Chas showed up at 9 am as we discussed. After taking measurements and giving us some ideas and feed back, they came up with a design that was very nice and under the budgeted price. He and his team were very courteous and understanding of our requests. They kept everything at a professional standard.

We noticed that we had a leak in our master bedroom. We called Colonial Remodeling and Chas came out to help figure out the leak was coming from. Low and behold our roof was a mess. Lots of rotton shingles and there were holes underneath since the builders never installed the shingles correctly. With Chas' help we were able to get our roof replacement done through our insurance. We only has to pay the deductible. We were also super fortunate that we were able to take advantage of the nice weather in December and we had a new roof before the blizzard came in January. Chas was incredibly knowledgeable and his crew were on time, professional and super clean.

These people were great. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality work. They showed up on time and were very professional. Very reasonably priced as well. Answered all of my questions and were extremely helpful.

Colonial did an excellent job! I am so pleased with the James Hardie siding and trim on my home. Chas was so friendly and helpful throughout the entire process, and the crew finished the job in a timely manner. I feel the price was more than fair as well. No complaints here. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Absolutely stunning transformation in both look and color. The previous cedar siding had severe and ongoing woodpecker damage. The James Hardie siding replacement totally eliminated the woodpecker problem while giving our home an updated "new look." Michael Shannon, project manager for Colonial Remodeling, is a true professional with respect to product knowledge, work detail, and customer relationships. He provided us with excellent design insight to move forward with this project. His work team was courteous, dedicated, efficient and hard-working. The entire Colonial team treated our property as if it were their home. The end product was a work of precision, in terms of both fit and finish. We are 100% satisfied with Colonial Remodeling and would highly recommend this company.

Colonial Remodeling designed and built a beautiful portico, with suspended light and rounded bead board interior, on the front of our home. My husband and I had wanted a portico for years, however the design of our house is unusual, and not entirely symmetrical, so we have never been able to see one on other homes that we thought would look good on our house. A few years ago we had another contractor come out and he told us it was a difficult project but he would send some sample designs; however he never did so or follow up. We came across Colonial Remodeling at a Home & Garden Show. Representative Chas Kulbok promptly scheduled a time convenient for us to come to our home. He provided lots of pictures of other work they had done in the area and he immediately had ideas as to what might work. Designer Christie Forbrich then met with us, at our convenience, took lots of pictures and measurements, and then produced several designs for our consideration. The designs took into account and complemented the various roof angles, dimensions, materials, and design of our house and entryway and the preferences we had expressed. Colonial then took care of all of the permitting, brought the construction project manager out to meet and discuss the project with us, ensuring we all clearly understood the specifications, and then began the project. My husband observed much of the construction and was impressed with the care and craftsmanship exhibited. The end result is absolutely beautiful. The front of the house was rather bland before; the portico really adds character and design flair ("curb appeal"). The suspended light gives it a dramatic, striking appearance at night. We have had many people comment on how beautiful it is, including people who regularly walk or jog past our home, who have stopped when they have seen me or my husband to tell us how nice it looks, and how much it adds to the design of our home. The overall price was more than the original "ballpark" price we were given, however that was due to design choices we made and Colonial was upfront with the prices for the options and upgrades when we reviewed and signed the contract. We would definitely recommend Colonial Remodeling to others.

Chas from sales and Mike (project manager) were very professional. All of the work was done meticulously and in a timely fashion. Both were very responsive when we had questions. They started the project on time despite a blizzard and finished on time despite another significant snow. We are very pleased with the quality and price.

Initial contact was terrific. Met with Mike who was professional and knowledgeable. He handled all the contact with the insurance company, helped me through the complicated way the insurance company pays for these repairs, was always available by phone, etc. The men who did the work were also professional, did a fabulous job, left no debris or any cleanup for me to do afterwards and were very careful to protect our house during the work. I would use them again for anything I ever needed done. Kudos to Colonial Remodeling.

Professional, responsible, and efficient. We had one small issue with a roof vent that looked funny after they were done and they came back and fixed it. I felt like they were serious about the "100% satisfaction" thing!

With extremely professional, organized and prepared crews, all work performed went smoothly with excellent results. The team was willing to field questions and accommodate some special (sometimes last minute) requests. The very few issues that did arise were handled quickly and to my satisfaction. Given the high-quality results, in conjunction with a knowledgeable team that is easy to work with, I would definitely use Colonial Remodeling in the future.

The process was very good with only a few hiccups. Colonial was very good in presenting their experience with Hardi, their pricing was competitive and their daily crew chief was very conscientious. The final product was very good and it looks great.

The project went very smoothly. Jon met us at our home to review and price the project, then made a second visit to execute the contract and confirm all details. The project schedule was managed very well and we were always kept up to date on the latest information. The crew performed efficient and high quality work. I could always reach the project manager to go over details of the job and have my questions answered. Very professional. Would recommend to others and would use again myself.

Colonial Remodeling installed a front door portico and railing system on our residence. What was suppose to be a three week project actually took over two years. It was completed in December 2014. Have very detailed listing and many pictures which can be provided. Work was poorly done by a sub-contractor (Morales Masonery) which was not qualified to do some of the work. The wood frame work was botched (sticking off of the cement porch area by 2-3 inches) and required major remake. The barrel ceiling required three remakes (wrong wood used, stained incorrectly, chipped installation). This was never corrected to our complete satisfaction. Electrical work initially failed the Fairfax inspection and was redone after we allowed some inside work. The metal railing requested was aluminum and steel was initially delivered. Several reorders required with long delays due to shipment from the orient. Workers botched cutting the railings to size and tried to jury rig with caulking etc. Parts (top trim, brackets, railing posts etc.) again had to be ordered with added delays. Very poorly done metal work (cutting short, uneven, wrong location etc). Never really satisfied with results. Poor painting and staining. We provided the sub-contractor with pictures of a honey oak type stain from another Colonial project and ended up with a mahoganey type stain. Attempts to correct this failed and was never corrected. Workers did not put down drop cloths and splattered paint/stain on the concrete porch. The list goes on and on. Costs were high for poor quality work and no compensation was offered. The Senior Project Manager did not take us to their supplier to pick out items. I was taken to a supplier by the sub-contractor to select the type of wood for the barrel ceiling. This was after the botched first attempt with the wrong wood. The delays during the construction phase were not slight but extended. We would not recommend this company to anyone.

Very high quality work. The job started when scheduled and was completed on schedule. The final work exceeded my expectations. My wife and I are very happy with the final result. Furthermore, Colonial went the extra mile from start to finish with my project. They stand by their work and make sure that you are completely satisfied. I highly recommend Colonial and I would use them for my next home improvement project. [Please note, my cost estimate did not include the cost of building materials.]

From start to finish we could not have been more pleased with our experience with Colonial. When Michael came out for the initial estimate he took a lot of time to explain every detail of how the project would be handled and was very responsive to all of our questions throughout the process. During the job he was in regular contact with me to ensure the project was proceeding according to plan. The staff onsite during the project were also always professional. The entire job was completed in less than a month and the workmanship was excellent. Colonial was highly knowledgeable about all of the products they were installing and did a superior job. They had the most competitive of several estimates we solicited and offered us the best solution for our exterior remodeling needs. I would highly recommend Colonial for any exterior remodeling job. They took great pride in their work and ensured that the finished product looked beautiful.

It turned out great. They were just very nice. They did what they said they were gonna do. There were no dislikes. They were really good. The price was fine. It was fair.

It was great. I spent about $8000. I think the cost was competitive and fair. We like their price, their project manager and they were fast and the work the did turned out great. My interactions with them was fantastic.

Mr. Shannon drove up to the front of the house, proceeded to go through the back of his vehicle looking for some things he wanted to be able to estimate the cost of the work. He did not greet me first, but commented something about children moving things in the car. He finally gave up and came up the front sidewalk where I had been standing. He looked around the outside, asked about siding, trim, etc. but commented that there might be a problem with moving/removing the electrical wires attached to the side of the house. That seemed to be a major concern. He proceeded to go into the back to look, took some photos, did not sit down to talk with me about his products, except Colonial was rated very highly with James Hardee. His final statement to me was he would get back to us in a week or so with his estimate, which actually took two weeks. I was not impressed at all. After he left the house, he took a few more photos, then proceeded to empty out the contents of the back of his vehicle in front of my house on the street. Very unprofessional.

It wasn't until I had a big problem with another contractor tied to the overall improvement of the job that I realized and appreciated to capabilities and professionalism of the Colonial Team. We were adding a front farmers porch which needed to be completed prior to Colonial starting their work. The current framing contractor notified me it would be two months before they could start and I was on a one month sealine which everything needed completion. I called Michael Shannon at Colonial, informed him of the problem and the delay. He calmly asked for a copy of the existing plans and called back an hour later to say his crew could handle it, gave me a very competitive quote and importantly it would be done with the necessary timeframe! His crews were punctual, professional, clean and polite! The work helped restore out 1940s house to the stand out on the block and exactly how we invision the result. Later when I returned from a business trip to find that raccoon had dug a hole in the roof and water was entering...Michaels Team quickly responded to fix the problem! Prompt, professional, quality work and a great price...that's what I got from Micael Shannon and his team at Colonial Remodling! I highly recommend his team for your needs!

The service was excellent! The provider was very timely and orderly and new exactly what they were doing. I am very happy that I chose to go with Colonial Roofing!

They started on time and finished the work as projected. Short on a material for the siding but they ordered it got in done about a week later. Everything looks very good. They left no debris, wouldn't even know they had been there. Very prompt to answer any of our questions before the final contract and during the project. The only thing that was not the best was the porta-potty stayed in our drive for about or week or so after they were done. Not Colonial's fault they keep calling the company and telling them to pick it up. But they work was being done around the Thanksgiving time frame, so that could have been a factor. It was just kinda funny, guess no one needed the john. But it was picked up and we are good to go. The Sidling looks great, lots of compliments.

We need a new sliding door for our patio. I emailed Colonial and requested a quote. Colonial does not state the $10,000 minimum on either their Angie's list page or their website. Their loss, as this summer we will be replacing our roof.
