We had two floors and stairs done, it took them two days, the were on time, the cleaned up after, were efficient, and very polite. I strongly recommend Clawes to anyone wanting to get flooring done. We contracted recently with Clawes Carpet to replace the 25-year-old carpet in our townhouse, in preparation for sale. Their work was superb in every way! From the first estimate, to the actual work days, Clawes Carpet’s representatives were professional, prompt, and hard working. We wish to give special recognition to Reynaldo and his team, who arrived on time, worked hard, completed the work without delay, and and cleaned up thoroughly when the project was finished. Our house looks brand new, owing to the company’s fine work. Most highly recommended!

Clawes Carpet replaced the flooring on both my entry way, main level, basement and the stairs which connect these levels in my townhouse. I cannot say enough positive thoughts about this company, its administrative staff, installers and the whole process from start to finish has been smooth and well organized (even when I requested to change the install date :)). They are accommodating and the final result is outstanding! I love the final results, and receive lots of compliments. This has been the best and most pleasant experience! I would and have recommended this company over and over.

It went great, and has held up for over a year now. Very pleased with the results. I will definitely be using them when we need to have the carpet replaced eventually.

This is a locally-owned, family business and they made us feel like part of their family in our recent buy. We had to replace all the floor coverings in our large, finished basement after undergoing pipe leak/mold remediation issues. We'd had carpet throughout but our remediation folks strongly urged us to go with a waterproof vinyl plank to avoid moisture issues in the future (although we still got carpet on our stairs going down). We may have set a record for the number of samples and number of times we took samples home but everyone at Clawes was completely supportive, informative and helpful. We finally made our choices and installation was scheduled promptly and in coordination with a crew that was doing drywall repairs and painting. The installation crews arrived on schedule and were very hard-working, efficient and skilled. Looks great. We recommend Clawes.

PHENOMENAL! And I don’t bestow superlatives to just anyone. Our home's main floor and finished rec room were flooded in November 2017 just before Thanksgiving by a brand new Speedqueen washer that overflowed, and Clawes Carpets staff were our right arm throughout the nearly year-long insurance negotiation and restoration process! Adam in sales went head-to-head with our insurance company (Erie) for months, helping us ensure the extensive carpeting damage was covered, despite Erie’s claims to the contrary. Company co-owner Roy Clawes even went to the mat for us when Erie's insurance supervisor questioned Clawes' carpet measurements and tried to renegotiate the extent of the restoration. Thanks to Adam and Roy, we prevailed, but it took 6 months of persistence! This week Roy even offered to box up our office stuff when we were pretty exhausted – we’re very grateful, Roy, but in the end we managed to get everything packed up before your installation crew arrived :-) We were doubly thankful when Clawes assigned the da Vinci's of carpet installation -- Edgar Velasquez and Anibal Orosco -- to install our new carpet and pad on both floors. With 30 years in the business under his belt, Edgar is the epitome of AMAZING -- incredibly customer-service oriented, quick and hardworking PLUS a keen eye for detail in laying out carpet so it's as seamless as possible, all the while suggesting options we would not have thought of ourselves. It took a full 3 days to re-carpet both floors – with Edgar and his very capable wing-man Anibal working morning til evening -- moving EXTREMELY HEAVY furniture while ensuring our home remained as clean and orderly as possible each day – even vacuuming every square inch of newly installed flooring. Clawes scheduling staff knew we had just painted and re-wallpapered our 2 floors, and Edgar and Anibal went the extra mile to ensure our walls remained pristine, hand-carrying back-breaking 12-foot rolls of carpet and pad without touching our walls. The end result: perfection! There's a very good reason why both Edgar and Anibal are in extremely high demand by Washington-area designers who wait months for their special touch as carpet installers. We're indebted to everyone at Clawes for their partnership, and we wouldn’t hesitate to give them our business when it comes time to redo the flooring in our rest of our home. I was very pleased with Clawes from start to finish. They helped me with picking out the tile I wanted, and scheduling the work was very easy. The work team showed up on time, and was very courteous. They finished the work within four or five hours, and the floor looks great! Thanks very much!

They have a great selection of tile, wood, and carpet. Slightly more expensive than the other quote we got, but the work was fast and professional. I have no regrets about the price.

The workers arrived on time, moved our furniture, and replaced our padding and carpet. Also restretched our hallway carpet.

Took 5 days which was longer than planned but the attention to detail was worth it. Looks wonderful.

The experience was absolutely horrible. Bobby arrived to measure as promised and a few days later assisted in selecting the flooring. However, on the date of install, I received a phone call about an hour after the installers had arrived indicating that the bathroom flooring was not included in the quote and they would not be able to complete the bathroom. We had done extensive work to have the bathroom (it was completely torn apart) prepared for new flooring, but they indicated it was not included. I indicated it had been in the original request, it was to be included, and I even had email documentation (that the company had responded to, so I know they received them) indicating that. A second employee called me back an hour later and when I pointed him to the emails he indicated, "I understand EXACTLY what you are saying. I will have someone call you back." While waiting for someone to call me back, I checked the quote and saw that it said, "basement area." Luis called an hour later and immediately began arguing that the bathroom was not to be included and they would not complete the work. I tried to point him to the emails showing that the bathroom should be included and he responded, "we receive hundreds of emails from customers and can't possibly keep track of them all." Please note the emails in question were responded to be Clawes and had the quote attached. If they cannot keep track of customer requests and quote information, they should NOT be in business. I requested to speak with a manager or supervisor. Five and a half hours into the installation, with my basement torn apart, Bobby calls and like Luis, immediately starts yelling at me. He indicated the bathroom was not included, told me I was dishonest, and accused me to trying to get something for free. He went on to indicate I would know the bathroom was not included by looking at the diagram. I told him I had not received the diagram to which he responded, "of course you didn't, we don't give the diagrams to customers." So, how was I supposed to know he left off the bathroom by "looking" at a diagram when it had never been provided? Now that we were 5 1/2 hours into installation and my basement was torn apart and it would be difficult to find another company to complete the job prior to the upcoming holidays, Bobby demanded more money to complete the job. He was rude, condescending, and unprofessional. He also kept referring to the diagram I had never been provided. He made no attempt to try to provide even a reasonable level of customer service. After discussing the issues with my husband, I called back to try to pay the additional amount because we were understandably concerned the installation would not be done correctly and because our basement was a bit of a construction zone. He then refused to take payment, acted very condescendingly to me and told me I just wanted it done for free and hung up on me. In the end, the installers had enough material to complete the bathroom and were able to do it with the scheduled time frame. So, Bobby lost a customer when there was enough time and materials to complete the job as originally requested. While I was glad the flooring installation was completed, they left the house a mess. In addition, the day after installation,in the light of day, we found damage to our furniture and walls and they left us with a leaking toilet which was not a problem prior to the installation. After the way I have been treated, I won't dare call the company with these concerns and I certainly won't hire them again.

They were perfectly fine and I would use them again.

We stopped by the store, picked out the in stock Armstrong vinyl and made an appt. to get it measured. There weren't many folks in the store on that Saturday, and it was pretty slow going. They did mention it might take 6 weeks to get done (I thought that was the entire time until installation- they meant from whenever they scheduled the work, though they took the down payment then). I thought that was long; but could live with it if I had to (all the materials from the basement were in my family room). They were very nice, and polite through this entire process (and after); though it was a bit of a hassle from my side- as you can see below. The appt. took about a week, and went fine (though it only took a few minutes). Over a week later, I called to find out why no estimate. A few days later I called again and found they had mixed up my wife's name and mine to make a new name so we finally got the estimate. I told them to schedule the job and put a downpayment on it. I was told it would be six or more weeks to get the job done. I did complain, as more than 2 weeks had already passed; and it seemed unfair that it would take them another 6 weeks. They managed to get us scheduled in ~5 weeks. When the time came, they couldn't do it on Friday; but called the night before to cancel (I was scheduled to take the day off already) and schedule for Sat. morning at 8 (I had scheduled to leave at 8:30AM to take care of my grandson). Sat. morning they called and rescheduled for the afternoon. They called and asked me to pay the rest of the cost Saturday, before they did the work; which was awkward. Evidently, they thought it had been done on Friday; so they had a disconnect with the accounting, too. The entire job took about 3 hours; and they did a fine job. No complaints with the work; though it was some hassle to get it all done. They were nice and the job is well done; but the complications were messy and I almost cancelled at one point.

They were prompt. The rug was cleaned and remains looking excellent! We've had other rug cleaners clean this rug over the past few years, and sometimes, spots that they supposedly removed, returned after a short time. I feel the cleaning Clawes did was definitely better than any others I've ever used.

The did excellent work with the hardwood floor. There were some issues with the carpet job. In one case damage was done, but we were compensated by the company. The quality of the carpet was not what I expected, but that has to be on me, since I did not request a sample of the material. Finally, some of the finish work was not well done, but these were minor issues that I was able to fix on my own.

The installers arrived on-time and did a great job with the installation. They even helped me run speaker wires to my rear surround speakers! We highly recommend them and will use them for future flooring needs. We picked out pretty high quality carpet and upgraded padding, which is reflected in the cost.

They were really good. They were just really responsive to questions they were very accommodating to appointment times they wouldn't normally do. They came back a second time for cleaning they did, something was wrong with it and they came back with no charge. We were able to negotiate. They actually came too early, I wasn't ready.

At first the people at belle haven were very nice. That was the end of it. No follow up on anything: we paid the deposit and scheduled a month out to ensure there was plenty of time. No calls to confirm the install until I reached out to them. They didn't even have me on the schedule and need to pick another date. We are moving in on August 4. They came out to measure and didn't look at what needed to be done for replacing the carpet with wood. I am now told that the flooring has to be floating because of the tile. Which I didn't want nor pay for as well we they have to come back because the stairs aren't correct. Not a good company nor organized. Don't shop here!

Absolutely Wonderful!! My realtor recommended Clawes so I gave them a call. They were not only able to squeeze me in the next day (amazing luck!) but the technicians showed up EARLY!! My parents were still in the process of getting boxes and furniture moved out of the way so the technicians came in and helped them move stuff. I will say, my ex was a mechanic and had tracked several grease spots on both sets of staircases and there were a couple of really bad food stains. I was hopeful but skeptical as to how clean they could actually get the carpets. My carpets look AMAZING!! The grease is GONE and the house looks so much better!! I am extremely satisfied and happy with the work that was done. Everyone I dealt with was professional and made this really easy for me. I would not only recommend Clawes but will absolutely use them in my new home!!

They were so great, so professional and worked with our crazy military move situation. Very reasonable and accommodating.
