only did they design and renovated our master bathroom ( May-June 2014 for $20,000), but we loved working with them so much that we hired them for our 1300 square foot unfinished basement that they designed and finished into 2 additional bedrooms for us, as well as a 3 piece bath, wet bar, utility room, media room, and unfinished storage (October - November for $44,000). I felt very comfortable with the crew. Henry and his crew were very nice, patient with my changes and requests, trust-worthy and quality craftsmen! I would use them again and again!! I recommend them to a friend and they just completed her master bathroom too! I saw her the other day and she was pleased with their work as well! HiRE TWO POOR TEACHERS!!! THEY WILL DO GREAT WORK FOR YOU!!!!

The project was a three week project and the team worked very quickly. I was out of town for two of the weeks and had no issues while I was gone. In the bathroom they put in a new floor, bathtub, tile, toilet, vanity, took out a built in ledge/mirror, and fixed some sub floor damage from the toilet. The work was done within a week. In the kitchen they put in new custom cabinets, moved the stove location, the fridge location, put in a new sink, installed a new disposal, and new under cabinet mounted microwave. The also ran new lines for electricity to the kitchen and brought it up to code. The crew was on time everyday and worked quickly. It was a fast process until the last few things that had to be handled. This was mostly due to errors by the granite installers.

A little confusion on the day and time of the appointment. I called the Two Poor Teachers office number when the person was 1 hour late for the scheduled appointment. After talking to them, they realized that they made a scheduling error and promptly sent someone out to do the job. After about 2 1/2 hours everything was fixed and working fine.

The positives: The process was easy since they come to your house and have samples of tiles and ideas for vanities, faucets, etc. They came for the installation only 2 weeks after I picked out everything, and finished in an amazing 5 days (compared to 5 weeks from a previous, similar job on another bathroom). They guys were polite, arrived on time, and cleaned up at the end of each day. However, the negatives were that there were numerous problems that had to be fixed in the weeks after they were done. They installed the shower curtain rod so high that there were no shower curtains long enough to cover the space. They had to come and re-do that, which included tearing out the tiles and re-drilling at a lower spot. They put in faucets of brushed nickel but the toilet paper holder did not match, which they came and re-did. They installed the vanity on a slope so that the water on the counter ran down onto the cabinet doors and within 3 days ruined the wood. That had to be re-done and doors replaced. The medicine cabinet was installed improperly and had to be re-done. In the end, I am 80% happy with the result. The shower with niche for shampoo is great. However, the mirror hangs in the center over the vanity and sticks out from the wall, which, unfortunately, isn't where the sink is, so I have to wash my face in the sink and when I look up The mirror is off center and way too close to my face. I will probably end up getting rid of the medicine cabinet ($100 down the drain) and putting a larger flat mirror there. The positive about this company is that they promise that they won't charge you until you are satisfied with the result, and they lived up to that with me.
