I'm glad to hear that you are happy with our work and I am positive that your new heat pump will provide you with years of comfort. I was sorry to hear about the work that one of our so-called competitors did previously. Sadly, there are many companies out there that just care about the bottom line in their pursuit of the mighty dollar. To often, companies that do that sort of unprofessional work just really don't care about their customers. Some of the big players in the area are like that. This is my family business and we care about our work, our reputation, and (most importantly) our customers. Thank you for taking the time to let other people know about our company. :)

Description of Work: Jerry from Stokley's came out to inspect our upstairs and downstairs HVAC units. This was no cursory inspection! Jerry spent an hour looking at the systems inside and out, a peek under the crawl space, plus killing off a wasps nest that had begun inside of the grill of one of the outdoor units. I feel confident that our systems were thoroughly inspected and we now have added a service contract so that we will have priority service and a discount if we have any issues.

Thank you so much for the wonderful words of praise. We are very proud of Jerry as well as all of the people that work here. Thank you also for pointing out something that I have, to date, failed to talk about. Whether we go out to service a system on a "Maintenance Agreement" or a special "Clean and Check" we do a FULL system service. We do not just "check"" the system and then charge more to clean it: WE CLEAN THE SYSTEM! If we find a problem that a cleaning will not resolve, we will inform the customer of our findings and see if they want to address the problem at an additional charge. We do not pressure anyone. Please keep in mind, almost all of the local HVAC companies in the area pay their people by commission only. If the tech doesn't sell you something they don't get paid. They are under a tremendous amount of pressure to sell you something. Our guys are paid by the hour. Yes, they do get a small commission if they sell you something, but that is not a major contributing factor in their pay. The idea is that the hourly pay keeps them honest and the commission keeps them diligent. If anyone ever says that my guys didn't do something we will make it right. Now if that person says something so outrageous that it makes me think twice as to whether or not I think that they are merely trying to get something for free I will require some form of verifiable evidence. I know the work that we do is better than our competitors and I know the integrity of my guys. We may make a mistake occasionally but we are not negligent and / or dishonest.

I wish that I had better news for you but I don't. When you called last summer we were in the middle of a very oppressive heat wave. Our records indicate that we replied within 24 hours. Your compressor, which is essentially the heart of the air conditioning system, was stuck. The unit - which we did not install - was an inferior brand and past it's life expectancy. There was nothing we could do to help you. Please keep in mind that the service that you purchased was less than the cost of our standard service call. I'm really not sure what we can do to clean, service, and test a system that is beyond economical repair. Again, I wish that we had better news for you.

Description of Work: They looked at my heater and did some minor cleaning. They checked to make sure that the heater was working. They explained to me how my heater worked and told me it was in good condition for its age. It was a wonderful experience.

I'm glad that you had a positive experience with our company. My tech even told me that he enjoyed talking with you and that you were very nice. :) On a different note, I have to tell you that you have the oldest furnace that I have ever seen or heard of: it's over 40 years old! Your air conditioner is also very old. Both units are working although we are not really sure how or why. Changing them out with a new system will greatly improve your efficiency and save you a lot of money on your operating cost: at least 50%!!! Please make plans on replacing your system in the very near future.

It is definitely past it's life expectancy though. I'm not saying that it has to be replaced immediately, but it is an excellent time to save some money. No one really wants us around during the Holiday Season so we lower our prices to keep the guys busy. Give us a call if you're interested. I'm glad to hear that you were happy with our service and you would use us again. I would like to remind you that you system is getting very hold and your heat exchanger is starting to show signs that it will be breaking down soon. If this happens you will be dumping carbon monoxide into your home and this can be deadly. If we had actually found a crack or cracks we would have had to disable your furnace so that you could not use it. I would HIGHLY recommend that your furnace sooner rather than later. At the very least, I would recommend that you buy a carbon monoxide detector for your house. This will give an alarm when it senses the carbon monoxide indicating that your heat exchanger has cracks in it and needs to be replaced.

It was pretty obvious that you are taking good care of your HVAC systems but I would like to suggest relocating your dryer vent exhaust. The lint can accumulate on your air conditioner and have multiple adverse reactions on the system.

Thanks for the kind words and the nice review. You have a good system that should give you years of great service. I am concerned that one of the units was a little low on refrigerant but that could be from just putting on the gauges to check the pressures. This is one reason we don't like checking the pressures unless there is an indication that there may be a problem. Please keep an eye on it and call us if the system starts to have problems in the a/c mode.

Your system is only 4 years old but it doesn't look like whoever had been working on them hasn't been doing a good job. Please consider having us service your system on a regular basis, at least once or twice a year, and perhaps we can save it. A little TLC will keep it operating (with less breakdowns), operating more efficiently, and help it to last longer. Please give us a call if you have any questions.

I am also glad to know that the work we did at your home has managed to keep you comfortable through the summer months. Please keep in mind that we did not fix anything, we merely added refrigerant. You were very low on refrigerant so I must think that there is a fairly substantial leak that still needs to be found and fixed. Actually, I am a bit surprised that your system is still working properly considering how low it was on refrigerant. Since you have a heat pump system, keep an eye out for a couple of things. First, check your thermostat regularly to make sure that the system does not keep going into "emergency heat" or "auxiliary heat": this will cause your electric bill to increase sharply. Secondly, keep an eye on your electric bill for higher than normal bills. Both of these things are an indication that the unit is not working properly and that it is probably low on refrigerant again. If you notice either one of these things please call our office immediately.

Thank you for the kind words: we aim to please. Please keep in mind that your system is very old and is in desperate need top be replaced in the very near future. I know that often it may not be financially practical or the timing may not be convenient because of all the extra things that we do during the holiday season, but this is a very good time of the year to have your system replaced. As we get closer to the holidays most people don't want to bother with having their heating and air conditioning system replaced. Believe me: I understand. That being said, we try to keep our guys busy (so they can have money to spend on their families) and we can install systems for a lower price. Usually the work doesn't cost as much as many people think and can usually be done in a day or two. Please give me a call if you are interested.

THANK YOU so much for the "A" rating. I remember your a/c died in the very beginning of the incredible heat wave that we had last summer. When we have a sudden spike in temperatures, such as we had last year, we (and every other A/C contractor, are inundated with calls for "No air conditioning." We try are best to service everyone promptly: this often means working long days with late hours - including the weekends. We also normally waive our overtime rates too. I clearly remember your a/c dying and needing to be replaced. You couldn't use a window unit that we wanted to provide. We even offered to purchase a special portable a/c to help you out (at no charge) to help out. I was so shocked that you declined. You had to endure the heat until we could replace your system on the weekend. You were not only understanding, you were very patient and gracious. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful person!!! :)

Thank you for the great report card and I am happy that you are pleased with our work. Unfortunately you have a system that needs some attention. Someone put a newer air conditioner onto an older evaporator coil that it is not designed to work with. Yes the system is working but the longer that you continue to use it the more harm you are doing to the new air conditioner. Now your system has a refrigerant leak. The odds are highly likely that it is in the old evaporator coil but you should really have it looked at before the warranty on the new a/c expires.

I'm glad that you were happy with our services and thank you for the nice grades. Your system is fairly new but it looks like they haven't been taken good care of since they were installed. You should really think about signing up for our Maintenance Program. The program is designed to keep your HVAC equipment clean and operating at peak efficiency while also trying to spot a problem before it happens and increasing it's life expectancy. Every machine needs some TLC if you want to keep around for a while.
