Overall it was good. They gave us a really good price. They had to reorder one window because it was cracked and installers didn’t notice. The foreman saw it when he came back to do an inspection. But it was no hassle to replace it.

Everything was perfect. The material was of high quality. I felt the workmanship was acceptable and I was there to observe them. Overall they did a professional and competent job. I did ask them to put a bit more foam in certain areas when I thought they were skipping on it a little bit. Overall I felt they did a very suitable job. I had no problems or any issues. They were the lowest in price so they won that as well. I was extremely happy with their professionalism and everything else. He was very competitive.

This is a review for American Windows based in Fairfax, VA (it's a bit confusing, as there is a company listed on Angie's list as "American Windows of VA", but that company is actually located in Kensington, MD). American Windows was a great company to work with. The Sunrise windows are great, the ProVia doors are even better, and the installation was very professional (the crew are real craftsmen, not just laborers). When problems arose (as is reasonable with a job this big) Bill made things right immediately. I am planning to use them again, to replace another door and to add shutters to my house. I would certainly recommend them to family and friends.

They were great! The first item that was installed was damaged, and they fixed everything for no charge. They replaced all my windows in one day.

Is it possible to hire a contractor who: Gives you an informative low-pressure sales presentation? Responds almost immediately to phone calls and emails? Respects your time, always showing up on time for appointments? Offers high quality products at a reasonable price? Does work on time and on budget? Does a first-rate job and stands by their work? The answer to all of these questions is yes! We had a great experience with American Windows. Bill Galleher, one of the owners, met with us for the initial estimate. Deciding between his company and another contractor, Bill answered all of our questions thoroughly, oftentimes responding within minutes of me sending an email. We worked with Bill through the entire process--he came on the day of the job and came a couple days later to make sure everything was perfect. The installers were led by V., who has worked for the company for many years and clearly takes pride in his work. They did a great job, removing 17 old windows and installing replacements all in one day. I've never had such a positive experience with a contractor before and I'll definitely recommend American Windows to family and friends.

When we first moved into our house, American Windows & Siding was recommended to me by a friend when we were looking to have a sliding glass door put in. The company did an exceptional job on the door, so we decided to have them back to give us an estimate for having all our windows replaced. We got a very reasonable quote for the windows and their customer service/response time was exceptional, just as it had been the first time. The team showed up on time, were very pleasant and hard-working, as well as considerate of my pets. They worked quickly and efficiently, leaving the house as clean as when they had arrived. The windows look great both inside and out.

They were great! Bill G. is exceptionally nice and knowledgeable, and takes time to discuss the details with the customer. All of the employees who worked together to do the job were excellent, as well as personable, and did a perfect job. I was very impressed.

Ben Beltran and his team were fantastic. They were exceptionally professional, punctual, and responsive. The day of the window installation we managed to have snow but they worked right through the bad weather and did a beautiful job. We were very grateful for their work. From the initial call to arrange an estimate to clean up after the window installation, the company was fantastic. I would recommend them to my family and friends in a heartbeat.

The sales representative was excellent and not pushy - he was knowledgeable about the products and procedures, and he showed up exactly when he said he would and fielded several follow-up questions I had after I had seen other presentations. I feel that we would have been happy with them if we had contracted with them. Though the three estimates were not far from each other, their price was the cheapest of the three.

American windows removed our old vinyl windows and replaced with the new in a minimum of time. The crew was extremely professional, prompt, and did an excellent job on the install and cleanup.

Helpful, informative estimate from Bill, who was interested in my business, even though it was a small job. The new windows came earlier than anticipated, the install date was scheduled within a week. On the day of install, Paul and his crew showed up on time and worked efficiently. There was a problem with one of the windows - it was packaged as mine, but wasn't actually the correct window. This caused the work to extend into a second day, but it was completed without hassle. The crew cleaned up fairly well - just a little bit of dust/debris for my vacuum and the new windows look great - and my condo is much warmer.

Excellent performance all around. Straight forward discussion with Bill about available window options, followed by clearly spelled out and competitive offer. Installation crew was top-notch, installed all 28 windows within one and half days, while keeping the place absolutely clean. I was very impressed. All windows were fine from the start (and I can be quite picky....) and they look great. Highly recommended.

They finished the job in one day as stated. A couple of problems found in my walk through but corrected them promptly to my satisfaction. It was a pleasure dealing with Bill through the whole process. Other companies play games with you on price and try to intimidate into signing the "Good for tonight price". American gave a competitive price the first time. Didn't bully me with layers of sales managers calling later to lower price.

I had several estimates and decided to use American Windows after meeting with one of the owners. The estimate was reasonable and the time frame worked with our schedule. The installation crew did a good job and spent extra time due to some unexpected installation problems (we have an old house). The bow window is lovely and the sliding door works very well. We are happy with our experience and would use this company again.

Overall, it was a good experience and I will happily reccommend them to my friends and colleagues. That said, I was a bit surprised when the salesperson, who was also the job site supervisor, refused to honor a 20% discount coupon the company posted on Angies List. He explained that he was unaware of a discount coupon. While I found it hard to believe at first, I became convinced as he worked hard to come as close as he could to the discount offer without going into the red. I now believe he was acting in good faith and am happy with the product and the service.ommend the company, but

Bill (one of the owners) came out to give an estimate, was on time, and was very professional. He was the only one of three companies to tell me my new sliding glass door would not be a very expensive custom door. He said they would make an 8' door fit, even if it took an extra bit of work. The estimate was the lowest by far and after viewing the suggested door in their showroom, I knew the product was of good quality. Also, American only required a 10% deposit, so that was a pleasant surprise (other companies wanted 25-50% down). Bill warned me it would take 4-6 weeks to get the door and window and to set up an install time. Just over 4 weeks later, American called me to schedule the installation. The install crew showed up 30 minutes early, and were very professional. I think it took them longer than they expected, but they got the job done. The door and window look amazing! I would use them again for sure. On top of all of that, I had a busted window lock on a window completely unrelated to any of the work American did. When I asked for their advice on how to fix it, they said they would just take care of it. Sure enough, a few days later, Bill sent me a new piece in the mail to fix the window. Now that's quality service! Thanks, American!

I selected American Windows from among 6 different firms. They weren?t the cheapest and not the most expensive. I wanted a good window and good installation. American Windows came across as very customer service oriented and gave me the feeling they were not going to install the windows and run, but make sure I was happy well after the install. Day of install: The crew showed up on time and was very polite. I made sure they had what they needed and left for work. They worked until 1:30. My neighbors were very impressed with their efficiency. The windows and capping look great. Bill G. came by two days later to check with me and noticed a couple of screens had some small imperfections. He took them immediately for repair. He returned the next day with the repaired screens. I?m very happy.

Very professional installation performed timely and efficiently. I was concerned about meeting Homeowners Assn standards on the replacement, but the work and materials were excellent. Both Brad and Ed were very understanding of my concerns as an absentee landlord and worked with me while I got the resolutions required. I would definitely recommend this company. Their quote was quite competitive.

Great experience. Bill Gallagher was a pleasure to work with - took a lot of time to explain the choices without any pressure (unlike thompson- creek). Windows and doors were ready for installation 3-weeks later. V and crew did a great, professional job on installation. great work at a great price. I highly recommend them.

I liked working exclusively with one project manager, Brad. He presented the estimate, measured the windows, placed the order, and set up the date for installment when the windows arrived four weeks later. The four installers arrived on time early that hot day and completed the job by evening. They left he place clean. The only problem was the grids in the three front bottom floor windows were rotated so that they were elongated horizontally instead of vertically. Two days later I called Brad who arrived within 15 minutes and took pictures. He contacted the Sunrise company which made 6 new sashes. Three weeks later Brad came and replaced the sashes. I love my new windows. They have passed the recent test of storms without leaking and they are keeping the heat out.

I had a small problem getting American to get back to me, initially. After that they were extremely efficient and easy to deal with. Once we decided on what needed to be done, they ordered the windows, and when they were ready, they called and installed the next day, thanks to a cancellation. The work force completed the entire job above in one day. I would go back to them any time, especially after the hard sell and hugely over priced estimate I got from a company advertising on the radio. Once I dismissed that company, I immediately went to Angie's List and found American. I dealt primarily with Bob Mascola from American, and he was superb, once we established contact.
