My wife and I had planned to get new carpet for our bedroom. We met the owner and he was extremely helpful in making our decision. The sale price was very good and we decided to get another room done as well. He gave us a preliminary estimate, which turned out to be very close to the final price. Their appointments for measuring and installation were prompt, and the installers were very professional. An exceptional experience and I would highly recommend Clawes.

We found everyone we came in contact with to be interested in helping us find the right carpet for our home. We were given choices of grade and cost, and the benefits of each one we looked at. The appointment for the estimate was made with Bobbie Clawes, he was on time and very knowledgeable about our options. After we decided what we wanted the carpet was ordered and they met our deadline for installation. The crew that laid the pad and carpet were on time, (actually early) cleaned up after themselves and were accommodating. We are very pleased and would use them again. By the way, they also redo bathrooms and kitchens. We very well may have them back to do our bathrooms.

They are a family owned business. We could not be happier. They are honest about their product and their installers are phenomenal. Their prices are not necessary the lowest but the customer service is more than worth it. We will be going back to them in the future for our flooring needs.

They have a showroom. They have a very good pricing and very good rates. They did our entire house in a day and half. They moved all the furniture. They were a minor stain sort of a dye on the carpet. They came out the next day and fixed that. They did a really good job. The labors were very good.

Roy Clawes came to our home to discuss our needs and to measure the space. He was great, helpful, knowledgeable, and had a pleasant personality. We went to the Fairfax store to choose the carpet and laundry room flooring, the salesman was extremely patient with my husband and I going back and forth on what we each were looking for. Roy called a little after we left the store to apologize that he didn't get back to the store prior to our leaving, he saw the choices and asked if we wanted to spend that much money on a laundry room or would we like to see the flooring he was suggesting that was a little lower priced. Wow, a salesman who is keeping the clients budget in mind and not just his own! We went back to the store to look at what he had suggested and once again the salesman in the store was extremely patient with our indecision. Roy called again a short time later to schedule the work. The hardwood stairs and laundry/lower kitchen were scheduled on one day and the carpet happened to come in a few days later and was scheduled the next. It all looked beautiful, but when my husband came home (he with the more discerning eye than me) he felt a lumpy spot in one room. He called Roy, who scheduled a crew to come out and take a look. The crew pulled up all the carpet in the lumpy spot and discovered it was an uneven part of the cement floor, as if a clump of cement had been dropped and not smoothed out. The crew got some tools and chipped the rough spot away, and reinstalled the carpet. All the rooms are beautiful! From the beginning it couldn't have been a better experience or more professional, customer service oriented company! They deserve their rating!

Everyone at the store was very courteous and provided excellent service. They shipped samples of various carpets to my home so that I could see how the color swatches matched my other flooring. The workers showed up on time, worked very hard, and did an excellent job. The carpet looks beautiful and seems very durable. (The one cat stain so far on the new carpet easily cleaned up.) The only concern I had was that the installers had another job to do after mine, and my project took up most of the day. I had a terrible experience with Home Depot and would highly recommend this family-owned business, and will certainly use the company in the future.

The carpet for the family room, adjacent stairs, and hallway went smoothly. The measuring took more than one visit, and I would have preferred to have had the seam in another area; otherwise, the installation crew came on time, worked quickly and thoroughly. The carpet is fine. A few weeks later, I decided to order runners. Roy Clawes came to the house,helped with the decision, measuring, and ordering. The process went smoothly and the carpet came in sooner than expected. The installer, James, was excellent. He worked painstakingly, and the result on the stairs is superb. I had some issues with the runner in the hallway crawling off the pad. Roy Clawes promptly addressed the issue by relaying the runner with a new pad. The result is excellent. With both installations, I feel the company addressed any concerns promptly and courteously.

They were scheduled to come on two separate Saturdays, the hardwood and DuraCeramic on one and the carpet on the other. They started work immediately and were very efficient. When they pulled up all the old flooring on the first floor they found that the floors were extremely uneven (the Gypcrete had been poorly laid by a past owner). and it was going to be difficult to get the floors properly laid. The project manager (sorry, don't recall his name) went to the Home Depot to see what he could find to fix it and he came back with roof shingles which they then used to build up areas to even out the floor (they also had to chip away some areas to lower it). They did a really great job in the living room and in the hallway. But the dining room starts to be a little hilly. And the last room they finished was the kitchen which really has some hills and valleys in there. I don't know if they ran out of the shingles or what (since it was the last room completed) but there are some major air pockets that dip down when you walk in there. There was a lot of cracking sounds when walking in the kitchen those first few days. I don't like walking in the kitchen and dining room because of the air pockets. The hardwood LOOKS beautiful throughout. Just wish they'd been able to get the kitchen and dining more even. The DuraCeramic looks awesome, I am very happy with that product and the installation. The carpet was done the following weekend. They did a pretty good job. Showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves. The guys tried screwing down the floorboards (to secure them better - get rid of the squeeks). But for some reason couldn't get the screws in. They actually hammered down the screws if you can believe it. But the end product works...lot less squeaks and the carpet installation looks fabulous!

Went very good. Store let us take samples home multiple times to match what we wanted. Installation went very smooth with no issues.

This is our third project with Clawes. As always, they were a delight to work with from start to finish. Every person I spoke with was friendly, courteous and professional. Their products, at least the ones I am interested in and choose, are the highest quality. The installers showed up slightly after I expected them (9:15 instead of between 8-9) but 15 minutes is forgivable when the people work so hard to get everything perfect. Our home is about 25 years old and we bought it as a foreclosure. The floors were in bad shape. Thanks to Clawes, most of our floors now look great.

Excellent work from Clawes. All work was performed as agreed. Workers were punctual. Price was very reasonable. We highly recommend Clawes.

The sales staff worked with me and were able to meet my requirements. They did an excellent job. I was very very pleased with the outcome. They were very punctual and professional. The workers did an excellent job and were very timely. They even had to move a great deal of furniture including a pool table.

We are exchanging condos with my mother and both units needed totally new flooring. Calling this move and these renovations complicated would be an understatement. Roy Clawes and his company worked diligently and conscientiously with us to make the renovation a great success. He showed us many options on multiple occasions, delivering extra samples to our homes and offering to deliver yet others as well. He scheduled both units for flooring during the same week, which really helped keep the moves on track. When the time came to install, the workmanship of the Clawes team was superb. The carpets, hardwoods, and duraceramic tiles all turned out beautifully. I recommend Clawes enthusiastically for customer service, price and quality.

Clawes is a family owned and run company that has stores in Fairfax, Clifton & Vienna. All of the three siblings (Roy, Bobby & Teresa) are extremely personable, conscientious, and professional. Consistently they make very effort to understand their customer's needs and to accommodate any special requests. Having worked primarily with Roy, we have great respect for his expertise and experience, so we always value his advice and suggestions. Twice when our carpets required repair because of spills, Roy was quick to recommend and implement excellent solutions to the damaged areas. We consider Clawes Carpets The Very Best in this entire metropolitan area. Frequently we refer our friends to Clawes, because: 1) Clawes Carpets carries a large selection of high-quality products at competitive prices; 2) the company uses the best installers available; and 3) they do everything possible to exceed their customers' expectations.

After re-painting our finished basement, we decided that the existing carpet looked old and tired. We stopped by Clawes Carpet in the Union Mill shopping center near our home. We were greeted by Luis who made recommendations and gave us samples to take home. After deciding that we really did want to replace the carpet and selecting a sample, we contacted Clawes to set up a measurement and estimate. The owner, Bobby, personally came to our house to do the measurement , and, unknowingly recommended the exact carpet that we had selected from the samples we brought home! We gave them an A for price because we found that Clawes QUALITY for the price beat the big box home improvement store hands down when we compared the two. The installers were fantastic. They took great care in ensuring that they did not harm the freshly painted walls. I can't say enough how much we appreciated the quality of the workmanship and service provided by this company. I will be telling all my friends to consider this company for all of their flooring needs as they also do tile and hardwood.

These guys are a real pleasure. In store they were helpful. Estimate/measure visit was prompt and on time. Installation dudes were a finely-tuned machine. In, remove old, lay new carpet, out the door. They were very helpful with the furniture moving. The team leader double-checked it all and they didn't leave so much as a loose nail or piece of carpet scrap in the driveway.

We were staging our townhouse for sale. They understood that as the carpet people they would go last and may have to work on short notice. They were very accommodating around scheduling for both the estimate and the work. All of the work was done in one day and everything looked great. They were very neat (making sure to clean everything before leaving). They also provided some tips that we passed along to our painters.

We are thrilled with the entire experience and absolutely recommend Clawes Carpets, Inc. on Braddock Road to others, and plan to use them again ourselves! We are so pleased to find such a knowledgeable staff and an overall customer-service oriented family-owned business (there just aren't enough of them anymore!). We went to the store to see if we could find a difficult-to-find color and were successful. After going to some chain stores, it was such a "breath of fresh air" to be greeted by Roy who was friendly, not pushy, yet interested in helping us on our mission to find the "perfect" color we were seeking. He ordered a sample for us which helped us make the decision to order the carpet because with that, we were able to be certain the color was an exact match. The carpet is high quality and perfectly cut/bound. Roy came to our house himself to measure, and even worked it into his schedule to be there when it was delivered. We had to have the carpet spread by a certain time on a certain date because furniture was being delivered at a specific time, and Roy made sure it happened. We are so appreciative of his attention to detail and responsiveness. He and his staff absolutely put the customer first!

They were very professional. They were on time and they said they would send me an email with the quote and options and they did that. He also gave me a call explaining the estimates. The cost was pretty high though compared to a lot of people. He was very professional and good. I would recommend them not for their price but for their estimate and knowledge the people who came out for the inspection had. The cost was why we didn't go with them and it would depend on the cost if we would use them in the future.

Staff was professional and easy to deal with. Installers did a great job. There was a lot of heavy furniture to move which they handled for us.

Met Johnny in the store. I had done some pre home work and Johnny was very helpful. Roy came out to measure and provided the estimate. I reviewed the approach with Roy and we discussed various approaches to reduce the overall cost. Roy was easy to wrok with. Also, the prices in the store were on the carpet and it was easy to determine how much you would be paying. The installers were there on time and completed the work in a professional manner. I would definitely recommend them.

Recommend going to the show room first. They were very helpful in identifying options.
