Had a good meeting with the rep which produced an estimate. We called back to change the size of the boards and were told we'd have a new estimate. We never received the second estimate and went with another company.

Had a great experience with the office manager, Amber. She was there when I needed something answered and took care of my every need. She demonstrated great customer service and because of her I will have no problem referring this company to others. The install was a little slow but they made sure to get it right and kept me in the loop throughout the week of installation. Great company to consider if you need home improvements. Amber was simply the best.

Excellent. The price quoted was reasonable. They showed up as scheduled and completed within the estimated time. The workmanship of the crew was outstanding. I could not be happier.

Overall, the project went well. The work was completed quickly and on the date specified. There were some minor issues but they were addressed to my satisfaction.

I was really pleased with the prompt response and can-do attitude of the sales rep at first. The contract was to be for indoor remodeling of stairs and opening up a storage room removing a hot water heater and installing a tankless water heater. My schedule changed the day after signing the contract which made interior remodeling impossible. We altered the contract to include the new tankless hot water heater and the exterior stair replacement instead. The price had to be adjusted down but the job proceeded. It was my fault I did not shop the job with other contractors, but believed the commercial when Angie promised fair pricing. I told the salesman I wanted his best price. I was led to believe the work would be completed by his employees. Then a plumbing sub-contractor showed up and I accidentally found out that I was being charged a 100% markup on the plumbers work. Then I believe I was gouged further on the price of the outdoor front landing and stair combo. It was what I considered a small job and although the actual quality of the work was satisfactory, I can not help but feel that the salesman jacked up the prices due to my being a disabled woman who had to change the scope of work. I sincerely urge extreme caution using this company. I would be careful not to upset the salesman as you may end up paying a premium for his attitude adjustment.

The entire process was excellent. I received a call from the company within one day to schedule an estimate appointment. The installer should up on time and completed the work within the given time period. I am happy with the work and love my new fence. Will definitely higher them again for another project.

Bottom line up front: I would never use Quality Built exteriors again and I would never recommend them. They were too expensive to begin with, did a really poor job and caused me to lose two days of work, as well as the added expense to wrap the chimney for Hurricane Joaquin . I believe the owner Mike Reedy may be a stand up guy but he doesn't have control of his workforce. I contacted Quality Built Exteriors (QBE) through Angie's List in early August of 2015 and met with Thaddeus H*****, a foreman with Quality Built Exteriors (QBE), who came to my house to survey the job and provide an estimate for work. I pointed out the weathered and damaged cedar clapboard siding and corner trim I wanted repaired and/or replaced. In addition to all rotten cedar planks and corners, I specified two areas that needed attention: The chimney of my home that needed to be re flashed with tin and new siding installed (because it leaks), and new siding in a section of the garage where a walk in door was removed. The quote of $5,775.00 seemed high, but based Mr. H*****'s assurance that any issues would be resolved, I contracted with them to do the work as soon as possible and paid the full amount of $5,775. My second mistake: never pay the full price up front. It took approximately three weeks for the work to begin because QBE claimed to be waiting for delivery of the material. Two workmen arrived on Friday, September 4th to begin the job and left sections of the house uncovered over the weekend to begin the work again on Labor Day, Monday September 7th. I immediately had issues with the quality and craftsmanship of the work. I tried to relay my concerns to the workers, but I was unable to because neither of them spoke English, and their supervisor was not there. I took pictures of the repairs I was unsatisfied with an email to Mr. H*****. The work was awful. The angles were incorrect; the butt ends of the clapboard were different from the rest of the house; they saved money by cutting in 2 and 4 foot sections of trim board; the sections of cedar clapboard replaced were really poorly cut in and asymmetrical and they missed entire sections of rotten wood. The same workers returned on September 9, 2015, re-did the corner trim but left the other areas untouched. Again I emailed a picture of the sections I wanted redone to Mr. H***** and stated he himself would not allow such poor work on his house. I told Mr. H***** I didn't want those workers on my house anymore QBE then sent a man named Felix--and the same two workers--to meet me with to address my concerns. Felix visited for about thirty minutes and agreed to have the repair on the garage re-done to a workman's standard. At the conclusion of the day, the workers departed, leaving a stack of wood in my driveway. I did not hear back from Felix or Mr. H***** over the next three weeks, so I took pictures and drove to Quality Built Exteriors to meet with the owner Mike Reedy. Mr Reedy seemed concerned but skeptical. He agreed to come to my house to see the work in two days. He arrived, as well as Mr H*****, and we walked around the house. We itemized the repairs in detail on the invoice AND I painted in red spray paint the sections I wanted redone. In addition to the shoddy work and incomplete work, the workers had left coffee stains on my new composite deck and siding nails littered the area. i didnt mention the empty Corona bottles the workers left in the trash or the bottle caps in the lawn. Meanwhile, Hurricane Joaquin was expected to arrive over the weekend and the work done on my chimney by the workers had made my chimney leak WORSE. I had to take Friday off work to go to the hardware store to buy a roll of HD plastic, a staple gun and some rope ($150) in order to crawl around my roof in the wind and the rain to wrap my chimney. Mr H***** claimed the previous workers specialized in vinyl siding and that maybe they should have sent a carpenter (!). So...they sent a carpenter named Keith to finish the job. I had to take another day off work to ensure the work was up to a workmans standard. Keith worked hard to complete the jobs over three days and overall did a decent job except that he could not replace the highest boards of my two story house because Keith doesn't like heights. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau to have some of the exorbitant cost reimbursed, but the BBB is not able to take action because I agreed to the price from the beginning and the invoice was vague in listing exactly what work QBE would do. Use somebody else

Mike Reedy, Keith Twitchell and Daniel are THE BEST contractors that my family has ever worked with. My family moved into a flipped house and we quickly learned that the house had a couple problems, the major one being a leak from an improperly installed shower on the second floor. Mike came out, diagnosed the problem, explained in perfect detail the several options he could provide to fix it and worked within our schedule and budget. Mike encouraged me to get a couple of quotes, he even made sure to point out questions that I should ask the other contractors to ensure that the contractors would be honest with us! Seriously, Mike wasn't trying to 'sell me' on anything. He knew his team was the best and would do the job better than anyone else. We ultimately chose to work with Mike and Quality Built Exteriors for several reasons: 1. He is honest, has always been there when I called and personally calls me back, and they are on time - every time. 2. He knows his business and takes great PRIDE in his work. My favorite story to illustrate this is when I asked Mike about what the building code was for shower. He explained the code then said, "A building code is the minimum that should be done to build something. We build above and beyond code - we build things properly." And he did, instead of just lining our new shower up to the standard 6 inches above the drain, they lined it up to the ceiling! Seriously, this meant a lot to us, just knowing they went the extra mile and truly took pride in their craftsmanship. They dont skimp just to make a couple extra dollars, they do right by their customers. 3. Their customer service is unmatched and the quality of their work is amazing. Keith and Daniel were incredibly respectful of our family and our home. They took every opportunity to explain what they were doing, how the old construction had failed and they showed us how they had corrected the problems. Whenever I would pop in, they always took the time to explain what they were doing - they even took the time to teach me how different aspects of the construction worked, which I really appreciated. And we couldn't be happier with the finished product, it looks better than the first one and we know it will last as long as the house does. 4. Finally, and most importantly, they are honest. When they finished installing our shower, the old shower door we were planning to reuse turned out to not be reuseable. Mike called me and said that he would take care of it. Quality Built Exteriors ordered a new door and installed it for us and they didn't charge us anything extra. Mike is a man of his word and stands by his quote and his work. I respect and appreciate this more than I can say. My family and I were on a tight budget trying to correct an unexpected home renovation and we were lucky to find Mike and Quality Built Exteriors. Quality Built Exteriors is the best group of contractors I have ever worked with. I am having them take care of some work on my parent's home and I would recommend them to anyone. They have my utmost respect, gratitude and the highest recommendation I can give. Thank you all for work you do.

The job went very good workers were on time, there was a small problem in that the workers figured that the material for job was already on site. a quick call and that was taken care of as material was delivered within 20 mins. they were very nice and did a great job. The entrances to both doors look new the sealing strips really help as now no light comes in from outside. They cleaned up area very well . I would use this company again as workmanship was great.

I got a quote from them to replace an existing privacy fence on my property (that did not follow my property lines, only enclosed part of my back yard, and was poorly built) with a new privacy fence that enclosed my entire back yard. Their price including a military discount, while a little higher than other quotes I got, was reasonable and they seemed to be very clear of the job I had in mind. After being told they had about a 2-week lead time on projects and accepting their quote, I paid a 50% deposit and waited to schedule the installation. They called me a couple days before the materials were scheduled to be delivered, giving me a chance to leave a note for the delivery people (since I would not be home on the delivery day) directing them where to place the materials. The materials were delivered on a Friday and construction began on the following Wednesday. I met with the construction crew when they began to go over the project and give them some final details on the fence and gate location and preferences. They accommodated my wishes to have the entire fence posts and concrete from the old fence removed from the ground. I can't speak to how they worked during the day as I only saw the progress every night, but they made good progress and didn't leave a mess overnight. The fence was completed on Friday, taking only 3 days from start to finish. The finished fence looks great and is much sturdier and better built than the original fence, especially the gates. Overall they did excellent work and I am very happy with the results.

The problem is the quality of the deck is shoddy. The boards are popping up everywhere. The price was very high for the quality of work and size of job. The boards aren't treated as some of them are warped. Thaddaus. came and looked at the problem and fixed it. We are now very pleased with the outcome

Bottom Line Up Front: I would hire this company again, but I would be much more involved in specifying my expectations in terms of exactly what I expected in writing and agreeing to a prompt timeline completion. With reasonable prices, they are committed to customer satisfaction. Don't settle, push them to deliver what you want and they will. The review initially written below is accurate, but Quality Built Exteriors did re-engage following its posting to remedy the issue. My feedback and comments apparently highlighted some quality issues with employees that they reportedly remedied, and they hired some real quality professionals to finish my job properly. Had the job been performed as it is now the first time, my overall review would be a B, but I need to be honest in evaluating the total job process that took quite a while to resolve. **************************************** Let's start with the few positives I can share because it wasn't a completely miserable experience. All personnel I engaged with were always friendly and courteous. Whenever I called or texted any of them they were very responsive. They completely rebuilt the House Deck railing and did a pretty good job. The angles on the ends could have matched better, and filing/sanding off rough edges near the house prior to install would have presented a more professional product. Unfortunately, these are the positive highlights. The first time they "completed" the job I had many issues with the quality of the end product, which unfortunately I didn?t notice until after they left. There were still many places where the paint applied was not done properly. You could see multiple places that were completely unpainted and where proper application techniques weren?t used, resulting in improper coverage. There still some deck boards that were rotten that should have been replaced too. There was also a lot of overspray on the white wall-covers to my above ground pool. They replaced the trim above the garage and painted it (albeit not well because streaking was obvious). Now, they recommended replacement of the wood trim with a non-rotting PVC product which I approved, but the materials were not the same size so it left a 3/4 inch gap above the new trim about 1 inch deep. The back of this gap was caulked, but aesthetically it looked horrible. Had I know this was going to happen, I would have told them to replace it with wood. After noting all these things, I called them back to fix the discrepancies. It took them almost 2 weeks to come back out to the house because I had signed off on the job and they had already reassigned their workforce, which I understood. In the meantime though I took the time to write out a detailed list of exactly what needed to be fixed to my satisfaction, went over it with them, and they agreed to fixing the list. Unfortunately, when they came back out to do the work I was away on business, but when I returned I still saw that many of the items that I clearly noted were not addressed. The gap above the garage was still there and it was not repainted but they seemed to have taken the paint I gave them for the job, there were still at least 5 places where there was still exposed wood (4 of which I specifically called out on the work list, the other was not highlighted in particular because I directed them to repaint the deck railing entirely due to multiple gaps), there was still debris under the pool deck that they created and didn?t clean up (again, on the punchlist I provided them), and the pool still had overspray on it. I gave them a full week to call me back to see what I thought of the job, and they never bothered to do so. As you can see, I paid over $4500 for the project and I?m not pleased. The estimator warned me before signing up for the job that the painting/staining would be the most expensive part, which I understand, but I expected a quality product for that funding. I?m also not convinced that I had all the boards replaced that the estimator charged me for because there were clear disconnects between the people actually doing the job and the person I worked with to contract the job (the estimator). He only came back to the house to see the work if/when I called to complain. I went with this company due to the good reviews and because they could start quickly, but I can?t really recommend them, particularly if you live on the peninsula. A lot of work time and efficiency was lost in transit time and also due to frequent runs for tools and/or materials that weren?t brought to the site with them.

Everything went good. There were additional costs of $150. They were pretty quick. It took them a couple of hours to finish the job.

Great service, friendly and professional! I contacted multiple companies and Quality was the only one to get back to me right away and they came out for a same day estimate. Installation was started about a week later and was completed in 2 days even with the horrible weather. They installed 3/4 of our backyard with 2 gates (walk through and vehicle). Everything came out perfect! Contact with QBE was always prompt and any questions we had were answered. All service and payment was done from the luxury of our home. I would suggest these people for any of your exterior wood work jobs.

The owner tried to cut me out of the dealings and tried to work with my husband only - right in front of me. He tried to take my husband aside and said, "You and I are going to be handling this, right?" While we were telling him what we wanted, he didn't want to hear what we wanted - he tried to tell us what he wanted to do. He then said he hires crews out - he hires subcontractors. He said he'd give us an estimate but we haven't heard from him.

When I contacted this company, they responded promptly and sent a salesman who arrived at the time of the appointment. I explained what I wanted done, and he measured the fence line. I asked him to provide me with a formal written proposal/estimate, which he did in about a week, sending it as an e-mail attachment. When I read the estimate, I noticed that the amount (linear feet) of fencing was not stated. I asked about that and a couple of other questions, which they answered. Their fence measurement seemed high to me, so I measured again to make sure I hadn't made a mistake. I've also had two other contractors measure and give me an estimate. Their measurements are within two or three feet of mine. On 5/15/2015, I sent Quality Built Exteriors an e-mail in which I disputed their number and gave them the opportunity to measure again and modify their estimate. I have not heard back from them. This was not what I expected from a company who has good reviews on Angie's List.

My house trim paint is faint and needs re-paint. I took the Angies List big deal to cover the trim with PVC aluminum wrap instead of re-paint so that it does not needed to be painted every couple of years. It cost a little bit more than the big deal price because the covering area is more than 500 sq feet. But the total price is still very good compared to other company's estimation. The installation work was done in two days, and the team is very professional. They did a good job to cover and seal all of the trim parts and cracks for the whole exterior of my house, and did a great job cleaning the work place after job done.

I don't remember the cost of replacing the French door with a window and the upgrades to the gutters and the wrapping. Don't want to low-ball the amount paid. The vinyl siding and the installation of the window went wonderfully well. They were on time, cleaned up, and were spot on. However, the interior work (finishing the drywall and installing the baseboards/trim) was slow. I had to call the office to remind them the interior work was not complete. Once they scheduled someone to come out, they did a good job.

Did a great job of securing a loose piece of soffit high up where starlings were nesting. Removed astonishing amount of pine needles and nesting material from the opening, cleaned it up, secured soffit back in place, cleaned up roof and gutter. Quick and efficient, problem did not reoccur!

First there was a scheduling issue which resulted in me taking time off from work for nothing, and their scheduler "getting a talking to". We paid $200 for this work, and basically got little to nothing. He barely glanced at the windows because they were fairly new replacement windows, which he could tell from looking 15 feet away. Not so much as a walk-up to look closer. They were terribly sealed by the contractor and you could feel air rushing around the frames into the house - they needed it badly. If I hadn't insisted, he wouldn't have done anything, not even a look-see. After doing four of them, one might think he'd figure he should check the rest. Nope. He made an effort to seal the door, tried pretty hard actually but it needs additional work to get a proper seal. Even after the work you can see daylight. In general I feel like I threw away $150. Really a disappointing experience all the way around. I figured this was $200 bucks that I would recoup pretty quickly. Instead I lost half a day's vacation and didn't get much for my money. I can't help but hope, as nice as the guy is and as good as the overall reviews are that we just had a bad experience. It's a lot easier to leave a review like this if the people are just bad in general, but we really did like the guy that came out. He was very nice.
