Description of Work: What a gem this place is! I had a traditional table lamp that I just loved, and one day, while not turned on, it began to sizzle. Being slow to action, I made do for about a month before taking it in to be reapired. Unfortunately , the day I decided to do it was Memorial Day Monday. I had no idea if Lamp and Lighting Gallery would be open, but took a chance, sincs I would be in the area. The place is at the end of a strip mall at Fairfax Circle, and looked like any other small appliance business. The gentleman who helped me was seemed pleasant enough when I walked in. By 2 minutes into our conversation, he had guessed what the problem was, and said he could call me when he had an estimate. Great. I then asked about a Kovacs wall reading lamp I had seen on line, and he showed me what they had in stock and also went through the catalogs with me. Although I loved them, I couldn't justify their cost with my budget. He immediately showed me a (non-Kovacs) lamp they had in stock and ON SALE. Very reasonable, just what I was looking for. He also told me they could wire it as a plug in (which I needed) for $15.00. SOLD. I went on my way to hit the sales at Tysons, and he called back within the hour with my lamp repair estimate. Go for it. THEN he said to stop by if I wanted to in an hour to pick it and the wall lamp up! When I went to pick up the 2 pieces, he "showed" me how to attach the wall mount by doing all the steps for me there at the store. He sold or gave me everything I needed to just go home and plug in my new lights. ( No getting home to find I needed a special bulb, etc.) I am amazed that this kind of service still exists today! I was more than satisfied, and will shop there for anything I need in the way of lamps, shades, etc. A note if anyone has a favorite vase, basket, pot, etc. They make lamps out of anything. The shade selection looked pretty good, although I didn't go through any of them this time. Some unique finials, too.
