I would definitely recommend Phoenix Home Services - some other contractors that I contacted did not even return my call. Clint always responded promptly and it was a pleasure doing business with Phoenix.
Description of Work: I am in the process of finishing my basement, and called Phoenix Home Services for an egress window estimate. Clint Asmar was very responsive and walked me through the each step of the process. He quickly sent me a detailed estimate, references, and the company's license information. After reviewing the contract, I hired them to perform the project. Phoenix handled pulling the permit and arranging for the county inspection, and our family is now enjoying the new window!

Phoenix responded to my inquiry for chimney cleaning service promptly. They arrived on time and prepared. One person got up on the roof to inspect the exterior of the chimney, while Donny, the owner, inspected the inside. He first laid down a coverall so as to prevent getting soot on the floor. Donny determined that the chimney did not need cleaning and charged only for the inspection. He found a chunk of mortar in the flue that had been left there when the chimney was repaired ten years ago. He removed the mortar and cleaned the entire firebox of soot and debris. He cleaned up afterwards and left the house as clean as when he arrived. He was personable, professional, and honest. I would use Phoenix again and recommend them without reservation.
Description of Work: Chimney exterior and interior inspected. Firebox vacuumed and debris removed from flue.

They were amazing. They worked around our schedule. They were very knowledgeable about the stone. Their design was very functional. They paid attention to the little details. They took pride in their work. We even added more drains to the job because the work was so good. They made my backyard liveable. They were trustworthy. They offered high quality service. They were always exactly on time. I have handed out several of their cards to others.
Description of Work: They built a fireplace pit. They also did laid drains across the backyard.
Phoenix home services thank you for helping make my home very beautiful. I have so many neighbors come by just to see the excellent workmanship, envy of the neighborhood. In fact we tell them that it was easy and painless to actually sit down with the designer (Clint Asmar) of Phoenix home services and express what we wanted and made it possible. Clint Asmar of Phoenix home services was very polite and professional and I would recommend Phoenix home services to anyone wanting to remodel or have any masonry needs. great work and thank you Chris and Samaria Braman
Description of Work: Clint Asmar, was the sales and designer for Phoenix home services. He came to our home to discuss what we wanted to have remodeled, and show us some of the material that was available with lots of examples of work they had done in the past. We gave clint an Idea of what we wanted to have done to the front of our home, and he shot more ideas that complemented our own thoughts and was able to give a price down to the penny of what the work would cost. Four days later he sent an email with a three D image of what our Ideas would actual look like. We really liked what he was showing us for our remodel. We signed the contract and the work started within two weeks as we agreed upon. Clint showed up the first day of the job and continued to stay in close contact making sure we were very happy each step of the way. Phoenix home services built a long plant that wrapped around the front of the house, put in a french drain behind the wall and covered the entire way with Pennsylvania blue stone. In addition they built a walk way from the drive way up to the house with a rounded design of three stairs. Clint made sure that the foreman new what color we wanted matched with the stone we had picked out. If I found an error or a stone I didn't like they fixed with out any problems. Also when the crew came and ripped up the front at the beginning of the job I was concerned about the grass and rock shards. Clint assured me not to worry. at the end of the job a crew came out and hand picked through the grass to make sure no rocks, cement,or material was left. I was impressed when they laid down top soil and grass seed at no additional charge, just to make sure it looked perfect. I also had Phoenix home services install and replace a EGRESS window in my basement. I was surprised how quick and professional it went in. The window quality was better than I expected. No inconvenience at all and finished ahead of schedule.
Upon our first request, a representative came to our home to discuss our ideas and possibilities for a patio in our backyard. Clint was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We had done many months of research into what we wanted in regards to design and materials. Clint helped us make our final decision on design and confirmed that they would be able to acquire the specific materials we were requesting. He responded quickly with an estimate and preliminary rough drafts of the design. We met the project foreman, Victor, a week or so before they broke ground and went over all the details of the project with him. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his communications with us, as well as with his supervision of the crew. When the crew began, they were all extremely professional and hard working. They were at the house no later than 8:30am every morning and worked well into dark every evening. We were most impressed with the care they took with every stage of the project. First with acquiring all the proper permits and inspections, excavation of the area, digging down to load bearing soil for the stairs by hand, installing the footers for the stairs, pouring the cement for the base of the patio and stairs, then laying the stone and flagstone. They didn't harm the lawn by bringing in large machinery. We requested a specific look to the stone walls and flagstone pattern for the patio and horizontal surfaces of the stairs. They exceeded our expectations in accomplishing our request, choosing the stone specifically to meet our requests for color and type, hand shaping stones that could not or should not be cut with the stone saw, taking great care in leveling every inch of the patio and stairs, and even rounding off corners of any hard edges on the stairs and seating walls. They even worked through snow when it snowed unexpectedly. They worked cleanly, covering up the patio at night to protect it until it was complete, neatly organized their tools at the end of the day, and cleared the lawn of any stray piece of stone. The patio, stairs, seating walls, and fireplace are all impressive and beautiful. We couldn't be more pleased with this company, their skill and professionalism sets the bar. We would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Installed a flagstone and stone patio with stairs, seating walls and fireplace.
This is our second experience with Phoenix Home Services. Phoenix's performance continues to be excellent. They provide high quality, on time service and the project managers make excellent suggestions, the carpenters are highly skilled professionals, and the sales people understand exactly what the client needs. I highly recommend Phoenix Home Services and would use them again.

I called Phoenix and got voice mail. I left a message. I waited two weeks and tried again. I reached the mason directly on this try, but seemed a little annoyed that I had interrupted his day - I had reached him on his mobile phone, which is the number that is published on the website. He had me call another number to schedule an appointment. I called that number and set the appointment for a day or two later. On the day of the appointment, at the appointed time, not before, he called to say he couldn't make it because he had to attend some sort of conference and rescheduled me for later in the week. Well, that day came and he was a no-show again. However, he did send someone in his place. This person didn't seem to know much about the masonry process, he didn't take any measurements, and couldn't give me a price quote on site (all other companies contacted did all of these things). I eventually received the estimate and it was well above the other estimates that I had already received. This company did not get my business.
Description of Work: I contacted Phoenix to reset some bricks under one sliding glass door and a set of windows on one side of my home; repair a minor crack, caused by the recent earthquake, and replace a missing brick on the garage.

(Member), my most sincerest apologies for your complaint. Are you sure you've reached the right company? The number on the website is an office land line with thorough answering services. There are several Phoenix companies out there, many off which try to gain recognition using our name. There is one located in Manassas call Phoenix Services LLC. We're Phoenix Home Services Inc and have been around for quite some time. I don't have your number in our database or any of your information. I've searched everywhere for it as well. If there is anything you could do to verify it was us, that would be great, if not, could you please remove this complaint, as it shouldn't be associated with our company.
I was really impressed. They did a really good job, especially on my patio. The team was very efficient and professional. I would recommend them to anyone. They were excellent.

I had a leak in my basement. Phoenix exceeded my expectations by not only repairing what I thought needed repairing but also doing things that I didnt even think of to keep water out in the future; drylocking the walls and caulking the window where water came through. Both projects went extremely well. The crews started on time and worked steadily and efficiently until the project was complete. The workmen were meticulous and professional, which I value. In each case the project manager was responsive to questions and requests for correction. I am very happy with the results of both projects and get compliments from neighbors. I will contact them again for any other applicable projects I have.

They did an outstanding job both inside and outside. Clint Asmar was our first contact with the company. He came out to our house, talked with my husband and I about the job. We felt very confident in him and the company. The video that the company has on line showing an egress install gave us confidence that this company knew how to tackle this job. Jose Abrego, the project manager was also very helpful along with the men who did the work. The workman were very professional and polite. We were also inpressed with the way they cleaned up the job site each day. We are very happy with Phoenix Home Services and would highly recommend them.

No work was performed for this potential client. He was emailed the night before the appointment was made apologizing for having to reschedule. We've had a lot of rain. Appointments get backed up all the time due to inclement weather. He was also contacted the same day, but there was no answer, and then contacted again after he expressed his concern calling back on the company line, but again, didn't answer. Phoenix has never intentionally missed an appointment, and if those cases do arise, the client is always contacted before hand. It's the nature of the business. When thousands of appointment's are scheduled per year, the weather and our traffic can some times make it difficult to show up on time to every single appointment, but the client is always notified. He later confirmed the email was in fact sent to him, but said it went in spam, and also didn't respond to two phone calls with messages. Again, no work was performed for this client, he was contacted and unforeseen circumstances happen. We've received enough rain the past two weeks to have every company scrambling to protect current installations. No work was performed, no dollar amount was signed, and arbitrarily throwing a dollar sign out there on what you lost that day at work isn't fair to Phoenix or any member on Angieslist.Com. This is a network that enables people to find a professional company that can install a beautiful project for them at a reasonable price. A net work where people can depend on for finding out the truth about a company. A net work primarily instituted for services rendered. Again, Phoenix apologizes for any inconvenience you thought might have occurred.

We had met with three contractors prior to our meeting with Clint Asmar from Phoenix. We called Phoenix based on a recommendation from a friend who used them for her patio. As Mr. Asmar will attest, we started out with only rebuilding the deck and kept expanding the project. He was always so responsive when we called with an addition to the project. It was great to work with a company that can do both decks and patios. The new french door had to be special ordered and we are delighted with it. We were very pleased with the whole experience. Both the deck crew and the patio crew worked extremely hard. The foreman of each crew (Xavier and Jose) were very easy to work with . Sitting out on our deck is as good as being on vacation. It is so restful. The deck and patio are designed to go with the natural beauty of our wooded backyard.
Description of Work: Phoenix replaced our aging wooden deck and stairs with a beautiful expanded deck made of composite decking material. The deck runs the length of the house. They installed a new French door to the deck where a decrepit greenhouse window used to be. In addition, they built a gorgeous flagstone patio underneath the deck with a retaining wall and planter. A portion of the area under the deck was covered in river rock. They put in flagstone steps from the garage to the patio and from the patio to the backyard.

After much thought, My wife and I decided to have a screened in porch built to supplement the house from the ground up. We looked through and met with several local consultants and finally settled on Phoenix Mason. Before I go on, please note that before every home renovation project me and my family have done, we find the best people for the job through research. After contacting Phoenix Mason, we met with a design consultant by the name of Clint. He was a very polite gentleman and worked with me. He provided detailed designs and proposals along with a price that was within my budget. He made the entire design process a sinch! We settled on a 1000 sq ft Screened in porch complete with lighting and a ceiling fan (Fiberon Deck!). We went through the contract and the project started! Workers arrived three days after the initial meet up. They arrived at 8am and left at around 8pm. They were very amiable and hard working. The entire project roughly took two and a half weeks. I had my reservations at one point but I'm very happy with the project! The quality of work is very high! Phoenix Mason really delivered.
Description of Work: They performed a variety of services, each a walk in the park and very detailed. The design consultant worked with us to draw up an excellent detailed design complete with cement foundation, stairs, the deck, and roofing. A fiberon deck was built with a screened in porch. Included was all the work needed to supply electricity for the lights and the ceiling fan.

Let me start out by saying that Phoenix is, bar-none, the best construction company I have ever worked with. I've had several small projects done to my home, from basement and bathroom remodeling to siding replacement. Having nothing but good experiences, I wasn't doing much homework for this project and met with two contractors before Phoenix. However, I started to get cold feet when weighing cost against the quality of patio I was beginning to visualize after meeting with these contractors. A friend of mine recommended me to Phoenix after hearing I was having reservations. A day later, I spoke to their designer, Clint and had an appointment scheduled with him only two days later. Seeing him pull in front of my house five minutes early already made me feel excited again about this project. Clint walked into my house and got straight to the point. He asked me numerous questions about what we wanted out of our patio. Clint's professionalism and knowledge of masonry work is unparalleled. He sat down with me and not only educated me on all of the different types of patio stone, but sketched out several different designs right there with me. I was all of a sudden becoming more and more passionate about this project again. Sensing my previous reservations, Clint thought it would help to provide me with some digitally rendered concepts of what our patio could look like and after seeing three different options I was ready to move forward. We began to talk pricing and Phoenix was right on the mark, tailoring the scope of the project to my budget while offering the best possible materials and services. We came to an agreement and work was started, as scheduled, only two weeks later. Phoenix's craftsmen were phenomenal! They showed up promptly every morning at 8am and worked vigorously until sunset. They were all very professional, kind, personable, and always accommodated me as I moved through their workspace or curiously hovered over their shoulders. I witnessed their precision and creativity as they strategically laid every Travertine block and it put quite the smile on my face to see it come together. A week later, the project was complete and I couldn't have been happier. The patio is now my favorite feature of the house, especially in Fall and Winter thanks to the beautiful fire-pit! I have thanked my friend countless times for his recommendation and have done the same for a few friends and co-workers who have already started work with Phoenix. I would recommend them a thousand times over and am already considering them for a Flagstone porch, for which Clint has already provided digital renderings.
Description of Work: Travertine Stone back patio with two rounded steps, marble trim, one foot corner columns and fire-pit installation; all sealed for all-weather proofing.

It was such a great experience dealing with them and their team. Initially, I had got 3 estimates from other companies all of which were trying to charge me an arm and a leg to to finish my basement. Low and behold, I scheduled an estimate from Phoenix and by the next day Clint came over to my home, took measurements. The day after that, Clint got back to me with pricing, measurements, designs and pictures of samples. After everything was said about 2 weeks later, they came out and they would work from 8am-8pm! Talk about dedication, they got my basement done in three weeks, but It was almost like they weren't even there. The only thing I had to complain about is that I hadn't talked to Clint before wasting my time getting ridiculous estimates by people less credible.

There is not a whole lot to tell since the whole event was painless. Glen came to do the estimate, he called Joaquin (the foreman) while he was still at the house and Joaquin stopped by and agreed that he could do what I wanted. They showed up when they said they would, and they were done when they predicted. End of story. It was easy to deal with Glen and the Guatemalan crew who came to do the work were obviously master masons, epecially the foreman.
Description of Work: Phoenix Services did a brick walkway and a small stone one in the front and sides of our house. The brick walk had to be in an s-shape and the area had to be leveled. The crew did a magnificent job! The walkway is now 8 years old and it still looks great. It added to the "curb-appeal" of the house.

I needed an egress window installed as quickly as possible. The first company that offered did not seem to know enough about it. Phoenix came in with complete confidence, having installed many of these. I gave them a short time frame and they accepted the challenge and performed it with flying colors. Clint Asmar was very efficient, direct, and knowledgeble about every aspect of the project. All of the other staff were knowledgeable, experienced, and efficient. Jose was also very reliable and helpful. They started and finished when they said they would. They managed the timing of each work team perfectly. They always showed up early and left late. Each worker knew exactly what their job was and performed it well. They were respectful of us and our neighbors the entire time. Any concern I had was address immediately. They handled all permits and inspections. The egress is attractive and sturdy. Not a prefab, but built to last, from the ground up. I think the price was fair considering the quality of the work, and the service matched it. I would highly recommend Phoenix Home Services for any home building project.

I decided to build a patio and Pheonix was one of the companies recommended. Clint Asmar discussed the options for the size and what we wanted in the patio. I trusted his judgement and he assured me that there would be good quality material and workmanship. He was true to his word. The patio actually exceeded expectations, and the quality of workmanship and material was outstanding. The craftsman were very good to work with, and when we needed to discuss anything with Clint, he was available. I would have no hesitation in recommending, or working with, Phoenix Home Services again or with any of the employees, especially Clint. In fact, I am seriously thinking of expanding the patio under my deck, because we spend more time relaxing on the patio than we do on the deck.
Description of Work: A patio was build from my rear basement exit to my back yard with red, blue and tan flagstone. The corners of the patio were rounded and the edge of the patio was brought to a ground-level trek deck very neatly under the second story deck. The finished edge of the patio also included rock edge to add a nice dimension from the lawn perspective. From the deck level above, the patio is balanced and looks very nice from above. The stone is high quality and even. The workmanship is very good.

We were extremely happy and impressed with the quality of the work. Our patio, stairs, and walkways are beautiful! Our overall experience was great. Unlike other contractors, there were no hidden costs with Phoenix. The sales associate (Clint Asmar) was a pleasure to work with. His knowledge and expertise made the process easy. He was willing to meet in the evenings (several times), was very responsive, was able to provide the detail that we were seeking in terms of project costs/requirements during our meetings, and knew exactly what we were looking for. In addition, the craftmanship far exceeded the price of the project. Phoenix was very responsive, accommodating, walked us through the process, and was pleasant to work with from start to finish. We highly recommend Phoenix if you are considering a flagstone patio, walkways, stone stairs, or a fireplace.

They were very good with the workmanship. They were prompt in completing the project. They gave a date and time and they worked on it. The downside was just the salesman aspect. They had rushed into the project and the project was almost way different than what I had thought that we had talked about. We were rushed because we thought this was the best time to do it and this was the way to save money and we also thought if we start it soon, we can get it done quickly. Luckily I reviewed it the day before I started and I told them that they had got it wrong. They seemed a little irritated and also with the fact that I was calling them to say that they are wrong. After many calls and basically telling them what to do, they finally agreed to do exactly what I told them to do. This is what I had told them in the beginning. Anyway it ended up working out well. They took care of everything. Their workmanship and craftsmanship was good. I didn’t like the rapid sales guy that was here. He had a rapid approach. He was very pushy about getting things done without really sitting down and in detail reviewing the plan and draw one up. He didn’t listen up to the details I told him. They were pretty responsive. I would use their services again in the future.

Phoenix Home Services Inc Company came to my home to give me the quote; it was more than $10000. The person who came out seemed very knowledgeable and very professional. He had some drawings done up on the work, either that evening or next morning. He was here on time. I would contact them in the future.
Description of Work: I contacted Phoenix Home Services Inc Company for some masonry work. They gave me a quote about two weeks ago.

I had been dealing with the Phoenix VP for business, Mr. Clint Asmar, for approximately 30 days on a project at my home that would have included masonry and landscaping work totaling $30,000 - $40,000. His actions to date included two computer generated diagrams of the proposed work, one estimate with two revisions, and one site visit. As a result of some changing financial priorities I decided to delay the project a couple of months and stated so to Mr. Asmar (text to follow): "Clint, We have assessed the sequencing of our projects and have decided to hold off on those external to the house for now. Accordingly, we do not want to meet with you this week. We like your ideas and will get in touch with you later in the spring/summer; we fully realize the estimate you have provided will not be valid at that time. Thanks". I received the following response from Mr. Asmar (text to follow): "David, I did all of your paperwork, did your contract, scheduled you up for tomorrow, and now you're canceling out meeting? Is this how you treat everyone who works their tail off for you, essentially leading to a bunch of lost work and countless hours on my part? We don't do business that way. When we give you our word on a project from start to finish, we fulfill everything. With that said, Phoenix withdraws any recent or future proposals. I wish you would have told me this from the get-go, so I wouldn't have spent countless hours on your design, revised design and proposals. Good luck in your search for another contractor to remedy the outside of your home in the future. Best, Clint Asmar". I believe Mr. Asmar's response was not only inappropriate, but also quite alarming. Although I had intended to work with Phoenix later this year, I have no intention of doing so now....or ever...beware!

Very knowledgeable about waterproofing, masonry and construction. Workers were trustworthy and worked very hard. Skilled masonry workers gave us the beautiful travertine and marble bathroom we've always wanted, and made sure it was exactly to our specifications. Glen constantly checked in with us to ensure that the project was running smoothly and always took care of minor issues promptly and accurately. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new patio, walkway, bathroom or basement remodel, fence or waterproofing contractor.
