We have Virginia class B license for projects up to $120,000, but will do virtually any project or repair inside you home. We do have a $175 minimum house call fee that includes the first hour of work. After that it is $75 per hour fee for smaller projects. Larger projects are based on a lower hourly rate which is included in the over all project estimate. The cost is generally determined by the job but some areas such as exterior carpentry may be billed hourly due to the unpredictable nature of the work. We may find more work up close or underneath visibly damaged areas. All employees speak English well. We are also able to communicate in Spanish, Cechua or Italian (just in case). We are covered by general liability insurance, disability insurance, workers comp, and heath insurance. I treat my employees and my customers, in the same manner I wish to be treated myself. We have been Angies list supper service award winners for the past 11 years. We care about our workmanship and our customers and I think that is reflected in our awards. A tip is not necessary. If you feel that a handyman did a great job for you, the best thing you can do for them is boost their reputation by leaving reviews on as many sites as possible and spreading by word of mouth how good they are. A tip is temporary but a reputation creates a business!

Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Being certified and/or licensed typically provides the customer with a level of comfort when hiring a handyman, but is not always a guarantee of quality work. Be aware that not every state requires or even provides a license for a handyman. Many handymen will not or cannot be licensed. If you want a general contractor, hire one (they will be licensed and bonded/insured). Understand what you usually get when you hire a handyman and it is NOT a general contractor.
