Rick the plumber was on time and quickly evaluated the condition of the toilet, identified the problem, replaced the worn parts and completed the work efficiently, cleaning around the toilet. All done in a business like and very pleasant manner.

Rick was on time he worked quickly and also reattached a hose for our garbage disposal. Was not bothered by our dog.

Hooks was on time and very capable. They removed the old toilet from the house and explained in detail how the new power flush toilet worked and how to maintain it.

Rick came out right on schedule and had my sink fixed quickly. He also advised me on how to keep the problem from happening again. Next was the dishwasher (which was installed by another company) and had become "uninstalled". We have a granite counter top and it appears the original installation was with super glue. He secured it correctly using the original manuels. Great job, quick and personable. They are now my "go to" plumbing company.

At 6 pm, we noticed water in the floor of the mechanical room in our basement, while cycling, through laundry and quickly surmised the main home line was clogged. Not usually a 24/7 company, we called F.J. Hooks anyway and got through. They sent a technician within the hour to snake the drain. The technician, Jesus was professional and courteous. He took the time to place protective covering on his shoes and helped us strategically place towels in case an emergency occurred. It did not. We were very placed with the service.

The Hook"s Team arrived in on time and were polite. The team leader identified himself and asked questions concerning the layout of our home. The team accomplished the complete re-pipe of our home in CPVC in a neat and professional manner. The leader consulted with my wall board person on all holes made to ensure they were minimal for effective repair. The pipe runs were accomplished in a visually straight manner and the joints were glued carefully. In the afternoon, additional team members and the owner came by to check on the job to ensure that all was working well. I was very impressed with the diliengence of both the owner, leader and staff in ensure that they checked and re-checked each item to ensure my satisfaction with the job. They are a company dedicated to quality, excellence and a personal touch with their customer.

Excellent experience. Mr Hook was able to diagnose the water leak problem and fix it. We have used them for over 15 years for all our plumbing installation and repair, and have always been pleased with them. We trust their work and really know what they are doing. And they are very pleasant to deal with.

I contracted Hooks Plumbing to install a sewage extraction pump in my basement to support a new bathroom w/ shower. They were very responsive and got a guy out to look at the job and I had a written estimate in a couple of days. Unlike a lot of contractors, their estimate included all the permits, etc. When we gave them the go ahead to start, they had a crew out to the house in just a couple of days. They had the floor cut out and the pump installed and ready for inspection in one day! They did an amazing job. When they came out to do the work, I had changed the location of where I wanted the pump and as it worked out, the new location made it easier to run the output line from the pump and their guy found a much more direct way to connect the venting than had been previously planned. All in all those couple of changes made the job a little easier than first anticipated. The pleasant surprise for me was that those changes were reflected in my bill which was abt $800 less than the original estimate.

Rick was on time, friendly, efficient and did an excellent job. I could not have asked for more.

Hooks plumbing was highly recommended by a general contractor who I met on an unrelated matter. Hooks is a family run business and I dealt with Braidy Hooks, the son. He came to see my bathroom remodeling project the day after I called and was 15 Min early despite the fact that he had two calls before me. I talked to three plumbers and Braidy knew exactly how to tackle the job. He also quoted a reasonable price far under what the other two estimates came in at. Braidy brought in a crew of three guys on the specified day and they went to work on the project. They knew what they were doing and everything went smoothly. There was one problem: one of the new pipes conflicted with the electrical plan. Braidy was very responsive and offered to send someone over and move the pipe and make it right, but I was able to re route the electrical. He also answered all of my stupid questions cheerfully and knowledgeably.

Left a huge hole in the ceiling, was wrong in the analysis, and when the designer didn't pay him as a result, he got a mafioso collection agency after ME! and this after working for the designer for years. Who needs this? Call John Haynes at Haynes Plumbing-- he gets my raves and angies

They are top shelf. I pay about $100 each time. I think I pay a little extra but they send knowledgeable people and they are on time. You can't beat their service. They are professionals. I would recommend them for remodeling. Seven years ago they did plumbing work on a big addition and they did a great job. They do both big and little things. I would use them again and I have recommended them. I recently got an estimate from them.

They were recommended to me by my neighbors. They aren't cheap but not the most expensive. They are very straight forward with you and honest. They are reliable and all the work passed inspection. The work is completed in a timely manner. The only bad thing is since it is a family business you may have to wait if it is not an emergency.

However it took them awhile to finally email me the actual estimate (which, I must admit, was a plus as most plumbers that came gave only verbal estimates). I emailed back to say I wanted to accept their proposal. No reply. I had to email and call them several times before I got a response. Once I did, I was told the work could be scheduled two weeks out. Fine. Well, a good week out, I emailed them about the permit. They said according to their proposal I was to obtain one. Not a problem. I emailed back asking for copies of (a) his valid VA State Contractor License and (b) his valid Fairfax County Business Professional & Occupational License (BPOL) from the Dept. of Tax Administration. My goal was to apply for and receive permits, while still having F J Hooks appear on the record of my permit. In other words, I would get a permit in FJ Hooks name, not mine. If the permit is in my name, and the work does not pass inspection, F J Hooks would be literally "off the hook." Well days passed and I had to email them again about the permit. I was finally told that I would not be given that documentation. I asked if they even had it, and was promptly told "We are no longer interested in doing the plumbing for the bar at your home. There for our appointment with you for May 19, 2010 is canceled." Ain't that a trip! Totally unprofessional! Appearantly they did not want me to get the permit in their name. Talk about red flags! The people at the Fairfax County DPWES-LDS Permits Branch told me to NEVER do business with a contractor who is unwilling to get permits in their name.
