Great. Cooling my house well

First of all, after my three carefully chosen appointment dates and times had passed with no contact, I looked up the number and called them. I was told they do not receive contact information from Angie's List, so they just wait for you to call them. I was asked why I had purchased this offer and I proceeded to tell him that when I had my heat pump was repaired in the winter, I was told that I should have someone look at my AC in the summer, that it probably needed about a pound of refrigerant. When Angelo arrived, he first told me that he really should be charging me for a service call since I reported a problem when I called. I told him that I only wanted the service that I paid for. So then he proceeded to argue with me for 10 minutes that the previous tech would have no way of knowing that the unit needed refrigerant. I finally took a deep breath and said can you please just look at the unit. He glared at me for a long time and grudgingly began his work. I considered asking him just to leave at this point. He left clumps of mud all over the area as he did not wear shoe covers, dirty hand prints on the wall, although I was the first appointment of the day. He asked me about the size of the air filters, but never looked at them or replaced them. He told me I needed between 2.5 and 5 pounds of refrigerant at $200 a pound. When I asked how he would know how much I needed, which was a question I probably asked 20 times, he responded the same way each time: Depends on the ambient temperature. And he would elaborate, if it's over 100 or under 30 degrees outside, blah, blah, blah. So I would say, well, we know that it's 85 degrees today. How will you know how much refrigerant is needed? Depends on the ambient temperature. What?! I had such a headache when he left. He never went to any other areas of the home so it was easy to sit at my desk and watch what he was doing. When he was done, I asked why he didn't do the things listed on the Angie's list offer that I had pulled up on my computer and showed him. The one he said he did and dug the antimicrobial tablets out of the bottom of his bucket...for the first time...and claimed he used them, but he didn't. All the other things, he said he couldn't do because I did not pay for the increased refrigerant so the unit is not correctly pressurized. Probably true for some of the items, but not all of them. He made me sign a paper that basically said that even had I paid for the refrigerant, the only reason an AC unit ever needs refrigerant is because there is a leak or leaks, and I need to pay for a leak diagnosis service call to determine where. And even if a leak is fixed, there's no guarantee there is not another leak and the refrigerant will continue to leak out, so I really just need to replace the whole thing if it needs even a pound of refrigerant. Then why offer this service? Even before he looked at the unit, he was trying to sell me a new one.

Technician was on time, very friendly and respectful. He was doing the maintenance check up until he noticed that the compressor was not working properly (first time turned on this season). He tried a couple of things and could not get a good reading. We had to replace the entire system at a later date.

We realized our A/C was not working early this morning and called to see if someone could come out and look at it. The gentleman on the phone was courteous and told us that they were pretty busy today but would call us when someone would be coming over to look at it. It only took a few hours before we received the call. Jerry was the technician and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He knew exactly what the problem was right away. He told us that we would also need to replace our unit very soon because it was really old. He also looked at our heating unit to see if we needed to replace that as well but he said it was good to go. I will definitely be calling back for any heating and cooling services I will need in the future.

They were the best guys that came out. They were very good and professional. It was really hot the guy was able to come and fix the part that was broken and it was all I needed and I signed up for their yearly service. They were great. They took the time out to come and it was the last call.

The guy who came, the technician is real good. He was able to get the air conditioning running because it was low on the refrigerant. It has been a couple of weeks now and it’s still running. So he did fix it. The thing that I didn’t like about it was the way the deal was written because it tells you that they give you I guess a check and one kind of a refrigerant and he did have to put in four of them. I didn’t really expect that so that was the thing written in the Angie’s List advertisement. But I’m not giving a bad shape about it because he made the air conditioner running. The gentleman was really nice. I think I have used them before for something else and they were pretty good. I paid about an additional $200 apart from the $59 big deal.

Technician was very pleasant, efficient and professional. He inspected and cleaned the indoor unit and then did the same to the outside unit. When he was done, we discuss maintenance suggestions.

Fantastic service. They were able to get us in quickly, arrived on time, and did exceptional work. We were having issues with our A/C compressor not responding to start signals from the controller, so we were looking for someone who could repair the unit as well as perform the preventative maintenance. When a broken wire was found to be the source of the issue, the technician was able to repair it for a very reasonable price and with great attention to detail regarding outdoor protection for the repaired area.

Found that the Freon (R22) was 2 1/2 lbs. low - the big deal I purchased included 1 lb. free. Filled it up and cleaned it, inspected it, etc. and it is good to go! Nice cold air! The technician was awesome. Very friendly and very informative.

I purchased a HVAC service and tune-up from Stokley Services through Angie's List. I had never used them before and so I didn't know what to expect. I was very impressed with every aspect of the customer service I received from Stokley Services. From the rep who called to schedule the service, to their knowledgeable technician, Jerry, I was extremely satisfied. I would highly recommend Stokley Services and I will use them again in the future if I need any HVAC maintenance or repair.

Great experience from beginning to end. All aspects were professional and thorough.

These folks are great! Last week when our air conditioner stopped working.....and it was very hot. I immediately went to Angie's List and found Stokley's Services. They were extremely busy on this day, but promised to get to us before the end of the day. And they were true to their word. They sent their Technician "Jerry", who was very courteous despite the long, hot day he had experienced. He fixed our problem very quickly. We will definitely use this company for all our future heating/air condition problems.

They were great. Agreement was for one unit @ $ 59.00. Serviced the second unit for the same amount. Spent considerable amount of time here, more than I expected for the discounted price. The technician was extremely professional and courteous. We are very glad that we called them and already used them again for another problem. We had been using another company that we use to buy oil from and when we converted it seemed their heart was not in it. Asked for additional service and never followed up. I would recommend Stokleys Srrvices to all if you want honest professionals.

Technician was friendly and knowledgeable. Did a great job cleaning up the outdoor unit, even though the hose was on the other side of the house and he had to carry water by hand. The only issue was on his first visit he indicated that the refrigerant level was normal and did not add any. The first time I used the system a few days later it wasn't cooling. The company got him back out promptly even though it was the beginning of cooling season and they are super busy. On the second visit the technician did find that it needed some refrigerant, but did not charge me for the visit or the refrigerant. Now the system is blowing cold. Will call Stokley's again in the future next time I need service.

The visit and check of my system went fairly well. My chief concern is that too often a Big Deal becomes a larger deal in the end. These offers with their inviting prices, becomes a gatew,ay to cost much more expensivTe. called myself taking advantage of this particular deal that was priced at 59.00. The offer was very inclusive and it even included a Free pound of coolant for the system, however I still had to come out of pocket an extra 135.00, and that was after putting a limit on the amount of extra coolant I'd pay for. So a 59.00 Beg Deal cost me about 195.00. I question was it a deal at all....

Did a fantastic job! Did some maintenance on the air handler and provided feedback for my home warranty company. Was punctual and did a thorough job! Would definitely use them again.

I ended up not getting the service performed at the owner's recommendation. After speaking with him on the phone, he told us that he didn't think that the service was necessary at this time. I appreciated his honesty and that definitely made me amenable to using him in the future when the service is needed. He was very professional.
