Lions Fence

Richard and his team do excellent work--and at a price that left us wondering how the other quotes we received could possibly be so much higher. In the end, the quality and workmanship was top notch. We had one small issue with a non-working latch, and Richard himself eventually came out and fixed the latch and apologized for the issue. He is pleasant fellow that does reliable and reasonably priced work. Highly recommend him for your fencing needs Many of our neighbors have come by to ask about the fence and who installed it. This project provided a much needed "refreshing" to our back yard.

I called requesting an estimate and Richard was able to come out that same week on a day when I was at home. I explained what I wanted and he made up an estimate for myself as well as for my neighbor who was also interested in having the fence replaced. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable, answering all my questions as we went along. He explained how the posts would be set and why treated pine would be better to use than cedar in my situation. He recommended using 6x6 posts for the gate as opposed to the 4x4 posts that were there, for added stability. We clarified how much space his team would need along the fenceline to do the work and I cleared everything out of the way as best I could. I did have a few plants I could not move. Richard and two employees showed up at the agreed upon time. Richard went over things with his team and the men set to work. They worked throughout the day. I had pointed out the few plants that I was concerned about and none of them were damaged, which I really appreciated. I had requested a minor modification to the gate, and they also asked about the positioning of the latch on the gate before placing it. All modifications were completed as requested. Richard came by once or twice to check on progress and ensure that all was going well. They were finished with the entire fence by mid afternoon and everything looked great. They did a good job of cleaning up after themselves although they did leave one tool behind in the neighbor's yard that still needs to be picked up. Richard called that evening and apologized that he had not been able to come by to check on the finished fence due to other obligations but wanted to touch base and make sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. I let him know that I was very pleased with the work. I have received several compliments on the fence and am very happy with the finished result. All involved were professional, pleasant, skilled and courteous. I would not hesitate to use Lions Fence again and would recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Richard of Lions Fence came out to the townhouse and gave me a fair estimate, and date of when Lions Fence could perform the work. On the date agreed upon, Lions Fence was prompt, and professional. The job they performed was excellent.

the whole experience was trouble-free. everyone was pleasant to deal with. the estimate was considerably lower than 2 other estimates. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants fence work done. from my initial contact to completion of job was one week.

Best price. Fast service and great result. The communication was a little slow at times but the result was awesome. They most likely be the lowest bid but do not worry, the work is great.

Richard never left an estimate, never called, and never communicated after the initial call where I had contacted him. Needless to say, I was forced to look elsewhere for the fence.

We found Lions Fence because we saw a very nice looking fence in the neighbor's yard that they had done. We had a very clear idea of what we wanted--a horizontal board fence--which is not very common in this area. We had a very difficult time finding a contractors who was willing or able to do this type of fence. Fortunately, Richard, the owner of Lions Fence, understood exactly what we wanted and came up with a design that was competitively priced and the quality of the work was excellent. We are very pleased with the work and highly recommend Lions Fence.

Lion's Fence built our neighbor's fence, last year. We liked the job that they did for our neighbors and decided to go with Lion's as well. The fence looks great and although we have only had the fence for a few days, our family and dog have utilized the backyard together. Prior to the fence, our dog was up on the deck and couldn't be with us, lower in the yard. Lion's Fence was able to provide a double-wide gate so that I may take the lawn mower from the backyard to the front.

Lion fence was recommended to me and I was impressed with their reviews. Initial experieince was great. They came out took measurements. All fine. Then I never heard from them again. I called at least 5 times over a period of 2 months. I even emailed. No response. I can only guess that maybe our job was too small for them? I have no idea, but would have appreciated the courtesy of a phone call or an email.

Since moving here, I have had so much trouble with not only getting companies to call us back, but actually showing up to perform services. All we are looking for is a company that is honest, prompt, and direct. Lion's Fence is all of these things. I called and he was out to give us an estimate within the week. We had some treework to have completed (which they ironically didn't show up, but that's for another review!) so we requested that they put off our service for a few weeks. No problem, he said! They were literally there the day after we had the treework scheduled. It worked out perfectly. They arrived promptly in the morning and worked very hard throughout the day. The crew was friendly, professional, and didn't cut corners. I was very concerned about clean-up as a friend of ours found nails in her yard for weeks but they removed all debris that I can see! Finally, I feel like we've found a company that operates on repeat business and referrals... and they'll get that from us.

The work was completed in one day. The crew was fast and efficient, the work was of excellent quality, and the yard was cleaned of all debris and materials left over after the install. I played a bit of phone tag with Richard until we got an install date set, but I honestly don't care. I'm very satisfied with the work and service provided by Lions Fence, and I will be recommending Richard and his crew to anyone that asks.

I called Lion's Fence for repairs because my neighbor raved about how wonderful they were when the company built their fence several years ago. Richard came an hour late to look at the fence in order to give me an estimate. He was charming and pleasant and told me he'd drop the estimate off at my house the following day. Despite several phone calls, I never heard from him again. On my last call to him, I said, "If you're not interested in doing this job, just let me know and don't leave me hanging." I still never heard from him. In the Washington area, if you're responsive and can do a decent job, there is plenty of work to be done. I'm tired of contractors who don't show up, don't return phone calls, and don't do what they say they are going to do. Lion's Fence falls into this category.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Richard visited promptly and gave a fair price proposal. Crew was scheduled to perform the work about two weeks later. Since it's a large yard, a double crew of 4 arrived to do the work. Gary's double- crew arrived at the promised time and worked non-stop all day - didn't even stop for lunch or rest breaks. It was evident that these guys worked well together. Later, I found out they've worked together for 8 years. Everybody had their own jobs to do, but their efforts blended remarkably well and they'd readily help each other. Everything about them was professional. The quality of workmanship is excellent - everything is plumb - and the quality of the materials equally so - boards are straight. The yard was left neat and clean - the crew constantly picked up their construction debris as their work progressed. As a civil engineer in the construction trades, I' impressed and would highly recommend Lions Fence to my friends and relatives.

Great company. Richard came out promptly and provided an estimate and was the lowest of the three quotes we received. The team came on the date promised and did a great job replacing our old fence. They worked quickly and cleaned up completely after they were done. Could not be happier with our new fence and will gladly recommend Lions Fence to anyone looking for a new fence.

First contacted Richard the owner in Oct 2011, came out promptly and completed a bid for me. Price was quite a bit lower than the other bids, so I was happy with that. However, I called him several times to schedule and got no reply, so just decided at that point to leave it for the spring. In feb I called him again, he came out to do another walkthrough, we agreed on scope, style, and price- he just needed to rewrite the bid with the style changes. Told me he would drop it off in a few days- I called twice to remind him, and again he said he would drop it off, but never did. 3rd tie I left a message that if I didn't have it within 3 days I was going with someone else- I never heard back from him. I wanted to have the work done in March, and all of this back and forth took about a month, so having to go find another contractor really set me back on my schedule, and the whole thing with Lions Fence was a complete waste of my time. Would never recommend them- do not waste your time.

Lions Fence was a joy to work with from start to finish. Richard was very responsive in providing a prompt estimate. The morning of the job, Richard came over and made sure his 3-man crew knew what needed to be done. The crew did an excellent job and was very professional. They cleaned up the job site nicely and the fence looks fantastic! Would definitely use Lions Fence for future jobs and highly recommend them.

Having just adopted our new dog, we were in the market for a fence to enclose our yard. We received multiple quotes from several contractors. The owner - Richard Leitch - came out to measure the area to be enclosed and provided a quote shortly after measurement. He even included additional information that I mentioned I would need for our HOA application paperwork were we to chose Lion's Fence for the work. The price quoted was very reasonable. I called Lion's Fence after our HOA application was approved to arrange for the project start date discussed with Lion's Fence. Unfortunately, I did not get a call back. However, the very next Monday (the date I'd requested for the project to start) Richard showed up in person with his crew to start the build -- AWESOME! Richard explained he had been out on leave for the week. Right before the build started, I asked if they could build a double gate at the rear of the yard. Even though the materials for the original size gate were already delivered, Richard made it happen. The crew worked all day and completed the fence. They cleaned up all the construction debris and left the yard looking as it was when they started -- but with a fence. After six months, the fence looks great and all the gates are balanced and open and close very well. We are absolutely thrilled with the work and would definitely recommend Lion's Fence.

Richard, the owner was very professional, answered all of my questions and provided valuable information during our first meeting. His estimate was very competitive. The crew that did the work was respectful, skillful and cleaned up after themselves. The fence was well built and the work was completed within the time frame quoted.

Richard was very nice and was willing to work with us on options and suggestions. Once we hired his company and that's when the communication stopped. The fence is beautiful as expected, but they had to come back and fix the gate. They admitted that it was their mistake and they would fix it, but it took almost a month and several phone calls. Even though they did do some work on it, they never really fixed it, so we gave up calling. We called them back, but they never returned the calls. We left over 6 messages, even on his mobile. Overall they did a good job and what was expected of them, but so do most companies. We called references before hiring and they said the same thing... "That they do great work, but very difficult to get a hold of." I would have to agree.

Lion Fence did a nice job. We have a hilly, wooded yard and Richard took time to walk the boundaries with us a few times to determine what we wanted to do about things like trees on the fenceline. We had a last-minute change of plans regarding gates, and they happily accomodated us at no extra charge. The crew was took a day and half in very hot weather to install the fence. They were very professional and tolerant of my dogs sneaking out of the house to follow them around!

He is quiet and not full of extra energy, but very professional. We scheduled to have the fence done in early June and he had a family issue, so his wife called to let us know. The communication was great. He came out and measured before he did the work, and then a small crew came out and worked quickly and quietly. They cleaned up after themselves and they were very good about fitting the fence around large trees in our yard. He stopped by later and was very cool about the billing. Everything was simple, easy, and I have a beautiful fence.

Job went better than I had expected!!

Job went very well. A week's worth of rain necessitated a need to reschedule from the original installation date, but the owner gladly worked with me to accommodate a new date that met my requirements and schedule.

It went very well. They were on-time, and provided a great cedar fence estimate. The work was accomplished very profesionally with no supervision required by the owner. They stayed until they completed the entire project at about 7 pm from the morning when they arrived at about 9 am. We would recommend Richard and his crew, and are enjoying our new fence.
