We hired Phoenix Home Services to build a screen porch addition. They did a fabulous job! We had some zoning issues that delayed the start of the porch, but Phoenix took care of the whole process for us. We did not have to lift a finger to fill out any paperwork or deal with any county zoning people. And because there was a delay in starting our project, they gave us free upgrades, even though the delay was not their fault! Once they started the project, it went incredibly smoothly. They were here everyday at 8 am working away on the project. They were always around to discuss any questions we had or to check in on how we thought the process was going. They were very professional and I am very impressed with their construction. We are so happy with the final project! I would definitely hire them again for any home projects we have in the future!

Phoenix Home Services was nothing short of amazing. We had thought about doing our project a couple years ago and got a quote from Clint. He was very helpful and provided some awesome 3D renderings of what our new screened in porch and stone patio would look like. We waited a couple years before deciding to pull the trigger, and when we reached back out, Clint remembered us and our project, and he was more than happy to provide an updated quote and renderings (based on some of our updated preferences). Clint was quick to respond and always provided helpful answers to our questions, all the way from the quoting process until the final day of the project. The pricing was fair, especially once we saw how much work they put into the project. They took the time that was necessary to get everything done perfectly. The project manager, Steve, was professional and easy to work with. He checked in frequently and kept us up to date on everything as the project went along. Every worker that we met was friendly and really good at what they do. It was a pleasure to work with every single one of them. In the end, we are thrilled with our new screened in porch and stone patio. We cannot stop smiling every time we step out back now. In the crazy year known as 2020, Phoenix Home Services has been a real bright spot for us. Thanks, Phoenix!

I just contacted you and verified I sent a proposal to you on August 21, 2020. I read the proposal name, address, project scope, etc to you just now. I actually had follow-up emails as well. A call to verify everything would've been nice, since everything was probably going into your spam. I hope you find the right outfit and have a wonderful experience with them. Hope all is well.

Our new kitchen is beautiful. Phoenix Home Services did an impeccable job. They guided the process efficiently, providing useful advice and offering interesting options without being pushy or overbearing. From the electrician to the plumber to the carpentry and finishing crews, all were professional, knowledgeable and highly capable, working quickly to get us into our kitchen while taking care to do the job right and well. It was a pleasure working with all of them. We have a small kitchen area, and we weren't ready to tear out walls and go for an open plan. Phoenix somehow made the kitchen seem larger and it is much more functional than our old kitchen. I was originally planning to redo the kitchen myself; I am glad I didn't.

Customer Overall Rating: Five star / SUPERIOR Every aspect of Phoenix Home Services’ incredible concept design, superior craftsmanship and outstanding project management contributed to our overall five-star, superior rating for quality, cost, schedule and performance. We are planning other home improvement projects—Phoenix Home Services will get our first call for proposals. Concept Design: SUPERIOR. We asked three contractors to bid on our project. One contractor promised a proposal within “a couple days” but, was unresponsive. A second contractor did provide a proposal about a week after our first meeting. The proposal was incomplete and did not reflect a satisfactory understanding of our design requirements and priorities. In contrast, the Phoenix design team, led by Clint Asmar, Owner and Lead Designer, provided a complete, professional, fully priced proposal including floor plan and three-dimensional computer-generated views of the design within 48 hours after our initial meeting. The design captured every one of our design requirements and priorities, was fully priced and provided a designed construction plan / timeline. Craftsmanship: SUPERIOR. Phoenix Home Services has assembled an incredible team of master / journeyman stone masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and painters many (if not most) of which bring decades of experience to any project. The stone masonry team demolished our old patio, dug ditches for footing, set forms and laid substrate and reinforcing wire all on the first day of work. Pouring concrete started the next day. From that point forward, Tomas and Manuel, Point Masons, led the stone masonry team (Gregorio, Juan) building forms, pouring concrete, applying stone trim, setting travertine patio surface and constructing the outdoor fireplace—all to code and on schedule. The framing, electrical, plumbing, painting and finishing team were equally impressive. Rudy coordinated each day’s work with the framing team (Naom, Santiago, Sergio), electrician (Mo), painter (Reinaldo), plumber (Geoff) and the landscaping team (Jose, Josue, Rene) to ensure each day ended with measurable progress while preventing rework or delays. As is the case for any project on a 56-year-old house, unforeseen issues (rerouting of vents and electrical wiring restoration) did occur. However, in every case, we were informed of the issue, the recommended fix and any additional costs involved. In every case, the fix was exactly right and cost, if any, was reasonable. All framing, electrical, plumbing painting, finishing and landscaping were completed on-schedule and to code. Project Management: SUPERIOR. The entire leadership team, Steve Bowes (Owner and Project Manager), Clint Asmar (Owner and Lead Designer) and Brian Rosenheim (General Manager), were personally committed to successful project completion. All of them were on-site repeatedly throughout the project to ensure our satisfaction. Brian Rosenheim was the day-to-day point man for our project. Brian provided us with the construction plan on Mondays outlining planned construction milestones for that respective week. He was on-site most every day to ensure required materials were available and to guarantee our satisfaction. We knew exactly what to expect, how the project should look and when we would be needed on-site for our decisions.

The work is beautiful. The entire crew was very talented, responsive, and courteous. It was very important for us to see sample stones and it was very valuable to take the time to actually go see examples laid out. Brian, our project manager, was great about answering all of our questions throughout the project. The contract was thorough and easy to read. Coordinating schedules was the biggest challenge because I wanted to be home when every milestone was reached. When we weren’t able to connect in person, we exchanged photos via email, and if anything needed to be adjusted the crew came back in a timely manner. We are very pleased with the results and get lots of compliments on our spaces. I would definitely work with Phoenix again and have already recommended them to a neighbor.

Phoenix Home Services recently completed a deck and screened-in porch for us. We are very happy with the final product and with the professionalism and responsiveness of the team throughout the process. Our old wooden deck is gone and we're looking forward to years of enjoying a maintenance-free composite (Trex) deck. When we started the process, we had some thoughts, but were not 100-percent positive of what we wanted. We talked to a number of companies - seeking ideas and estimates. Clint at Phoenix was the only one to propose stone flooring for the screened-in lower portion of the deck. We love it and are so happy we took that approach and went with Phoenix. We appreciated his vision and the work of his team. Clint and Phoenix Home Services were neither the least expensive nor the most expensive. For us, they offered the best value with the best approach to the project. To a person, the Phoenix team was an absolute pleasure to work with. They listened, cared about doing the job right, and gave us an outdoor space that we'll really enjoy for years to come. As a final bonus, the Phoenix team found and corrected a problem with our siding / windows that they were able to quickly address. If not fixed, the problem would have grown and caused long-term damage.

Phoenix built according to our specs and design considerations that had to meet town architecture and design review. On the main deck system, they built a solid support structure ~10 feet off of ground level and incorporated two landings for 18 steps to ground level. The second deck incorporates two sets of stairs for access. The deck surface and railing system was built with Trex Transcends. The construction team was dedicated to getting the job done.
Description of Work: Phoenix built a series of 3 decks, 2 of the decks were structurally joined together. They were able to work with an odd design due to setback demands.

If my wife and I can agree on one thing, it is that we are both very particular when it comes to our house. When we decided it was time to remodel our 18-year-old master bath, we knew we were treading into deep water with the anticipated cost of the project. So to make sure we chose our contractor wisely, we went overboard and interviewed and received quotes from 12 different companies. Some specialized in just bath and kitchen remodels, while others were experienced in whole house renovations and additions. In the end, we both agreed that Phoenix Home Services was at the top of our list. One of the things we really liked about Phoenix is they allowed us to select and purchase all our fixtures and materials. That meant we could shop around with anyone to get exactly what we wanted and often pay considerably less. That also allowed us to stay within our budget, yet get higher-quality materials. I will say that it is very difficult to compare quotes from different contractors, as most want you to buy certain things through them (e.g., faucets, tubs)...they give you an allowance, but you aren't really sure what the quality is until you start shopping around. Plus there seems to be a lot of vague indications as to what your allowances are for things other than the major stuff (So how much are you going to charge me for that new exhaust fan? Toilet? Heated floor?). That is one of the first things that really attracted us to Phoenix. The next was the customer service. We contacted Phoenix and Clint responded within 30 minutes to set up an in-home visit. He was able to come at 8 AM on a Saturday...perfect for us! Clint's a very friendly guy, but he also was attentive and listened to our wants. He asked questions about things we hadn't considered (even though he was the 6th company to come to our house at that point), and gave us some suggestions and ideas to consider. Within 48 hours, he emailed us professional renderings of what our new bathroom would look like. I'll note that some of the others provided renderings, but Clint's were by far the most professional ones we received. Another thing to note from our comparison of so many different contractors was the inconsistent information we received about the need for county building permits and inspections from one contractor to the next. Some said we didn't need them...others said we did...and still others said it was optional. Many wanted to add a surcharge for permits and inspections. Phoenix told us flat out they always get the permits and inspections...period. The cost was included in their overall work cost, so no add-ons. Once our decision to go with Phoenix was finalized, we began the process of purchasing our fixtures and the like. Clint even met us at the tile shop to help us with our selections. When everything arrived, the owner of Phoenix, Steve, stopped by our home to confirm that we had everything we needed. Then we set up a start date, the work began, and that's when we realized we had made the right decision. The team of Deyvies and Thomas were assigned to do the work at our home. We couldn't be happier with their professionalism and meticulous work ethic. They were so precise in everything they did. When options were available, they would ask us what we wanted. At times, we would have discussions, bounding ideas off each other as to what may look best. They made sure they knew exactly what we wanted. When someone is in your home for three plus weeks, you get to know them quite well. Deyvies and Thomas were amazing. They took such care of our home throughout the entire project. At the start, they put down protective covers on the floors from the garage door entry into our home all the way up to the third floor where the master bathroom is located. They put up a zipwall in our master bedroom, to protect it from construction dust. At the end of each work day, everything was cleaned up and put neatly away so our home didn't look like a tornado had been through it. We appreciated that. One evening, I was watching as they were driving away from our home and saw them stop the van in the middle of the street. I then saw Deyvies get out, walk into my neighbor’s front yard, and retrieve some cardboard (nothing huge, just a part of a box) that had apparently blown out of the construction dumpster in front of our house and into their yard. He didn’t need to do that. And he didn’t know anyone was even watching. Yet he picked it up and then secured it back in the dumpster. That shows a lot of respect for my neighborhood. I doubt if the neighbors saw it, but I did, and it meant a whole lot. I'll end by sharing everything they did in our project. Every bit of drywall was pretty much removed and replaced. Where it wasn't replaced, the patch work is unbelievable...I challenge anyone to find the seems! Electric fixtures were repositioned and replaced. An electric heated floor system was installed. Plumbing was relocated, a new shower was designed and installed, a freestanding tub installed, as well as a new toilet, vanity, and fixtures. Wainscoting and crown molding were installed. The floor and shower were tiled. The walls and ceiling were painted with a minimum of two coats. Essentially our bathroom was gutted and put back together. The only thing they didn't do was the shower glass and the quartz counter top, but they guided us on those parts, as well. In summary, you never want to have regrets when you spend a lot of money. And this "very particular" couple couldn't be any happier with the communication we had with Phoenix, the meticulous, precise, and responsible work performed by everyone at Phoenix, and, most-importantly, the finished product. We are already discussing next year's project to hire them again!

I called Phoenix and spoke to Clint Asmar. He was very responsive and honest with pricing. He came out the next morning and had a quote to me the same day with very detailed drawings. The price was a bit higher than I wanted but he made a very changes and got in my budget. Because of factors surrounding COVID, we decided to postpone the job. Clint was very respectful and nice about it. He was responsive via email and text with all my questions and I am disappointed in myself that we couldnt take on the project. Great company with incredible eye for design. Another contractor came back with very similar design and was cheaper but after looking at the upgrades they offered, the price ended up being a lot more.

After meeting with several contractors to obtain estimates, we chose Phoenix Home Services to build our screen porch and deck. What a fantastic decision it was. We first met Clint to walk through our options and discuss a design. The very next day he had the whole project perfectly laid out in a rendering. Clint walked us through the whole process, explained how he would take care of the necessary city and town permits and sent over a contract and detailed SOW to review. It was quite impressive how quick he responds. Due to other projects in the queue we were told our project would start within five weeks and take four weeks to complete. We were then introduced to Brian the PM who is also very knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. Brian provided a weekly schedule and checked in regularly to make sure things were ok. The construction, paint and electrical crews were efficient and polite. We felt very comfortable they knew what they were doing. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. The quality was better than what we were expecting, the price was as discussed and they were right on schedule. Hire this company!

We hired Phoenix Home Services to demolish our ancient deck and build a screened porch, and the end-to-end experience was wonderful. During the initial survey, Clint demonstrated familiarity with local county codes by identifying potential issues that other companies missed. He put together a design overnight and responded to emails and change requests faster than any human should. Their quote was right in the middle of the pack and supported by a detailed statement of work that should satisfy even the most demanding HOA. When construction started, we received weekly detailed task lists from Steve and Brian which made it easy to coordinate the few times we had to be home to support county inspections. The building team and additional contractors were always polite, efficient, and very thorough. We were always comfortable with knowing what was occurring when, and we never felt like corners were cut. The whole project was done in just two weeks (book them in the winter!) and they cleaned everything up thoroughly afterwards. We have no regrets hiring them!

We are extremely pleased with the ultimate result of our elevated, heated screened in porch designed and built by Phoenix Home Services. Although there were a few complications along the way (primarily caused by an outside supplier) the team of Steve, Brian and Clint and crew continued to be responsive, communicative and determined to make sure the final product was top notch. I highly recommend the firm and totally get the feeling they are around for the long haul in the Northern Virginia community.

This is the 3rd project we've hired Phoenix Home Services to do for us - and it won't be the last! Clint and Steve are fantastic to work with. We always feel like they're paying attention to what we want, while also making suggestions based on their years of experience. Clint listened to us through the whole process of creating the initial design and 3D rendering. He did add his thoughts and ideas, but was never pushy, and we're very glad we implemented the ones we did. Clint and Steve kept the lines of communication open and we always knew what was going to happen and when. Apart from the initial project walk through, Steve did an additional walk through for each major parts of the project (wet bar; new stair rails; custom bookcase; and where the new lighting would go). We appreciated these extra measures to make sure we were all on the same page and that we would be happy with the finished product. The basement of our split-foyer house was divided into too many rooms so we wanted to open up the space and add a wet bar. We also had the ceilings replaced and recessed lighting put in. Deyvies is an incredible craftsman, and did a fantastic job with the woodworking, electrical, and plumbing. When they took down the walls, they discovered that the builders had skimped on wall structure and there was no insulation. Deyvies and his crew took the time to frame and insulate the walls properly. We decided on an L-shaped wet bar with a lighter stain for the top and a cherry stain for the base. It's gorgeous and we get so many compliments on it. There wasn't much space for cabinets behind the bar, so Deyvies came up with a great solution of narrower shelving to hold glasses and bottles. It looks so much better than we could have imagined. The custom built bookcase is the highlight of our downstairs reading room on the other side of the basement. After they started the work, we decided to add three windows. Steve quickly scoped out the cost and factored the installation into the plan. We started the project on the first of October of 2019, and it was finished a few weeks before Thanksgiving. What we love about working with Clint, Steve, and the Phoenix Home Services team is their high quality of work, attention to detail, responsiveness, and overall knowledge and experience. They turned a very utilitarian and cold basement into a warm and inviting family room that we love to hang out in.
Description of Work: We needed a complete remodel of the basement in our split-foyer house.

When Clint and I first met to discuss my vague idea for a project, the thing that struck me was that he listened, and he listened hard. I wasn’t sure of exactly what I was trying to do, so he asked questions and we developed the project together. Being able to see a 3D rendering was very important, because it allowed us to specifically change the vision. From beginning to end, he and his amazing team of professionals kept me informed of what was next and what to expect. There were several city permit/approval hurdles that needed to be overcome, and it was painless for me, since Phoenix managed it all. Steve was an invaluable leader, and is one of the most sensitive, thoughtful, resourceful, and cooperative people I have ever met. The entire team of owners and workers were friendly, respectful, and cognizant of the disruption that the project posed in my day-to-day life. At every stage of the project I was asked if I was happy. At first I wasn’t sure if it was just small talk, but my happiness with the project became the overriding goal of all the effort being made by each of the team. The other thing that I think sets Phoenix apart is the respect that each individual has for each other. They all appreciate each other’s expertise and rely on each other’s opinion without hesitation. The space on my property, which was to contain the project, was extremely limited and held several challenges for the team, but they confronted each with a positive, can-do attitude, which I found inspiring. They did their best to save my landscaping, and cleaned up afterwards better than I could ever have expected. I would highly recommend Phoenix for any home improvement project, and I have already scheduled another project for the spring; this, after having added another project that coincided with the completion of the original plan. I have not had a lot of experience with home improvement teams, but I feel fairly certain that I would be hard-pressed to find another group of such fine professionals.
