I asked the cleaning service to pay particular attention to the floors especially around the railings by the stairs. The previous owners had a bird and there was bird poop everywhere. I also asked them not to clean the things that I had brought (ie, don't dust the furniture and lamps). I kept having to reiterate this before I left and only one person in the group spoke English. Obviously she either didn't speak English well or didn't relay my intentions because nothing was listened to. What I wanted was a house cleaning, not the cleaning of my belongings. When I came back 2 hours later there was still bird poop all along the stairs and on several spots on the wood floors. This was the whole reason they were hired. I had also asked them not to clean two very large rooms because the carpets had been cleaned and I did not want anything in there cleaned. Although they cleaned substantially less space, I was told that my card was already charged (card had to be given to reserve the spot), and the rate was already the agreed upon price, no way to change it. In addition, although they "dusted" the furniture, I had asked them not to touch, they failed to clean any of the ceiling fans or any of the cobwebs off of the light fixtures. Horrible experience.

I stopped using The Maids because of financial concerns. They were always absolutely on time and very trustworthy. I felt that I could trust them with a house key. They always did a good job with the work. I would certainly consider using them again in the future.

Overall, my house was cleaned but I would not use them again due to their damage of my things and the way they handled it.

I would call The Maids adequate. I have tried many cleaning companies, and it seems to me that all consider their job surface cleaning. I, on the other hand, think they are professionals and should be doing an excellent job. I am very picky about dust and find that they often forget to clean the tops of things--mirrors, the bathroom backsplashes, my microwave (which is mounted above my stove and gets rather greasy). I have had nothing broken that I know of since they have begun. If they put a ding in any of my furniture, I would never notice. They are diligent about vacuuming under sofa cushions, which I appreciate.

Over the phone they were very responsive. The cleaning crew of four people arrived as scheduled. I paid them, but then had to leave for work. On returning after they finished, I was very disappointed. An entire wall of kitchen cabinets had not been cleaned inside and windows in the room had not been cleaned. The bathrooms were ok. In the lower level, the laundry room was not touched, but the patio doors had been cleaned on both sides.

At first, The Maids were average for housekeepers in this area. In other words, the only trouble we'd had was with them cutting corners. Our original 90- to 120-minute cleaning sessions gradually fell to 60 minutes, and we found several uncleaned areas of the house, so I called to complain. I was told The Maids clock their time at each house, and our cleanings had been consistent for several weeks. I said it was consistently 60 minutes, rather than 90 to 120, but they said their records didn't go back far enough, so they couldn't confirm that. They also said it was possible that the maids were more "efficient" now, because they knew our house so well. I wasn't impressed, but I also wasn't surprised. The real problem began when The Maids began breaking our things. First, when they didn't know how to open one of our baby gates, they just forced it open and tore it from the wall, shearing the drywall. (They did so even though I work at home, and could've been asked to open it.) Then they broke a handsome pair of glass dolphins my wife had been given as a gift. Most recently they broke one of our kitchen glasses, which was especially odd, since all the glasses were inside a cabinet, and The Maids don't clean inside our cabinets. The pair of glass dolphins upset us most, and became the reason we fired The Maids. Because it is important in this case, I will mention that we live in a large six-bedroom home, with art hanging in every room, some of which is separately insured. We received the dolphins from a family member who gives us nothing but high-value gifts, and we kept the dolphins near a collection of smaller crystal animals with replacement costs of hundreds of dollars apiece. Yet because the dolphins were a gift, we could not prove their cost. The Maids' policy in this case is to find "comparable" replacement value, and they promised to research our dolphins. More than a month went by, and they never contacted us. Finally I called them, and they claimed to have found replacements for "five to fifteen dollars." Of course, these came from cheap Internet vendors. I explained that we didn't buy from such places, or own such things. The value of our home and belongings was proof of that. The Maids told us our belongings "had no bearing," and "comparable value" was what mattered. So I found several high-end dolphins like ours selling for hundreds of dollars. The Maids replied that "all" of these came with certificates of authenticity or were signed. So I showed them several high-end dolphins in the same price range, with *no* signatures or certificates... and The Maids said "all" of these were the wrong size, or were different in appearance. Yet one set I found was almost identical to the pair they broke! They offered us a "compromise" of $50. We declined, and fired them. Frustrating as this is, I'm glad we learned our lesson before they broke something truly valuable. If you have nice things, avoid The Maids!

Everything has gone very well. They are fast, efficient, and reliable, and I like that they call me the day before to give me an idea of when they will arrive.

The Maids were very good when they cleaned my home. We are now thinking of going with them on a regular basis. We may have them come out every three weeks and they charge like $135 for that. They worked out really good for us. They did not break any of our things and they got the entire house clean with no problems at all.

They do a nice job. They come close to the time they are set to come. They get my house clean and I never have any problems with the service. They price is great for what we get.

My Maids do an excellent job. There prices are pretty comparable to others if not the same. I just use them because I have for years and I have had no problems with them. Sure they have put a couple of nicks in the furniture but other than the one instance, no major problems have ever occurred.
