Quality Built Exteriors

Work went very well. Torn down and removed all the old fence materials and installed the new. Had some tree limbs causing issues so they cut them down as well. I not only would use them again but I already have on several occasions.

We used Mike Reedy after he did a great job at a very competitive price for our friends one block away. Very competitive price. Plus covered a basement access small roof that was not in scope, at no additional charge. Knows the job and specs and materials, and will tell you about them ad nauseam if you want to listen and need that much detail. Overlap over gutter was a consistent and perfect 1 inch around the entire 240 plus ft of roof perimeter. Trim and waterproofing against the brick was thick and robust yet not unsightly. Timely replies and responses to questions and texts (huge plus, very reassuring). Friendly, courteous and incredibly hard working roofing team. Good clean up at the end of the job. Cons: None. Suggestions only. cleanup at the end was meticulous, but since job was huge it took two days that first night paper and plastic was blowing around. Recommend to these great folks to do some reasonable picking up of debris that can blow around as the work progresses, particularly from one day to the next, while saving the detailed cleanup for the last day. Also, we had a small tree get a bit hacked up from the falling debris, so if your prize roses are in a garden against your house, you should take steps to protect them or talk about it with the roofers prior to the work. Great job.

It was alright. The company was at the home for about 2 hours and did a good job cleaning up.

They were just okay. It was not fabulous. There were other charges on top of the big deal. It was not a great quality touch to put the fan into the roof and it didn't look that good, so I wouldn't have them back. It seemed to work fine after that, but it didn't look the greatest so I had my own electrician come and do some stuff.

TJ arrived at scheduled time. Estimated what need to be done, window caulking was good, so the front and back doors insulation was replaced. Due to paper work being misplaced and the rain delayed my completion date. I would hire and recommend the company to others. I was given a ball park estimate for replacing a window at a later date. TJ is very personable and explains everything which will take place.

The contact for my requested date(s) of service was promptly returned. The deal was for 1 door and 10 windows (winterizing) TJ came out and analyzed the job. I told him I didn't need the windows done and could we do another door and he complied without hesitation. He came out the next week and did the work. He was held up in arriving but called me twice to keep me up to his status which I so appreciated and the time difference really wasn't that significant. TJ discovered due to the jams on my doors he needed different weatherstripping and a door sweep. He ran to Lowe's and promptly return. He ran into problems that were our own household problems. For instance, due to replacing the kitchen floor a couple times with linoleum and then a bad tile job, the sweeping area of the door was uneven. He advised how to adjust the sweep once the door was shaved (which was not in the realm of the contracted job) so that was fine. The front door had settled and was probably poorly hung years ago, again, a problem he couldn't fix without rehanging it or replacing it and again, not in the scope of the contracted job. He still weatherstripped it but there was still a gap at the top which he said he'd come back and put something there to close it but he didn't have it on his truck. He needed to leave town to visit his ailing grandmother and he's not even back, yet he just called to tell me he didn't forget me and will be here as soon as he can get back in town. TJ was courteous, conscientious, forthright and honest and did the best he could with the problems he had to work with which were no fault of his. I believe for $199 I got my monies worth and will use Quality Built Exteriors again if a job arises that is in their scope (which is a lot!!)

The service went fine. They were very responsive and came out few days after the deal was purchased. One technician came out and completed the job in less than half a day. He took care of everything and was efficient. The fan works just fine and I got what I paid for. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

All went well. Price was very reasonable - lower than other estimates for same level of work. Mike Reedy was very good at communicating with me. I am living overseas and communication was very important. I was very confident in the company's professionalism based on Mike's visit to the property and the roof looks good from the photos I've seen.

We posted a request for a quote on a Friday morning with two providers on Angie's List. That afternoon I received an email response from Mike with Quality Built Exteriors, a while later he called to set up an appointment. I scheduled the appointment with him for two weeks later, the day before our appointment Mike called to confirm our appointment. The following day he called because he thought he might be 5 minutes late due to a freight train just a few miles up the road. 5 minutes later he was at our home. Mike spent 2 hours talking to us, measuring the fence and discussing options and services. He was very through and polite. He as there was some question as to the cities new fence installation code, Mike called the city permit codes compliance office and spoke to them about the question. They asked him to speak to an inspector the following week. Mike said he would follow up and call us back. The following Monday, Mike called to say he had met with the inspector, resolved the issue and obtained the permit so that the city could not change their minds if we decided to use him for the fence. We looked at two other contractors, one was too expensive for the same work and the other took a week to return our post, and then when he did show up spent all of 15 minutes to give us a quote and took another few days to send me it via e-mail. Both this quote and Quality Built Exteriors were within $150 of each other. We decided to use Quality Built Exteriors. We called Mike he, came over and got the contract signed, and had the materials delivered the next Sunday afternoon, work began the following Tuesday as agreed (I asked him to wait one day so I could meet his crew and go over the project with them concerning our agreement with the neighbors. The demo-ed the fence, put up the new one, corrected any deficiencies quickly, communicated with us daily, clean up daily and were very good people. Since it took longer than they planned they worked through the weekend to get it done. I felt like I had two new friends by the time they finished. Very professional and skilled. I can say it is the best looking fence in the area.

I honestly can't tell you how it went. However the initial contact was great! I was impressed with the responsiveness, the quote for the work was okay and the gave me a discount for being apart of Angie's list. But it fell apart. Once the contract was agreed, I didn't hear from anyone. Work was being done, but I knew nothing, nobody contacted me, they said they would start on one day they started on another, which alarmed my tenant because they were unaware also. I was told by the tenant that they painted the siding to match, they wore shorts and flip flops. Again, I knew nothing UNTIL, I was checking my bills and noticed I was charged for a completed job! That had NOT been completed!! Gutters weren't on!! So when I called, it was a he said she said story, but again NOBODY CALLED ME! I'm the owner, not the tenant and I'm the one that paid, upfront and again without notification or AUTHORIZATION. This was not a pleasant experience.

Our old cedar fence needed to be replaced so we called Quality Built Exteriors for an estimate. TJ came right out and took measurements and left a quote which we accepted and paid 50% down. The recent rain set the install date back a bit, but the weather is not under our control so that was not a problem. The materials were delivered the day before and the pallet was placed in our driveway by a very friendly man from TLO. The cedar smelled like Christmas! Yesterday morning around 8:30 a team of hard working, strong, friendly people arrived and took down the old fence. There was a tree growing smack in the middle of the old fence which my husband took down as far as he could with the fence in the way. Ron completed the job right down to the ground after the fencing was removed. Danny was like a superhuman in strength and stamina, working tirelessly all day long, along with another energetic young man. They strung the line and sunk the posts with 80 pound bags of cement in each hole and took a quick lunch break. By 5pm the new fence was finished, and then scalloped as requested. The difference it makes is phenominal and yes, it does smell so much like Christmas I go back there and take deep breaths and smile! The old fence was taken away by another team of two very hard working people, leaving our yard even better than they found it. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional job done with people who really care.

Loved the work. The sales rep that came to the house did not have a clue about what the Angie's List provided. Tried quoting us for a gate that was already included in package. Had to pull up Angie's List to show him what was included. The actual workers were wonderful. Our neighbor liked the work so much that he hired them the next day to do some gate work.

He was very friendly and competent. I will be using him again as we are on the Chesapeake Bay and are constantly losing shingles and siding to storms. In an aside, a contractor working on a fireplace removal job, called in Quality Built Exteriors as a subcontractor to complete their job here. The man from Quality recognized me and remembered working on the condo unit before. Nice people and finish the work they start in a timely fashion.

Fan was installed, with no problems at all.

It went well. They nailed some shingles back down. They were very professional and they did a good job.

Price was very reasonable for the quality of work that was done. Job was completed as promised except that the Contractor quoted us a 3-day time frame, but actually took six; however, it was not a major inconvenience for us as the men took their time and did a good job. They covered places above the gutters to keep birds from entering the attic & replaced a few spots of bad wood. Overall, we were pleased with the workmanship. The 2-man crew was polite, clean and cleaned up the yard when they completed the job. Our house looks much nicer now with brand new white-clad windows and we will not have to paint anymore.

Larry was terrific! He was on time and very professional and knowledgeable.

Scheduling was fine and they did a great job. The costs were a little more due to the square footage. A team of approximately 6 completed the work in a day and a half. Communication with them was fine.

The fence installation was performed in a very professional, high quality manner. The installation team arrived on time and quickly went to work removing the old metal fencing. The installation of the new fence was accomplished in a very proficient manner. Unfortunately, there was a shortage of materials which prevented completion of the work that Friday. The team leader Ryan Oldham arranged for the additional materials to be avaiable the next day and he arrived early that next morning to complete the installation. Ryan was very professional and courteous throughout the entire job, and we were very impressed by his knowledge and dedication to ensure we were 100 percent satisfied. We would certainly recommend Ryan for any future work. Following completion of the job, the owner Mike personally inspected the job to ensure we were completely satisfied. Overall we were very pleased and satisfied with the professionalism and quality of work performed. We highly recommend Quality Built Exteriors.

Everything went fine until after the work was finished. I received a letter from the city for a zoning violation. It stated that I developed land without first obtaining all appropriate permits or development approvals, and complying with their terms and conditions. The explanation that Mike (the owner) gave me was that he called the city a few years before and they stated he didn't need a permit. Well this is 2014 and things change. All he had to do was pick up the phone and call the city to find out if a permit was needed. Now he is causing me undo stress because he didn't do his job. He also stated that the fence may have to be pulled up. After talking to him about the situation Mike calls me back and asks me who did the front of my yard. He's so worried about who installed my front fence instead of getting my situation with the back fence corrected. I am still waiting to hear from him. I am so frustrated with the owner that at this time I cannot and will not recommend Quality Built Exteriors to anyone. At this time I give him an "F". Now I wish I had gone with another company. I will share another review once this situation is corrected! June 23, 2014 The company response is a lie. I went to city and they stated he walked out and refused to file any paperwork on the work he had done (6' privacy fence). Paperwork still needed to be filed which he refused to do. He called me with a lie and said everything was fine. When I went to city they said he didn't do anything. I had to do it myself. He is just upset because I had someone else do my front yard. He was overpriced and he knows it. I have paperwork from where I went to the city myself and filed the proper paperwork (signed and dated by the city and by myself for 6' fence). He needs to stop lying and own up to his mistake. I will not recommend his business to anyone that I know. Other companies that deal with him are even changing their policy of how they deal with him. If he's not going to do the proper paperwork and lie about what he does then he doesn't need to be in business nor does he need to be on Angies List. Choose someone else!!
