The man who measured our space was spot on and we have a weirdly shaped room. His drawing of our footprint was so architecturally beautiful, it could've been hung in the Smithsonian. The staff was very helpful in making our carpet selection - providing the pros and cons of the ones we narrowed down. They were able to work us in on a Saturday afternoon. It was a wonderful experience and we love the final product. Will definitely use them again as we update our flooring.

They're certainly an "A." I would absolutely use them in the future.

The quality of the product was apparent from the moment we walked into the store. The sales staff were friendly and once we decided to move forward with our purchase they fit us into their calendar so we could have our new carpet ahead of company we planned to host 2 weeks later. We were pleased with all aspects of the work and would definitely work with them again in the future.

The work was performed on two separate days as the master bedroom carpeting was put in later in the month at our request. The people at Clawes were fantastic to work with. They will be as helpful as you need in picking out colors and recommending the best type of carpets for each particular room. We were matching some existing Bruce hardwood flooring, which had been done a few years back and had no trouble finding it. Scheduling was very easy and, because they have several crews, they will make sure the crew with the right type of experience works your job. The pricing was very reasonable for the amount of work done and they cleaned up perfectly when they were done. The crews could not have been nicer guys and work incredibly hard to get things right. They are very skilled at what they were doing and, at an earlier pre-look visit, the crew chief had some helpful ideas about dealing with some banister flanges on the floor. They also had to tear up some old peel and stick parquet wood flooring I had put down myself some 15 years ago. Yes, you pay a little extra for them to remove the old wood, but it has to come up to lay new wood down. For carpeting, you can get away with putting it over the old wood. Just be sure there is enough room, given how far this will raise the floor, for the doors to close or you may, as we did, have to shave the bottom of the doors. Generally, if you remove what's there first, the doors are not an issue. This was thick, but very comfortable carpeting and they use a quality thick padding, so it will raise the floor level a bit if you're putting it over wood. (call that a lesson learned). As with all such large jobs, there are always little things that need attention after the fact and Clawes was very good at taking care of them. We made a short list, all fairly minor items, and they went through and addressed each one to our satisfaction. This is a family owned business and they have been around for more than 37 years, so we saw several second and third generation family members who work out of the store. So, you get to support a local small business that takes great pride in the work they do. I would recommend Clawes, and have already, to anyone looking to do indoor flooring work, carpets or wood flooring. We have two more bathrooms, for which we need to do something else first, but we will have Clawes back to do them. About a year or two ago, we used another business to put in linoleum in the kitchen and carpeting in the other small bedroom. The carpeting is fine, but we've never been happy with the kitchen linoleum, even after they came back and reworked it. The glue just won't stop it from coming up, giving it that sticky sound in several places. Wished we had thought to use Clawes as they would have used a better material and would have been less expensive, as well. Bottom line, use these guys. You won't be disappointed.

Everything went great. They showed up on time and were professional. A year later, the carpet still looks great.

I called a week prior to schedule an estimate for new carpet throughout my home, an appt was scheduled with Catherine for 3pm. My husband left work early to make sure he was home for the appt and no one showed or called. When I called Clawes the lady said it was her fault because the estimator said they needed to reschedule and she thought she called me but she never did. They missed their appt without giving myself of my husband a heads up. I believe in second chances so I have scheduled for next Tuesday between 530 and 6pm. If they are late without a heads up I will not schedule again.

From start to finish, a wonderful experience! The staff is professional, knowledgable, attentive and responsive. They really listened to what we wanted and did not try to push what they believe we wanted. The staff was proactive and contacted us during each step in the process. We had no issues since they were on top of everything. We will absolutely return to Clawes for all of our flooring needs.

Except for the antiquated paper system that Clawes employs, they were prompt in most aspects of the job. The installation was fast and there wasn't a bunch of waste left around to cleanup.

Very happy with the results. You cannot tell that the carpet was repaired and restretched. The work was done promptly and the price was reasonable. We would use them again.

Clawes was fantastic. We were scheduled for one week, but had to push back due to other issues -- they had no problem with that and kindly rescheduled us. They laid new carpet on several levels and lots of stairs and were done in a day! It looks beautiful and no one can find the seems. We'll definitely use them again.

The worked around our budget and did a great job. At first a more expensive option was pushed but when I said we had a strict budget, they were able to make it work. They came as close as they could to matching the basement living space carpet with the new carpet for the spare bedroom.

Our experience with Clawes was excellent from beginning to end! Showroom staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The gentleman who measured was punctual and provided sound advice. The price was more than competitive and scheduling worked with me as I was coordinating painting, carpeting, and furniture delivery. The installers were professional and courteous and left the job in pristine condition.

Initial work replacing carpeting on stairways and hallway and installing flooring in bedrooms and family room. Excellent service, crew and quality of work -- no need to worry about this company doing a "bait and switch" -- you will get what you paid for. Had a little problem with the 2nd crew that later installed new DuraCeramic flooring in kitchen, but issue taken care of immediately after I contacted Clawes (the crew had placed stove on top of valuable oriental rug in dining room without anything underneath to protect the rug nor did they place cloth down to protect hardwood floors in foyer). This is a wonderful family business; great people to work with. Would not hesitate to recommend them for any work -- just be there since one crew was not as conscientious about protecting area during installation.

They a great job matching my carpet but for such a small area of the carpet they replaced it was very expensive.

We were happy with the work that Clawes performed. They installed wall to wall carpet in all 2nd floor bedrooms as well as our basement stairs and lower level family room. We had at least 2-3 other proposals and Clawes was very competitive with their pricing. For the most part they were very responsive to questions and were very accommodating with scheduling. We were also happy to see that the carpet installation foreman took the time to go through and fix any floor squeaks and creaks before the install. We're happy with the installed carpet although if there were any regrets, I think I would have asked for a thicker pad (I don't recall discussing with them what the lb rating of the pad was and I'm guessing we got a lower grade). We also had Clawes install new HW floors for our front stairs (to match our 1st floor). I could be wrong but it was my impression that Clawes subbed-out this work to a 3rd party (or at the very least a different crew). That wasn't necessarily a bad thing because the HW installers were very good -- all corners and seams for the wood are very tight and looks really good. Overall, we were pretty happy with Clawes and would recommend their services.

They did excellent work. They worked with my schedule and provide an excellent installer. If your looking for quality, excellent installation, along with great customer service this is the company for you.

Carpet that they brought to replace the piece in the closet was MUCH darker; and the original closet piece that they cut out to replace the soiled carpet was too short. The seams are breaking away.
