I purchased a new 30" Thermador gas cooktop and the corresponding telescoping downdraft vent from Bray & Scarf and needed to get it installed into my pre-existing island with granite top. The new cooktop's dimensions are bigger than the one it replaces so the granite counter needed to be cut. Their technician came out to do the measurements and he said that I do not have enough space for both of them to fit, so he recommended I don't buy that Thermador and go with a Jenn-Air model that my wife did not like but was the only other option. I took my own measurements ahead of time and knew that with 2-3 cuts of granite, both units should fit with minor trimming of the cabinet wall. I decided that to do this job right, I needed to get professional kitchen remodelers who know what they are doing. I found FBT Tile on Angie's list, Jason came out to take a look and get measurements, and said the job is quite doable. The next day, he emailed me a quote, we negotiated the price a bit, and then came to an agreement. I had a baby on the way so coordinating his time to get the cooktop installed on my schedule was very important. Fortunately, Jason was able to complete his other projects ahead of schedule and was able to come out to get my cooktop installed on the date that worked best for me. Jason and Carlos arrived on the scheduled date, quickly set up floor protection, and got to work. It took about 3 hours, Jason cut the granite countertop to fit the cooktop and vent, and cut a piece out from back panel of the cabinet to get everything to fit nicely. He installed the cooktop and vent, made all the gas, electrical, and exhaust connections, cleaned everything up, checked the appliance out, and siliconed the perimeter of the cooktop/vent to make sure debris doesn't get in. As an experienced engineer, quality work is important to me (#1 priority) so I observed everything he did throughout the project from start to finish. All in all, he did a great job! It wasn't cheap by any means, but the finished product looks clean and professional. Thanks!

The FBT staff were top notch. They were responsive, provided a fair bid, really worked with us to find the tile that would match, and bent over backwards to finish all the repairs in time for the arrival of invited guests. My sense is that they do have many jobs so the fact that they took the time to really work with us, work within our schedule, and then were more than happy to fix/correct any problems that arose really says something about their INTEGRITY. Would definitely consider them for our next project which is a total remodel of our guest bathroom. The staff we came into contact with were: Mark, Jason, Julio, Omar, and Frank. All were a pleasure to work with.

FBT Tile & Marble is a first rate contractor. I had never engaged a contractor for work in my home before, so I was a little nervous. From the estimate to the finished project, everything was perfect! All members of the FBT team were responsive, thorough and professional. They took great care to protect my flooring and left the area clean at the end of each day. The crew gave a recommendation about the tile design which I hadn?t considered. I?m glad I listened; it looks great! I will definitely contact FBT Tile & Marble for future projects!

They did an excellent job. They gave me a good estimate and stuck to it. They showed up on time and did not collect payment until they were sure we were satisfied with the work. I would recommend them to friends and family.

The preliminary work required quite a bit of patience since I was dealing with an insurance claim. I needed to pick new tile to match existing cabinets, etc. and file the insurance claim. FBT was very helpful and worked with me to get that accomplished. The business staff was great. Mark answered my many questions preparing for the project. Once the project was begun, things went well too. The Project Leader, Jason, was great. He made sure I got what I wanted. The actual team doing most of the work, Nelson's, was great. They kept a messy job as clean as possible and the effort to clean up afterwards was fantastic. But most important - the quality of the work is beautiful. I would hire FBT again without hesitation.

They were very good, they did very good work, we had a number of issues that they were very good at working at, the owner was excellent, we still have one more issue and they have been very responsive at trying to bring that one to resolution.The project ran quite a bit over with issues. They had a problem with the materials not coming in or coming in wrong and so it was not their fault.

It was excellent. Particularly good with the way they tiled the floor and the walls. And I also had a sink that other people told me about. I went to other contractors and they told me that I would need a custom-made sink and they were talking about doing all these crazy stuff that I didn't like. We found the sink and we asked him about it and he said that he could fit it in, no problem. Everybody else didn't think that we couldn't fit it in. The company was very accommodating and they knew what they were doing. Also, there were 5 different contractors that I went to and all 5 of them pretty much didn't want to really hear what I wanted. Because I didn't exactly want what most people were pushing at the time. So the company listened to what I wanted and gave it to me. It's not that I couldn't have talked the other people into getting what I wanted but I just remembered how easy it was when the company listened to what I wanted and gave me what I wanted. They were listening to my needs instead of trying to make me fit their needs. There was one thing I didn't like however. I think the workers could have communicated better. All the paperwork that came with the supplies they left with them. The workers didn't communicate as well as I would've liked. Other than that we were very pleased.

Provided good quality and was on time for two-day bathroom floor project. Repairs were done neatly and cleaned up each day with minimum disruption to household. I purchased the tile and all labor intense materials like grout and cutting tools were provided by FEBT and cleaned up when completed. They left no debris outside or inside the house. They telephoned before coming to the house and were timely in response to any questions that I had.

FBT Tile & Marble installed a stone and granite tile backsplash over a 40 square foot area in our kitchen. From start to finish FBT Tile & Marble was the ultimate professional. When we called for an estimate appointment, they came the same day and we had the estimate within 3 days of the visit. We called 2 other companies for estimates, but FBT Tile & Marble was the company we chose for the job based on their response time and professionalism. The kitchen backsplash was completed in 2 1/2 days and FBT's workman impressed us with his expertise. He did an outstanding job in cutting and laying the stone and granite tile perfectly, the end result design was even better than we had imagined! We were also impressed at how FBT's workman was cautious to cover and protect all our granite counter tops and hardwood floor areas prior to the start of each day and clean-up was done at the end of the work day as well. We would DEFINITELY recommend FBT Tile & Marble they are a company that stands above the rest!

He came by, looked at the job for about 5 minutes. Asked no questions and did not listen to what we wanted. Wrote up a bid of which only half was pertinent to our renovation. He had the highest price of the bids we got. If you are not familiar with details of construction, be very careful of what is offered by this vendor.

Very well their price was reasonable, they did about a 180 sq ft area including a small power room with a toilet and sink that had to be removed and installed after the job. Was complete in two days and looks great.

Awesome experience. I found FBT through Angie's List. I had a tight timeframe as we were putting a house on the market and it was a small job -- something many contractors are not willing to touch. Mark Farewell called me immediately after getting my inquiry and came out to give me an estimate within a few days. He indicated they would put me in the queue with a special effort to get to me quickly. He lived up to his word. I was very impressed when Project Manager Jason Bauman came out to look at the job the week before the start date to ensure his crew had all the appropriate materials when they arrived. I can't tell you how many times crews have come out to do work and then had to take a short day because they didn't have what they needed. Jason's crew was prepared and ready to go from day one. During the job, the community unexpectedly shut off water... but the guys went to the pool house to get a bucket full of water to continue their work. Then, when the water came back on, the pressure caused a line in the toilet upstairs to come loose, spraying water out of the tank. The guys on the job heard it and fixed the problem. Thanks to their alertness, we avoided a catastrophe. The end result was a stunning new tile floor. Diligent, hardworking, polite... and definitely able to work around unexpected problems. I wish I could remember the names of the crew -- we have had many work crews in -- they deserve a special recognition as well.

The entire FBT Tile and Marble team are best in class. The team included Mark Farewell from FBT as the Project Manager, Jason as site leader, Amy Kelly from Mosaic Tile who was most helpful in matching tiles to rest of bathroom and incorporating accent tiles into the shower, De Shawna Vickers from Ferguson Enterprises, for the selection of plumbing fixtures, Jame Hall and staff from Stafford Glass for the glass recommendations and installation. The project started on time and completed on time and there were no surprises. The quality of workmanship was excellent - tile work, painting, exhaust vent replacement. The team cleaned up every day - they were perfect in all respects. FBT Tile and Mable has my recommendation for business. I plan to use them again.

The company did an overall outstanding job. During the planning phase the company sent us to knowledgeable staff members at well qualified suppliers with whom they coordinated closely. A member of FBT accompanied my wife to a granite supplier to aid in a difficult selection. The company?s workmen were clean, polite and did excellent work. The owner of the company visited nearly every day to personally review the status of the work. The company was especially attentive to our desires and regularly went the extra mile to insure we were satisfied in all respects. If you want a quality job accompanied by a high level of attentiveness and concern for your needs this the company to hire.

FBT Tile & Marble were last in a timeline of three contractors contributing to a major repair in our kitchen. We were pleased that they were able to schedule us in the day immediately after the company before them finished their work. It was great to get everything completed without having to drift into the following week. The tiling was carried out in a very professional way, we particularly appreciated the use of quick set adhesive and grout that allowed the job to be completed in a single day and that despite a late delivery of the tiles due to inclement weather.

The quality of work performed by the FBT team is excellent. Mark was extremely responsive to our questions throughout the process and worked closely with us to ensure we were satisfied with the results. It's worth pointing out that the extensive tile work done by Jason is some of the best I've seen. It's clear he take pride in his work and approaches it with great attention to detail. It might take a bit longer, but his results are definitely worth the wait. Overall, we are very satisfied with the work performed by FBT.

Frank and the team did an excellent job re-tiling two bathroom showers in our home, and coordinating glass shower doors for each. We moved into the house recently and quickly discovered water leaks. In fact, the master bath had only been built 6 years prior. Kept house clean, arrived when scheduled, very professional. They finished the first bathroom quickly so we would have a working shower. Thanks guys!

The master bathroom needed to be remodeled. We needed to repair a leak in the tub/shower area and the flooring around the toilet. The hall bathroom need the toilet, sink and exhaust fan replaced. FBT was very detailed in their proposal where other contractors were very vague. We were given points of contact with the vendors they utilized. From day one FBT personnel were very professional in their handling of our remodeling project. They covered the carpet with plastic to insure it was properly protected. They arrived on time everyday. The workers were very careful coming into and out of the house with materials and equipment. FBT addressed the problems and our concerns which arose during the project. The problems were normal to any major remodeling. Frank (the owner) took a hands on approach with project. He and Mark (project manager) actively worked the project when the need arose. We were satisfied with the pricing. We felt it was competitive with other professional remodeling firms. Frank and the crew worked with us to insure we had an operational bathroom at all times. All personnel from FBT were a pleasure to work with during the project. The project was completed on time. The master bathroom turned out beautiful with the new ceramic tile shower and flooring. We would definitely work with FBT again on future projects. Highly recommend FBT.

They were very prompt each day. On the first day, the estimator/manager arrived with his crew and materials in hand to verify that they had the right tile and to introduce me to his crew lead. We also checked the additional fixtures (soap dish, towel bar, and shelves) and they were incorrect (almond rather than white). This was addressed immediately. And we verified the grout. Good for the surround, incorrect for the floor. (These errors originated from the tile supplier, Mosaic. I had contacted Mosaic and notified FBT to get it corrected well in advance of the job, but the wrong materials were still sent out.) FBT was very quick to respond and pick up the correct materials and it did not interfere with the project for the day which was mainly tear down. The crew was very polite. They put down drop cloths to protect traffic areas and handled the fixtures (toilet and cabinets, sink and mirror) which would be reused carefully to ensure they were not damaged. They were careful with debris being removed and put up plastic dust guards to limit dust in the rest of the house. On Day two they completed repairs replacing those areas damaged by water including insulation, drywall, and sub-floor, and then tiled the surround and floor. On day three, they painted ceiling, walls, door and trim, grouted surround and floor, re-installed toilet, cabinets & sink, and replaced baseboard trim (I chose wood rather than ceramic baseboard that was there before. For those of you who have ceramic baseboard, if you have any water damage behind the tile, it did in my case follow the ceramic baseboard all the way behind the toilet to the cabinet. Had it been a wooden baseboard, I probably would have noticed the issue sooner and saved some cost of the repair. It will be my preference for all future bathroom remodels.) I recommend that you be there to review materials, verify layouts, address any questions or issues that come up. FBT was very good to communicate with me every step of the way to ensure that I got what I wanted and was apprised of any issues. Decisions were then made quickly and progress on the job moved forward without interruption. Do make sure that when you select your tile and products that the order is completed on the computer that day, so that you can catch any mistakes before they are made. Mosaic is very good with providing take home samples which I kept until the job was complete. This made it very easy to verify on day one that they had the right materials. The estimator/manager stopped by each day to inspect the job and the owner of FBT stopped by on day three to inspect the final results and make sure that I was happy with the work.

I was very impressed with this company. They came on time to every appointment and completed what other contractors told us was a two week job in three and a half days. The owner, Frank, was on site frequently and agreed to finish on a Saturday so that we could have use of the bathroom over the weekend. The workers were pleasant, relaxed, and worked efficiently. diligently, and quietly. They covered and protected the work area and cleaned up every day. The final clean up was excellent as well. The estimate was reasonable and there were no added charges. The referrals to pick out tile and plumbing fixtures were efficient and all supplies were ordered by FBT and on site on time The tile work is beautiful. I would strongly recommend FBT and will use them again.

I requested a quote from FBT Tile on Monday morning, and had a response from the office manager not long afterwards. That afternoon I received a call from Mark, a project manager. We scheduled a meeting for 7:30 Friday morning. I appreciate when people can schedule things that early, since it reduces the amount of leave from work I have to take. I ended up canceling the appointment only because another company that I had contacted for a quote was able to complete the work immediately, and since this was a situation that had been dragging on unfinished for 3 weeks, I was anxious to get it completed. I greatly appreciate FBT's responsiveness, and won't hesitate to contact them in the future.

See above. The job took one full day longer (4 days rather than 3) than anticipated, but I believe that was due to the detail work that was necessary and the care which was taken to get it right.

The entire process was relatively easy and straightforward. The guys came in every morning and cleaned up in the late afternoon and worked quietly and efficiently to get the job done. We will always call FBT to do our tile work!

I contacted FBT through Angie's list to get an estimate on turning one of our spare rooms into a bathroom. The sales person was personable and prompt however he promised to get a quote to me in about 7 days and it has been 3 weeks with no phone, email or other contact. It is quite possible that this type of work is beyond their comfort zone, but I would have appreciated some contact. I have updated my responses as the company has contacted me with a proposal and the owner has called to apologize for taking a while to get out to me.

They were also GREAT about getting the project done on an extreme rush basis: the house was empty that week but we were moving in the next week. They got a double crew to the house and finished this very large project in two long days! Mark suggested a tile store to work with, and he worked with them to get the tile over from Italy on a rush basis. I was a very high maintenance customer with lots of questions, lots of demands and very high standards, and they did wonderfully. And the work was top notch. It was very expensive, but I think it was well worth it for the quality of the work they did. We loved it so much that we actually had them come back a few weeks later to extend the tile around part of our bathroom, to and around the toilet. It looks spectacular. There were a few minor imperfections in the work: two tiles cracked where they installed the shower curtain, and there were a few cracks in a couple of tiles ? and they came back and fixed everything. The only complaint I would have was that their plumber discovered that there was a missing part in the overflow drain we purchased. Because it was a special order item that we could not obtain quickly the day of the project, he suggested an alternative part that he could get quickly. In the end, we were not happy with the look or the functioning of the replacement part, which was a much cheaper version of what we had ordered. Mark said it was no problem, we could order the part we wanted and they would replace it at no cost. We ordered the part and the plumber came a few weeks later to make the switch. Unfortunately, the plumber said that changing this part was actually a major project that would take several hours and also involved opening up the hole in the living room ceiling, which we had already closed up and repainted. We agreed to all this, still thinking that there would be no cost (since they hadn?t mentioned any change in our deal). It was only after they got started ? and opened up a new hole in the living room ceiling, that Mark mentioned that they would have to charge us for this, but he would give us a discounted (capped) rate. We were disappointed with this aspect of our negotiation. Nevertheless, we were extremely pleased with their work. I love how the bathroom turned out! I would recommend them highly to anyone, and definitely would like to use them again in the future.
