Furniture Medic by Karen is an independent family owned and operated Servicemaster Franchise that has been serving the Northern Virginia Metro Area since 1998. The company was started in 1998 by Karen and Brad Osman and is now owned and operated by their sons Erick and Mitchell who have been involved in the business since its beginning. Furniture Medic by Karen is different than most other furniture repair and restoration companies. Through Erick and Mitchell’s 14 years of furniture repair and restoration experience the Osman brothers have developed special techniques and use products that allow almost all of their services to be performed onsite at the customers home or business. This allows for the work to be done quickly and efficiently and the customer doesn’t have to wait weeks for their furniture to be delivered back to them. The onsite process saves everyone time and money. Furniture Medic by Karen will be happy to provide a free estimate to customers who send pictures of their damaged furniture. For an estimate, please send a picture of the entire piece of furniture with detailed pictures of the damaged areas. Including a common object in the photo next to the damage helps to determine scale so we can provide a more accurate estimate. A tape measure or a coin are are typical examples. Also Include a brief description of the damage, the overall dimensions of the piece, your name and contact information, and where the furniture is located. "After several moves with the military to our forever home, we wanted to have our furniture cosmetically touched up, as it had incurred some nicks and scratches, with a few faded areas from heavy use. Miller Restorations is a local furniture restoration facility. We offer in home touch-up and repair but our specialty is in fine wood furniture and antique refinishing, and restoration. We love working on antiques and learning about their history and restoring a treasured family heirloom. We do not take shortcuts as we take pride in putting our name on the pieces that leave our shop. We are able to come to your home for a consultation or you may bring the piece to us for a free consultation. If we go ahead with the work that day we waive the consultation charge or apply it as a credit if we come back at a later date. You will not be disappointed with the quality of work we can provide.
"A week before Thanksgiving 2022, our nephew sat down hard on one of our kitchen stools and broke a large support dowel, leaving the stool useless. We were hosting Thanksgiving dinner that year and needed every seat possible, and didn't have time to buy a new set. We called several shops in the area and the only one who responded before the holiday was Miller Restoration. Ann was incredibly responsive and asked if I could bring the stool in the next day. I met Ann and her husband Kevin, who is the restoration specialist. They are a wonderful couple who take pride in the work they perform. Kevin was able to build a custom dowel and make it like new in time for the holidays. And the price was far less expensive than buying a new stool. Fast forward a year and our nephew managed to break one of the other stools in the same manner. Again, we were up against the holiday clock. Ann and Kevin picked up the stool from our house and returned it after completely rebuilding it. We can't recommend them highly enough."
