iWe have wanted to replace the ugly "pink" sink in our downstairs bathroom for years. We found a very nice sink and faucet to replace it, but the new sink required cutting the ceramic tile counter top surrounding the sink, so it became a "next weekend" project that just didn't happen. I had a "Duh!" moment and realized that Crockett Home Improvement could do it, and the result would be professionally done. I called CHI on Thursday and asked if they could possibly squeeze me in in the next 2-3 days. They scheduled the job for Monday and showed up at exactly the appointed time. I showed the men the project, they asked a few questions and I left for work. I asked them to leave the house by the back door so I could come home at lunch at lock up. When I came home the project was finished, the bathroom was clean of all debris and it sported a shiny new sink; aside from a nice new sink, there was no evidence that they had been there. They also cleaned the drain line so it drains well (the first time in years). They didn't waste my time by calling to ask if I wanted the drain cleaned out, they just took the initiative to do it - nice. When my wife came home she was surprised and thrilled to see the new sink. Once again CHI delivered on their promise of a professional job, on time and very high "bang for the buck". We consider this project as money very well spent; I should have contacted them a long time ago and just left it to the professionals.

They did the estimate and then fixed our roof and gutters very quickly and efficiently. They were wonderful, very competitively priced and very fair. The work was so good we have this company in mind for other jobs we have planned.

I called Crockett Home Improvement to let them know we had some problems. They came and took care of them as soon as they could.

He has previously worked on my front porch where I had some rotting boards that needed replaced. I have also received a bid from him for plumbing. I would generally recommend him.

Bottom line: CHI did their usual superb work (we have engaged their services before) and we are delighted with the result. We think the cost was very reasonable, the project went smoothly and the house looks significantly better. Most important is that the rotten wood was replaced, the house is lower maintenance, the gutters don't leak and look great. The crew arrived the day after we agreed to the contract. They were very professional and courteous. They were very mindful of the dog (who we tried to keep indoors while they worked, to minimize their disruption) and kept the work area clear of debris which might harm her. At the end of each day they policed up the day's debris so the yard was safe for critters and people. During one of his inspection tours Mr. Crockett noticed a section of the porch beam was rotten too (it wasn't accessible for inspection before the crew began stripping the soffits), so he had the crew replace it as well - at no additional cost to us. After the seamless gutters were installed Mr. Crockett had the crew install aluminum gutter guards (not part of the original job specification, and we didn't think to ask for during the initial job appraisal). The gutters look great, the siding looks great and we're very happy campers. We have peace of mind, knowing that the gutters no longer contribute to rotting wood, the bad wood has been replaced and all the wood is now well protected for life, thereby significantly reducing maintenance efforts. And I'll never have to climb a ladder to clean the gutters (some local hi-vis football coach contacted the wrong company for his gutter guards!). We have engaged CHI previously and will continue to do so when the need arises. While CHI is not the cheapest company, they are, in our opinion, the highest value. You get what you pay for, and we didn't want a cheap job, we wanted a high-value job. I wish Angie's List had "Value" rating. That, in our opinion, is much more meaningful than cost. If they did, CHI would get an A+ rating. It is a relief for us to know that we can specify the work to be done, engage their services and know unquestionably that the job will be done well and no call-backs will be needed for rework.

It was done in one day, Crockett had someone there to work on it within days of our request. They checked the radon after it was done and it measured 1.5. The people who came in to do the job were nice and they cleaned up afterwards. George Crockett came out later to check their work.

I spent $14800 on that work. It turned out very well. I liked their professionalism and that they did the work that they said they were going to do and did quality work. They are not the cheapest ones in the book and I got what I paid for.

George was very respectful of our home, well-educated and informative. He always came over if we asked to see him and took care of any concerns we had. His employees are very capable of excellent work.

I was very impressed with the overall construction, speed and skill at which they put in the new deck. The construction surpassed my expectations, the quality of the materials is excellent, and the workers were extremely professional and courteous. They worked efficiently, and were finished before I expected. I would recommend Crockett Home Improvement to anyone who asked me about home remodels and repairs!

We had a water problem in the crawl space. Crockett installed drain tile in the back yard and sealed the block in the back of the house. The water problem continued and Crockett came back to install drain tile and seal the block in the front. We had to have a new sidewalk put in because the old one was torn out when the drain tile was put in. We ended up with a dry crawl space and a pretty new sidewalk that we really like.

My actual first expirence with Crockett was back in February of 2011, when several failed attempts to get a roofer out to repair a simple case of a ripped shingle led me to call his company. (I didn't know they did small jobs at the time) I called his company at 4:30 on a Tuesday, Wednesday morning his roofer and an assitant were at my house and repaired the roof in the rain in under an hour. From that point onward I was impressed with this company, and planned to use them from there on out as needed. Then came the tornado that came through the town of Pulaski VA. My home had taken some minor damange as mentioned above. Once the power company disconnected my line from my broken mast and I had removed the tree that fell over, I called Crockett out for an estimate on the repair. This was my first time dealing with an actual disaster, and the first time I had ever filed an insurance claim in my 10 years of home ownership, so I was rather clueless of what to do. Crockett has worked with myself and my insurance company, and helped make sence of this process every step of the way. He came to my house and reviewed my insurance settlement, and even found a light error on the insurance companies part that resulted in an extra $300 payout. He also gladly came by while the adjuster was out to offer assistance as needed in asssessing the damages. The first and most important repair was the meter mast. He sent his electrician Kevin to my house last in the evening with hopes to have my power restored by the weekend. Kevin was turned away by state troopers becuase of the towns temporary work permit requirement. However I met him downtown and drove him to my home to get his material list. Kevin returned the next day to repair the mast. It was ready for inspection by the weekend. The roof and the siding were still pending the insurance adjuster process, once completed we agreed to install a new metal roof on the house (I would pay the difference). Crockett ordered the roofing material immediatly, and the roof was installed within the week. My siding was aluminum and rather old, but he was able to match it pretty closley, and you really can't tell the difference unless you know about it upfront. The only difference was the new siding didn't have the wood grain. This was a small detail that Crockett and I both agreed on due to the insurance payout. (insurance wasn't paying for the entire house to be sided) The siding too about an extra week to get due to it's nature (aluminum, hard to find), once it arrived, his crew had the work done within a day. Now that this project is complete and my house is back to normal, I look foward to working with Crockett again on future projects. Among the most impressive attributes to Crockett Home Improvement is their communication. This was a rather big deal for me, and it was a great help for Crockett to keep the lines of communication open, he was very punctual, and returned phone calls. Something that is hard to find it seems like.

The front of my house was flooding. He dug around the house and added piping for drainage. He did great work.

The day of the work, the electrician became ill while working on the house and had to stop; other Crockett employees came in and made sure we had all of our vital systems connected (refrigerator, freezer, stove, TV, lights in the bathroom, etc.) so that we were not in danger of losing food and we could get through the night without any problems. The next day, the job was completed (except for labelling the breaker box, which was completed the following day). In the process of replacing the breaker box, old flourescent ligths in the lower level family room were blown out from old ballasts not being able to handle the upgraded voltage of the new system. After I purchased new fixtures, Crockett had them replaced, without expense, and now I have more light in the family room than I have ever had since I have owned this home. This is about the fourth or fifth job I have had Crockett Home Improvement do on my home. About half of the jobs have been planned work, the other half emergencies. In all instances, the work as been done with professionalism and been completed quickly and always at the quoted the price. Crockett Home Improvement is not the cheapest home improvment company in the NRV but its costs are not unreasonably high; and the work is always done correctly and to your satisfaction. I learned my mistake by tryng to go with another company, I will never use any other company but Crockett Home Improvement for work on my house. I trust George Crockett.

Great!!!! The best ever. Job was done on time.

He came in near the lowest bidder, but wasn?t the lowest. He was very quick in responding to any questions I had, quicker than anyone else. He is on Angie's List and has very good references, some of which I called. We chose him out 4 people. He did a lead test and found it in our paint. He had people trained to take precautions with lead paint. I have hired him to put windows in another apartment for me.

George drove me all over town trying to help me decide on the siding color and new door and window shutter colors. I really appreciated his help and patience. The contact was professionally done and easy to understand. He coordinated the start date to meet my work schedule. The crew was professional and pleasant. They were tidy and left no garbage or cigarette butts behind. They stayed busy while working on the job. My house looks great and the windows are so much better than the old ones. His office administrator was professional and expedited communications as needed. This project went much better than expected. He came to my attentioin via a verbal recommendation and I, in turn, would recommend him as well.

Crockett did an excellent job. They were fast, efficient, courteous, and friendly. The work was superior and craftsmanship well done. They were prompt in beginning and ending the job. They left everything nice and clean. We are very pleased and satisfied with a job well done.

First impressions are not always accurate. I called Crockett to remodel a house I had just purchased. He provided a very fast estimate and sent a crew out immediately. I was under the impression that he would handle my home as if it were his own. The work performed on my roof was exactly what I had asked for, soffet, facia, and shingles replaced in a small section. The bathroom was rearranged to my specifications, (toilet and sink moved) but the bathtub was installed ON TOP of my drywall. Instead of removing drywall and installing the tub surround to the studs, it was screwed into the sheetrock. The lip of the tub surround and screws were visible. While performing sewer work, a portion of my basement wall was knocked out to access pipes. A huge pile of dirt was left in my basement floor, and my wall left busted. A tree was cut down to perform sewer work, but then drug into my front yard and left for me to clean up. I had also asked him who he would recommend to bring a dumpster, as I was remodeling and had a huge pile of things that I needed to have hauled off. He said he would bring me one, and it would only be $500. He said that they would bring it in, leave it as long as we needed it, and would haul it to the landfill with permits and everything. (If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is!!!!) The dump TRAILER was the same size I see people haul four wheelers in, appx 5x7 or so.... It was left in my yard for seven hours. We were only allowed to put one bathtub and some wooden trim on the trailer before his crew stopped us from loading any more on it. They complained that if we put any more on the trailer, they would have to pay more to take it to the landfill (It was only about half way full). Mr. Crockett said he was sorry that there was a miscommunication on the trailer, but that was it, he offered no further remedy. I called Crockett to voice my unhappiness with his work. He said my boyfriend could just burn the tree (which he now denies), and sent someone to remove the dirt and install window trim over top of the tub surround.I sat and stared at this mess that his company had left for me to clean up, and i finally contacted him AGAIN to fix his inadequate repairs while threatening to report him to Angie's list. He sent the same crew out immediately to fix everything I was unhappy with, and this time with a supervisor. The tree was sawed up and hauled off, the wall in the basement was repaired, and they built the wall up around the tub surround. The third and final time the work was performed, it was performed to my satisfaction. If the work had been done in this manner the first time, his ratings from would be much different. Personal opinions don't account for much, so I'll keep mine short. I felt as if I was just another paycheck to him. He NEVER bothered to check the final work, not once of the three times his company was called. The only time he came to the house was when he felt he could perform another estimate for more work. I felt like an idiot when I called him to complain. I have been told that he has multiple crews working for him at any given time, and I was sent one of the most unprofessional crews he employes. I pointed this out to him, and he told me in so many words "it was probably some yellow bellied crew member I fired that is scared to say something to my face"... I was unsure of whether to post this review, but I thought if I had been smart enough to join angies list and I had read a rating like this one, I might have second guessed my choice on Crockett Home Improvement. I would have had a lot less frustration and aggravation during the summer.

This is my first experience with Crockett Home Improvement and I was completely satisfied. Mr. Crockett is very professional and, if this experience is any indication, really knows how to run his business. The crew was great. Professional but friendly, attentive to details, unobtrusive, neat and clean, organized, on time, maintained excellent communications throughout. I have absolutely no complaints. Good final walk-through to be sure everything was complete and done to my satisfaction. I was thrilled with the entire process, from estimation to the final walk-through, and will be calling Crockett again soon for other projects.

Mr. Crockett performed all required services in a timely manner considering we still had to deal with the remaining snow left from the storms of 2009-2010. He performed all required services in a timely manner. All phone calls and e-mails were returned promptly. We were kept informed of the work progress throughout the entire process. The work performed was top quality. Mr. Crockett did a review of the work with us to be sure we were satisfied before the job was closed out. We would definately use Mr. Crockett in the future and not hesitate to recommend him to others.

It went wonderfully,They arrived early and worked very hard daily until the job was complete. They cleaned up my yard and hauled the debree to the dump. They did everything required and even more. I would absolutely recommend this Company to anyone that wants their job completed in a diligent and professional manner.
