What started off as a positive interaction quickly became a series of unreturned phone calls and emails, apparent misjudgement of the job by one of the owners, failure to complete any work on the scheduled day, failure to show up the next scheduled day, several employees blaming me for the company's mistakes, and the company trying to cancel the work based on their incorrect belief they had fought with my husband (it turned out they had been fighting with a stranger). The work was finally completed, and it's passable but not impressive. The floor isn't flat, and the vinyl was cut badly to fit the requirements of the space.

They messed up so bad that I was also supposed to buy carpet from them and I declined. They should have equipment that doesn't leak water all over the floor. They should remove enough of the water and soap so it doesn't take three days to dry. The carpet should be damp not soaking wet. They offered to come back out and I said no. I wasn't chasing them around with a towel. The hose was leaking fluid. The man didn't have anything attached to his hose he was using to suck it up. When it dried the carpet was hard so I ended up getting someone else to come out. They ended up going over the floor twice. All Clawes Carpets Inc did was pull the dirt up and leave it at the top of the dirt. It was the worse carpet cleaning job I have ever had.

Perfect!! From the time we met them in their Alexandria office until the work was done everything was just perfect. We dealt with Mike Dollar as our customer representative who was quite gracious and knowledgeable. We would certainly recommend them to our friends and would use their services again.

We worked with Roy in the Fairfax store. We needed the work done quickly and he went above and beyond to help us select a carpet and get it installed quickly. It is hard to find good customer service these days but Clawes Carpets exceeded all our expectations. I highly recommend them.

These folks are great! I was very pleased with everyone I dealt with. Mike came out promptly after I called to provide an estimate, which wasn't cheap, but in line with another estimate from a reputable company. Everything proceeded as he said it would. It took about a week for the carpet to arrive at the store. April (the scheduling person) was able to fit the installation date into my schedule for about a week later, and she called me the day before with a reminder. The installers (Jose and Victor) arrived right on time. They were very careful when moving furniture in and out of the rooms, and did a great job removing the old carpet and installing the new one. It looks and feels wonderful! The only problem with getting new carpet (or any flooring) is you have to declutter the rooms so the guys can move the furniture. And they really do move everything, so unless the house is empty, be sure to plan for enough time to pack stuff up a day or so before and get it out of the rooms to be carpeted.

I was very satisfied with them. Everybody was fine. They were very amiable and knowledgeable. I had no bad experiences, no. Everything turned out just fine. I thought they were very responsive. They did what they said they were going to do, got back to me when they said they were going to get back to me. I thought they were very professional. I would tell others that they were very reasonable to work with, professional, and they gave me a good price. I priced other things around and they were really competitive. The workers were polite, and they removed my carpet, and they cleaned up as they were going along, and they put my furniture back, and they were pleasant to deal with.

Excellent after logistics were solidified

We were very happy with the help we received in trying to match our existing hardwood. Doug dropped additional samples from another store at our house when we were unable to find what we wanted. Clawe's was flexible about scheduling and arrived when they were scheduled, both to drop off the wood prior to the job and when it was time to do the work. Part of the job was to move the heavy furniture and the work crew was careful with it. The crew acted professional and worked well together. As we were warned, hardwood floor installation was noisy. I did not realize it would be so dusty. The crew left the room 'broom' clean, but it needed quite a bit of vacuuming to get it into shape once they left. It bothers me a bit that the heavy furniture which they moved back into place is sitting on a dusty floor. Compared to having a hardwood floor finished in place this was a breeze - much less mess, no bad odor and the whole job took about 5 hours. We are satisfied with the floor and the installation and will return to Clawe's the next time we need flooring.

I actually used them earlier in the water to install another floor, it wasn’t carpeting, it was a tile floor. They did an excellent job there, so I used them again. They are down to earth, locally owned, honest and very priced competitive. The workers were professional.

This was an incredible job. They assistance provided before the installation was friendly, professional and incredibly useful in helping us select the right wood and color. They delivered the wood for seasoning as scheduled and their team of 7 men arrived at the scheduled time. They moved furniture, tore out the old carpet and two sections of old engineered wood and did an immaculate job of laying the new wood and 1/4 rounds. The 7 guys finished the entire job in a single day, cleaning up, readjusting the furniture and getting out by 7 PM.

They are easy to deal with, they are okay. We have used them for our rental houses. They are friendly and responsive.

We reviewed several companies on Angie’s List and after consulting with several, overwhelmingly choose Clawes Carpet. Doug conveniently came to our house with multiple samples and quickly measured the floor. He displayed the samples, talked about the differences in hardwood and suggested that we come to the Bristow showroom to see more samples. The very personable and welcoming consultation with Valerie was simple yet detailed. She asked many questions such as the color of our existing furniture, whether we wanted our furniture to stand out, traffic patterns, ease of care desired, etc. She did not try to upsell or offer something that didn’t interest us. The installation price package was very reasonable and competitive. The carpet removal and hardwood installation process was incredibly smooth. After leaving the wood flooring for several days to acclimate, the install team arrived promptly, worked efficiently, and left a great, clean and professional product in one day. We still have more work that we want done at a later date and most strongly recommend the friendly and knowledgeable team at Clawes Carpet.

They beat the price, they beat the time frame. They came back out when I saw scratch in the wood they came back put the next time I needed them cause you know I take time off work for that and they were all good I give them A on everything.

They did a great job. Showed up on time and were very courteous and professional.

Made sure that the amount of carpet was the minimum required to do the job. Other companies just added a percentage for waste. Installers showed up as scheduled and did a great job.

It went as well as we had hoped. We started our search for flooring providers nearly a year ago. We visited several places but early on we decided we wanted to work with Clawes. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and had a great reputation. We worked with the Clifton location. Bobby, Luis and Jose were very easy to work with. They let us take floors samples many, many times and if we wanted to see something they didn’t have, they would get it. They knew their products and we appreciated that they would recommend which products would be best for us and which products wouldn't. Our installation was a big job. It took a crew of 5-6 men two very full days to complete. They had to demo tile, install the new hardwood floors, new floor baseboards and tile in our mudroom. We had a full staircase done as well. The crew was incredibly hard working and had a great attention to detail. They were even able to cut a board along the jagged edge of a stone fireplace. Our floors look fantastic. We are very happy with our decision to use Clawes and we appreciate the great service.

The premium carpet and extra thick pad were outstanding products for a reasonable price. The installation was something of a challenge given the number of bookcases and other large pieces of furniture, as well as a full-size pool table. However the installation team was completely professional and efficient. They moved all the furniture and pool table around to open the work areas and then replaced them perfectly. They were on-time and worked hard all day to do a beautiful job of installing and completing the tasks when they had predicted. A pleasure to watch true professionals work.

The salesman Mike is very professional, friendly, and flexible. In my price range, he was able to find a deal for me without loosing in quality of wood and installation. I tried different companies in the area - in some cases service was not great, in most cases price was much higher. I tried Lowes - it really sucked: rude salesperson and 2000 more in the price tag. The installers Antonio and Fransisco were very polite and professional. The floor looks now beautiful. They even did some small extras for me (they fixed the molding in the kitchen and hallway). They were fantastic. I think they're really good. I have no complaints. Locally, they're the best. They were fast, professional, and went out of their way.
