Description of Work: Clawes removed the old carpet from a stairwell, hallway, and 3 bedrooms and installed a new pad and carpet. They were very friendly, responsive, and helpful in discussing options for carpets and pads. The installation crew was professional and efficient. The work is excellent and they started and finished right on time. We are very pleased.

Description of Work: Clawes Carpet were professional, on time, & did a wonderful job. We had carpet installed on two levels of our home. From start to finish the experience was excellent.

Description of Work: Replaced carpeting with engineered wood in front hall, living room, dining room, stairs, upstairs hallway. Downstairs replaced flooring with laminate. Added carpet runner to stairs and an area rug in the dining room. Took longer than initially planned as I chose a color with maple that had to be manufactured.

Description of Work: We had Clawes Carpet install new wood flooring in a rec area, large bedroom, staircase with 3 landings and a hallway. A custom crafted curved stair was also included. The cost was $6700 and was the best of 3 estimates. Dealing with this company was actually enjoyable as their personal were always upbeat, helpful and professional. Clawes Carpets is a family business and each family member and other employees takes a personal interest in the job you are doing to make sure you are completely satisfied. And completely satisfied is what we were! The work they performed was done on schedule and to perfection. The result is beautiful. If this report seems too glowing it's because we truly feel that way about the Clawes team.

Description of Work: I ordered carpet & padding for all of my 1½ bedroom condo except the bathrooms & kitchen. Their man came to take the measurements before ordering the carpet. | My front door opens into a 6' x 8' foyer. On installation day, when they had carpeted almost to my front door they told me that the door wouldn't open because the carpet was too high.[I would have thought that should have been part of the measurement.] | They gave me no refund & I paid an extra 11% for the purchase & installation of a laminate for the foyer. I chose Clawes because of the good reviews although their price was higher than I had planned to spend. Had I known at the start how it would go, I might not of used them because of the cost & because they do not carry the flooring I would have chosen for the foyer. | There's more but I haven't the energy to continue. |

Description of Work: We stopped in at the Clawes Carpets location in Fairfax to inquire about carpet and right away they seemed to understand what we were interested in. Let us take home as many samples as we wanted and had someone come out the next week to take measurements. Everything came together really quickly and they were able to work the carpet installation around other work we had going on in our house at the same time. The guys doing the installation were able to come early (who is ever early anymore?!) and they were very quick and professional. The only negative would be that while nothing was broken I do wish they had taken a bit more care when moving furniture. I did find that one small part of my bed was chipped but it's covered by blankets and was small. They did put just about everything back though I did have to do a little bit of cleanup after they left. The price was probably more than I had in mind but I really didn't know what to expect but do think it was a fair price for good quality carpet. It's only been a few days but I have been so happy with the carpet and how soft and plush it is. We had hardwood floors and other work done on our place at the same time and while I love all of it I find myself raving to my husband every day about the carpet! I'd absolutely recommend Clawes to anyone interested in new carpet.

Description of Work: Installed hardwood in the living room, office, dining room, staircase and upstairs hallway. Very easy to work with. My only "gripe" is that the stain on the stairs is not the same as the pre-stained hardwood on the floors. There's a definite color difference because they didn't use the same hardwood but stained solid hardwood steps instead.
